Cast of Characters: Talia al Ghul, Carrie Kelley

Talia al Ghul has posed:
It's Sunday morning. Talia is wearing silk pajama bottoms and a top. She's been stalking about the manor this morning. Being cooped up in the luxurious mansion is not exactly the worst of lives. But it is perhaps starting to get to her a little bit just the same.

She finally goes into the kitchen, getting an english muffin and putting it into a toaster oven, then goes over to open the fridge and look at her choice of spreads. She doesn't look like she's showered this morning. But her dark hair in the unkempt state just makes her look somehow more attainable. Yes, she's one of those women you just want to throttle sometimes.

Actually, most of the time.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Sundays were days often meant for sleeping in. While it would have been nice to do, Carrie did the exact opposite. She had already been up for awhile doing one of the few exercises she had always enjoyed the freedom of--Running. Yet she had to eat, and after a good lap of the estate (or part of it) she's heading to the kitchen looking freshly flush from the exertion and morning air with her gingersnap hair caught up in a messy ponytail atop her head. Her own attire certainly wasn't silk: A pair of jogging shorts that were some off brand replica of an actual sports brand, and a newer racerback t-shirt that in a pleasant shade of blue.

Carrie rounds the corner into the kitchen intending to head directly for the fridge to both search for food and grab a drink when she spots the now-familiar form she often avoided. There's a little squeak of her sneakers on the flooring as she veers instead to the sink to grab a glass and let Talia have her way with the contents of the fridge.

"Good morning."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia pulls some freshly churned butter from the fridge, and then selects a jar of marmalade. She holds the jar up to examine it for a moment before approving of it enough. A pitcher of grape juice is retrieved and the door swung shut with a bump of Talia's behind.

"Good morning," Talia replies, not having seemed to really even notice Carrie or at least pay her any attention yet. She carries the condiments over to set them on the counter near the toaster oven, before finally turning to regard the redhead.

"And how did you come to this happy little menagerie?" Talia inquires after a moment of looking Carrie over. She gets herself a glass, and a plate, having learned her way about by now, apparently.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
The answer to that question was usually an automatic and easy one of 'I was his teacher'. Knowing what she did about how his teachers ended up now, however, Carrie doesn't immediately respond. A second is bought for herself by raising her newly filled glass of water to take several long gulps till it was empty once again. By then she's at least come to a less life-threatening explanation that was none the less true.

"Over a year ago, I was taken hostage by some ninjas that Batman was fighting. I didn't like feeling helpless. I found my Sifu, and started training. Then started helping where I could."

"He didn't like that, of course. I'm stubborn." A rolling shrug is given as she flips the faucet on again to refill the glass before finally turning back around to watch what Talia was making for herself. "I met others, worked with others, and finally ended up here."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia fills her glass with grape juice as she leans back against the kitchen counter. She holds it up before her chest but her attention is on Carrie as the younger woman answers her question. Talia continues to study Carrie for a few moments before finally giving a small nod and sipping her grape juice.

"Good for you. I'd say it seems like you might be someone who might make something of herself. But then you're already here, so that's evident enough," Talia says. It almost seemed a compliment. No wait, it actually was a compliment. Probably.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley actually blinks in surprise at that as she cracks a smmile. She was in no way as stoic and emotionless as the others were, though she wonders if that reaction might be a mistake after a moment. "That's the plan. Much as I have one at least," she admits with a self-depreciating chuckle. "I've still got a lot to learn and I'm behind the others in years of training." Which may explain why she was out running even on a 'down' day such as Sunday.

The gurgle of her stomach causes her to give in to the fact that she was hungry though. Turning to a cupboard she reaches up to flip it open to reveal... boxes of cereal. One is plucked up and shaken only to sigh at the empty sound. "Boys," she mutters without thinking as she shakes her head reproachfully. Only one of the guys would put an empty box back in the cupboard. It's taken out to be thrown away, and she nudges the cupboard shut with fingertips.

"So how are you doing here? I imagine it's kind of boring for someone like you."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia retrieves her English muffins from the toaster oven, splitting them and then buttering them lightly before adding the marmalade. "Realize your strengths and weaknesses. Some around you have spent their entire lives learning to be what they are and you are unlikely to ever be their match. But that doesn't mean you can't be the equal of... clowns and flightless birds," the female assassin says.

She takes a small bite of her English muffin, swallowing before saying. "I am finding ways to occupy myself. An unfortunately necessary situation," she says. Before adding more softly, "If not one with... unexpected benefits," adds Damian's mother.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley tosses the empty box into the trash, and immediately tugs open a drawer to pluck out a knife. It's twirled between her fingers idly as she opts to grab one of the muffins herself at this point to slice in half, and add to the toaster. "I'm going to spare myself the mental imagery that brings up and assume you mean being near Damian again," she puts forth with a little shake of her head.

"He's... mentioned that you two have had a chance to reconnect." Over soup of all things, but she could understand that.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia takes another small bite of the muffin, seeming a person for whom things like food are done in moderation. "We have," Talia confirms. "Small steps. But good ones," she says, before picking up her plate and glass. "You would do well to keep an eye over your shoulder. Anyone coming or going might find eyes on them," she comments before beginning to walk towards the exit to the kitchen. Because that kind of news will just make breakfast taste so much better.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley pauses in staring at her toasting muffin to glance over her shoulder at the departing Talia. Now that wasn't ominous at all. Did she mean the potental killers after her in the first place? Or was she now a person of interest in general? So many possibilities. "Been doing that for awhile now... but I'll keep it in mind. Damian isn't always going to be around to handle them for me." Nope. Wait what?
