Date of Scene: 20 April 2017
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Marinette arrives in New York City and helps serve some customers.
Cast of Characters: 143, Sarah Osborn, Iron Man, Pepper Potts, Starr

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
The sweet aroma of fresh baked bread floods the streets of New York City. The wonderous smell is flowing out of a brand new bakery. Its morning in the city and the Dupain Bakery and Pâtisserie is open and in full swing! Already a small line has begun forming as inside, a portly mustached man works making croissants, danishes and plenty of baguettes. Joining him is a shorter chinese woman who has dark blue hair.

The Two work in tandum as though they have been doing this together for years. The fact is, they have. The Dupain Bakery and Pâtisserie has been active in Paris for years. They only recently have decided to expand to America.

One person who wasn't exactly thrilled was their daughter. She insisted on staying at school with her friends. Even after word that her dream boyfriend was moving away was spread through the school, she wanted to finish there. So she stayed with her best friend Alya until the end of the term.

Now, she is in this strange new city as well. She happens to be in a cab, riding her way from the airport to her new home, just above her parents' Shop.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
The best thing about grand openings for plasces like bakeries, delis, and eating establishments is the free samples. Sarah tends to show up for many such openings...here metabolism is incredible but she still requires far more food tnan an average girl of her height and build. Of course, it is impolite not to buy as well if you are taking a number of sampoles, so she looks over the menue for a number of things to tide her over.

Iron Man has posed:
Spring will as Spring does, and the morning sun's rise means that people are out in force, each trying to get to somewhere, whether it is work or home. The City, after all, runs on a 24 hour cycle. Even the news can't boast that sort of thing, or rather, can't accurately boast such a thing.

Of course, then, Tony Stark is on his way to somewhere, and while he may be briefly unaware of such a place as this, it doesn't mean 1. his chauffeur is and 2., more likely, Pepper is. After all, there is something of a necessity of coffee and donut, or danish, or some other sweet bread to truly greet the morning with! As a result, a black sedan with darkened windows pulls up to the curbside, and it takes a couple of moments, but eventually the driver emerges first from his side, only to run around to the rear passenger side door, and opens it.

"I swear, if they use the coffee beans that gets put through an animal's intestines, I'm going to hold you down and force you to drink it," comes from within. Even as he emerges, it's not hard to identify one Tony Stark. He steps from the vehicle, and then stands straight, glasses in place, Armani suit on, and he looks around briefly before he bends over and ducks his head in again to speak to his co-passenger, "Are you sure this is the place? It looked bigger in Paris."

Pepper Potts has posed:
"Even Paris can't afford New York store front rent. This is the place. And I've drank that coffee before, it's actually pretty good. You'd drink it too if you didn't know what you were drinking. I'm certain you've drank worse in the way of tequila." Pepper dead pans, having been up and working for hours, but now she desperately DOES need some coffee and they had a bit of time before the meeting she was dragging Tony off to -- in efforts to get him to fully take back the company but ACTUALLY do the job of a CEO. So they were getting coffee, dammit!

Pepper slips out of the limo just after him, her sky high Prada stiletto heels navigating the crowded Manhattan sidewalk without a thought. Somehow she manages to walk just-so on the balls of her feet over both grates and cracks in the pavement. Pepper never misses a step. She's in a blinding cream, double breasted suit today, clearly tailored to her and meant to be a fresh breath of spring. But the brief case in one hand and look in her eyes screams -stuck in a boardroom- all day, staring out at the morning she can't enjoy. "Besides, you need to put on some weight again. You look skinny. Eat a damn donut."

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
As the line quickly diminishes, Mr. Dupain brings out more free samples. Small Danishes, tiny croissants, Mini tarts and even some very delicious looking mini-eclairs. Meanwhile, Mrs. Cheng Puts out more coffee. Several different varieties. Among them, are Decaf, Columbian dark, and even some high end stuff that may or may not come out the end of an animal at some point.

In the menu, there are countless different types of pastries. There is of course a variety of breads as well.

The Taxi rolls up to the store front and out steps the younger girl with bluebell eyes and dark blue hair. She is lost in awe as she looks around taking in the sights of the new city. Part of her is giddy over the prospects of seeing this place from the top down.

A soft voice speaks to her, "Marinette, This place is really big! I think you're going to be really busy with your otherlife."

Marinette stops and looks down into her purse. She quietly whispers, "I think you're right, Tikki. How am I going to do this without Cat Noir?" She closes her purse and quickly walks inside. Moving over to her parents she gives them both hugs. "Hi momma! Hi Papa! I missed you both!" She grabs her own apron and puts it on.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah looks for something with a lot of protein as well as fats and sugars for energy. Cheese or nuts or eggs or meats in the breads. She selects a variety and takes it to a table. She observes the new arrival, but thinks nothing of her as she seems welcome. She is much more interested in the highly recognizable figure of Tony Stark. She would like to get a job with his company, if not with her uncle Norman's

Iron Man has posed:
What? Meeting? Boardroom? Act like a CEO? This IS Tony Stark, after all... is it a good idea to bring him out in front of people who may or may not appreciate his particular take on life? The die is cast, however, and as the rear passenger side door is closed when Ms. Virginia Potts emerges, Tony offers a tight but amused smile in return to the quips. "You'll make me lose my contact with Jenny Craig."

Tony does step aside to get out of Pepper's way before he joins her, walking shoulder to shoulder up to the door. They're beat to the door by the obviously newly arrived to the city, and holding the door open once Marinette steps through, he gestures for Pepper to go next. Stepping into the bakery, however, Tony's impressed, and one hand drops into his suit pocket and the other reaches to pull at his jaw and beard consideringly, looking at the boards. "Okay, I may reconsider. What exactly is, oh, okay, it's a cream puff."

Sarah's interest in him, in them(?) is noticed, but she's given just a glance, a nod, and it's back to those 'profiteroles'. "100 of those, I think."

Pepper Potts has posed:
Ever loyal, ever present, Virginia Potts walks smoothly at Tony Stark's side, giving no hint that he was almost missing a month, that she'd taken over running his company, that anything ever changed between them. Because it didn't. She was, once more, glued to his side and already playing bad-ideas-translator as he orders a hundred of something the newly opened store doesn't probably even have a 100 of in stock. Pepper just gives one of those too-sweet corporate smiles towards whomever is in front of them, half apologetic. "Ah... I don't know if they have that many. We can get enough for the board, though... Could we get two dozen? Are they profiteroles? Yes, thank you, two dozen, two go... and two large Americanos, one double cream, double sugar, the other with half a sweet and low, thank you." Guess whose is whose.

Sarah gets a slight double take look from Pepper, something pinging in the back of the strawberry blonde's mind that she should know the girl, but she cannot recall what. Maybe it's just her mind playing tricks on her? SHe gives Sarah a neutral, unthreatening sort of smile, a sort of apology for her moment of staring, but then she looks back foward and pulls out the Black Card she uses for all their business transactions. "Oh...and a bagel with extra cream cheese. Screw your contract with Jenny Craig." She fondly elbows Tony in the side.

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
"Bonjour! Welcome to Dupain's Bakery and Pâtisserie!" The portly man states after embracing the younger girl. "My name is Tom Dupain, this is my wife, Sabine Cheng and this is our daughter, Marinette." She smiles to the man. When he makes that big of an order, Mr. Dupain's eyes go wide. "I do not have that many at this time but I can make that many and deliver them. By when would you need them?" Then Pepper steps in and adjusts the order. "I do have that many!" He quickly moves to the back.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Cheng begins getting the coffees. She doesn't miss a beat in the order as she makes sure everything is just right. "The coffee we get is really good. I hope you enjoy it."

Finally, There is Marinette who has moved to the register. She smiles. "Wait, I recognize you. We learned about you a little in school. You're Anthony Stark. Nice to meet you." She smiles a little. Then quicky she rings up the items and tells them the ammount. Once paid she gathers Sarah's order and carries it over to her table. She is being VERY cautious. Perhaps overly so... "Here you go, Miss. I hope you enjoy it!" Her accent is heavy but her english is very good.

Starr has posed:
Right about now, Elycia makes her way in and she rolls her shoulders. "Ugh...Gotham just can't beat New York." She says mostly to herself as she gets into line. "Double mocha latte with a shot and cream please, and half a dozen cream puffs." She says befoer she steps to the side....and smiles to Tony and Pepper. "Mister Stark. Miss Potts." She says before looking towards Sarah and smiling a little bit to her.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah waits for her half a dozen pastries and hot cocoa...she does not go for coffee a caffine does nothing for her. Once they arrive, she will take her seat. She recognizes Miss Potts of course, and the other lady possibly (though that is less certain). Hopefully Miss Potts never got a good look at her out of costume.

Iron Man has posed:
If the actual presence of Ms. Potts and Tony Stark don't 'open doors', that black card usually does. The one with absolutely no limit? "She'd invited me..." Beat. "... us out for a luncheon in St. Lucia next month." There's a longer pause before, "Well, it's not -her-, her, but... okay. Bagel. I'll split it with you."

Looking back to those behind the counter, Tony gestures towards his ever composed personal assistant (though there's rumors about her, and them!), "She's right. 2 dozen now. 100 when you can get to it." No, even though he gives the request lightly, and almost deadpanned, there is something of a seriousness that rolls in the undertones.

Tony smiles quickly and exaggeratedly at Pepper before he's back around, inclining his head. "Mr and Mrs Dupain. Miss Dupain. Pleasure." When the Missus mentions she's heard of him, he steps in a little to murmur in a stage whisper, "Lies. All of it." He straightens soon after, and takes a step back, ready to bear the coffee and the cream puffs. His life... until a paid assistant appears, but that won't happen. He's at the car!

The entrance of Elycia brings Tony's attention around and he mouths the order for the coffee. Leaning to the side towards Pepper now, brows rise, "Is that even a thing? A double sh-- ooooooh." An idea flickers behind those brown eyes and he inclines his head in a brief nod at the greeting, followed by, "He doesn't have any more. They're all mine."

Pepper Potts has posed:
One can practically SEE the long-suffering sigh behind Pepper's eyes as Tony insists on his order of a hundred, and comments on Jenny Craig, "I swear to god, Tony Stark...if you sleep with Jenny Craig, I... I'll... take a really long vacation. You'll be lost for two weeks. At least." Pepper huffs, the closest threat she might actually get to carrying out, even thoug they both know she doesn't mean it. She hasn't taken a two week vacation in ten years.

Her smile goes a bit sweeter for the family, "It's an honor, please... we very much liked your work in Paris. Truly a pleasure to have you in our fair city. And goodness, Mariette, you've grown up... it's good to see you." Pepper moons softly, happily over the family, having met them what feels like ages ago, but it was all the proper thing to say. She shakes her head at TOny's lies comment, but doesn't contradict them.

"...Miss." Pepper greets Elycia, not recognizing the girl, though she isn't quite accustomed to being greeted so openly by the public. She is polite, though, keeping her smile in place as she offers the card back to the owners. "...Just...put it all on the card, we've got it... it's fine. Yes... the... back ordered lot of 100 of those too..." SHe offers with a half sigh. Sarah is looked at again, curiously, but she's still not remembering why she knows that face. It's driving Pepper half nuts. "...Tony...do we know that girl?" SHe nods to Sarah.

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
Marinette returns to the counter only to hear more orders for creampuffs! "Dad, we're going to need a lot of those I think." She looks at Tony and smiles, "Your hundred will be delivered when they are done." She then looks over to the girl who made the order for a half dozen and smiles, "I will check on that for you." She looks bac, "Dad do we have another half dozen cream puffs?"

Her father responds, "We do! This is the last of them though! I am starting on the big order."

She smiles, "They will be right up." When Pepper recognizes them, she gives a warm smile! "Oh I am so sorry I forgot that you visited us in Paris! It is good to see you. I need to get acquainted with this city now. This place is really big compared to Paris. I think you could fit like two Parises in New York City."

Mrs Cheng quietly works on the more elaborate drink.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
While she is hungry...a very common state for Sarah, she eats slowly enough to savor the taste of the pastries, they are very good, she might stop in again. When she can afford it...

Iron Man has posed:
Tony looks to Pepper, and there's a glint of amusement that plays in those brown eyes. Innocence, thy name is NOT Tony Stark. "I'm sure you were on the guest list too, Pepper." If not, well, she'll be attending anyway.

Turning forward again, he's ready to take the two-dozen treats if Pepper gets the coffee. It's when she asks that fateful question that his brows rise again in theatric askance. "Think of what you just asked me..." is murmured. "Do you think I remember anyone? That's why I hire other people." He looks back at the Dupains and smiles quickly before he glances back at where Pepper's gestured. "No. Never saw her before in my life."

Tony is more than happy to let the ladies converse, drifting back down Memory Lane, but if it goes on too long, he starts to check his watch. "Pep... Pepper? Pepppppper... C'mon. I think we're triple parked. An ambulance may want to get through and save someone."

Pepper Potts has posed:
A slightly apologetic smile is given to Elycia, Pepper having picked up that the woman was trying to imply something, but Tony is moving about a hundred miles an hour, has got his order, and has decided he's done here. Pepper chuckles and pulls out her card case, removing a few, "Here, call us..." She echoes to Elycia, at least leaving her that little tid bit.

And then another card is passed in Mariette's direction, "Here... this is the address for that delivery. No rush on it..." The look in her eyes says Tony will probably forget he ordered them by the time they get there. Then Pepper is giving the whole room one last wave and waltzing back out the door with Tony, "That's why we left Happy with the car, Tony! Your coffee!" She is calling, ducking back in side just to pick up both their drinks, then she's dashing back out and into the limo. Just another day in the life of Virigina Potts.

Starr has posed:
Elycia looks at the multitude of cards she was given and smiles a little bit. "This could actually help out the holograms in the long run." She says pocketing them all. Once her latte comes up, and her cream puffs, Elycia simply takes them and goes for a table. "That was interesting." She then waves to Sarah with a smile....but she waits for Sarah to join her, if she does, to talk.

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
Marinette accepts the card and pockets it. Elycia gets her order and things start slowing down a little. She gives a warm smile to those who are here and just looks around a little on the nervous side of things.

Sadly the respite is shaken by a man in a trench coat. She smiles to him, "Welcome to Dupain's! Can I get you anything?"

The man looks at her and smirks, "You can get the owner of this here establishment. I would like to offer him a little security."

Marinette blinks a few times, "Umm Dad? There is a man here about Security?"

Her father steps out and its very clear that he's afraid over something. "Marinette, go upstairs and check out your room." She frowns hearing this. Quietly she makes her way to the stairs.

The weird man looks at Tom Dupain, "Froggy, If you are going to accept our security you need to pay. And its time for you to make your first payment. If you don't, I will have to give you an idea of what you are paying for. He opens his jacket and flashes a gun.

Marinette catches that sight and just hightails it up the stairs. That was creepy! As soon as they get up stairs and into her room, she lets Tikki out of her purse. "Welcome to America! Land of lots of Guns!"

The little red and black spotted creature frowns, "I think its time to show this city your secret."

"You're right! Tikki, Spots on!" The kwami swirls around and enters her earrings. Her hands cross her face and her mask appears. Her clothing shifts to a red unitard with black spots. Her yo-yo appears on her hip. With a quick pose, She is ready to go!

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah does not appreciate the attempt to extort protection from a couple trying to make n honest living. She picks up her remaining food and drink in one hand and almost casually tosses the plastic tray at the gunman, slamming into the wrist of his gun hand with considerable force...force enough to break the plastic tray...

Starr has posed:
Elycia looks up at the 'gunman' and sighs. "Ah...to be back in New York." Then Sarah shatters her tray over the gunman and ELycia just shakes her head. "Like I said....back in New York." And she eats her cream puff....

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
The door to Bakery opens up and in walks the red clad girl with black spots. She is idly twirling her yo-yo looking like a badass. "Sorry hate to bug you but this place is already protected!" With a quick toss, her yo-yo whips around the guys legs and he taken down before he can even react to having the tray broken on his wrist.

"Ladybug?! If this why we weren't hearing from you in Paris? You came here?"The Baker asks as he sees her working.

She smiles and glances up to him. "I was needed here more!" She then turns her attention back to the man. "I'm having a good day so I am going to let you get out of here. If you come back, I will give you over to the police!" With a quick tug, her Yo-Yo unravels from the guy and she catches it.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah, who had not even risen from her table when she tossed the tray, resumes eating her pastries. She will move over to join Elycia after she finishes.

Starr has posed:
Looking over to 'Ladybug', ELycia smiles a bit. "Well....At least the coffee shop was protected." She says as Sarah join her. "GOod shot, by the way, Sarah." She says as she offers her a creampuff. "Also good job Ladybug." She says with a smile....but then looks at the would-be robber. "I would leave....gun or not....you're way outmatched."

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
The man up and takes off running out the door. He is no match for one super type let alone however many might be in this bakery. He quickly moves back to a car waiting for him where he likely will make a crime boss rather upset.

Ladybug gives a smile and puts her yo-yo back on her hip. "Nice to meet you both. Awesome work!" She beams over that. She isn't used to having a whole bunch of heroes around. She's used to just herself and Chat Noir. "As Mr. Dupain said, I'm Ladybug! Whats your names?"

Sarah Osborn has posed:
"I am Sarah Osborn, my uncle owns one of Mr. Stark's chief rivals, Oscorp. He taught me self defense, just in case anyone happens to decide kidnalling his relations is a good idea," what Sarah says is true, if incomplete.

Starr has posed:
"I'm Elycia, just someone enjoying her latte." She says taking a sip of her latte pointedly. "At least you kept the guy from robbing the place. They make good lattes." She then looks to Sarah and shrugs. "Yeah...someone would try to kidnap you to get to Osbourne, I'm sure." She then chuckles.

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
Ladybug smiles, "A pleasure to meet you both." She takes in the knowledge that she's been given, specifically about Sarah being linked to Osborne. It might be useful someday. "Well. It was fun but I should probably go! I've got a city to patrol!" She pulls her yo-yo and starts swinging it. Once outside she throws it, catching a light post and pulling herself up with it. Then she is gone to the roof tops.

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah comments speculatively, "How very odd, a string that thin, which it might support the weight of a human, should cause damage to the person's flesh if it concentrated the full weight of the person on an area of such a small diameter. Ancient assassins used to use wire to cut people's throats in a similar manner." Sarah has extemsive knowledge of more things than most people know exist.

Starr has posed:
"She was....rather convinently placed, i think." Elycia says softly to Sarah. "But....that's just me. but then...you were here too." She says to Sarah. "But...Ladybug was here, so that's a good thing. The Gunman cut and run. Just have to figure out who the mastermind was. That thug didn't seem like the 'thinking' sort."

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
Marinette walks down stairs and gives a smile to the guests. "Can I get anyone anythii..EEP!" She slips on the tray that had gotten thrown and lands on her butt. "Ow. That hurt!" She gets up and moves behind the counter. "Anyway, Anyone?"

Sarah Osborn has posed:
Sarah helps Marinette up, "Sorry, I should clean up after myself." She picks up the pieces of the tray and puts them in the trash can. She says to the owners, "I suppose I owe you for the try. How much would that be?"

Starr has posed:
ELycia gets up and helps Sarah with the tray. "Lets split the cost, Sarah. Considering both of us were helped." She says and cleans up too.

Marinette DuPain (143) has posed:
Marinette smiles, "Don't worry about it. I fall down all the time. And you helped stop that guy from shaking down my dad! If anything we owe you!" She smiles a little and tosses out the destroyed trey.
