Date of Scene: 13 June 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Polaris, Rift

Polaris has posed:
Polaris called Kitora out to the yard, leaving a note for the student in her room with a date and time for training. The green haired mutant is out on the back grass a good distance from the house with a variety of objects all metal waiting near by on the grass. She adjusts her baseball cap, and props her hands on her hips lightly as she studies the field. There's chalk lines in the grass making a rough grid.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua walks out - she was told recently that she's been using her abilities a little too much, so she walks out in her normal red clothing - with her red hair, red eyes, and red clothing, there's a lot of red there. "Hello, Ms. Dane," she states, nodding, then looks all around at all the metal objects and the chalk lines. "What kind of training is this?" she asks curiously.

Polaris has posed:
"Powers, young padawan. Our training facility is booked so we're going to be the training facility today. " Lorna informs Kitora and walks along the line of objects as they lift. "Nothing fancy at first, you know how it goes. If you're going to end up on a team someday-you'll need to learn how yo tailer your power to work with others. Sound like something you can do Miss Alua?" She asks and looks over at her with an encouraging smile.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods slowly as she smiles, looking around curiously. "Very well," she muses as she takes a deep breath as suddenly her appearance changes. Her body and clothes are subsumed in a dull red glow, with gloiwng red lines visible inside her arms and legs and starbursts of red lights inside her chest and head. "I am ready," she states, staying on the ground. "What would you ask of me?"

Polaris has posed:
"Relax, it's just a bit of training to feel out where you might work best with other people." Lorna says in a calm tone and gestures to the end of the grid. "If you would. We can't run any sort of simulation out here-you'll get that training in the mornings more than likely." As she speaks, a square of iron starts to melt into smaller balls the size of marbles. "I want you to stop the "bullets"." She says as the metal floats in front of Polaris and her eyes glow faintly white. The grid is maybe 300 yard. "Lets get a sense of your range to start. Once you've stopped the bullets, suspend them please." She asks, waiting for Kitora to get into place.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua moves as she goes over to the designated area, watching as the metal moves into little balls. She stares as she braces herself, fists clenched, the air shimmering around her as she waits, taking a deep breath. Nobody's ever actually fired things at her.

Polaris has posed:
Nodding once she see's Kitora waiting, Polaris sends the balls at the student fast-careful to shoot them at her at a speed that won't cause significant harm, but enough to encourage Kitora to expand her stasis field to protect herself. "Catch and hold!" She calls, reminding the girl the task assigned.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua sees them coming and a shimmering rainbow field forms around her as the ball bearings stop - this is one thing she practices pretty often. All twenty of them are now slowly orbiting Kitora like a bunch of tiny moons - though a few came damned close to hitting her. "If they were going much faster I'm not sure I could've stopped them in time..." she muses. "I suppose I could've pulled up chunks of the ground to serve as shields..." she muses. "I do practice my abilities..."

Polaris has posed:
"Great. Just hold onto those a moment please." Polaris calls and gestures to the grass. Thin cut outs of people take the grid spaces. She adds some cut out cover, shaping them from the metal as well. The hostiles and bystanders are pretty clear. The hostiles have horns, the bystanders halos. "Now- scenario." She starts, taking her time and studying Kitora as she holds the balls in stasis. "You're an advanced scout for your team and there's a situation. Unfriendlies shooting it out with bystanders in the crossfire. Your team isn't caught up yet-what can you do?" She asks and fires a few more bullets at the girl to make sure she's not sleeping at the wheel.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua squeaks as she dodges the extra bullets. She focuses, and hides behind some of the cover. She focuses her stasis field, and then fires her captured bullets at the gunmen - the two closes to her, going for their legs. To wound them without killing. She looks uncertain as she studies the situation - she does have plenty of ammo after all - but she looks like she doens'tquite know what to do.

Polaris has posed:
The baddies hit fall over. Lorna fires more towards Kitora to simulate drawing fire. Some of the bystanders drift perilously close to the flying objects in their little duck hunt patterns. "Calm head Kitora! What abilities can you use to protect the bystanders? That always comes first. We want to avoid bloodshed if we can!" She yells out, prompting the student to get creative.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods slowly as she clicks her tongue, considering. She decides to try something else as she starts to hover - then zooms towards the bystandards at a very fast speed - snags them in the stsasis field as the ball bearings drop and beats a hasty retreat. She did this in the span of just a few seconds as she ends up outside the marked area with the bystander statues floating around her. "I don't have... really... I'm not sure how to handle gunmen... so... saving the bystanders is the best idea," she muses softly. "And don't worry - if they were real people they'd be fine. Well, other than maybe a bit of motion sickness - not everyone can tolerate zero-G the same..." She frowns, not sure if that's what she was supposed to do.

Polaris has posed:
"Not bad!" Polaris calls and holds off firing bullets at Kitora before asking "Now, if you are holding your people in stasis while still under fire, might that put the lives you're rescuing at risk? How else might you approach the problem of firearms being used in a public space?" She asks and resumes the barrage of bullets. "You can go very fast with your gravity, but you can also portal to take out enemies from unexpected directions." Lorna suggests and starts shooting the metal from some of the enemies. "Try identifying and taking the heaviest shooter down. Keep in mind you have the ability to portal and change gravity around you."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Yes... but my portals take a lot of concentration..." she muses softly. "Maybe with more practice they will be easier, but... in the middle of a firefight, Id on't think I'd have the concentration..." She ponder.s "I can't maniualte others' gravity at a distance - it's localized to me... but what I could do is this..." She squawks as one of those ballbearings hits her leg. She glows and then fires herself feetfirst at one of the gunmen at high speed, knocking him over - then stasis-fields the mannequin in front of her. "That kick would most likely incapacitate a human gunman... then I cause use him at meatshield...." She hesitates. "But if they're really bad guys they'd still shoot him..." She frowns.

Polaris has posed:
"It's a start." Polaris says, laying off the bullets as she walks over. Licking her thumb she smears it on Kitora's forehead. "Not bad Simba, you're not king of the pridelands yet. But be in the lobby tomorrow morning at four fourty five on the dot and the New Mutants will get you in on their morning training. You'll get there." She tells the student and nods to the house. "I gotta clean all this up, scram."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua sighs softly. "Well... if you need help I can oblige..." she muses, clicking her tongue. "But as you wish... I... I have the feeling that I haven't tapped my full potential yet... but..." She then ponders. "Could this be... maybe... am I being considered to join the X-Men?" the glowing girl asks as she focuses on tearing open a portal.

Polaris has posed:
"If we need help you can oblige?" Lorna arches a brow and studies the girl. "You're a bit green for the X-Men, but there are other teams for mutants-if you WANT, it's all your choice to risk life and limb, you may join the older teens suited to combat situations in their morning training. Again, it's your choice, but there's the offer." She nods to the girl and closes her eyes as the metal scattered across the field starts to roll and merge together.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Aluablinks. "Oh... right... you can just gather the metal..." She decides to see what'd happen if she tries to snag some of the metal you're pulling towards you, seeing if her stasis field can keep some of your metal from you as she watches you, curious as to what'd happen.

Polaris has posed:
Looking at Kitora, Polaris raises a hand and jerks the metal to her with a smile. "I can tear planes from the sky. You've got a ways before you can keep some metal from me-but you've got a strong field. That will come in handy when say, buildings are falling and rubble is putting others at risk."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua jerks in response to that, rubbing her head. "Well - note to self, no tug-of-war..." She ponders. "Well... I'll be there. Dark and early." She smiles as she walks through the portal which closes behind her.
