Cast of Characters: Pixie, Fantomex

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn hasn't checked out Club Evolution for a while now, since the attack happened. But hey, that's nothing new. Mutant Town is known for being quite violent from time to time. There are all sorts of people here too, although Club Evolution is generally a safer place to be. Unfortunately, Megan missed Dazzler's latest concert, but maybe she can catch some DJ music, especially after a long day of schoolwork. Hey, she totally deserves this!

So here she is, decked out in a flashy silver thigh-length party dress that flares out at the hips, with black shorts underneath as she loves to fly about, and a pair of black knee length boots to complete the simple but stylish dance look. Her bright pink hair is nearly as flashy as her dress and gives her a permanent rocker/party girl look.

Stepping into the club, she taps her foot to the beat, just enjoying the sights and sounds around her.

Fantomex has posed:
So this is Mutant Town? Fantomex finally made his way to New York after a few misadventures in Gotham and the surrounding area. He is, not be honest, not very impressed with the ambience. But it is a ghetto, oui? Not every city can be Paris. But see, there are more mutants here than in Paris.

Places to do business, too. Meaning he spent the morning and a good chunk of the afternoon visiting fixers, fencers and other colorful characters. He didn't kill anyone, either. Bonus.

And finally clubs, because that is what thieves do. And Evolutions seems one of the few that is not crappy, creepy or a tourist's trap. He will leave the creepy for later.

First surprise the security system almost detected his weaponry. He had to use some serious misdirection to avoid some embarrassing moments and make it to the bar.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn was actually on her way to the bar herself. Of course, they won't serve alcohol to minors, but it doesn't mean she can't order some sweet iced tea sans alcohol. She needs the extra sugar for all that energy anyways!

It's not unusual for people to dress up in funky costumes, and when she sees Fantomex stepping towards the bar, she smiles and nods to him. "Hey, cool costume!" she's still trying to figure out what exactly he is supposed to be, but tries not to stare as she waits for her drink.

Her own dragonfly wings are clearly visible through her silver dress, and they seem to gleam and shimmer in various shades of silver, grey and purple today, swirling in response to the particular beat on the dance floor, her foot tapping in rhythm to it. Clearly she is a mutant, and clearly a party girl.

Fantomex has posed:
Fantomex stalls and glances at Megan, "merci," he starts, "and you have beautiful wings, young one," he replies, his voice accented French. "I am Fantomex,or Jean-Philip, but I am assuming mutant names are more appropriate here, oui? Today is my first day in Mutant Town."

He turns to the bar where a glass of something red and alcoholic-looking seems to have materialized, even though he doesn't seem to have asked to the bartender yet. He picks the glass. Then pours it on his head where the liquor seems to vanish instantly.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn arches a brow at the accent. Unfortunately, while she has learned a bit of french at Xavier's, she's never been much of a linguist. "Ooh, you from France, huh? Cool accent. You must be far from home. My name is Megan. Megan Gwynn. Welsh all the way!" her accent by contrast is decidedly British, Welsh to be more specific, not that you could tell from the pink hair. Or the wings.

"Yeah, it's not a bad place once you get used to it. I mean, I'm kinda a visitor here myself, although I have a friend or two who live here. It can be dangerous in the more crime-ridden areas, but this place is actually pretty cool!"

Megan has to raise her voice to talk over the music and the cheering as a more popular song comes on, but at least the music is not deafening and is kept to a decent level. The waitress returns with her own drink, although she does notice when Jean-Philip's glass seems to just materialize in front of him. "Heeey, where'd that come from?" she asks, peering at it in some confusion.

Fantomex has posed:
"Crime-ridden is perfectly fine," replies the white-clad man. The glass is back to the bar, empty. The waitress also seems a bit confused where it came, but takes it away regardless. At the same time a few seats away a purple-skinned young man wonders where his Bloody Mary went.

"I am a criminal too, mademoiselle Gwynn," he confesses, speaking quietly - and yet easy to hear over the loud music. "I am a man of mystery and stealth. Some would say I am a thief, even." He winks an eye. Perhaps he is not serious.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn arches a brow in surprised. "What..You don't mind a crime-ridden slum?" she shivers, taking a sip of her iced tea, which frankly, just makes her shiver all the more. Better get out on the dance floor soon. "I mean, I can defend myself alright, although they usually like us to be accompanied by an adult.." she shrugs, "But I guess if you live here long enough, you get used to it. I don't think I'd wanna live here though. I mean, there are some cool places here and there but.." she shrugs.

And then he admits to being a criminal and Megan bites her lip, peering at him a bit more warily. "Waaait, you're a criminal?" she laughs rather nervously at that, wondering if she should be talking to a criminal. "Ooh, a thief? Well. That's kinda..Cool, I guess. I mean...You didn't just pick my pockets, did you?" she quickly checks her purse. Nope, it's still there, phew. Good thing she didn't bring a lot of cash tonight.

Fantomex has posed:
"Oui, but you never saw me," confirms Fantomex. Maaaybe joking. "But I wouldn't steal from you, thief's word," he adds. "To be sincere, since I am in roll, I have to say I am more comfortable dancing on the rooftops of Paris or Marseille than in a crime-ridden slum. But beggars can't be choosers. And mutants, we are almost beggars," beat. "Not me, I am a thief. We should be thieves, it is more comfortable."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks slowly, "Never..Saw you?" she laughs rather nervously at that. Because, she's not sure if he's for real or...But hey, she's met all sorts of crazys in town. Some are for real, and some are pretty harmless. "Hehe, suure, your secret is safe with me!" she makes a movement to seal her lips. Pretty hard to tell if she's serious or just toying with him in return.

"Sooo, thief huh. I guess some people have to really work in non-standard ways to make a living, sure. I get it..Really." she laughs, "I mean, I guess I'm just kinda lucky that I have a school to go to, a safe place to stay.." Megan shrugs, realizing just how lucky she really is.

"Soooo what's it like, being a thief? Think you could teach me some nifty tricks?"

Fantomex has posed:
Fantomex shrugs, coat flapping dramatically, white mist seems to surround him for a few seconds. "No one sees me if I don't want to," he boasts, "what is to be a thief? Oh la la, such question." He actually needs to think about it a few seconds. "It is dangerous, but I make a comfortable living. I can acquire beautiful things and hold on them for a while. I can also mock the powerful and the proud. And travel to interesting places. On the con side, I get shot with alarming frequency. But I am good at avoiding bullets and I have a healing factor for those rare, really good marksmen that can hit me."

Finally, he tilts his head at the very concept of him teaching thievery. Then he laughs. "I suppose so. I really shouldn't."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn ooohs, how exciting! A real-life thief, and one who hasn't tried to pick her pockets..Yet! Well, maybe she can learn something useful from him, keep other thieves from trying to steal her loot..Or something! "Ooh, don't worry, I wont tell anyone you're a thief. Just teach me some little thing I can use to keep other thieves away. Or maybe a cool bit of sleight-of-hand. That would be fun!" Megan's wings flutter more quickly as she ponders.. ".I mean, this place is pretty dangerous sometimes!" she leans over, speaking almost conspiratorily. "Heey, I'll keep your secret safe, promise!"

Fantomex has posed:
"But... it is not a secret," protests Fantomex, chuckling behind his mask. "I am a famous thief, mademoiselle." He produces a silvery coin (two euro) and holds it between two fingers then moving it quickly over his extended, gloved hand. "Sleight of hand are mostly boring exercises to build up manual dexterity. Which basic for the trade, oui? Some fun tricks are possible later. Good to impress friends, or playing cards." Not really to stay safe if cheating at the cards!

"This club seems quite safe," he notes. "Outside, ah... perhaps you shouldn't be alone. But perhaps you are a dangerous mutant, hmm? I am sure those wings are not just for show. It would be foolish for most to assault any obvious mutant in this neighborhood. All you need to stay safe is to have the right attitude."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn oohs, "You're famous? That's soo tidy! I've never met a famous thief before. I guess you must be on the top ten wanted list, or something! Well tidy!" she shrugs, "Well here in Mutant town, you don't get assaulted cuz you're a mutant. Moreso if you carry too much cash with you, or you seem vulnerable, or you look like a spoiled brat." nope, totally not a spoiled brat here! Sheltered by the Xmen perhaps, but...Wait, does that make her a spoiled brat? "Ahhahaha.." she laughs, "Heey, I can take care of myself, but it's good to learn subtle tricks against sneaky thieves.." Megan does peer at the silver coin as he flips it around his fingers. "Show me something...Really really tidy!"

Fantomex has posed:
The coin is tossed up, and somehow vanishes in the air. No comments about being wanted, because that part is not really amusing and he is trying to keep things light for Megan's sake. "Sneaky thieves are mostly harmless for those who aren't wealthy. And even for the wealthy, because... sneaky."

He hesitates and then bows a little. "I just saw someone I... really should greet. In a sneaky way. I bid you adieu, Megan. Stay safe," he pauses a beat. "And for a tidy trick, farewell," he vanishes in a flash of light. And the odd thing is no one else saw the flash of light. Or, should she ask, any thief called Fantomex.
