Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Lucifer, Ravenna Levesque

Lucifer has posed:
It's midday at Lux, which means that while the club isn't /empty/, there are quite a few less people than normal. The Bartender, clad in white with a narrow black tie tucked into his dress shirt, looks to be busy restocking shelves and getting ready for the inevitable evening rush. A little radio plays nearby, some classic rock creaking from the speaker just loudly enough for him or anyone sitting at the empty, horseshoe-shaped bar to enjoy it.

When Ravenna enters the club, it's ... changed, just a little. Perhaps in ways too subtle to enumerate verbally, but it's just a bit different spatially than the night before. With the regulars from the club gone, it's much easier to see several non-humans in the wings. Two trolls resembling gargoyles huddled in an alcove, and a quartet of pixies are playing a manic game of ... something with acorns atop a tall bar table.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Midday at a club is always jarring. The illusion that the low lights and music give is gone, leaving only truth behind. She is not at all surprised to see several different supernatural creaetures here, they were likely there the night before, but her attentions were drawn elsewhere. Since she isn't here for play, she's dressed professionally today. A crisp white shirt under a fitted black vest and matching slacks. Her hair is even pulled back into a severe bun, leaving her face in full view.

Spotting the nameless bartender behind the bar, she slowly walks over and leans against the bar. With as much as she drank the night before she should be in rougher shape than she is, but it looks like she got a full night of beauty rest. "You said to return today, but you didn't mention a time. I hope I'm not interrupting your prep work." She knows how important that is when the night gets busy.

Lucifer has posed:
The Bartender turns and grins professionally at Ravenna. "Well well, welcome back, Miss Ravenna," he says, putting two bottles of amber scotch up on the shelf. "You're not bothering me at all. I could use a little break," he tells her, moving to meet her at the lacquiered wood of the bartop. He has a glass of water sliding towards her on a napkin before she's even quite seated, and rests his palms against the bar's inner edge to brace his shoulders, leaning into it a little. "You look sharp as a tack today," he praises her. "What can I do for you? Business or pleasure tonight?"

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"Good afternoon Nameless one." Ravenna says, having come up with her own nick name for him after last night. Sitting on the stool, she reaches for the water with a smirk and gives it a quick sip. "I'm all for having breaks when needed." When he compliments her appearence she smirks. "I occasionally dress properly for work, at least when they beg me to." Getting around to the proper questions, she leans forward on the bar. "Business tonight, at least at the start. You mentioned somethings in passing last night. Something about a membership, and perhaps assisting with wine based things."

Lucifer has posed:
"It never hurts," the Bartender agrees, and he listens to Ravenna's words, nodding along with her.

"Well, there are two different topics there," he says, musing. "First-- yes, I'd love to hire you to come on for a wine tasting some night. We do have a restaurant attached and we can bring in caterers, but it's precisely the sort of thing that you'd be ideal for. Could even turn into a full-time deal if coverage is broad enough," he says.

"Membership is optional, but a lot of people find it useful. Drinks are comp'd. You have access to the hotel, the garage, the membership rooms and the private rooms in the back," he says, gesturing a finger behind his shoulder. "You get access to a pretty diverse array of resources. Magical artifacts and components, weapons and vehicles-- we even have a pretty good computer hacker on staff and we offer in-house currency exchange services." He makes a gold coin appear from nowhere and flicks it on the bartop in a whirring circle, balanced on the edge and walking around with impeccable balance. "Everything you need to participate in the underground economy."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Ravenna listens as he goes through his pitch, pursing her lips as he goes through the lists of bonuses for the membership. She leans forward and steeplels her fingers. "To the first point, I could bring in a lot of business if I have the freedom to bring in the wines I know people want. I'm stifled where I work, if the wine doesn't fit their 'vision' it's not on their menu. Mostly it's local faire, which don't get me wrong, there are some great wineries in the state, but they're not diverse enough to really give a proper experience. I will plan a wine tasting that will undoubtedly go well, and if I bring in enough money with these tastings, than we can talk about employment." She seems to at least want to prove herself first.
RAs to the other matter, she listens to all of the benefits, each one of them making a small cash register noise in her head. Once he is finished she raises a brow. "While they are all fantastic bonuses, you have forgotten to mention just how much it costs, or what you want in return." She may not know what he is, but she deals with enough supernatural creatures to know that there is always a catch.

Lucifer has posed:
"Oh, the costs are set by management," Lucifer says, and he digs for a little leatherbound pamphlet that lives under the counter. It's well worn and lays out services-- an armory, the hotel, gym, car rentals, all of it. Hidden in magically-sensitive ink for her eyes only is a list of other arcane services, such as scrying, protection and security, and even obtaining components and artifacts. Some of them are spendy, but nothing's overpriced if the service is as good as what the Bartender suggests.

The price is enough to make anyone wince, though-- at least as much as a year's rent of a modest apartment in Manhattan.

"Of course, the biggest perk to membership is the jobs postings," Lucifer tells her. "Seeking, hiding, finding, protecting... permanent positions," he says. A delicate way to refer to 'hired assassins'. "You can post work, or if you're looking for some funds, I can add your name to the list and let you know if something in your baliwick pops up."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Ravenna looks over the paper, seeing all of the benfits spelled out for her. She made the mistake of drinking while reading over the sheet, and once she got to the price, a little bit goes down the wrong way. She coughs a few times before she shakes her head. That was not at all related to seeing the price. Smirking she nods her head. "Well yes, this is definatly a price." She makes a decent wage as a sommelier, a pittance at her aunt's shop and doens't really have much rent living with her aunt. But that'll keep her from getting a place of her own.

"I'm not sure how great I would be at those things but I do have skills of my own to offer. I am a healer, it's not something I'd advertise, but it is something I could descretely offer." Well her aunt advertises it, but she doesn't quite enjoy that.

Lucifer has posed:
The Bartender doesn't miss the sticker shock, and drums his fingers on the table. "Tell you what," he says, picking up the gold coin and making it vanish and reappear almost idly, while he mulls. "I know that sticker shock is a bit of a kick to the teeth for someone making a living. The House actually has a job opening," he tells her, drumming the coin on the lacquer three times, before it disapears on the fourth stroke. "It's a commission deal. Pay is a little less than what a membership would cost, but I think I can convince maangement to make an exception. I can pull some details together-- don't worry, it won't offend your sensibilities-- and if you get it done, we'll call that your membership fee for a year," he offers.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"That fully depends on just what the commision is for." Ravenna says thoughtfully but the temptation is there, it's easy to see on her face. This place so far has been amazing, and to be a proper member... she could work out the financials, but money would be tight. She twirls the liquid in her waterglass for a moment before she nods her head. "Tell me about the job opening."

Lucifer has posed:
"I need to make some calls," The Bartender tells Ravenna, shaking his head. "Figure out if the commission's still open and what they're looking for. You don't have to commit right now," he assures her. "I'll lay out the details and you'll be able to accept it or walk away as you like, no harm, no foul. But, if you like, I can give you a guest pass?" he inquires, making the coin disappear, and when it comes back, it's a red wax disc with the logo of the Lux candle stamped on it.

"It's good for a week. You'll need to pay for goods and services, but you can access our facility unrestrcited and can see what we offer. It might not be your cup of tea, and you'd still be welcome to socialize, drink at the bar, keep me company," he winks. "Does that sound up your alley? It's our treat," he assures her, offering the wax seal.

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Ravenna looks at that tempting red seal. The terms sound agreeable to her, but there is always a hint of caution to her. She bites her lip for a moment before she nods her head. "Perhaps it is best that I figure out if this is worth spending the money on before I start writing out the cheque." She laughs at that last bit and smirks. "With the way I tip, I hope that I would at least be welcome at the bar." She teases lightly as she holds out her hand for the wax seal. "One question. I was always told not to make a deal with someones name I did not know. What do I call you? Nameless one is getting too long to say."

Lucifer has posed:
"People around here prefer their anonymity," the lean fellow says, flashing a smile at Ravenna. "I try to accomodate that. You can just call me The Bartender," he assures her. "Anyone who works here will know who you're talking about and they'll find me if you need me," he promises her, flashing another charming grin.

"One note of caution-- avoid the back rooms," he warns her. "They're private rooms for executive club members. No harm will come to you in the club-- we have strict policies about violence-- but the back rooms are exempt from that. You seem to have your wits about you so I'm not /too/ worried about losing another patron to the Feldark, but still-- never hurts to be a little skeptical."

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
"I can understand that." Ravenna says thoughtfully before she smirks at him. "So if I work here, would I just be the Sommelier?" Still she heeds his warning about the executive member rooms, and nods her head. "I don't have any interest in putting my own live in danger as a leisure activity." Some creatures are into that, but not Ravenna. "Very well Bartender, I accept your week long pass, and let me know about that house position. You do after all have my private number." It was on the black card hidden under the halographic lettering. She mirrors his charming grin and looks over the expensive sheet one more time before she polishes off her water. "I suppose that's all the business we had to attend to then?"

Lucifer has posed:
The Bartender grins at Ravenna, making the cup disappear behind the counter. "For now," he tells her. "I'll drop you a line later and let you know what's going on with the job. We'll see if it's your speed or not. This is a busy place, so I'm sure something else will come along soon enough," he tells her.

"And yes, if you work here-- full-time sommeliere, which-- would actually include a free membership. That's /if/ your wine tasting event goes off," he tells her, with an upticked finger. "But we pay our people well. So maybe plan the event, we'll host it... and see how it goes?"

Ravenna Levesque has posed:
Ravenna now has her answers, she either does some dirty work, earn herself a place on staff, or cough up her life savings. It's options, and having options is always a good thing. "When I work here." Ravenna says with a smirk, correcting his sentance and showing just a touch of confidence. "I'll get it planned, and if you have a venue here with a kitchen, than getting a caterer would not be a problem. I know a guy whose eager to do some pairings for me." Yeah she's going to have to call in some favors, but it will be worth it.

Finally she reaches over, offering her hand to The Bartender with one of her charming smiles. It's easy to see, now that he's seen several of them, that this is her business smile. "I believe we have ourselves a deal. You will not regret it. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to pretend to work at my job for a few more days." She even winks before slipping off and out of the club.
