Cast of Characters: Rage, Beast

Rage has posed:
It's early in the morning and Andrea heads into the kitchen from the backyard. She's dressed in a pair of swishy workout shorts and a cropped sleeveless shirt that shows off her mid-driff. Covered in sweat and a bit red in the cheeks, she snags a paper towel and wipes herself down as she aims for the fridge to open it. Her pulse is racing, her breathing heavy as she looks to wind down from her aggressive morning routine. After snagging a bottle of water, she cracks it open and takes a few quick sips, leaning back against the counter with her eyes closed, sighing.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy didn't drink THAT much last night, just a couple glasses of the Blue Label. So he's alright in the morning. Back in his suit, he comes in for breakfast before the rush of kids. Seeing Andrea there, he chuckles. "Good morning."

Rage has posed:
"Good morning Doctor McCoy." Andrea says as she cracks her eyes open and tilts her chin upwards at the large blue furry teacher. She takes another sip of her water, brows lifting up curiously. "I saw the news last night about the Sentinels. Everything okay with that?" She asks as she straightens her posture up.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy chuckles as Andrea stands up straight. "Relax, Andrea. This isn't a movie set. You're not being graded on poise and posture. You clearly just had some exercise. Relax, eat." He then goes to find some leftover nuggests that were served to the kids.

Rage has posed:
Giving him a smile, Andrea says, "Good posture is important in life." She takes another sip of her water, though her brows lift upwards curiously. "So, the Sentinels being destroyed on the news. Is that a big deal? Do we have a superhero who is helping us out?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy chuckles. "Sorry. Yeah. I was hoping not to talk about that, but yes. After the incident with Captain Marvel, some of us went out to talk to Sebastion. He destroyed a whole bach of sentinels. All in all it was a strange and unpleasant experience. The danger's not over. In fact... I don't know what we're going to do." He then gets some coffee going.

Rage has posed:
"I don't know who Sebastion is." Andrea says as she lifts her brows upwards even more. "Shannon and I saw the news last night while working at the gym. She had concerns that Samuel may know a bit more about that since she claims that he could feel a presence within the Sentinels that may have been third party controlling them. I just got back so I'm trying to catch up on anything the New Mutants need to be aware of."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy smiles. "Well, he's a very special Sentinel with a will of his own, and somewhat of a desire for peace. And I hope it all works out."

Rage has posed:
"Wait, you are saying that this Sebastion guy /is/ a .. sentinel? Like... he's a human senintel?" Andrea blinks a few times rapidly, straightening up once more as she zeroes in her attention upon the teacher. "How is that possible? Did someone create him? Are they turning humans into robots now to hunt mutants, like.. The Reavers?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy nods a she pours a big mug of coffee. "He was a sentinel created under special circumstances, and has a will of his own. By the way don't talk about any of this stuff over electronic channels. He can be listening. He's a one-off special."

Rage has posed:
"Who exactly is making these Sentinels and why hasn't the government cracked down on trying to help us out? These robots are attacking American citizens." Andrea says as she caps her bottle of water and puts it to the side, looking a bit more awake now. "Did our government actually pass this? Like.. is this a thing now?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy chuckles. "It's complex. And some of it has the backing of governments. I'm sure Sam, Scott, or perhaps Kitty can get you a briefing if you want to help."

Rage has posed:
"I don't know what I can do to help, outside of using my incredibly wide social media influence to push back rather vocally." Andrea says as she furrows her brows. "But if I do that, I'm afraid I'd put a bigger target on me and expose the school, which is the /last/ thing I want to do. I want to use my position for change and influence but not at the cost of innocent lives."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy shrugs. "That might be useful. You never know." He then takes his plate and mug and finds a seat on a stool. "Yeah don't mention the school. Scott, Charles, and Jean are very particular about security. Do not mention the school publicly, with respect to mutants. Don't do it."

Rage has posed:
"Of course not, but I am Beyonce famous. It's really not all that hard to figure out what school I go to if people really wanted to deep dive, or as you said, this Sebastion guy hacking our security and listening to us. Both Mason and I are world famous popstars and I'm a publically outed mutant." Andrea says with a frown on her face. "I'm just saying, I don't want people tracking me back to the school if I was to go out there and lay down a social media smackdown. I just don't know how I could go on the offensive without blowback."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy tilts his hand. "Doesn't matter. The school exists. But you are not to mention to anyone, or hint or imply in any way, that this is a school full of mutants. Under the current political and social climate, that has beee deemed too much of a risk. That said, there's a lot you could do that doesn't involve mentioning your school at all. You could go to the United Nations and call for a global ban on armed Sentinels, for example."

Rage has posed:
A visible frown crosses over Andrea's face. She uncaps her bottle again and takes another sip. She gives a glance down to her wrist as her smart watch beeps. "Is our government involved in allowing these robots to fly around our country and shoot at it's citizens? If not, isn't that considered an attack on foreign soil and we should respond in kind?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy takes a long sip. "My understanding is that right now, they are not under US government control, but rather are being controlled by private groups. I don't think there's a political matter right now, in terms of the US Government. I do believe foreign governments may be involved, and definitely private groups in and out of the United States. These are serious machines, builtin serious factories, and it's not a fly by night fringe group at all."

Rage has posed:
"So, is the government even doing anything? The president? Congress? If machines even built by private corporations are attacking citizens on the streets, our military should be involved in putting an end to it. This shouldn't even be a superhero thing." Andrea takes her phone off her arm and taps along the glass as she does a quick web search. "Is our government so inept that it's going to stand idly by as people are just assassinated in the streets?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy shakes his head. "Not particularly. Well, certain individual government organizations, such as SHIELD, can be asked to help from time to time. The Avengers have also worked with government blessing, and they are most definitely oru ally on this. Our government reflects the culture, and the culture is not with us."

Rage has posed:
"The culture doesn't mean jack shit if we have /laws/ that are already in place to protect the citizens of this country. They can hate us as much as they want for having blue fur or pink skin but at the end of the day, they still have this thing called the constitution and other laws that are designed to keep the citizens safe. To protect us from all terrorists foreign and domestic. These robots aren't just hurting mutants, but normal people too. If they don't care, it means our government is perfectly fine in terrorists hurting their own people and they aren't doing what we pay them to do, which is to manage our country." The voice of Andrea rises in anger as her arms goosebump with a low rumble in her throat that is more feral than human. "My /mother/ is a Marine and she fights with her life to defend our country from shit like this and our own government is going to turn their backs on us?" Her fists squeeze upwards tightly, digging nails in deep.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy digs in to the warmed leftovers, watching Andrea fume, and nods. "That's right. You're not wrong about any of it, Andrea. I hope one day we have equality under the law, in practice and not just in theory. Charles Xavier is devoted to that. And so am I. It's a long, hard fight, and it's not over yet."

Rage has posed:
"It's /absolutely/ over if our own government is letting five story robots fly around shooting people in the street! This is insane that they don't care and they allow it. Someone is obviously getting paid to look away. What is the plan? Just smile and show them that we are nice people? They'll still shoot us in cold blood because they are scared." The rumblings in Andrea's chest grows louder as her body gives a bit of a jolt as she reaches out to clutch her arm, sucking in a deep breath, clenching her eyes shut.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy takes a slow breath, and finishes up his breakfast quickly. Then he dabs his mouth with a paper napkin. "That's what I mean. The fight isn't over until victory. We haven't won yet. We have to keep fighting our way." He then downs his coffee, and stands up to walk up to Andrea. Taking her by the shoulders, turning her to face him, he looks at her intently, even if her eyes are closed. "Yes, Andrea. That is the plan. We will show the world that we're people, just like everyone else. We're generally nice people. Eventually that will win. If we can take out the few pockets of active criminals and villians attempting to murder us, that will go a long way. We show what we are. We expose the truth about those attepting to kill us. Truth will prevail. It's just that sometimse it takes a while."

Rage has posed:
When she is touched, Andrea's flesh can be felt rippling beneath the surface as her muscles are contorting. She clenches her arm tightly with the other hand, grinding her back teeth. When her eyes open, they aren't the warm brown, but a feral lupine yellow. Her teeth are pointed. The wolf is right there on the surface, looking for an excuse to leap out. Emotionally charged and stuck between wolf and man, her voice grates out in a hungry growl. "It will get worse."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy feels that, but maintains his grip, looking down at her, showing no fear. "One thing we have in common, is we have a feral core inside ourselves, that we must contain, and keep civilized. Don't give in. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. And Sebastion was learning that just yesterday. Don't follow that path."

Rage has posed:
"They are lucky they do not smell like rabbits." That's an odd phrase coming from the lips of Andrea. She gives a few blinks of her eyes, and her body gives a visible spastic twitch before her eyes return to normal and her body rightens itself. With a loud sigh, she inches out of his grasp and uncaps her bottle again to take another long chug. "I should finish my work out in the DR and blow off energy. I don't want to get behind in my schedule."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy pats her on the head, giving a little ruffle, and steps back. "If they've got rabbit in the blood, they'd better get their minds right. Because what we have here is... failure to communicate." He then takes his dishes to the sink. "Get that training in, and don't forget. You're one of the good guys. We don't do the things they do, even when they exploit it. I have to admit I Get tempted myself. When that gang was drugging our own students, I could have done a lot of things I shouldn't have. We will win by winning the love of the people. That' sgoing to mean changing attitudes over many years."

Rage has posed:
"Right. We're the good guys." Andrea says as she gives her arms a few shakes, hearing a few joints pop. "Take care, sir." She says as she heads out from the kitchen with her eyes set in determination and thought.
