Date of Scene: 06 October 2019
Location: Hammer Bay, Genosha
Synopsis: Lorna chats with Namorita
Cast of Characters: Polaris, Namorita

Polaris has posed:
Genosha was a highly developed country, one of towering skyscrapers and advanced technology. Mutants had taken what humanity had given them and gone the eX-tra mile. The greenery of Genosha had exploded since Magneto had taken over and allowed the mutants freedom to create and simply be. Lorna herself, had over seen a considerable about of cleanup around the coasts, ensuring human trash, waste, and pollution didn't harm the environs about the island.

The Princess was walking about on her private beach, the palace stretching up high above the cliffs behind her. It was a small cove, crowned by steep rocks and monitored by royal guards at the top. It was as alone as the Princess could get beside her gardens. She walked along the sands, barefoot and wearing a light weight dress of shimmering blue, woven in with silver and golden threads in geometric patterns. The tropical heat and sun meant that spending time on Genosha's beaches was one of the ideal ways to beat the heat.

She walked along the water's edge, letting the splash of sea foam and spray of salt to crash against her calves and skirts of her dress.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita spends much of her time in the northeastern US, but she does like to get away whenever she can. Oracle, Incorporated may be based in New York but the environmental activist company's reach is global. With concerns about oil and fossil fuels, trips to the Middle East are all too common and afterward, Nita likes to get away from the desert.

The African coast is one of her favorite places. The water is clean and clear, and there are often the occasional group of pirates to relieve stress. For whatever reason, her swim draws her to the shores of Genosha today, perhaps the contrast of lush greenery to the desert where she spent so much time recently.

As Lorna walks along the beach something might catch her eye out over the ocean. The flash of a distant figure rises high out of the water, 30-40 meters, and with another flash of green and blonde the figure plunges back into the water once more. Only a few moments later, a tall woman with a long, blonde ponytail and a green 2-piece swimsuit wades out of the water towards the beach.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna blinked in surprise at the splashing that happened to break the water's natural course of endless waves in the expansive ocean view before her. Beyond that of the traditional boats, or mutants that inhabited the island. Typically speaking, people knew not the approach the coast on this side of the cove. The royal family had it's time and space; and the people of Genosha were more than happy to give it to them. (Or at least didn't begrudge the safety zones around the palace).

The green haired royal stepped away from the water's edge as the woman in green burst from the waves and onto the shore.

"Uhm... hello..."

Namorita has posed:
The blonde woman's long hair trails to her waist, drawn back in a ponytail that quite clearly shows her pointed ears. As her feet touch the sand, the ankle wings flutter softly. She smiles in return, breathing steady and even for someone who crossed such a distance in so short a time.

"Hello. I do hope that I'm not intruding." Not that she seems to be overly concerned either way. "This is Genosha, isn't it? I've often passed by but I've never visited. I am Namorita Prentiss, of Atlantis."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna glanced about to where the guards lingered high above the cliffs. While on Genosha she had bodyguards, she had rules and formalities and schedules.. all the trappings that heir apparent came with. She reached up a hand to wave them back, holding her ground on the sandy shore of the tropical beach without alarm. She smiled at the visitor, glancing back to the blonde woman and taking her appearance in stride.

"This is Genosha, yes. I'm Lorna, Princess of Genosha... You're not intruding necessarily, though this isn't usually considered a public beach." She waved a hand toward the rocky cliffs that went up to where the steel creation that was the royal palace sat perched above.

"But since you're not from here you can't necessarily know that." She offered a smile again, and pushed her wind swept hair back from her face.

"Atlantis is quite a ways off from here, isn't it?"

Namorita has posed:
Nita tilts her head, following Lorna's hand-waving towards the guards. She doesn't look concerned, and even adds a wave of her own. "A Princess? My people are nomadic, although technically I was raised in a colony near the Antarctic. My cousin Namor is King of Atlantis, although I hold no formal title myself."

Her gaze is distracted briefly by the sweep of the green hair from the other woman's face. She laughs softly. "So what you're saying is that this beach is more for -your- use, then. Thank you for your indulgence, Princess."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna flashed Namorita a grin and she shrugged once, "More of a ground zero for the ring of protection around the palace that my father established. My personal use came out of being on the short list of 'safe to have around' really." She exhaled a breath, burying her toes in the sand of the beach beneath her feet, her green eyed gaze lingering on the aquatic visitor consideringly.

"Considering that Aquaman threatened to sink the island, my father doesn't typically trust our sea bound neighbors all that much." She grimaced faintly. "I'd say he'd be happy to work with your cousin, but that would imply your cousin would want anything to do with us." She joked lightly, but her gaze was perfectly serious.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita wrinkles her nose and chuckles again. "Arthur is an ass, and dispite what he thinks he does not speak for the entire ocean." she replies, perhaps a bit sharply. "As for my cousin, even *I* would not presume to speak for him beyond the boundaries of the company he allows me to run."

She settles her weight fully and wiggles her toes into the sand as well. Lowering her voice as if he could hear her, she adds. "Namor's favor is not easily courted, although his disfavor he dispenses quite freely. And often without warning."

She gives Lorna a more deliberate looking-over, then adds with a wry smile. "Although I daresay he would certainly be open to treating with Genosha if its Princess were handling the negotiations."

Yes, Namor does have a reputation...

Polaris has posed:
How a chance meeting on a beach turned into international politics would be anyone's guess. But such was Lorna's life, in private or public. She inclined her head, as she stepped lightly over the sand, damp edges of her skirt picking up bits and pieces of sand as she moved. "Well, considering he didn't threaten to sink Genosha for my father threatening the human nations... I'll take that as a net positive. Even if it's only apathy for us, that is still miles and leagues better than most of the world views our island." She shrugged one, crossing her arms as she came to a stop in consideration.

"I am the heir apparent, someday, I'll be Queen. Most people refuse to treat with the island because of my father and are waiting for me to inherit. At least, that's what Aquaman wanted. And a great deal of others."

Namorita has posed:
Namorita shifts her weight, hands on hips as Lorna approaches. "Namor would not threaten, he would just open fire. Simply put, his moods are like the ocean during hurricane season." Her toes continue to wiggle in the sand, feet effectively buried by now.

"I sat as Regent in Namor's absence for a while, so I can relate. Many did not welcome his return, although none were stupid enough to express their preferences in his presence." She flashes a wide smile at that, adding another chuckle. "So here we are, two someday-rulers whose time has not come." Another pause, while Nita sizes up the green-haired woman.

"Tell me, Lorna. Does Genosha have any desserts that you are famous for? I'm afraid that I've developed a terrible sweet tooth during my time in New York."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna inclined her head as Namorita spoke of her cousin and how people viewed him, she smiled, and it warmed as the blonde spoke. She stepped lightly about the sandy beach, picking at the metal threads in her skirt to lift it up past her ankles as she moved this way and that in a seemingly idle manner. She walked in silence as she listened to the other woman, considering her words with weight and equal measure.

"People are more than content to bad mouth my father to his face, he remembers it and always holds his revenge for the long game." She drawled, but at the mention of dessert, she laughed softly.

"We have mutant refugees from all over the world, they brought their foods from everywhere. Including the desserts. Whatever you want, we can get you some."

Namorita has posed:
Namorita lifts her toes out of the sand, ankle wings fluttering briefly as she uses one foot to wipe off the other. It's a gesture as casual and absent as brushing her hair back. And as Lorna walks, she moves lightly alongside.

"It's easy for those who watch from the sidelines to criticize leaders, especially controversial ones." she replies. And goodness knows that Namor has seen his share of criticism.

Nita doesn't outright -ask- for dessert, not as such, but she nods. "Right now it's good to walk on the beach without the weight of responsibilities."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna smiled, and waved a hand to the palace. "Indeed, it is very easy for them to say 'this is how things should be' or 'you're doing this wrong and need to that'... it is all very trying on friendships, much less the troubling politics that foreign rulers bring to the table." She sighed heavily, and shook her head as she reached up to comb her fingers through her sea wind tossed hair.

"That is why I take walks on the beach, it's harder for people to find me and try to pin me down for whatever reason." Her smile turned into a bit of a smirk. "It is another reason why I frequent New York from time to time myself."
