Synopsis: Meetings, discussions of history and some cake are shared.
Cast of Characters: Rave, Poseidon

Rave has posed:
It had been a while, a month and a few adventures for the 'bluenette' speedster. She'd fought crime, she'd been kidnapped, she'd seen some incredibly more vicious vigilanties and she'd gotten beaten up a few times. But she'd bounced back and...she was looking for a break! The streak from the coast of New York that tore across the waves was impossibly fast, the truth of it was the 'wash' of the girl's speed was all that was really visible as she cast water into the air behind her.

It wouldn't take anything -near- the speed of light to get from New York back to the beaches of the island, but that didn't mean the swimsuited speedster wasn't blindingly fast.

Within a minute she was slowing down to make a safer approach. After all, she'd hate to make half the water and beach 'explode' with the sudden stop!

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon is extremely, umbelievably, bored. Now aday, with less prayers to answer, most oceans managing themselves, he finds himself with a lot of time and less things to do. And so it is that almost every anomaly catches his attention, and someone running on the ocean is definitely something that people usually don't see everyday! So the god of the seas, sitting currently on his throne, extends his right hand and casts a simple spell, a globe of water materializing above his palm and, in it, the image of Rave running materializes in front of his eyes. It takes him a couple of seconds, but then he recognizes the speedster, and dissipating the spell he starts preparing another. Teleportation takes some time, and so it is that after a couple of minutes he'll have sufficent energy to appear someplace else! Specifically, he disappears from his throne room to appear, sitting, on the beach in front of which Rave is slowing down. As for his aspect, he today appears just as the tall, white haired but ageless looking man that is his true form, wearing a blue scaled armour but with no cloak. Recognizabl,e, but not not excessive!

Rave has posed:
The last of the approach, Rave slows her running. Slower, slower still until gravity is just about to take hold again and dives, disappearing under the waves and swimming a few meters before she emerges paddling in the surf, a smile on her face. There's a laugh as she paddles, wiping her hair from her face only to open those fainly neon gloing eyes and then blink at the sight before her.

"I thought this island didn't get many visitors?" she comments, grinning a little at the figure. Sure he looked different, but he was indeed recognizable. Besides, she'd wondered if she was going to run into the sea deity again...and there he was, halfway around the world. "Or did I just somehow stumble on Atlantas while looking for somewhere to enjoy a little swimming and sunbathing?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon shifts his gaze to look at Rave's approaching, and even offers a slightly amused grin "oh, you ran all over it, but it was many miles under you! I just couldn't resist the impulse of going to see who's running on my oceans, and look who I found?" he arches an eyebrow slightly, peering at the woman. "and yes, not many visitors indeed. Such a shame, this is a lovely place. Well, better for those of us who want a relaxing spot, right?"

Rave has posed:
Sure enough, she walks from the water. Not quite the same grace as a water deity herself, but she does at least manage to shake her hair from her eyes and then move towards the sand, checking her swimsuit over with a quick downward glance before making her way over to the sands. "Really? Crap...that's still a lot of ocean to check..." There's a mock pout, perhaps she doubts he's serious before she drops herself down onto the sand beside him and lays back, looking up towards the clear sky. "It's better for it. Crowds and tourist stuff would just sort of ruin it...I kinda like it this way."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon chuckles and shrugs, waving his hand dismissively "well, it isn't like in the last millennia I had much to do so, checking the oceans is sort of what I do now aday!" he comments, winking a bit in the woman's direction "plus, as I said, speedsters draw attention, somewhat!" he again channels some of his magic, turning his armour into a simple pair of blue trunks, now he's in suimsuit too! "yes, I like it like this too... You know, there are some islands somewhere that are magnificent, and I'm forced to literally send tourists away with volcano eruptions, or earthquakes, or similar things just to stop them from settling there..."

Rave has posed:
"I meant for me. I could run over the whole surface of the planet in about a day or two and see every inch of it more or less..." she begins before rolling onto her side, bracing herself up one elbow. "But I can't exactly go running to the bottom of the ocean or grabbing a snorkle. You've got a few mysteries on me now." She sighs, dropping back onto her back and lifting one leg up to lazily point her toes in the direction of the sun. "Gets awful dark down there I hear, and without light I'm just...normal."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon arches an eyebrow again, peering at the woman "normal? As in, no light no speed?" he asks, even tilting his head a little. Giving a little smile he adds "the ocean is full of misteries. And only the brave, or the foolish, will attempt to find them! Well, some even manage to scratch the surface, figuratively speaking... But then, some of the things under the oceans are there for a reason, and humans shouldn't find them..."

Rave has posed:
"I can still move at night. But if there's literally -no- light anywhere? I sort of...run out of charge." She explains, frowning a little and looking down at herself. "I sort of absorb it to heal and do what I do. Everything from a sprain to a haircut. It all sort of just...goes back to what it was." A pause, she shrugs her shoulders from her position on her back. "Still. No sunburn is a plus!"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon nods in understanding "oh well, so your powers are light fuelled? It makes sense! And, well yes, that powerset can be pretty useful indeed..." he smiles, leaning then a bit backwards on the sand and staring at the sky "well, our powers work in a similar way... Where our means, olympians... The more people believe in us, the more powerful we are. True, even with no believers we're no pushovers, but still..." he shrugs "back in the good old times I could do a sweep of all the oceans with a thought, now it takes me minutes, sometimes hours..."

Rave has posed:
"So you sort of get your mojo from people believing in your power?" she repeats, turning her gaze sidelong towards him. "I suppose that makes sense. Still...if you were to do like the big guy with the 'S' and start appearing in front of everyone, do you think that would make you stronger? Or is there a bit more competition now belief wise?" A pause, the blue-haired girl grins. "So...am I faster than Mercury or Apollo then?" She did have a passing knowledge of Greek Mythology it seemed, at least enough to have her competitive!

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon hmms thoughtfully, actually considering the question "well, yes there's more competition now. Plus, people don't, pray to that guy with the s, they just wait for him to go fix their problems, sorta..." he stares quietly at Rave for a bit of time, then just bursts out in a laugh "oh, dear, no! I mean, yes, right now perhaps you'd be as fast as they are and, by the way, apollo wasn't that fast himself without his carriage... But back in the times, well... It was hard to beat them, very hard."

Rave has posed:
"Well, you haven't seen my top speed!" she protests, actually sitting up and folding her arms with a pout. There's a pause, a sudden rush of movement and she's returned at his side to 'splash' him with a handfull of water from the surf, herself now sitting in front of him. "I can go -much- faster...but if I go too fast I sort of...well it's weird." Shaking her head, she gives a shrug. "Gives a girl somethin' to aim for at least!"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon again raises an eyebrow, but chuckles a bit when he's splashed with water from the surf! He inclines his head towards Rave, then slowly, deliberately, raises his right arm, pointing at her. And unless she moves, some water will just materialize above her head, raining on her! "see? For some things you don't need to be fast..." he comments with a wink

Rave has posed:
She probably -should- have got out of the way...but who really expects to be suddenly rained on? The girl gives a squeek, covering her face for a moment before shaking her head and casting off what drops she can. A little switch of her stance, she rolls her shoulders and then tilts her head to the side before adjusting her swimsuit. "Maybe. But it helps. I mean...I can see the world moving so slow, try so much of everything in ways I couldn't before...this." She gestures to him, his own form and then the ocean. "An average 'mortal' couldn't hope to see as much as you've seen or do what you've done...even if you said Homer wasn't particularly accurate."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon nods slowly in agreement "well, that is, I suppose, what sets us apart from common humans. We can do things they can't, and, in some cases, can't do things they can." he admits, closing his eyes for a bit and smiling slightly, gesturing casually with his fingers and causing a globe of water to form above his hand, globe that shapes like a small airplane and flies away, to splash on a nearby rock. "and yes, he wasn't accurate on some things, extremely accurate on others, but well..." he shrugs "that's in the past anyways"

Rave has posed:
Well that had her curiousity, enough so that Rave moves to lean forwards now. A switch of position and she's resting on her belly, hands under her chin to brace with her elbows against the sand and her knees bent to lazily let her feet rest in the air behind her. The position spoke her curiousity as much as her voice. "Oh? What sort of things can't you do?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon smiles, almost sweetly, while looking at the woman "living a normal life, for once?" he asks "you can shapeshift into a human, into a bird, or into a fish. But you will not be a human a bird or a fish, just look like it" he adds, lying backwards in the sand just as a relaxed person could do on the beach

Rave has posed:
"Normal is overrated," Rave shrugs, remaining in her posture for the time being and giving a lazy kick of her legs. "Believe me, I tried it..." A wink, she lets her own form flash a bright glowing neon blue for a moment, her hair even rising like it were weightless for those few seconds before the glow disappears and her form remains the same as before. "This is better. Lets me be different, help people and...I dunno, feel special I guess."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon observes the woman and her glowing, then smiles "oh, trust me, spend tousands of years in this world and you'll rethink about being normal... I mean, you know the golden apple thing, the thing that started troy's war? Well, would you ever want to be at a party like that?" he asks, "and then, well, you should see some of the gods arguing... Oh, well, there's nothing special about that trust me..."

Rave has posed:
"I suppose...but humans aren't exactly above starting their own craziness..." Rave murmers before blinking a little. "So was Helen of Troy really a thing? Was she -that- beautiful, or did one guy just get really..." she begins before frowning, shaking her head. "Sorry. I shouldn't be harassing you about this stuff. You wanted normal...what do you think of...a picnic? Pizza or something?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon closes his eyes for a moment, his mind probably going back several centuries "oh yes, she existed and, she definitely was beautyful. I mean, an odd sort of beauty, as in, you know, people usually have a subjective kind of beauty. What's good for me can be bad for you, right? Well, she didn't have this problem. She was just beautyful no matter who looked at her, almost. One of the perks of being the daughter of" he closes his mouth, chuckling "I'm rambling! Yeah, pizza is always amazing, as well as picnics!"

Rave has posed:
"Wow...I almost wish I was a history major now..." Rave muses before shrugging her shoulders. "But yeah, if I'm going to keep running into a 'god' of the seas when I go out swimming or sunbathing, maybe I should be bringing an 'offering' of food or something at the very least. Y'know?" A little laugh, she gestures towards her own midriff. "I mean, a little bribary works on everyone. Even me."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon blinks, looking at the woman with an amused smile "ooh, is that a suggestion? Should I summon some food and a towel?" he asks, rolling a bit on his side to better look at Rave "and well, yes... Food is always nice, at least it's better to sacrifice some food than, I don't know, a living sheep!"

Rave has posed:
"Summon s-...can you just do that? Like some sort of magical delivery app?" she blinks, shaking her head with a laugh. "That's nuts," Rave muses before grinning. "I mean, I can eat a decent amount. Probably the speed thing burning through it. Still, sharing a chocolate bar with a god is a new one to me...still kinda strange to think I've met you twice now. Do you tend to talk with...'mortals' often?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon grins a bit, closing his eyes for a second and then starting to channel his magic again. For those with magical senses, his skin will glow with tribal tattoos and, as his will and magic interact, he summons a large white towel that lands slowly on the sand in front of them. On it, soon a bottle of cold white wine appears, then a large dish with what looks to be like a lemon cheesecake! "well then try eating cheesecake with a god. They didn't have these things two tousands of years ago, we were missing on all the cool things! And no, I don't, talk with mortals that often. Ok, lately it happens more frequently, but still, it is a relatively rare thing."

Rave has posed:
Cheese cake? Well, she wasn't going to refuse. Her eyes watch those glowing tattoos in amazement and she actually reaches out a finger to experimentally touch his arm. Maybe not the brightest move, but one done none the less. "And here I thought I was special," she teases before taking an offered piece and taking a bite with a grin. "I'm glad there's one or two things you approve of these days,"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon chuckles, but doesn't pull back from the touch. His skin looks exactly like the skin of an average person, just, smooth and fresh as if he just came out of the water! "mh, oh but you are special! Why should you think otherwise now?" he asks, tilting his head a bit and winking at the woman. "well yeah i do otherwise you humans would be in a lot of troubles, trust me. Somedays I look at how you treat the oceans and I am so so much tempted to just sink all of you under the sea, so tempted..."

Rave has posed:
"Hey!" Rave adds, finishing her mouthful and giving a pout. "No great floods! There are places up here that would be much poorer under the sea...plus I can't run on water forever you know! You wouldn't want -me- drowning, right?" There was a flutter of her eyelashes, a playful pout akin to the classic puppy face from the girl with the bright blue hair and faintly glowing eyes.

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon laughs amusedly now, shaking his head "uh, well, na, I'd leave this island up for you or something like that! Or just give you the ability to breathe underwater. I did so in the past, after all! How did you think the atlanteans came to be?" he winks, getting a slice of cheesecake for himself and starting to eat it slowly "hmm, yeah, well, I still like humanity enough to leave you all be, fortunately"
