Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff arrived as she usually does, in a swirl of scarlet light at the gate before walking up the lane after entry is granted. The Scarlet Witch made other stops in the school, picking up some materials that were waiting for her. But while here, she couldn't pass up stopping to check out the room where Loki had recently been.

The Wellness Office is already repaired of the damage done by the detritus from the Tesseract that the Trickster God had expelled from himself, and Wanda had taken her look at the samples brought back by Tony Stark. But while here, she wanted to see the location for herself.

The Avenger stands in the doorway, opening her mystic senses to the energy and aura of the room. Only the faintest elements from that day remain, enough she would not have noticed them, perhaps, had she not known to check. "Definitely the Tesseract," says the woman, sensing the same energy that enabled Loki's escape from the Sanctum Santoris.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
Construction was an inevitability back home. With schools being underfunded and money going to cronies in the city government, what work was done usually only occurred when the populace was annoyed enough to threaten to kick whoever was in charge out. And construction was often a place to find neat and interesting things - an old habit that dies hard for Gwendolyn.

When Gwendolyn sees a dark haired woman looking into the room she was about to explore, she, for a moment considers stopping and heading in the opposite direction, as to not cause conflict or to be asked uncomfortable questions like 'why are you here?' and 'Who are you?'. It's time to be brave, after all. So far, everyone she has met has been wonderful and this person might be one too. "They're still workin' on that room.". She offers as she approaches. Unobtrusive, she is, wearing jeans and an oversized hooded sweatshirt, pulled up to hide her face, the glint of oversized goggles shining from beneath. "Looked like a bomb went off in there or somethin'.". She has a vaguely creole accent, tinged with French.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda glances over as she hears Gwendolyn. "Yes, so I heard. Well, with luck it'll be the last time for something like that," Wanda says. She glances around the school's hallowed halls and thinks to herself, but more likely that is just wishful thinking, the school being what it is.

Wanda's eyes quickly return to Gwendolyn though, giving the young woman a friendly smile. "I don't recall if I've met you yet. So many students and I'm afraid I'm not always the best with faces and names," Wanda says. Her own face is fairly well known from interviews and news clips of the Avengers in action. "I'm Wanda," she offers simply enough.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
"Well, I am one of the newer students." Gwendolyn is small and doesn't stand out very much in the real world and her voice, despite the cajun proclivity for being boisterous, is subdued. Here, in Hallowed Halls, her manner of dress is something that kind of sticks out. She approaches to peer into the room, to get an idea of what was in there beforehand and to see what work had been done already. It might be easy to miss, but the sight of no tools and walls that are just about to be sheetrocked cause her to frown a little. Nothing intresting in there just yet.

"I'm Gwendolyn." She pauss and then adds "Almenteros." as almost an afterthought. "I'm the second newest student here, I think. A new one with red wings got here today, actually. So we're both trying to fit in." She glances over at Wanda and the real defining view that Wanda is given is the goggles hiding her eyes completely before she steps back a half-step, as to not crowd the other woman. "Are you a mutant too?"

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda has a warm enough demeanor towards Gwendolyn, speaking softly accented English, and each word delivered with a lack of rush to what is being said. "Very nice to meet you, Gwendolyn. I am a mutant actually, yes. Most people know me as the Scarlet Witch. Though I did not attend the school. My sister Lorna did. And Professor Xavier and others have been friends," she says.

Wanda turns to regard Gwendolyn more fully. Her head tilts to the side just a bit as the woman asks, "And how are you finding the school so far? I know it is certainly a bit of a unique place. Are you finding it to your liking so far?" Wanda inquires.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
Looking her over, Wanda gets the sense that Gwendolyn is very uncomfortable in her own skin, fidgeting by tapping her fingertips together, using her clothing to hide her body, and covering most of the skin that's visible. "I've heard of you. Well, of the name, at least. We didn't get much news of mutants back home in Louisiana." She straightens, her chin coming up to look right at the woman known as the Scarlet witch, pushing her hood back to reveal a rather pretty face - hidden by giant goggles - but with small antenna poking out of her forehead just below the hairline.

"The school so far is...different. Andrea got me here, with her Starlight mutant help line, but I had no idea what I ws running into until I got here. It still seems like a dream, you know? All this? I mean, last week this time I was in Kentucky playing violin to earn enough for a bus ticket to get up here. And with these?" A gloved hand indicates the antenna on her forehead. "It was harder than you might think. I'm supposed to be fitted for an imager, or whatever they're called, once Scott and Gene are back from their business trip or whatever."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda gives her full attention to Gwendolyn as she tells how she ended up at the school. The older woman nods her head slowly as she listens to the tale. "I can relate a bit. Not, for the most part over being a mutant. But my brother and I were raised by a Romani couple," Wanda says softly. "There are prejudices in Transia and Serbia which we had to deal with. Constantly."

Wanda glances around, but when she does it seems to be more directed at the country than at the school. "It was different coming here, to the United States. At first. But then you discover the other prejudices. It seems something people having, almost no matter where you go. But, that doesn't mean you can't find places that are accepting, like here. I'm glad that you managed to come here, Gwendolyn. I think very highly of the people here. I'm actually here working on a protection spell for the school," she says softly. "Though, keep that between us, yes?" she asks with a warm, conspiratorial smile.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
It's almost like she's been let in on a little secret that not everyone knows about. How cool is that? Gwendolyn smiles - a real, brilliant smile - and nods emphatically. "I'll keep it quiet, sure. Doesn't do much good for protection if people expect it, after all." She then takes a moment to peer into the newly repaired room again, this time trying to imagine what the heck went on to cause such extensive remodeling. "I've tried to find out what happened in there. If someone delivered a mail bomb or something, or if someone was getting counseling and lost control. No-one really knows anything and, those that do, aren't saying much." A beat. "I'm glad I made it here, too. I just hope I can figure out how to help with things, like some of the more public heroes out there. Maybe just get known for playing violin or cooking instead of being a mutant. On can hope, right?"

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda glances back at the room but if she knows what happened in the room, she doesn't provide any details. Instead she says, "I imagine if you put your mind to it and work on it hard enough, you can."

Wanda gives a warm chuckle and says, "I'm working on the cello myself. I play a little classical guitar, but picked up a cello in an antique store not too long ago. I've always wanted to play one, but never made the time for it. I wish I'd started when I was younger. But there was always too much going on. Well, you have a wonderful place here to be able to focus on the violin if you like. Or cooking. Though, there's nothing wrong with not being known either. Sometimes, it'd be quite preferable, to be honest," Wanda says with a soft sigh.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
Curse wanda and her deft ripostes of Gwendolyn's horrible questioning about what went on. Instead of following that tact, the young woman latches on to the other thing that was said. Cello! "I know Shannon plays something...flute, I want to say. And Andrea, you know she sings, right? We could do a thing with music!" Gwendolyn sounds enthusiastic about something, for the first time that she can recall in quite a long time. But then, the lure of anonymity calls and she nods numbly. "If I could go back to the way I was before, I would in a second." she says quietly, frowning. "Not that I hate bein' a mutant. I just...wish I looked normal, like you do, instead of th' way I do now."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda's expression softens with understanding. "I know what you mean," she says softly. "Well, those Image Inducers they use, I've seen them in use before. You would be able to blend in with normal humans, at least. Though Gwendolyn, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the way that you look. And you deserve to be around people that understand that," Wanda says gently.

She breaks out in a warmer smile then. "I'm trying to get some of my team to do a jam session. I hear King T'Challa does a mean speaking drum," she says with a smile. "If I can ever coax them into it, maybe we came come by and play with the school sometime," she says.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
"I'd like that." Gwendolyn says with a smile. "Thanks, Wanda."
