Location: London, United Kingdom
Synopsis: Mina Harker gives Nita Prentiss a tour of London, completely with lunch.
Cast of Characters: Mina Harker, Namorita

Mina Harker has posed:
London, England. Mina Harker's here as the city's vibrant and bustling with life, from Canary Wharf, all the way to the City proper with its old architecture. Climbing out of a Tube train, Mina's got enough bottles of water for a small army. Destination? Thames. There's a cruise down the river Mina's been eyeing. Plus, Nita's here too. Turning to Nita, Mina's wearing casual....for her. Which means, oh by the way, her normal attire, with a Union Jack scarf to go with it.

Stepping out onto the street just after eight in the morning, Mina looks around, as if expecting trouble. Big city. Mina's feeling responsible for her friend, as she's explaining what's around. "We just came out of the Tube station. Over there?" she says gesturing off over to several buildings. "Saint James's Palace. You know, I said I wanted to do a river cruise, but given how many canals are up and down England and Wales, and Scotland too....why don't we just get a boat and cruise the waterways?" she asks with a grin. She's all for this, a nice relaxing cruise along rivers and canals, and....London's a good starting point

Namorita has posed:
Namorita can't really say she's ever set foot on England's shores, although she has certainly seen the island from afar. And what better way to see it than with a native? Nita is wearing a bit more than her usual attire, although there's no way she'd actually blend in here with her long hair and pointed ears. Green yoga pants and open-heel sandals (to keep her wings free!), along with a green top that covers a bit less than a good sports bra.

"You sure you really want to see it in a boat? I can swim much faster, and it'll be more comfortable." Okay, more comfortable for Nita, at least. All the same she enjoys the tour, looking around like an eager tourist while Mina points out the sights.

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina nods keenly. "Positive. If I'm riding on your back while you swim, Nita....people will" Mina says handing a 'I love London' cap over, to cover Atlantean ears, "People are gonna talk" she says and hands a homeless guy five British poundss. She then looks up and down the street with a nod, gesturing to a guy selling maps. "What you got. Maps as she steps over. "Hey, do you know where the boats are?" she asks with a lost tone. She's not been here in....years. The map selling guy looks to Mina, and to Nita. "No, now fuck off and take your girlfriend with you" he sais. Mina takes this as a 'I am an asshole Londoner' type, ad takes a map as payback. She even hits the jerk on the head on the way out too, before looking to Nita. "Okay. London's changed" she mutters.

"Jey, hey, you to women" Mina hears, somebody running up to them. "I got two tickets for the play and I can't go. You two okay?"

Mina looks amused. "For what play?"

"Hamilton's being revived" she hears as Mina's laughing. "Sure. Thanks for not being an ass to s" Mina says with a dagger glare to the map selling guy. "Oh Jonny. He's being a pain again? Let me handle this" the woman sayys. Mina nods and looks to Nita. "Tickets to Hamilton. Balcony seats. We get driven there and back? I'm not saying no, but...river cruise" Mina nods handing the tickets to Nita. The girlgfriend remark stung. Mina's adoring Nita. But...not in that way. Besides. Mina's about ready to get walking, the yelling of the map guy fading as Minaa walks, creful to keep sight of Nita. The crowds aren't that bad, but....stilll. Mina'ss city

Namorita has posed:
Namorita smiles playfully, giving Mina a nudge with her shoulder. "Aww, you're embarassed to be seen with a cheeky blonde." she teases. Glancing up when she is 'capped', Nita takes it off long enough to read the caption before putting it back on again. Unsnapping the back, she clips it beneath her long hair to make a redneck ponytail. She just watches Mina's interaction with the map seller, laughing softly at the outcome.

"Hamilton? I've heard only good things about it." she replies, accepting the tickets. And apparently she's not quite ready to let the 'girlfriend' thing drop just yet. "So what DOES one were to the London theater these days, Mina? I figured since I'll be your -date-, we might want to work on matching outfits or something. Do I get the tux or do you?"

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina laughs. "I get the turtleneck, you get the tux" Mina points out with her arm around Nita. So muhh for letting thee 'girlfriend' remark drop...as Mina grins. "We get picked up by car? I was going to hope it was boat. Since that's what I wanted to doo do. Boat trip. Mostly since, hey, boat trip. Island. Atlantean, what's not ot like?" Mina asks with a grin, walking as she talks. She's tripping over her words in excitement, too as Mina grins, actually...grins. She could totally....date...Nita. Get those thoughts ot of your head, Mina....^R
She grins, and settles into an easy walk. "So, where to first. Explore more, or food, or museums, or the river?" Mina asks, looking amused.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita slips her arm around the shorter woman's shoulder, holding her casually close. Hey, people are gonna talk anyway, right? "Car is fine, unless you want me to just fly us over and beat the traffic." she offers wryly. "But we've got time for a boat trip. Plenty of time. A nice, long, romantic, moonlit cruise..." Her hand lightly rubs Mina's shoulder while they walk. And were Mina to look her Atlantean travel companion is enjoying playing up the 'girlfriend' thing.

While Mina grew up in a strict, Victorian society Nita's upbringing was quite the opposite. Atlantean morality is a far cry from the surface world, even if the tall blonde doesn't -quite- have the same, scandalous reputation of her cousin.

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina grins, "Flying, sailing. It's getting from A to B" Mina adds wryly. She's shaken off her Victorian ideals, so....Mina's definitely not a prude. Instead, she's playing along with Nita. Looking amused, Mina smiles. "See" she says with a carefree wave. "A romantic, nice, romantic boat cruise down the Thames" Mina offers with a giggle. An, actual giggle.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita arches a brow at the giggle, grinning down at the shorter brunette. "That's a nice look for you." she offers. "The laugh, I mean. I remember when you were always so serious." Walking along, she continues. "Shall we see about a boat cruise, then? Or are you ready for lunch?

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina giggles again. "That's because things went bad and I got put away and had to be serious when I came out" Mina sighs, turning serious for a moment. "THey do lunch on boats? Sure, why not combine the two?" she adds and looks amused. "Throw what we don't like into the water?" she adds and looks innocent. or, as innocent as she can manage while giggling. Which totally and utterly ruins the innocent look. Shaking her head for a moment Mina smiles. "It's all fine dinining on the boats however, you sure you wanna go for that, or find somewhere more our style?" she adds with a wink.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita just gives a LOOK when Mina talks of throwing lunch leftovers into the water, and gives her friend a not-so-light dig in the ribs. And that's enough about littering! "So what's somewhere more 'our style', then? You make us sound like an old married couple or something. Fish and chips, maybe? Because we're in London, right. That's what you're SUPPOSED to do when you're in London."

Mina Harker has posed:
"Why not?" Mina asks with a grin. "Old married couple. No way. We don't have those frilly dreses and we're not sat around bemoning things over tea" Mina adds. Old, Victorian, married couple that is. She grins and follows her nose. Fish and chips. n actual sit down, fish and chip place, too. With a pretentious name. Owned by a famous chef, and...and.....they....they do spiral chips. Not fries. Chips. Mina's in a hushed tone explaining British speak to Nita. "Fries in the US aree chips here. Like, comes with..." Mina says turning her nose up a little. "New potato chips with garlic vinegrette. Like...fries to you with a....fancy coating" Mina shrugs looking unimpresed.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita's eyes brighten at that and she laughs suddenly. "Tea! Oh yes, we need to have a -proper- English tea. And I -know- what 'chips' mean here, silly. Do they come with that brown vinegar or something else? Haven't heard about the garlic vinegrette before, but it does sound delicious." Having grown up in the sea, Nita's always interested in human seasoning to food. And sweets.

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina orders a pot. Not a kettle. A pot. Of tea, with actual leaves. And sugar cubes, and a china jug of milk. A pouring jug, too. This is all fancy and high class. Mina gestures to the tea pot once it's brought. "May I?" she e asks. Certain things aren't forgotten. Like manners. She orders said fish and chips, but opts for no garlic vinigrette, either. With the food ordered, she grins wider. "So how's London?" she asks with a smirk.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita is enjoying this immensely. Teapot. Sugar cubes (she'll take 3...). China jug of milk, and a pouring jug. Blue eyes go wide and she wriggles. "Oh yes please." she replies, just looking over the setting. "This is... just like in the movies." she replies. "Are we missing anything here? I can't see that we would be."

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina pours. It's not quite fine dining, really. It's more, well....high class but with casual in there. Mina, however, is showing offf just a bit....as she's genuinely doing this. "Movies? What movies are you watching that involve tea?" she asks, having visions of Oriental movies. Nope, this is London. Definitely London....Mina can tell by the city around them.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita shrugs at the question. "You know... old ones. And shows. Downton Abbey." she replies, watching the pouring and the serving. "Oh, and Beauty and the Beast." Wink. "Does that teapot sing, by the way?" Okay, so now she's not being serious.

Mina Harker has posed:
"Given the world we live in. I'd be worried if it did" Mina adds and drops three sugar cubes in. See. She's paying attention. And she knows Nita. Setting the teapot back down, Mina laughs. "Downton...really. Really? I thought you were going to say Casablanca" Mina jokes with a grin. That'd be something, really...

Namorita has posed:
Namorita chuckles softly at that, resting her chin on one hand. Elbow on the table and all. "Naaah. Casablanca is all about champagne cocktails and brandy." She mimics the portly German waiter, then. "I brought a t'ird glass."

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina cracks up laughing. So much for the decorum of this place. Fortunately, food arrives as Mina grins. Even so she laughs more. "See, Casablanca's not that bad really" she shrugs and looks amused, leaning forward in her seat, watching Nita, then the food. It looks good. Serviette goes on lap. Cutlery in hand....

Namorita has posed:
Namorita follows Mina's example. Serviette... so. Knife in the right, fork in the left. "I never said it was." she replies, on the matter of Casablanca. "Of all the gin joints in the world, she had to walk into mine." Only she's not trying to do the voice this time. Leaning in, she sniffs the food as it's brought. "We can't deep-fry food to get it crispy like this."

Mina Harker has posed:
"That" Mina shrugs, "Is why we need to come here more often" she adds, though there's the edge of relief in her voice that they're both enjoying it. Looking across the table, Mina grins. Popping a chip in her mouth, Mina chews and focuses in on her food, quietly eating.

Namorita has posed:
Namorita chuckles at that, starting slowly on the fish and savoring every crunch. "You won't get any arguments from me there." she replies. For her part, Nita takes her time with the meal, enjoying the tastes and the smells and, well, everything.

Mina Harker has posed:
Once the food's done. Mina's leading the way down to the Thames. As polluted as it is. It's..still a river. It's....a dirty stinking river. But a river. Mina steps aboard the boat, and holds a hand to Nita. Once the boat sets off, Mina's lost in her own world. It's nice to be home, for once...
