Location: Central Park, Manhattan
Synopsis: Tim offers Nadia a little job.
Cast of Characters: Red Robin, Wasp (Pym)

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake is on a late lunch/early quitting time break. He has worked in the office all day on official and some unofficial things. He needs a bit to clear his mind with all the things going on, and looks like he is stuck in New York for a day or two. It is to early in the day to go put on the armored PJs and bust heads so he found himself walking through the park. There he spotted a Tai Chi group working, and Tim heads over putting his jacket and tie on a nearby table, and joins in. His form amzingly well for a business man.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Ever since she first came to USA Nadia Pym has had a soft spot for Central Park. People give you money for chess lessons, or at least they did until the 'tutors' figured out they couldn't win, and she got to see a self healing aerospace craft with a gravity drive. Good times.

But today at least it's useful for another reason. It's a nice crowded place to lose a tail. With the Tai Chi class looking like a nice concentration of people to blend in with while she checks for Red Room agents. Not that any would risk starting trouble in such a crowded part of the park!

She's dressed above her financial means with a dress from the latest van Dyne fashion house range. Set off with a slightly more battered looking bomber jacket with an insect wing design on the back.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake keeps a pretty active assessment of his surroundings and as the girl gets closer, and starts working to his herself. His brow raises a bit, and he slowly moves his position to hide the girl better for now, as he keeps an eye out to see who is chasing her. The girl is good, and he is not sure yet if he needs to help her hide or point her out, but it is a kid, and he has a soft spot for kids, as long as they aint Damaian.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia herself doesn't seem especially afraid. If someone is chasing her it's easier something very minor, from her outfit she could be a rich oligarchs daughter skipping out on her minders, or the people following her have given up the pursuit.

Then again this is New York. It's entirely possible (and infact true although it's not visibly obvious) that she has some power or ability that means anyone following her is in for a terrible day.

She stands around watching the martial arts display for a few minutes and eventually frowns at Tim after his position has gradually shifted him out of line with the class.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake is continuing the movements, but to the trained eye it seems almost automatic. Tim has started paying attention to the the area more, but he is keeping it look like he is with the group. His own behavior while possibly speaking of training, does not have a tell as from where.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia Pym blinks a few times. Something is certainly bothering her about the situation, but she can't quite put her finger on it. Thankfully with so many people engaged with the tai chi demonstration there are a few empty tables. Cautiously the suspicious teenager sits at an empty one, by coincidence the table next to the one with Tim's jacket and tie on it, and digs in her pocket for a hexagonal metal... thing.

It's hard to tell exactly what the device is, even for someone with Tim's training, but whatever it is she begins doing some fine adjustments with a screwdriver. Glancing up from time to time to make sure she's still safe and secure.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake is curious but no real easy or subtle way to look for now, not even activating one of the small drones in his jacket would be to noticeable by someone with the training she seems to have. It does rule out bored socialite a bit though. He hmms to himself continuing on for a few minutes, long enough it is not obvious her doing is what drew his attention but is soon stopping heading for coat and tie, and a better peek.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
A sly glance will reveal that whatever Nadia has been working on seems to be.. wings? There's a slightly organic looking sheen of insectile wing membranes folded up inside. As well as straps that imply it's a backpack of some kind.

Her eyes flick to the side. The only acknowledgement that Tim has moved position. "You're not a SHIELD agent are you?" she muses quietly with a hint of a Russian accent. "You're not FSB that's for sure."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake offers a smile and says "Na, nothing like that just work for a high tech company and they teach us a bit about watching around to make sure none are sneaking up on us to try to grab us for what we know. Truth missed with a little missinformation, best way to hide something is mixing it in with truths. Looks like you may something of the same?"

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia Pym shrugs. "I don't work for a tech company," she offers, then with a wink she adds "And I shouldn't really be talking to strangers but... Everyone in America is a little strange. So if I did that I'd never talk to anyone." Whatever work she was doing seems to be close to completion from the way she's carefully putting bits back together.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods a bit and says "You do seem a bit young for corporate life. He offers a smile, and seems honestly friendly. "If I may ask, what are you working on there?" Did he just come right out and ask yep. Easier than bugging her tracking her to her home and sneaking in to get a look, and less creepifing too.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"A bit young?" Nadia replies with a smirk. "I was doing college level physics when I was eight. But it was at a Siberian boarding school and the qualifications... Uhm... They do not travel internationally." She shrugs a 'what can you do' shrug. "This is my ride home. Quicker than walking. I just needed to make a slight adjustment to the calibration for one of my wings. I think the membrane is close to needing replacement so I'll have to grow another soon."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and says "Your ride home?" He studies the girl a bit and starts to say "You know costumed adventures for someone your age." But he can not finish it "Um your a superhero or something I take it?" He does not seem to surprised at this.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"Ride home is the correct American phrasing for the vehicle you intend to travel in, no?" Nadia says with a frown. "You'll have to forgive my English. It's not my first language. They are wings for flying with." She pauses, then adds "Functional rather than decorative." She takes a moment to glance around her. Maintaining situational awareness. "I've tried to stop people committing crimes but I balance it around my reseach. My friend Janet gets pretty annoyed whenever I get involved in anything too dangerous, but personally I think that's a little hypocritical. She gets into far more trouble than I do and if she was my age still that wouldn't stop her in the slightest!"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake offers her a smile and says "Often people worry more based on peoples age and experience instead of the level of danger. Fighting people can be dangerous, and her being your friend I would expect her to worry about you. So do you shrink for the wings, or do they grow for you if I may ask.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"They are correctly sized for me now," Nadia explains matter-of-factly. "Just folded up." The hexagonal backpack seems a little on the small size for person supporting wings. But the insect membranes are rather flexible and Tim has no doubt seen far stranger tech before. "But they can shrink or grow if I need it."

She makes a little coughing noise. "And for your information I am pretty well trained. People just have a tendancy to underestimate girls my age."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake says, "People have a bit of a habit to underestimate most young people. I still experience it at work on a regular bases. Are you going to be looking for a place to work or intern perhaps?"

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia Pym pouts. "I've actually been looking for a while now," she admits. "But most places don't want to hire a teenager with no formal qualifications. Or they are doing weapons research, which is something I'm not really comfortable doing. I'd rather be making the world better, clean renewable energy or GM crops that can feed billions cheaply."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will pull out his wallet, and a pen. He pulls a card from the wallet, and writes a bit on the back of it. "Come by Wayne Tech here in New york, and give this to the security guard and he will get you in touch with the right people . They will want to give ya a few tests to see what your skill levels are at, and may want you to work on getting an American certified degree, but from looking at you work here, I think we can maybe get you a paid internship while your getting the proper paperwork, and then perhaps a better paying job.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia Pym seems to skim read the business card even as Tim is writing on it. "American college degrees?" she repeats, biting her lip. "You have no idea how boring it'd be sitting through the relevant classes when I'm more than capable of teaching them. Still I suppose I could use the extra money for my research and the college lectures would be perfect for catching up on sleep..." Her head tilts to one side. "Is it likely to be a problem that I am technically a defector from a foreign power? I think Wayne Tech has some Government military contracts and I don't want to cause anyone trouble with the... ah... security clearance issues."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms, and says "Might limit of where you can work in the company, and if you have not gotten citizen ship we might have to work on that as well. Also some, not al classes can be tested out of where you go in prove you know it and not have to take the whole class. I did a few like that, trust me it helps." He offers her a smile

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"I have US citizenship," Nadia assures. "My father was American it's just that we're... not really close. It's a long story and I would rather not go into it. But I am fine with limited oppertunities, as I suspect the limits would be on military research projects?" She tucks the business card into her pocket. "Which I am not very comfortable with from an ideological point of view."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods his head a bit and says "I am Tim Drake, a pleasure to meet you. Now, that business is out of the way wonder if I might be able to ask ya something moe for myself.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia Pym offers her hands to shake. "Nadia Pym. Nice to meet you Mister Drake. I suppose you can ask whatever you want," she replies. "They do say it's a free country. Although the irony of this statement in such a capitalist country doesn't seem to occur to anyone..."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake says, "You were talking about having to replace one of the wings membranes. I collect superhero memoribilia, and I was wondering if you might be willing to part with the old wing and perhaps sign it?"

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"No I'm afraid not," Nadia responds with an emphatic shake of her head. "It's a proprietary bio-synthetic compound. Besides I'll just break it down for feedstock to grow the replacement in. No sense letting the raw materials go to waste.. Not that I'm suggesting your collection is a waste it's just... Well it wouldn't make a good collectable. After a year or so it'd rot away to nothing."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and says "Well dang, that does suck, I do like finding unique things, have a decent amount of autographs. Do you have a hero name you go by that you would give an autograph from?

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia Pym blinks a few times. "I... don't actually," she admits. "Janet did tell me I needed a name to go by. For my 'branding'. I've just let everyone call me Nadia because it's easier. And there aren't any people who would get hurt if the bad guys found out. To be honest the ones I'm most concerned with already know everything about me, so I never saw the point!"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake says, "Well it is not just the people you care about now, but the people you meet and might care about in the future. He hmms and says "Might sound a bit more Italian, than Russian but there some hornets called Vespa, would not be to bad a name, folks might think of the little motorcycle though"

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"Insects are more my fathers thing," Nadia points out. "I'll give it some consideration anyway. It's not really something I have to worry about right now. It's not like I'm out fighting crime all the time. More of a 'when it happens right infront of me' sort of deal."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods his head, and well remember to mention I gave you the card, and I will tell them to be expect you." He will tell the young girl. He offers her his hand in a shake.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia Pym shakes the offered hand. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind," she promises and then snaps the backpack shut. Her work seemingly done. "Once I've done my due diligence background checks of course. It's always best to go into a situation fully informed about the potential outcomes."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods his head and his phone beeps. He sighs softly as he pulls it out looking it over "Well seems I need to go and handle some things that came up at work."

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia Pym nods back. "And I have to fly," she replies slapping the hexagon onto her back. Straps deploy in some kind of automated mechanism that wrap around her arms and torso. "Enjoy your day Mister Drake." The wings unfurl, there's a low buzzing noise and she lifts off with ease.

Then much to the astonishment of the remaining members of the Tai Chi class she flies away at a pretty remarkable speed.
