Cast of Characters: Vi, Smart Alek

Vi has posed:
Vi's last trip to the backyard as she went exploring the school's ground had not gone very well. It ended with Samuel coming at her with a baton, thinking she was a Hydra assassin sent after him.

This afternoon is her first time back to the place. The sun is still in the sky, though tilting downwards on its inevitable trip towards the horizon. The weather is cool, and Vi is actually wearing the same exact outfit as last time, or its twin if not. Blue jeans and a dark grey SHIELD sweatshirt. Her feet are once again left bare.

This time Vi doesn't go to the basketball court. Perhaps bad memories. She walks past the baseball field, gazing at the interesting shape and layout, head tilted in curiosity. Though she continues on rather investigating it further. Something in particular has caught her eyes. The stables, where a a few horses are in a fenced in field beside it, wandering and enjoy the brisk, sunny late afternoon.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek is outside the garage, he's tinkering with a motorcycle which looks like it has been rebuilt just recently. He notices Vi as she walks by, he pauses a moment, looking like he wants to say something but he doesn't. He uses a screwdriver to adjust the carburator.

Vi has posed:
Vi is focused enough on the horses that she doesn't seem to notice Alek just yet. She walks over to the fence, her mouth hanging open. Two of the horses are moving together at a slow walk. One with a chestnut body and off-white mane, the other pure black.

Vi rests her hands on the fence, then climbs up on the bottom board so she can peer over the top better. The horses aren't really paying her any mind, just walking together deeper into the field while the girl stares at them.

Finally she looks around and spots Alek over at the nearby garage working on his bike. "I've never seen such a beautiful animal," she says quietly to him. Vi looks back towards the horses. "What are they?" she asks him.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek says, "It's a Honda..." he realizes however she's looking at the horses.. he looks over, "You mean the horses? I've really looked up their breeds... " He looks over to Vi, "Sorry about last time.. a terrible introduction to the mansion.""

Vi has posed:
Vi looks back to the horses for a bit longer, but eventually she drops down off the fence, landing easy on her bare feet and walking over through the grass towards Alek. "Horses?" she asks, having caught that he was correcting himself on their name. "They look so graceful," she says, glancing back towards the field, before turning back to Alek as she reaches him.

"He misunderstood who I was," Vi says, her eyes darting about for a moment, showing there's some emotion there though she doesn't let it out much beyond that brief flit of her gaze. "We talked again later," Vi says quietly. The text messages back and forth might have been picked up by Alek. Did you hear the new girl put a hole in the wall somehow? And talk about the encounter with Samuel that Alek witnessed, the rumors frequently getting the matter wrong.

"I'm Vi," she offers quietly, stuffing her hands into the pockets of her jeans as she looks down at Alek's bike he's working on.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek says, "Vi... As in.. the Number Six? Or V as in Victoria?" He comments, "Just working on this bike, keeps my hands busy.. I hope you found things to do here as well.""

Vi has posed:
Vi pronounces it Vi like it rhymes with "buy". "Number six?" she asks curiously, not seeming to understand the reference. "I don't know that it stands for anything. It's what my brother always called me. He never told me if it was short for anything, that I can remember," she says quietly.

Vi watches as Alek's hands work over the bike's parts. "I'm just starting to. I am starting to learn to read," she says quietly. She doesn't seem to know whether to be in awe of the fact she's starting to read, or embarrassed that everyone here seems to know how.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek says, "Learning to read..." He ponders this a bit, as he tries to assemble the little bits of information he has gleamed about her so far, "Well, if you need help, I'd gladly help... I took a bit to learn to read myself." He nods, "I found the ink more interesting then the shapes of letters. But eventually I figured it out. How's your own experiences so far with learning them? I always found it strange that half of the letters sound like the other half like C and K.""

Vi has posed:
Vi scuffs a bare foot against concrete. It's cold enough out that it would bother most people being barefoot. Especially standing on something like concrete that would further sap the heat. Though she doesn't seem to be showing much concern about it. "I only just started. Today," she tells him. "I've learned a few letters. Enough to read a few words," she says.

Vi glances towards the school. "I saw the room in the fancy hallways. Charles Xavier made it look like a mountain for me. But it was green and pleasant, like the clouds were all around it. And there wasn't any ash," she says. Vi turns to look around the area. "I guess most places don't have ash," she adds.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek says, "Fancy Hallways... Ash? Yeah, not much ash around here, were not really near any volcanos... and there is not much coal burning nowadays." he nods, "You from somewhere with alot of ash around?" wipes his hands off on his shirt, a little grease that now probably has permantently destroyed the shirt, but tis the way of things."

Vi has posed:
Vi nods her head as she watches Alek work. "There were three volcanoes. There's always some ash on the ground there, until it's cleared away," she tells him. She moves over to look at the engine where it's opened up enough she can see inside.

"I have no idea how these work. Some people were taught to drive the trucks, but only the ones who were favorites of the guards and trusted they wouldn't try to use one to escape somehow," she says quietly. "Anyone else would be killed for getting in one."
