Operation: Supernova
Date of Scene: 26 October 2019
Location: East Harlem, Manhattan
Synopsis: The Witchblade comes out during a raid against The Comets
Cast of Characters: Hammerhead, Witchblade

Hammerhead has posed:
It was tense in the 23rd Precinect as the briefing of Operation: Supernova was shown off to the gathered NYPD officers, including you. Operation: Supernova was the brainchild of Sgt Phil Demont, a transfer from Gotham City to make a strike against The Comets, a street gang from the same city making a move in NYC starting in Spanish Harlem. This crew specialized in gambling, especially when it involved sports, and were quite brutal when it came to dealing with debtors.

Today's operation was to be focused on one of The Comet's gambling dens in Spanish Harlem, with the main targets being "Fast" Eddy Ortega and Phil Cosgrove, two Comets lieutenants wanted for drug trafficking and racketeering. The men were suspected of being in the den with a unknown number of other Comets and who knows how many more civies. The briefing continued on as they discussed possible means of entry to tne building, which was a old, abandoned tenament building. Sgt Demont then looks at the gathered officers and says,

Anyone have any suggestions for a means of entry?"

Witchblade has posed:
Sara's sitting there taking notes as she thinks it over. "It's a tenement block, so" she says speaking up. She's thinking it over. This is her city. She's got an advantage. The Witchblade....and given her tangle with the FoH hooligans that were all set on burning that woman, the Witchblade's been restless ever since.^R
Sara speaks up again. "There's doors, they'll be expecting visitors and hate us, correct?" she asks. "I'd say we go in multiple ways" she offers, the Witchblade wanting to kill, maim, and destroy the whole gang, and everyone in the building. Sara's keenly aware of her bracelett, and what it can do. What it did to the FOH mob, knives, swords and oh yes. Fire. Sara's tempted to just burn the building for a moment, but she's barely got off of being cleared of any wrongdoing for the FoH mob and saving Fred. "What do we know about the building?" she asks. She's looking to the other officers. Oh how she'd love some sort of tacctical support right now...

Hammerhead has posed:
Sgt Demont looks at Sara and says, "The Tenamnet has been abandoned since 2015, so God knows what kind of state it is in now, especially with it being turned into a bookie's den. The building is about three stories with about 100 apartments in it. There is a front entrace, but it is likely to be guarded and SWAT dosen't want to go in that way. There is a back entrance and side entrance, but how guarded they are is unknown. We suspect the main operation to be on the third floor, which was apprently hollowed out by Atlas and Sons as a beginner phase of a renovation project before they abandoned the project."

The SWAT commander in charge of this raid, Sgt Hallahan then stands up and says," I think we should go with Detective Pezzini's appraoch of covering multiple entrances. This a big building and they obviously can't guard every entrance. We should make a shock and awe entrance at the front and while they are enganged in the front, a second and third squad can enter from the sides and catch the bastards by surprise."

The Sargent nods and says," Alright, we will go in that way. Now we will move on to the targets, anyone familiar at all with The Comets?"

Witchblade has posed:
Sara's silent. She's no idea. So she just sits there and relaxes. She's unsure if the Witchblade will stay quiet and not show up yet. But she takes notes. Three floors. 100 apartments. Bookies. And gangs. Great. Just...great

"No idea" she says simply. "Only know what's come across my desk. Gotham gang that are into sports. They are making noise" Sara says jutting her head up. She does know, but....she's being careful what she knows. She looks over the officers and detectives, looking over each of them. "Alright, so we go in, get our targets and they'd better live" Sara offers with a questioning look, as if saying 'If the Witchblade lets them'

Sitting back in her chair, Sara folds her hands in her lap. She's waiting for the briefiing to be over. She's waiting, and hoping this all goes smoothly. That's the thing about teaming up with SWAT. You never can tell what's going to go down on any given call. Sara's just stacked the deck in her favor quite a lot.

Hammerhead has posed:
Sgt Demont looks at you and says," Yes, it is important that we try to get both suspects in alive. We are intending on trying to turn at least one of them into a informant to help his get deeper into The Comet's opeations here in NYC and possibly transfer some of this knowledge to our colleges in Gotham."

After a few more minutes of final briefing, you were fianlly able to hit the road as you joined a procession of police vehicles as they made their way to the location. As planned, they stop a block away from the tenamnets, not wanting any lookouts to see the police coming. Sgt Hallhan, all dressed up in his SWAT gear then says,

" All right folks, remember the strategy, we go in three groups. Pezzini, you will be goin in with me and group three through the back entrance. Understand?"

Witchblade has posed:
Sara nods, "Got it, boss" nods and gets to her feet as she's glad the briefing's over. thankfully. Once there, Sara checks her gear. She's with her team and nods. "Alright, back entrance. Here we go" Sara says, the bracelet not still under her sleeve. Sara looks around the group. If the Witchblade comes out, it'll be a bloodbath. Great, that's just what the PD needs after the whole lynching. Sara's hoping the symbiote stays quiet, but...given how unpredictable it is....she's worried for her colleagues. On the other hand, the Witchblade may be able to take the targets in alive. May be. Or, it'll kill everyone in the tenement. Everyone....which would be bad, bad news for all concerned...but it'd solve the criminal element in there. Permanently. Sara nods to her group. "Let's go in when ready"

Hammerhead has posed:
As the team approaches the back door, the sounds of shouting and gunfire already echo from the front, look like they made contact. This was also your signal to go in. Hallahan grunts and kicks the door open, revealing a man wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, a member of the Comets. He was wearing headphones and seemed focused on what appeared to be a fantasy football game. He then looks up and notices the the group.

"Oh my God!" He shouts as he drops his phone and puts his hands up in surrender. Some gaurd he was.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara watches and motions to one of the other cops to cuff him. Smart guy not fighting with a bunch of cops. "Cuff 'em" Sara grunts through gritted teeth. She looks past the guard, the phone being bagged for evidence. Sara steps forward. She's cautious and wary, knowing what could happen. But the back of her mind's home to that little voice, she'll live. Oh she'll live. The Witchblade wills her to live. She pauses for a moment, and checks up and down the hall, then corners. She's got her gun out by this point, and is mentally and physically ready to get into a fight as she steps forward cautiously. The guard's going to be useful, really. She motions with her left hand for the guard to be taken away for questioning. Not her call if she wants to handle the interview. Not interrogation. Interview. Screw this PC crap, Sara's not a fan of it...but she steps forward again, cautiously being a few steps ahead of where the guard was. If he tries anything, she'll spin around and help out. Else...Pez on point is safer for all concerned when she can pull swords from nowhere, go armored, and terrify everyone who isn't out of range. Fortunatelyshe's the one in control for the moment as far as the symbiotic relationship goes

Hammerhead has posed:
As you approach the hall, the man you cuffed suddenly shouts, " Yo! A pig's coming!" Suddenly, another door opens a second, slightly larger Comet peers out and sees you. He then ducks back in the room he was in and comes out a second later with a sawed-off shotgun and fires at you.

Witchblade has posed:
"Gun!" she shouts, then fires twice. She's hit, but the Witchblade heals the wounds almost instantly. Tendrils creep over her hand. She fires again. The tendrils creep over her body as the Witchblade is not a happy symbiote. Sara got hurt. And the Witchblade wants blood. Preferably the guy with the sawn off, but it's not picky.

"Stay back. or get the hell out of here. Everyone pull back" Sara shouts "Take the guard with you"

In a way Sara's glad the guard alerted the guy with the gun. She needed to cut loose on the Comets. Unfortunately. Sra's a passenger now, the Witchblade's siezed control. And it's spouting fire at the guy with the sawnoff. Sara's in full on head to toe living metal armor. There's asword in her right hand. Her gun's on the floor. No way she's going to try shooting with clawed fingers. Not happning. The Witchblade's got its flame aura around it, too....but for now it's keeping the flames dampd down enough to where nothing's actually catching fire. Sure, follow the cop who just went all medieval. Sure. Witchblade's fully, fully intent on getting blood. With a twist of her wrist, a sword is driven into the unfortunate sawn off wielder's ribs. If he were a fish, he'd be gutted. The Witchblade leaves the sword in. Cruelly, no vital organs were hit. So...being run through, but alive is a fate worse than death, really. Moving along the Witchblade kicks in the next door she comes to, jabbing a sword into the room by way of a hello, come quietly....or get skewered on the end of a blade. Sara's hoping the team are taking the Comets in...and none of them decide to pick a fight or ask too many questions. Sara's not got control. If she loses it fully, there may be job openings if her team get in the way. Same for the SWAT guys around the front. On the plus side...Sara and the Witchblade are headed ever so slowly toward the targets. It's a toss up if the targets will live if Witchblade gets to them and is violent enough. It may be corralled by Sara if she can get enough control....and if the Comets cooprate by getting out of her way and surrendering quietly with no fuss. Like that'll happen, it'd deprive the Witchblade of things to kill.

Hammerhead has posed:
The man' screams of pain echo through the hall as you kick in the next door. There is a football game playing in the background and you stariing into the eyes of five startled Comets, all of them armed. One of them, a short one wearing glasses immediatley throws down his weapons and flees through another door, taking him up a flight of stairs to the second floor. The other four, against all common sense, begin to open fire.

Witchblade has posed:
Once they open fire...all bets are off. Between the fire and swords, yes, swords. One in each hand...the Witchblade's not a fan of being shot at and having its host being threatened. So.....swords, and oh yeahh. Fire. The Comets open fire. Witchblade is far, far more literal with fire. As in, jets of fire. The wounds heal instantly, Sara's pretty sure this is going to go down as 'they fired guns at me'. The problem they are facing the Witchblade and, oh yeah, fire and sharp pointy things with no intention to make them come quietly. Still though, Sara's looking from the Witchblade's eyes as she's a bystander. If. If she can get the Witchblade back undr control...and that's a big ask right now....she may help take the targets in alive, Sara idly wonders what her team's doing. it's not like she can get a grip on the symbiote.

Hammerhead has posed:
The combination of the fire and swords dispathc all of the men in the room ,killing them isstanly. You would hear the heavy footsteps of the SWAT team as they continue the raid, yelling, gunfire, and screams of pain and anger filling the air. You then hear pounding and the voice of the only ganger who fled from you coming from the door he ran into saying," Yo man open up. Something's coming!" Obviously, his buddies won't let him into the second floor.

Witchblade has posed:
Witchblade's coming alright. She's coming...with swords and fire. Which is, well, scary. Witchblade charges at the gangster that's wanting to be let upstairs, though Witchblade is slicing down, slashing, stabbing, and raking over the Comet. Looking over the gangsterthe Witchblade is, well, not happy...but it's calming a little. Still though, Witchblade is still extremely dangerous.

Hammerhead has posed:
As the gangster lets out a scream of horror and pain as he is horrifically killed, You hear the sounds of frantic suffling of feet and something heavy being draggeed across the floor from the dooor the man was banging on. You then hear muffled voices sounding panicked and confused. The steps then run up the stairs to the third floor. If you were to try to open the doorm you would find something heavy blocking it. Obviusly the gangers heard your massacure and though barricading the door would stop you.

Witchblade has posed:
Gathering up her strength, the Witchblade pauses...then charges the door with her enhanced strength. It was barricaded. It's....not. First the fire to melt it, then the barricade. Now Witchblade's got more blades. One in each hand. One between her teet (for style), two poking out of her shoulders, two from her knees and one from each ankle. Walking wall of blades and stabby hurty death, now. Or, accurately, running wall. Running through the door, and chasing down the four gangbangers, the Witchblade isn't going to stop easily. If they lead her to the targets. Good. She throws the sword at the four, then has a coil in her hand, whirling it like a rope. She's doing her best to go for the ankles and bring them down. If only to slice and dice and maim and murder...that is....

Hammerhead has posed:
The gangers are cut down by your blades. Three of them die on impact. The fourth however, falls to the groud, horrifically wounded. You hear gunfire and the sounds of shouting and yelling coming from the next room. This must be where the main gambling den was. No doubt the NYPD and the SWAT team finally made it up.

Witchblade has posed:
The Witchblade slows her run, the gangsters ded. No sense in getting cut down by her own side, so she waits. She waits for it to go all quiet, for the gunfire and yelling to stop.

Hammerhead has posed:
After a few more moments, the gunfire seems to have died down adn you hear the sounds of police radio chatter and the ocaasinal sounds of handcuffs clicking and people yelling curse words. If you were to peek inside, you would see destroyed televisions, slot machines, and comet members either lying dead or wounded from the firefight and other members handcuffed. The polce and SWAT seemed to have done their jobs, except for one issue, Ortega and Cosgrove were missing.

You suddenly see movement in the far corner of the room the polce were in. You see a Comet climbing out the window to a fire escape, where a second one was waiting for him. It was Ortega, and no doubt the second one was Cosgrove.

Witchblade has posed:
The Witchblade's moving across the room, watching the two leaving via the wiindow. With a coil in her hand...the coil lashes toward the window. Intent? To drag them back in. Preferably unharmed. But. But....coil, witchblade, coil, window...and yep...aiming not to hurt the two fhtem...that badly. Then again, it is the Witchblade so it likes violence.

Hammerhead has posed:
You hear a scream of pain and of shock and see the two men being dragged back in, one of them bleeding from the coil. As they are dragged back in, the second man was cut by a shard of glass lying on the ground, mkaing both of them bled. The two men look up at the Witchblade, eyes widened with fear. You then hear footsteps rushing towards you, the police were coming.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara points to the two en. The Witchblade is calming down. When Sara's back to herself, she's got her badge in one hand, and cuffs in the other. Sara's slowly snapping back to herself. Which is....not that less scary. Angry no nonsense Sara it is. She looks to the men, then the police. Sara waves her badge. She's willing to go along with the officers, too.

Hammerhead has posed:
Two of the officers bring up the lieutenants to their feet and start to escort them out of the building. Sgt Hallahan then looks at you and says," Ya got some explaining to do. We lost track of ya after that punk shot at you. I will need ya to give a report once you get back to the station, alright?"

Witchblade has posed:
Sara looks to the SGT. She shakes her head. "I was there when that woman was set on fire. I'll provide a report when I get to my desk" she says. Like she's /any/ willingness to out the Witchblade, though. She'll carefull word the report. Something something stayed put something or other.
