Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy Thompson, ,mechanic, was clearing out her old things. There was a little of everything on the tables set in front of the bay dors to her garage and out on the sidewalk. She wanted to shift things. THere's a bit of everything, from bottles of antifreeze, to tools, to even a car for sale. Mercy's stood by the tables in her coveralls to answer questions. All the stuff just....sorta....showed up in boxes. Red flag #1. She sorted through it and figured what the hell, I'll sell all of it. She found a note from her father asking her to sell this lot. Stupidly, she is. She's aware of her and her father's trickster natures, but she's still thinking nothing's wrong. And she's just opened up, too. There's fresh baked brownies and cookies on a side table with soft drinks, and she's lazing in a chair waiting on customers. The coveralls are her work oness, her hair's braided and oh yeah, steel toed boots on. And given her shi she kai kan training, she can put her feet to use to deal with troublemakers.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
It's a reasonably alright day weatherwise in New York. So much so that it seemed like a good time as any to take a walk. Hair tucked away in his knit cap he is sipping away on some coffee he got from a local coffee shop. As he goes by the garage, it is not the presence of the car that makes him stop. It is the smell of brownies. He looks to the table and then to the woman standing near the tables. "Bake sale?"

Hair tucked away in his knit cap he is sipping away on some coffee he got from a local coffee shop. As he goes by the garage, it is not the presence of the car that makes him stop. It is the smell of brownies. Nick looks to the table and then to the woman standing near the tables. "Bake sale?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus has finished up an appointment at one of the universities here, he's always visiting to keep his charity and himself on their minds. His walk has purpose as he's getting across Harlem back to the shelter.

The collection of items however does indeed catch his fancy. He comes to a stop in front of the table.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy glances up hearing voices. "Oh, no. No. Garage sale. With cookies and things" Mercy says. She just upended the boxes onto the table. Being the daughter of a tricksger, she's all too aware of the potential, and how she'd do things. She's got the food and drinks here in case people get hungry. And, because she loves to bake. She may not be the best at it, but this girl can, indeed, bake. And to a lesser degree, cook.^R
Mercy nudges the chair back and stretches a little, "Hey, what can I interest you in on the table?" Mercy asks gesturing over the items on the tables. Even the cookies and brownies. She knows which are set for pranks, and which are safe. Though she's not saying which is which.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick looks over the rest of the items in the garage sale. The items being offered having little value to him being he doesn't have a car, or a driver's license for that matter. But the brownies do smell good. "How much for a brownie?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus looks among some of the mechanical items, among his many knacks, automobile repair is one of them so, he might find something useful among the pile, "Just trying to clear some of the odd and ends from the shop?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy glances to the brownies. "$1.25 for five brownie pieces" Mercy says then tilts her head at the question. "Oh, yeah I'm clearing out my garage so I can get my tools out and work on more cars" Mercy says with a smile as she settles in. She's hoping, wel, these two don't trick themselves. Well, aside from the quartr on the sidewalk, that wasn't even her doing. Mercy's actually innocent on that one, thankfully.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick frowns slightly at the quoted price before looking to the brownies and the size of the cut. He reaches into his pocket, fishing out a few bills. "That's a good price for me but not for you." He admits, gesturing to the baked goods, "You're factoring in the cost of ingredients but not the value of your time in making them. At the very least you should go for fifty cents a piece."

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus smirks a bit as Nick argues that he wants to pay more for labor. He nods his head a bit, the economist in him actually agrees, he looks over the old car for sale now, trying to size up if it's worth as a project for his students back at the shelter.

"How much for the car? And how bad is it truely?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's not going to turn down people paying way more for the same product. If Nick wants to talk himself into jacking up the price...go for it. Mercy though nods to the cookies. $5 or two. Brownies were a gift to me for working on a rich guy's car" Mercy ads. So she didn't make the brownies. The cookies? All her. "Car's a runner. Old BMW, needs a lot of internal work but it runs" Mercy says, with a nod. "Fifteen five for the car as is. Want a tank of gas? Another fifty, and if you want tools that's another one fifty" Mercy says with a nod. "Anyone want to pick up that quarter though to help pay for it?" Mercy asks. The quarter's glued to the sidewalk. Go figure...and Mercy's hoping to bait one of them into being pranked. She pulls a box of silly string from unde rthe table...mostly because, hey, she likes silly string. The fact it's all different colors isn't unexpected really. Mercy's willing to sell the string for pranks, too.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
One could almost hear the comedic sound effect at the revelation regarding the brownies: Wah wah wah waaaaaaah...

Nick blinks as his assumption regarding who made the brownies is apparently wrong. But well, in a way she still put in labor for the brownies so it makes it alright. Right? He chuckles, handing her $3. "I'll take five of the 'car labor in exchange for brownies', brownies then."

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "Well... Would you be willing to donate it to a charity? I know I'm asking much and perhaps.. you probably want to make a living so it wouldn't exactly be the best deal for you." He notices the quarter now and he bends down and tries to pick it up but it seems to slip his grip, he tries again and yet again. He then attempts to kick it with his toe, "Okay, very funny however did this..""

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's hiding her smile behind a hand. She didn't do that, but it is funny to her, prankster as she is, nodding to Nick she takes the bills then smiles, "Oh, sure. I'll donate the BMW to charity. How much does the charity want for it?" Mercy asks. Good question, as she nods. "You want any tools for the car?" she asks and finally does break into giggling.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick watches as Lucius attempts to pick up the quarter that Mercy drew attention to and smiles as the attempt to aquire the coin fails. Having paid for the brownies, the musician picks up his purchase. "Which charity are you with?" He inquires, curiousity piqued by the discussion about the car.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "What you wanted it for is fine. We actually have tools for automobile repair already, but thank you."

"It's called New Hope Shelter, we try and get people off the streets with job retraining, licensing, and also job placement. I'm actually a pretty good mechanic myself." he mentions as a side note, "I enjoy working with my hands and putting things together to make them work again.""

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy listens keenly with a smile. "I'd like to help out and help the people at the shelter with jobs" Mercy says gently, taking a cookie as Mercy chews on it. Looking over them both she nods. "I've heard of your charity. You do fantastic work"

Mercy looks impressed at Lucius, and then Nick too. The majority of things on the tables are still there, and she's trying to figure out how to sell it all.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
The musician nods, as he the name sounds vaguely familiar. The details are a little less clear as he doesn't think he's ever been contacted by them before, "Is the shelter full family or adults only?" He asks curiously.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "I have a family section that is sadly growing ever so slowly." he sighs, "A whole family left behind is even more disheartening then just an individual." He looks between the other items here, "We are also one of the shelters that doesn't discriminate between those people consider 'normal' and 'mutants'." he even does the air quotes for both words.

He goes to pick up the large claw hammer, expecting it to weight alot but then it simply just bends as if it was made of overcooked spagetti, "Okay, and I thought that quarter was just an accident." he chuckles, "I'm a bit less thinking that at the moment now.""

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick looks to the floppy hammer, cracking a small smile at the sight before thinking back to the charity topic. "Hypothetically speaking, if around certain seasons where stuffed animals are commonly given as presents and someone ended up receiving an unusually high amount of them, could those be of use for any kids that might be at the shelter?

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy goes to speak as more brownies get set on the table. They're a tiny bit bigger but look the same as Mercy's nose tells her that's not a regular brownie. Instead she's liable to put saran wrap over them. Which she does. "I'm not letting you guys have thos brownies. Unles you want to have brownies I had no say in" Mercy explains, then looks at the claw hammer, and begins tapping all the tools. "I need to talk to my father about all this. He sent me these gifts. It runs in the family" Mercy says, "Coyotes are tricksters"

Mercy glances away from the table for a moment to get her phone, and by the time she looks back. Which takes all of five seconds, the pot brownies got stolen by a pair of teenagers. Mercy looks thoughtful. "Hey, that's a win. None of us got high" she offfers, as the quarter's still there, taunting them all....Mercy eyes it suspiciously then fires offf a textt. Shaking her head, Mercy looks at the brownie pieces. The safe, normal ones.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "We'd definitely find a use for the toys and stuffed animals, if I didn't have them in the shelter right now, we'd make sure they are distributed well. I might need to put on a santa suit if neccessary." as Mercy goes about revealing the surprises, "Coyote? How is he a Coyote?" he's heard the reference before but it would be nice to see what she thought it meant. He goes back to the car and opens the door slowly, "It's not going to explode right?""

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy looks over the car with a nod. "It won't explode. It's safe" Mercy nods and looks to Nick then Lucious. "Like I said. Coyotes are tricksters. One in particular. My father's such a trickster"

It's not hard to connect the dots really. Mercy's trying to hint at being the daughter of /that/ Coyote.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick nods, filing it away mentally for later. Ok so the ones he ends up getting on the day of might not be usable but he does get plenty from the senders who are astoundingly early. "Good to know." He offers one of his four to Lucius, "Brownie?" He looks over to Mercy, "Hmm. Coyote? I always figured I'd be either a wolf or raven."

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus has not been getting the usual hidden motives that alow of others give off, these two are generally straight shooters, and the coyote comment seems to be a truthful one, which has him a bit puzzled. "Well, the car sure does look good." He fishes through his jacket and pulls out a donation form, "Never leave home without a few of these. You can write in the worth of the vehicle." He presents the form to Mercy.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods and heads into the garage itself to get a pen, trying not to smile at doing good. She's ctataloged everything on the tables, though....but she's a trickster, but absolutely not mean or cruel. If anything, Mercy comes back with the form fild out and hands it back, she pockets the pen and sits....on a whoopee cushion, getting up and staring at it. "Oh great. I'll go head back inside then, so pick what you'd like from the tables" Mercy offers and takes another cookie. Nom. Nomnomnom.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Brownie not taken, Nick lowers the offered treat so as not to badger Lucius with it, "I think I got what I needed. More sugar." He looks to Lucius, "Good luck with establishing the family portion of the program."

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus takes the brownie before it's withdrawn as if the fact that everyone's chewing on something sweet means he might as well join them. "Don't mind if I do."

He suddenly pauses and looks up a moment as if something just flew over him... and he seems to take a glance to Nick, it's a slightly odd look before he continues to take a few bites of brownie.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy heads back in again after handing the form back. A coyote (about the size of a German shepherd) comes out ant peeks around, before darting under the table. Putting paws on table, jaws go around a wrench. Which squeaks like a dog toy. This gets the coyote to nudge it with a nose, looking at the wrench, a paw hits it and it squeaks again as the coyote's playing with it. Mercy is that coyote, she's looking up at them both and wagging her tail as if this is perfectly normal for her to suddenly shift to a coyote.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With the brownie count down by one, Nick also takes a moment to eat one of the brownies here so he'll have a free hand for the coffee on his walk. Man, these brownies ARE delicious.

The chewing slows a bit as the coyote comes out the door. The musician's unsure of the breed but he knows for sure its not a wolf. He knows for SURE he comes out much larger than that. He's kind of tempted to reach a hand over for the obviously domesticated pup to sniff it but that puts the brownies in his hand too close to the p- SHIT.

Nick shoves the remainder of his purchased brownies into his pockets before stepping over to the table to take the chocolate enhanced treats out of the pup's reach.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus is unsure a moment as the coyote makes their appearance, they aren't known to be the kindest of animals but when it seems to be much more playful then the wild type, he lets out a sound of relief, "I was afraid we were in store for something more violent... but at least this one seems gentle." He watches as Nick hides the chocolate, "amazingly how they aren't toxic to us but them they are."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy stares at the chocolate being hidden, then just...stares more batting the wrench around. She nudges the table a little, though she's watching Nick's poket intently. She can smell where he hid them after all, but she is content to play the role of pet for the moment. Hey, it worked once before. And she's even got a pretty collar with flowers on it with a name tag on. Fido. That's the name she's going by, and the collar jingles as Mercy plays with the wrench. Then she leaps up to her feet, and watches them both as if assessing who is most likely for pettings and who she can sneak treats from. Because Mercy's not your average coyote, she's snacked on cookies before. She's even cleaned out a bowl of cookie dough on four paws and not regretted it. The sanitation department however, very much did.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick steps away from the pup, holding on to the food containers while he looks to the door Mercy went through, "Uh, your pet got out. I don't think she-" Ok yes, collar has flowers, the pet owner identifies the dog as female. Ok good, he's not going to get yelled at for this. "I don't think you'd be wanting her near the chocolate."

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "Yeah, she said her father was a coyote... Do you think..." he looks over the coyote, "This is her father? I know... that sounds crazy. Nevermind me.""

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's less in control of her thoughts in coyote form. So all her thoughts, yes, all, are easy pickings for anyone. They go from the normal, where do I curl up to sleep, to the slightly worrying, have I licked /there/ yet types, to the things that may well blow minds. And all in between. Oh and thoughts from her on two legs. Intimate thoughts, too, and all her thoughts are easy to pick through, too. Mercy's so asking for trouble. And sniffing tail, too, because that's a canine thing. And she glances back at the garage door, then peers at them both, flicking an ear.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
At the suggestion, Nick looks at the coyote. "...It wouldn't be the oddest thing I've come across. Although if that's her father, I seriously misjudged the gender based off the collar." And he sure as heck don't want to go checking the underside of the carriage to confirm especially if that's the girl's dad.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus seems to look like he has head ache now, "Yeah, I... don't know. I need to go. Please if your interested in donating the shelter is a few blocks to the east of here." he pulls out a business card and offers it to him before he starts to head that wya himself, "Suddenly I have a headache" it's a partial truth it more like the dog is giving off some wierd vibes to him right now, he's pretty certain it's thinking like a human.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy watches and peeks over her shoulder. Animal Control. Great. One moment she's there. The next she's in a dead sprint doing 60 and is a long, long ways from her garage. Ever seen a 'yote outpace cars on the street? She's doing that and pulling away too.
