A Little Fall Entertainment
Date of Scene: 28 October 2019
Location: Bushwick (Mutant Town)
Synopsis: Thanks to Andrea's mechanations, which may or may not be for evil, Sam Guthrie and Alexis Carr meet for a most extraordinary date. Italian, flight, a little dancing, and of course a little brooding on rooftops, all the rage among the young superhumans these days.
Cast of Characters: Prismatic, Cannonball

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis had suggested a restaurant that she was familiar with on the edge of Bushwick, called Bene Pozzo. The inside of the restaurant is painted either vibrant red or dusty sage green, depending on which of the smaller rooms you were sectioned off into, Bene Pozzo was a riot of pictures that marginally had to do with Italy, some taken by the owners, some printed off the internet, it had some roughly Italian or Romantic statues placed in odd little alcoves, and a large mural of Italy (and Sically), marking important places like Tuscany, Rome, Venice...

Inside, waiting near the desk, was Alexis. Alexis was out of her normal slightly grungy duds and in something a little more dressy-casual. She was wearing nicer, fitted jeans, with a couple of embroidered fall leaves covering up where they were torn when she had goten them, and a nice black shirt. She had even added a little lipcolor and eyeshadow, though it was very neutral -- mostly just to hide how tired and nervous she felt.

The hostess, in a black dress, was chatting pleasantly.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will actually make it there pretty close to the time he was supposed to. He had the fight the urge to show a bit early but he did not want to seem overanxious. He walks in wearing a pair of black dress slacks, and a purple dress shirt with no tie. He does have boots on instead of dress shoes, He walks in looking around and smiling as he sees her. He does look her over as would most anyone on a first date, and his smile never faulters. "Sorry if Ah am late, traffic was a bit of a pain."

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis stands, and gives a slight smile up to Sam as he walks in. She's wearing just simple flats. They might be a bit scuffed, but they look comfortable, but do nothing to add to her height.

"Nonsense. Fashionably late is within fifteen minutes, and you're in fact just on time." she gives a smile up to him, and looks him over.

"You look nice tonight, Mr. Guthrie. Violet suits you."

And the hostess gives a nice smile, and grabs up a couple of menus and rolls of silverware for them, and motions. The restaurant isn't particularly crowded, there's a few spots of people here and there, but they're lead to a room right near the kitchen. It smells like herbs and tomato and baking bread.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit at her, and says "And you're very lovely tonight. He actually offers her his arm, and will pull the chair out for her once they get to the table "Please Miss Carr, Sam, or if you prefer Samuel. " He grins at her, inhaling he will say "Well Ah gotta say it smells very good here." He will move to have a seat after she is settled in. She may notice he offers her the more secure seat so his back is to the door.

Prismatic has posed:
That is very gentlemanly, and Alexis notes it, accepting his arm as offered and walking with him as they're led to the room. It's a dusty sage green room, with bright white trim and what might be the most tacky two-foot statue of Micheleangelo's David, but its midsection is wrapped in an apron that says 'Italia!'.

She gives a small smile as she's seated, taking up her menu and blushing slightly.

"This is a restaurant I frequent with some regularity, when I can. Their brussel sprouts with prochuitto is very good, but keep in mind their portions feed three or six, depending on if you order the 'large' or the 'small'." she gives a quick run-down. "Family style. Reminds me of..." she trails off a moment, and shakes her head, "So, is this a normal night off for you, Sam, or did you have to take the night off from the club?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Ah had tonight off, ah try to alternate my nights off, giving the assistant managers a chance to have different nights out. Figure it is only fair if Ah have some of the good days off and some of the ehh ones also." He grins a bit and says "Family style, that mean if Ah reach for something to fast Ah get my hand hit with a wooden spoon?" he jokes a bit with her. "Well I will trust you on the food, am pretty sure Italian here will be a bit different than what Ah am used to back home."

Prismatic has posed:
"Only if they provide me with a wooden spoon to hit your hand with." Alexis gives a wry smile, and draws her eyes up over the menu.

"If you have never eaten at a real Italian restaurant, you're in for a treat. Olive Gardens do not count... that's... like a McDonalds to the local burger dive. Totally different animals." she states, maybe a little haughty about the topic of Italian food, and she gives a smaller smile over to him as the water comes up to take drink orders.

"Good evening! My name is Marco, and I'll be your server this evening. What will you be taking for drinks tonight?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmmms "Ah have had a couple times but not very often, and to be honest on my own, Ah would probably just hit a pizza place." He admits "But I am anxious to trying this place, if you say it is good, I trust your opinion." He offers her a smile and as comes he says "Well Ah am driving so Ah think Ah will have a cola." He looks to Alexis and says "May do one glass of wine with the main course, but Since aint sure what we are getting yet, don't want to order a specific type."

Prismatic has posed:
"Very smart." Alexis gives a smile, "I will have sparkling with lemon, please."

The man nods, and turns around to get drinks, and Alexis embarrassedly adds:

"I play here some nights. The owner used to let me set up with the violin outside on the terrace, but wants me to come inside for the holidays to provide atmosphere. True to form, I do not leave hungry." he gives a small smile. "Are you on the motorcycle tonight?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, a bit and says "Yes, would you like to go for a ride after dinner? Ah am sure we can find something to do, where we can rid it to if you want." He will smile and says "Still need to hear ya play it. What songs do you play for them here if Ah may ask."

Prismatic has posed:
"Puccini, mostly, though I'm brushing up on traditional Christmas songs for the holiday season." she explains, thanking the waiter as he returned with the drinks, and she decides to go the safe route -- roast brussels sprouts, and a 3-person serving of their Roman Carbonara, with a little 'trust me' on it, and Marco nods and moves away.

"I'm... actually pretty scared of riding on motorcycles. Or anything that doesn't have a B-pillar." Alexis replies shyly. "I can appreciate their beauty and the care taken in them, but I always worry that I will fall."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Well with the side car it is a bit more stable, but Ah can understand. I can somewhat guarantee that you will be safe if you want to try. Or if not and you like to go fast, Ah could always take you flying." He says softly while it is just them in earshot. " He will give her a smile, as he sees if she catches that he is outing himself to her.

Prismatic has posed:
"On top of running a nightclub and owning a precious motorcycle, you're also a pi--" she pauses, and she catches the look. Her eyebrows go up, her lips purse a moment and she makes a soft 'oh' sound. She breathes out a little sound again, and she weighs options a moment.

"That... is a most curious pospect, Sam... in both cases." she states quietly, and she gives a little smile. "Some people must have all the luck."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit and says "Yes, Ah gotta admit I got pretty lucky there, I look pretty normal and when Ah fly, pretty much can't be hurt. Have some friends and family who are a bit more obvious with their appearance and abilities, but Ah reckon thats part of what brings up both around here trying to help folks who aint quite as lucky as we are."

Prismatic has posed:
"I suppose that is the nice thing about being able to pass," Alexis states quietly, and she looks back to Sam with a small smile.

"I'm... fairly resistent to damage myself. Which, let me say, confuses any nurse at the clinic who's tried to give me an imunization." she explains quietly, folding her hands on the table. She is noticably wearing nice little gloves, in spite of being inside. "There's a few minor side-effects, however."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her a brow raised, but seeing the food brought he will thank the waitress, and make sure Alexis has her food first. After the waitress is out of earshot, he will ask "Mind if Ah ask what, don't really seeing it changing anything here, and if you prefer not to say Ah understand. My brother hid his obvious extra parts till we came out here.

Prismatic has posed:
The plates are brought out, but as it's family style both Sam and Alexis get an empty plate each, and then two large serving platters are produced -- one, the roasted brussels which smell of garlic, cheese and salty, smoked meat, and the other is a bed of pasta, sticky with cheese and bits of crisped, bacon-like morsels and fresh cracked black pepper.

Alexis does serve herself first, taking smallish portions of both.

"I can control it... mostly... but when I lose control of my emotions I tend to change color. I strongly suspect that the... the ability that makes me impervious to peirces also makes me... prismatic." she winces, and gives a little shrug. "Usually in my hands is where it starts. Though my ears have turned blue before."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and nods his head a bit to this and once Alexis has her serving he will get his own. "Smells really good and looks maybe even better." He listens to her speak about her hands, and says "You might be able to control it with some practice. If you learn how to could help you with your detective work I would think." He does not seem put off by it at all, in fact offers her a smile as he tries to point out a way something she is not to trilled with maybe a blessing in disguise.

Prismatic has posed:
"I'm hardly a detective, Sam." Alexis replies quietly, "Just... someone who's fortunate enough to look normal. Not every one of us is meant to be a super hero." she gives a small smile, "But -- you mentioned a brother. How old is he? Did he follow you to New York?" she inquires, stirring some of the pasta with the cheese and helping herself to some.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Your not a private investigator? He will pull out her card and look at it "Ah thought it said." He will show her instructor is smudged it seems ""Sorry if Ah was wrong there, but music is cool to, guess you have seen Ah enjoy that." He offers a grin "He came up here to go to school, and work some, we both send money back to help ma and the little ones back home."

Prismatic has posed:
"I can appreciate taking care of your family. Is he also working with the club?" she questions conversationally. "Is your family large?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head, and says "He is bussing tables, and maybe playing some nights as well." He grins a bit at her and says "Ah guess you could say that, Ah am the oldest of 10.. 11 now that Ma took in Ray Jr." He will tell her. Helping Ma is where Ah learned to cook most of the things Ah know how to cook

Prismatic has posed:
"I... honestly can't imagine that many people sitting around a dinner table." Alexis gives a slight smile. "I'm one... of one." she gives a wry smile. "I have an uncle on my mother's side who is a serial bachelor and an uncle and an aunt to my father's side, who each have two children... laast I knew, in any case." she frowns slightly.

"So he plays, what instruments? Do you play any?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will reach over to give her hand a gentle reassuring squeeze and "Sorry if you have lost contact with them, I have a few friends who have had issues with that." He seems honest;y to care and have sympathy for her with this. "Na, Ah don't really have much talent when it comes to music, much more the fan than the creator. Jay has that talent well covered. He mainly plays guitar, fiddle and piano mostly. He had a bang back home, he was the lead singer and lead guitarist for.

Prismatic has posed:
"Drat.I'm going to have to learn pennywhistle or hang drum if I'm going to beat your brother in the talent department." Alexis replies good naturedly, giving a small laugh. She's blushing a little bit with the squeeze.

"I did youth orchestra when I was younger, that's about the closest I came to playing professionally." she comments -- not entirely true, but not a lie.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Ah have followed a band around or two is about the closest I ever got to being in one." He will eat a some of the food, and says "So, do you enjoy dancing as well as making music?"

Prismatic has posed:
"Mmm--" she chews the brussels sprout in her mouth as she considers her answer, and swallows, being polite.

"Define 'dancing'. Because to some dancing is essentially just wiggling your hips to music." she gives a smile, stirring her pasta.

"... but yes, in a way. I enjoy all aspects of music, but the best is seeing one of the kids when they figure out what key sounds the best for their practices. Learning pieces of pop songs and just the joy they feel at accomplishing something." she gives a small smile. "I don't suppose you get much opportunity for teaching as a nightclub operator?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will smile and says "I get a bit but it aint really tied to the club. " He will look to her, and says "Ah help out at the school Ah went to, during the day. Trying to help kids find their place in life sorta more a guidance counselor than a teacher, but Ah do get to help out some, and yea. When you can teach them something and they actually thing it is cool or fun, it can be one of the more rewarding moments in life. But as I am sure you know teaching can be hard to make the bills with.

Prismatic has posed:
"Depends on where and who you teach. I accepted a pot of goulash for a lesson yesterday. Fresh bread, discounts at a grocer's for teaching their child." she gives a little helpless shrug. "I'm sure I could get more if I taught at an academy, or taught in a music school, but I wouldn't get to see people face to face so much. One of the reasons why I play bars and restaurants." she sips her water.

"And playing Billy Joel earns far better tips than Liszt in most bars."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Ah would think so, so if A may ask if your playing just to relax a bit, what would you play?" He finishes his food, and if she is finished will offer to dish her up some more if she would like it. "Ah can understand that though, Ah get a bit more attention if Ah am dancing with a bit more flash than if Ah am doing ballet moves."

Prismatic has posed:
"Oh! Have you studied ballet?" Alexiis asks of Sam, her eyebrows rising up. It's not precisely popular for guys to dance, she knows, "Orwhat kind of dancing do you do?" she inquires, and she considers a moment, helping herself to more sprouts.

"Well, depends on the day. Some days, Back, other times? Lennon and McCartney. Depends on the day and what's gone n." she gives a small smile.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, we had dance classes while going to school, didn't have a sports team or anything I think it was partially the way they used to get some of the extra energy out of us. I have enjoyed it so have tried t keep up, and learn a few different styles. Have thought about working on Tap, but have actually not tried it.

Prismatic has posed:
"It's a very good way to stay in shape." Alexis replies with a smile, leaning forward slightly as she looks Samuel over with a more critical eye. She purses her lips, then sets her fork down, fingersteepling.

"Most people don't realize how physically fit many of the men on the dance stage are, after all you have to spend your time lifting an holding countless women, and they're /strong/." she gives a grin, well familiar with classical ballet and male dancers.

"I'm not as familar with modern contemporary dance, but I did take a year or two of tap -- I had a fascination with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. In my early teens."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie offers her a smile, and says "Well maybe we can see what we can get together on the dance floor, and see what comes of it." He does look around to see if there is enough room for any dancing at all, and a radio or jukebox they might be able to use. He will ask her, "So whats good for dessert here, Ah am sure we can find a bit of a way to work it off, maybe a bit of dancing, think I might be able to find us a place."

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis turns a bit red, and she looks down at her hands "I've not danced with anyone for.. robably three years." she quietly admits, and she gives a small laugh, "Not since I left the conservitory. It's been a long road." she replies. There isn't much room to do anything fancy, and the music at the sit-down restaurant is pretty plain, vaguely floating about.

"Ah... I suggest either the teramisu, if you fancy sponge cake and espesso, but their mango gelato is also very good."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and smiles at her, and reaches over to give her hand a reassuring squeeze again, and says "Well tonight if your willing, we will find the time, and if you trust me a nice place." He seems sincere, and says "How about we order both and split them?" He grins his charming smile.

Prismatic has posed:
He's pouring on the charm, and the blond Southern boy would find her dark eyes looking back to him with both amusement and a little bit of apprehension.

"I'm going to admit, this is going swimmingly for a first date." she gives a little grin, "First dinner, then flying, then dancing? Goodness, how do you follow such an offering?"

That's when, unbidden, the dessert arrives. As it's family style, it is simply a massive block of teiramisu, espresso cream and chocolate sponge cake, hardly traditional but enough to feed five very hungry young superheroes.

"For the young couple." Marco states wisely, giving a wink to Sam, and moves off humming to himself

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Well, I think they like seeing you out and having fun." He says of the staff here. "Well" He hmms and says "Ah would think it would depend on what time it is and how tired you are. "If your up for something else, we could maybe go to a movie, try to find one of the smaller music clubs listen to some music, or if your tired, I could wither bring you back here or take you home."

Prismatic has posed:
"Well... the night is young --" Alexis grabs up her fork, "And so, Sam, are we." she carves out a little bit of the cake, and lifts it to her mouth a she looks over him with a slight smile, thoughtfully.

"You have been such a gentleman, it seems a shame to make the night end early. What's your preference?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmmms and says "Well lets try the dancing and see what we feel like afterwards. Do you enjoy looking at the stars at night?" He will ask her as he tries a bit of the cake "This is pretty good, they do very good food here, will have to tell my friends about it.

Prismatic has posed:
"Please do. Since they decided they weren't going to exclude customers based on limbs and extra appendages, they've been in need of business." The girl replies quietly, and she looks to Sam and gives a bit of a smile. "All right, dance then. I suppose I could give new music a shot."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and as dinner finishes Sam will ask for the bill, and does not flaunt it or try to hide it as he signs the bill, putting a twenty percent tip on it. He does not make a big deal of it, and even if the bill is more than he is used to he does not let on. "Think they will be ok with the bike parked here for a few hours?"

Prismatic has posed:
"I'd honestly be more concerned with the bike still being here after a few hours. This /is/ Bushwick." the musician states quietly, glad to see that Sam's not going to flaunt his cash, and she goes to stand, dabbing her mouth with a napkin as she raises her eyebrows to him. "So it becomes more of a question of 'how much do we trust the street'?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Hmmms and says "Don't think it would be to much trouble but will move it over to the club, know the security is good there, and if something does happen to it, will be my fault and no one will feel bad about it. "Ah will drive slow if you want to climb in the side car, and we can head out from there?"

Prismatic has posed:
"My life, Sam, is in your hands." Alexis gives a small smile, and she draws up fully, to her full 5'2 height . "Just... no jumping off drawbridges or ramps while I'm in the sidecar, all right?" she gives a little smile.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles at her, and says "I'll save those for when we are flying." He tells her with a grin. It is not far but he does offer her a helmet and his jacket for added protection though. Helping her put on both. "Mind if Ah ask something?" He will ask as they get ready and maybe during the short ride.

Prismatic has posed:
"You've been most forthcoming with your own answers, Sam -- ask away?" Alexis replies, adjusting her helmet -- and accepting his jacket. It's rather large on her. She slips into the side car of the bike, settling in and checking for safety bars and sstrap.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will help make sure she is ready and as he drives along, he will ask her "You said your resistant to needles and such, so was curious about your worry about motorcycles and such, sounds like you would be hard pressed to be hurt on one honestly." He does not ask as if he is putting her down or anything honestly curious if she has realized this.

Prismatic has posed:
"Because I've never seen what happens if I get hurt enough to take a bit of my arm off. I try to pass as human, it's more difficult when everyone can see what's under your skin." she replies gently...

And then, positively flatly but with all seriousness:

"I'm a little afraid that I'm going to look like some sort of killer robot under my skin."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her once they park, and says "Well, I doubt it is like that most often if it is something that is going to change your appearance it happens when your powers kick in, but Ah can understand if your worried about it. If your ever wanting to try to figure out more about your powers Ah am willing to help. You said your hands and such change color, Ah would says what ever keeps you from being hurt is part of you as the color change is.

Prismatic has posed:
"Well, yes, they're tied together. I also get the oddest urge to eat charbroiled items if I get hurt. I got hit by a car once, in Cleveland. I don't reccomend that." she admits, drawing out of the bucket of the sidecar, and looking up.

"Am I going to be allowed in, in spite of my casual wear?" she asks good-naturedly to Sam, turning to offer him the helmet back.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "We could, but Ah was thinking of a bit different place for our dance." He will stand and after helping her out of the side car, he will ask her "Mind if I hold you close for a few moments?"

Prismatic has posed:
There's a moment of hesitation. Alexis looks up and down the street, looking to Sam a moment before she takes a deep breath, and she steps up close to him, feeling rather short.

"Just... don't be too alarmed if I'm a little shakey afterwards. I didn't think my first date ever would be this much excitement."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises a bit as she says her first date not a first date, but he doe snot comment on it, instead just offers her a smile, and pulling her close, suddenly there is a glow around them them a roar, and they are listing into the air and away they go. Up into the air, they are blasting and Sam looks to her "Your safe with me, nothing can hurt ya while Ah am blasting."

Prismatic has posed:
She holds to him lightly a moment, looking up, but the moment that they begin to roar, glowing, she most certainly holds to Sam tighter, one arm around his waist, the other trying to loop around his arm as her eyes go wide, and she presses close to him with a little 'eeek!' sound.

She is looking over her shoulder, trying to see how well she can recognize the city as she shifs her eyes, positively shaking for a few moments in his arms!

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie keeps his arms wrapped around her moving her a bit closer and in front go him so he can hold her with both arms. one around her upper back one around her lower back, but making sure to to grab any place inappropriate. He smiles and says "So like the view?" He has to speak a bit loudly to be heard over the roar but with a bit of concentration the volume of the blast does lessen a bit.

Prismatic has posed:
"Oh!" is all poor Alexis could utter as she's held onto, her eyes looking out over the city as they roar overhead, and she turns her gaze back up to Sam's face, and she gives a wry, little grin -- though she's still holding tightly against him.

"The view from here /is/ pretty grand!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Glad you like it." He will take a long circle of the area, and the heads for one of the higher rooftops. He lands where there is some light and an open bit of roof where they have room, but also can see out over the city "Ah was thinking this might be a nice place to dance."

Prismatic has posed:
They circle the area, high above the city and from there it looked peaceful. The fall colors on drab brownstone at night, the lights from windows and reflecting off clouds casting everything in an orange tint as they touch down against the rooftop, and poor Alexis, who was trying so hard... still holds against Sam, even as her feet touch the rooftop.

"That was mildly terrifying." she whispers to him in admission. "Do you always take the ladies on a flight?" she asks, trying to breathe levity into her own embarrassment.

Her face is, in fact, a brilliant shade of yellow, picking up on the orangey light around them.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit and says "Not always, but Ah figured since my friend sorta got you to admit to being a mutant Ah might should show you my abilities." He rubs her back softly not stepping away letting her stay close as long as she wants. She will pick up he is very athletic from the feel of his body. his blast field fades totally once they are fully on the roof. "Found this place as a decent spot to look at the sky and think. Still not as nice as it could be but least alot of the light is behind ya here.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis gives a slight smile, opening up one eye and taking a look around her before she releases her hold on Sam.

"Don't laugh." she states, and shifting her gloves off a little she looks down at the color, and makes a face, the yellow turning orangey-pink at her fingertips (after all, Sam /is/ a very athletic guy!), and she takes a deep breath, and slowly lets it out. Her skin shifts back to her normal tones, and she heaves a breath.

"... I might have lost my nerve somewhere around Blecker. If you see it, be a dear and catch it?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit good naturedly not at her but with her. "You did well, for your first trip, did not even drop any of the more flowery words that some folks have when they first flew." He grins at her and pulls out his cell phone and with a couple taps on it brings up some slow dancing music and sets the phone on an AC vent or something of the like "May Ah have this dance Miss Carr?

Prismatic has posed:
The vent causes the music to echo a bit, and she gives a smile, tilting her head a moment and listening to the flow. She takes a breath, and offers her hand to Sam.

"I'd be delighted, Mr. Guthrie." she replies, and she steps back into his personal space, bringing her other hand up to his shoulder. With a bit of a stretch.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie puts his hand tot he small of her back, and takes the lead. He seems to have a good feel for the music and the dance. The way the young man moves he must have been telling the trust about the lessons but seems to have natural talent as well. He dances with her in the area around the roof "Ah hope I was not to forward bringing you up here."

Prismatic has posed:
He leads, and Alexis follows along, dancing with him. Her hand squeezes lightly against his as they dance on the roof, and she gives an amused smile.

"I'm still trying to figure out at which stage of 'dating' one would normally put 'flying to rooftops'." she replies good naturedly, slow dancing with the southern boy on the roof. "But this has been a truly grand evening thus far."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit more, and says "Well Ah aint sure when the normal stage would but Ah think it worked pretty nice on a first date so far." He smiles to her, and says "Ah do aim to please when Ah take someone out, even if it might be sorta set up by a friend." He continues to dance with her, changing the pace a bit as a faster song is played next.

Prismatic has posed:
"Does Miss Jackson often play matchmaker in your friends group?" she questions, her eyebrows rising up as they dance. "It seems to me like she was intent on bringing me into your group by either invitation or war of attrition. And I m ust say, this is the most insidious form of warfare. Tempting with fried chicken and good conversation."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "First time to my knowledge but she maybe angling to keep me busy a bit as she just started seeing my little brother." He grins and says "Ah can say while Ah may not know her motives totally, Ah am pretty pleased with the results of it." He grins at the lovely British lady.

Prismatic has posed:
"As am I." the quiet young lady replies as they dance, swaying to the music, her hand curling a little against his shoulder. "I would imagine Miss Jackson would consider this a 'win'." she jokes, smoothing out the violet shirt Sam's wearing a little bit. "I honestly hadn't expected a call back."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks a little surprised and says "And why would Ah not, Ah mean your a beautiful lady, you have a wonderful voice, seems you have the movies of your idles, Ah reckon any guy would be lucky as all blazes to be able to go out with you.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis gives a small, sad smile, "Because, Sam... sometimes none of that matters. You're handsome, polite, sucsessful, overly kind with your time and attentions." she gives a soft grin, and a little shrug, "And honestly, I was beginning to think most American gentlemen were more the 'shout awful things at a girl' type." she helplessly replies, and gives a small laugh, "Ah, well... maybe that's just New York."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Well ah think part of it might be up bringing, but also to be honest, more often the the wolf call type are the louder ones so get more than their share of attention. And Ah would not exactly call them gentlemen. My Pa, god rest his soul would find a way to come back, and beat me within an inch of my life if ah treated a lady like that, at least one Ah did not know and who did not know me."

Prismatic has posed:
"My grandmother would probably be right behind him to help." the dark-haired girl replies. "Waving her cane and everything with a variety of tactful yet cutting phrases." she gives a smile. "In their case, 'gentlemen' is a very, very loose term. I've only really just met you, I don't think I could start in with the more colorful language."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Well Ah know a few people who would blush at the thought of some of those type words, but also know a few who might have trouble communicating with the outside world if they did not exist." He jokes. The next song on the play list comes a more modern song by Lila Cheney, and he dies get stiff for just a moment.

Prismatic has posed:
"Mm. I wasn't allowed crass language. Very un-lady-like." Alexis replies, and she pauses in her dancing, feeling Guthrie's reaction. She blinks, and she weighs on whether to ignore it, or to inquire, and she gently brings her hand from his shoulder to his arm.

    "Sam, are you all right?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Yea, Ah just did not think Ah had any Lila on this playlist, sorta feels a bit odd to be dancing with someone else to her music." He admits to the woman. Mind if Ah skip to the next song?"

Prismatic has posed:
Her eyebrows go up, and she rubs the back of her head a moment as she takes a step back. She pulls some of her hair back behind an ear, blushing a little and se takes a deep breath. "Of course." she states, and then gently "A friend of yours?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will reach over and pause the music actually, and reach to take her hands if she lets him "Well being totally honest, yea she is a friend, but has been more in the past. Ah am really enjoying tonight, and really enjoy being with you, but well just felt like Ah was not being honest with you if Ah was dancing with you to her music without you knowing there was a past.'

Prismatic has posed:
"Sam... this is just a first date." Alexis replies gently, squeezing his hands. "An... utterly fantastic and incredible first date, but nonetheless two weeks ago we were complete strangers." she gives a small smile, and looks up at him.

"You don't owe me any of your past, only what you want to share, but I can understand having feelings..." she stammers a moment, and then she take a breath, and whispers out:

"There is nothing in any ediquitte book I've ever read that has a guide on this."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit and says "Well, Ah understand it is a first date, and we are just seeing how we get along and if we want to go out again, which Ah do hope we do go out again, but did not want any possible awkwardness from you finding that out in the future or something. Ah mean if something clicked and we um...." he blushes just a bit "had a moment, and one of her songs was on during it and you found out later without me telling you, it might be upsetting when ya found out."

Prismatic has posed:
"Better than most of the music I listened to when I was young. A whole bunch of white men in powdered wigs who have probably been dead for centuries." she adds wryly, and she squeezes Sam's hands lightly, watching him blush.

"And I think I should like a second date. Awkward moment inclusive." she smiles, and releases one of his hands, reaching up and brushing her fingers through some of his blonde hair. "You're a very thoughtful gentleman, Mr. Guthrie." she teases, very gently.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie blushes again and says "Ah would like that too." He grins a bit and says "Another thing probably should tell you up front, might be a bit before Ah can do the chicken. Right now Ah am still living at the boarding school Ah mentioned Ah helped out at. A friend and Ah are looking at getting ourselves a place together in town. We don't know how much either of us would be there for sure, but it would make both our lives easier when he does not want to have to drive out to where he stays or I don't want to drive out, or want to have a lovely lady over.

Prismatic has posed:
"Oh, completely understandable." Alexis blinks. "I'd offer my apartment, but... I don't think a hotplate and an electric grill really contribute much to fried chicken." she gives a small laugh, her hands clasping behind her back.

"How far off is this boarding school?" she questions, eyebrows rising up. "Perhaps I could... make a visit out there?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "About an hour and a half or so by car, and if your interested Ah can ask, have to get permission to bring folks onto campus who is not related to the students and such, but ah will what Ah can do." he grins and says "Ah could probably cook it on a hotplate but might be a bit smaller batches than I am used to. Andrea offered me use of her condo here in town if Ah wanted to use it, Ah do think she is working on us both." He offers with a grin."

Prismatic has posed:
"I'm mostly joking. Unless you want to book a fabulous presentation of mutant musical talent, then perhaps both Andrea and I could attend." she offers in jest, and she smiles, then motions iwth her head to the side of the building, looking off at the sky and the city beyond them.

"Were you looking in Bushwick?" she inquires softly.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and will lead her to the side, and sits with his legs hanging over the edge, offering her a spot beside him. "Yea, we are looking at it, thinking about getting a three bedroom if possible, he works at X-corp and it keeps him rather busy." He says of his friend. "Hoping one day that we have people more mixed in mutants and humans in other places as well. Figure though it will always be known as mutant town though.

Prismatic has posed:
"Or Freaksville." the musician adds with an air of bitterness to her voice as she sits on the side as well, her legs dangling off. "More than once patrons have had to be ejected from bars I'm playing because they kept trying to figure out who was a freak and who was a normal human."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrienods his head a bit to this and says "We had things like this back home before Ah was born, and ma and pa told me about them. Ah just hope with time, we are accepted as others have been in the past. Sometimes ah think a lot of folks just need someone to fear and hate."

Prismatic has posed:
"You're not wrong. There has always been an 'us' and 'them'... good lord Brittish History is rife with it." Alexis states quietly, her nose wrinkling. "Much to their own chagrin."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will put his arm around her, and says "People are ah odd bunch but we have to hold out hope and keep working for change. Not just for ourselves, but others as well. If it was not us, would be metahumans, aliens, or something. As much as it brings out the bad folk at least we do get to hear about the good folks some as well." He rubs her arm.

Prismatic has posed:
"I'll settle for parents stopping being crappy parents to their mutant children." Alexis replies wryly. "I can't expect the whole of humanity -- mutant or otherwise -- to change overnight. It's not as if someone can entire alter the face of reality.. but I understand their fear. That they will be the unpowered minority... and then what? Depend on the altruistic nature of a few mutants to defend them from ourselves?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "One of the problems they don't seem to understand is, and this goes double for the parents who treat their kids bad for being a mutant. They are enforcing the idea to make the young mutants, those coming up, be on the defensive, mistrust, and even hatred back the other way. This may sound bad, but sometimes Ah think Ah can understand the folks who are violet to mutants more than the folks who just hate us and are bad to us but don't attack us.

Prismatic has posed:
"... I don't know if I will ever fully understand it. There are plenty of normal human beings who are utter monsters, horrible deeds done before there were superhumans on every block." Alexis whispers, "On one hand, I want to help so badly. /So/ badly. On the other... I don't think my parents would understand why I left."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Want to tell me what happened, and why ya left? Maybe there is something Ah can do to help you fix things somehow? " He will ask and seems sincere on wanting to help her.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis shakes her head a moment, and looks back to Sam as her brows rise up, and she gives a weak smile.

"I think perhaps that might have to wait for a later date, Sam. A lady must keep some air of mystery, after all." she replies quietly, but she does lean against his shoulder.

"... but trust me. It's better for my family if I keep away."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and rubs her arm keeping her close as she rests her head on his shoulder. "Well, Ah want pressure you Alexis, but if you ever want to talk about it or try to fix it Ah will help in any way Ah can. We have ups and downs, but hopefully more ups than down. And if you ever have issues with someone bothering you, you contact me and Ah will come blasting over to help ya deal with them.

Prismatic has posed:
"You're too kind, but a lady sometimes needs to fight her own battles." she states gently, giving a small smirk.

"... once I learn how to throw a punch it's all over for those jerks."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Well, I can help with that too if you want." He will admit to her, and says "Maybe show ya a bit about some self defense moves if you want." He looks to her and says "So, what would you like to do now, Ah figure Ah should ask, or Ah will keep ya here just talking all night." He grins at her."

Prismatic has posed:
"Don't know, spending the night discussing society's ills with a nightclub manager-slash-private-school-assisstant does sound appealing..." she trails off, then gives a sigh, scooting back to draw to a stand.

"... but I have a piano lesson to give in the morning." she explains gently, her arms clasping in front of her again as she gives a small smile, her shoulders rising up. "But I would like to see you again."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will stand and move to get his phone pocketing it, and says "Ah would like that too would you like me to drop you off back at the restaurant, or someplace else? We can fly, walk or go get the boke which ever you prefer."

Prismatic has posed:
Sam would get a smile, and Alexis shakes he rhead. "I don't think I'm too far from my place, I can just walk home from here." she states gently. "I will, however, continue to look forward to your fried chicken... and... maybe I'll come by the club sometime. You'll have to let me know when you're working."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods and says "Ah am most nights, and if your wanting to hang out Ah can always come on out to town. "Well, let me help you t the ground floor?" He will smile, opening his arms to her with a grin.

Prismatic has posed:
"... you're intent on making me turn other colors now, aren't you?" she asks wryly, and Alexis shakes her head, stepping closer and looping one arm around Sam's for security. "A most extraordinary first date indeed."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and will pull her close, and says "Me, just know your safe with me." And with that he steps off the edge backwards making sure they are not going to hit any antennas or flag poles or such. Ah can limit the time your exposed to the field." he says, having not engaged the field yet, and they are about a quarter of the way down.

Prismatic has posed:
"Sam.... /Sam/..." they fall, and Alexis's eyes go wide, yellow creeping from her ears and neck. "Samuel Guthrie this is not funneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" she protests, wriggling against his arms a little, her eyes squeezing shut.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie does kick his field in pretty quick, once she seems to not be enjoying the freefall. "Your safe, we are not falling any more," He will tell her "You can open your eyes, Ah would not let anything happen to you Alexis."

Prismatic has posed:
"Look, logic and trust say 'he would not let me get hurt', however that little part in my brain goes 'oh dear lord the man's mad'!" Alexis mutters against him, but she does open her eyes, one at a time, to make sure they're all right.

"That is going to take some getting used to."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit and says "Well so ya know three stories or up kicking it in is simple for me, probably could kick it in on first floor, but would not press it that close with you. Ah had figured about a quarter of the way left Ah was going to kick in." He looks into her eyes as they land probably a bit more pressed to one another with the wigeling.

Prismatic has posed:
ALexis is trying to look stern and not give a nervous smile. Especially at the physical closeness. She gives a cough, trying to recover some of her cool, stepping away as she regains composure, looking up at the taller Sam, and she exhales in a huff.

"You may know yourself well, Sam, but I was /this close/ to trying to flip you over and take the brunt of the damage myself. And then you might have felt bad, and that would be a horrible way to end a date!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "True, but does tell me a bit about you." He will bring a hand up to touch her cheek softly "Your not sure what hurt you can take, and even if ya thought I was being a jerk, you were still willing to risk yourself. You my dear Alexis, are good people."

Prismatic has posed:
"Of course I was willing to take that chance." Alexis whispers, "... what decent human being wouldn't?" she asks, feeling that touch to her cheek, and the yellow that was creeping in turns to red as she blushes, forcing that yellow back down before she exhales in a little huff. "Besides... I could probably take a three story fall. I'd just... be very sore the next morning."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will step in closer, and says "Well as long as your with me Ah promise to do my best to not let you be hurt." He will start to lean down towards her. his hand still on her cheek.

Prismatic has posed:
Her cheek is hot to the touch, her eyes half closed as he leans towards her, the shorter Carr giving pause before she takes a half step back. Her ears are indeed a bright color, and she seems to struggle to keep her prismatic nature to herself just this moment.

"... n-noted. Very useful information, for the future, in case of minor superhroing or good deeds." she states stiffly. "Well, Mr. Guthrie... Sam... it has... been an incredible night." she squeaks.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head and does not force the kiss he was going for. He will offer her a smile and says "Well, until next time?" he offers her his hand for a handshake."Ah enjoyed tonight Alexis and hope you did as well."

Prismatic has posed:
"I... truly did, Sam. Thank you. You'll have to let me know your schedule, and we'll have another rendezvous." she smiles, "And, perhaps next time, I'll feel a little braver." she smiles, and accepts the handshake, holding his hand gently.
