Cast of Characters: Shredder, Daredevil
Cast of NPCs: Kingpin
Tinyplot: City Fall

Shredder has posed:
It used to be that Fisk's men were crawling around Hell's Kitchen, before the Foot took over. It can't be denied that the crime is a bit less chaotic than it has been. It's almost as if there's an army guarding the streets at night. If only that army was the good guys. The crime that has been happening often is undiscovered until it's too late. with the Foot Clan's propensity for covertness, the cancer of crime hides beneath the surface.

Fisk himself had aligned with the Shredder until the Hook Drug had come out, and he decided that it was greener pastures to go it without the Foot.

Since the Foot's public declaration of war, Fisk's men have been almost invisible, doing whatever can be done to stay quiet, and stay out of sight. Normal ways to get the attention of a street hero like the Daredevil...well, they aren't very effective since the Foot is likely to have someone closer to the action given their network is quite literally everywhere in the city. So what did he do? He hired some kids to do vandalism. Something too low level for the Foot to care about, but in hopes to gain Murdock's attention. The kid had a letter from the Kingpin himself, though he may not be called that as of late. He wanted to meet at Fisk Tower, and he had a proposition for him.

Daredevil has posed:
As it turned out, Fisk's plan worked. Matt hadn't been in the suit much, he'd been too busy saving the world in the court of law. Foggy was happy, Karen too, Elektra, of course when they talked on the phone, was midly amused. Matt though was antsy, he needed to get out so a little 'broken windows' vigilantism was just what he needed. Unfortunately nothing's ever that easy. He found the note, and once the kids had been run off he removed his glove and ran his fingers over the page, his delicate senses picking up the indentations and the feel of ink well enough to read the invite.

"Fisk," he says as he crumples the note and tossed it into the gutter.

A few hours later, Daredevil appears at Fisk Tower after spending some time sussing it out with his senses making sure there wasn't a trap waiting for him.

When he's sure, he simply walks up to the door, arms raised, and lets Fisk's people take him to the man himself.

Shredder has posed:
There is mild surprise by one of the security, and a deadpan response from the other, perhaps indicating a difference between their experience. All the same, there's a little bit of a quickened pulse from both of them. The Daredevil has long been a terror on their activities. They did as they were instructed, and soon the Daredevil is several stories up past the chandeliers of the lobby and to the chandeliers of a small meeting room. Not a board room, there's no sense of windows that come from an external wall. Just a small meeting room in one of the inner offices of the building. Fisk is already there by the time Matt arrives, sitting plainly in his white suit, not that Matt ever could see the color. His pulse is steady, which is probably not a surprise, and he glances up in Matt's direction as the door is opened, a remarkably neutral expression on his face. He doesn't stand.

Daredevil has posed:
Matt's stance is neutral as he's lead into the room, but his senses are kept sharp, focused on his surroundings, wary for any trap he might have missed. After all, he was in the belly of the beast. Then it happens, he's face to face with Fisk across the small meeting room, that's when tension shows in how he holds himself, as he restrains the urge to leap across the table and lay into the man with his fists.

"You wanted to talk, I'm here, so talk," Matt says without concern for any of Fisk's vaunted civility.

Shredder has posed:
"Always so quick to go to the meat, aren't you?" comes the Kingpin's response. "Let's say what is obvious, then. I hate you. You hate me just as much. Over the years you have been a thorn in my side, and I'd love nothing more than to see you out of my way for good." He runs a finger idly along the edge of the table, and finding an imperfection in the smoothness, digs his fingernail against the offending bump until a small tick sound can be heard as the speck of finish is rectified.

"But you haven't been my concern as of late. Maybe you like that. I'm willing to bet that you don't, though, because I think we both know what my concern has been, and I think he's a concern of yours as well."

Daredevil has posed:
Matt considers, Fisk, giving one of the impudent grins of his, "Figured I'd save us the aggrivation of being in the same room togeather," he says of getting to the meat. He does however nod at what Fisk has to say. "Yeah, you'd like to take me out, and I'd like to see you rot in jail for the rest of your life," he says, the plates and rough fabric of his suit rasping sightly as he crosses his arms.

"You're not wrong," Matt says. "Shredder is definitely a concern, but why the sudden change of heart, Fisk? The way I hear it you were one of the first to sign on with him."

Shredder has posed:
"I was," he admits. "And it seemed the right call at the time." One eyebrow cocks upward. "It wasn't quite as lucrative as I hoped it would be. I think it was more profitable before the Foot took control. There are too many restrictions expected of me now." He lets a beat fall. "You know how I hate restrictions. I'm not the only one. From what I understand, you and your friends allied with him against the Hand. He's done what you want, far more order in the streets, but you still want to fight him."

Daredevil has posed:
Fisk had him there, he had allied with Saki first, to defeat what he felt at the time was a greater evil. He still didn't feel it was wrong, after all it had gotten him Elektra back, but the point stood.

"Sure, there's order, but I think we both know Shredder won't stop at the streets, he's been twisting the courts since the beginning and once he's dealt with the holdouts in the underworld, he'll turn his eyes to city hall, if he hasn't already and really be running things."

Shredder has posed:
"Oh, his influence there is strong already," Fisk answers. "Very. Gotham is in a civil war, and my expectation is that with the Batman dead, it's likely Shredder will soon control that as well." He takes in a deep breath through his nose. "But Shredder isn't interested in New York. He's interested in everything. New York is just a launching platform. He has plenty of power in cities around the globe, and he thinks he can puppet the world if he can take the right cities and make them fully his." He stands up, that monstrous figure towering high. "I find that to be unacceptable. As much as I thought I could gain by joining with him, the Shredder uses people until he has expended their use. If I follow that line, by the time I have expended my use to him, I won't be able to stand against him." He walks to a painting on the wall, examining it.

"During World War I, there were two detachments at Kovno-Wilna-Minsk. Russian and German soldiers. The winter was harsh, and there was little food in the region. Packs of starving wolves targeted the two groups, and they started to pick off the soldiers one at a time." The Kingpin turns around. "The soldiers used all of their resources to figh back. Even using their grenades, but no matter how many they killed, another pack would soon take the place, drawn by the blood and noise. The German and Russians, both facing defeat, signed a truce, and together, they embarked on a hunt to find every wolf they could in the area, saving all of their lives."

Daredevil has posed:
It's clear by Matt's frown he hadn't heard of how far things had spread. "Then we need to stop him here, and take down Shredder when we do, so there's no one left to coordinate any other takeovers." There's no reaction to Fisk standing other than a subtle shift in his stance to accomodate for it in any potential encounter. Though at this point that was just precaution.

He turns his head towards the painting, but even to Matt's keen senses it was nothing more than a blank shape against the wall, unable to see the gradients of colour, only smell the faint scent of the paint and canvas.

Matt takes the story in and nods, "Makes sense," he says of that truce, and the one that was being talked around now. "Though, what happened when the wolves were dead?" He suspected he knew.

Shredder has posed:
"Oh, they went back to trying to kill each other, naturally," Fisk says. "I have enlisted others to try to help. I have heard rumors of some mutated animals that have a vendetta against him. I think I met one of them the other night. I want to make sure we understand each other, though. I agree that we should take the Shredder down, because the entire network is built to serve him," he says. "If the network is destroyed, it only delays him, he will try again. We need to kill him, not sent him to jail, as much as it may offend your personal convictions."

Daredevil has posed:
"Naturally," Matt says, at least they agreed on that much. This deal was temporary, and when it was over, it was back to status quo. That worked for him.

The mention of mutated animals get's Matt's head to turn, "What sort of animals?" thinking of the Turtles he'd met in Brooklyn.

Though it's the last part where Matt, predictably has a problem. "I can't let that happen, Fisk," he says, even if Saki's death would fix a lot of problems. "So, I know you're going to try, and I'm not going to stand here and debate right and wrong with you. Just know, if I can, I am going to stop it and see him face real justice for his crimes."

Shredder has posed:
"Hell seems as true a justice as can be asked for," Fisk answers dryly. "You do what you like, but I am going to kill him. Or we could go around in circles and argue about it until we ourselves are both killed off. I won't make you kill him, but don't think I won't try to kill him myself. He's far too dangerous to leave as a loose end." He places those giant hands on the table. "There was a dog of some sort," he says, "And I know there are turtles of some sort. They've been urban myths for a long time, to see an actual one of them, it was odd. But if they have an axe to grind, all the better."

Daredevil has posed:
"Not our choice who goes there," Matt says with conviction. "Or who gets sent to judgement." Though they both know Matt doesn't have the reach or the resources to stop Fisk from carrying out his threat. Once Shredder is out of Matt's hands, he's on his own, and given all that he's done, Matt finds he can live with it, and that much shows on his face for Fisk to read. Daredevil might stop an attempt in front of him, but he's willing to go no further than that to save Shredder.

"I think I've met the Turtles, I'll reach out," he says. "There a general battle plan or we all just attacking on our own all at once."

Shredder has posed:
Fisk doesn't bother continuing the debate. "Doctor Octopus is looking to hit his reputation for protecting his allies. I think someone hit that a little already a while back by posing as the Foot. I never found out who, though." Of course, it was Elektra. "I'm going after his political pull, and a few are going after his finances. We just need someone to go after him." He opens the door. "Happy hunting."
