Synopsis: Andi discoveres the costume Shop Alice works at and ends up rending the goddang Advanced Enclave Power Armor for a weekend party.
Cast of Characters: Red, Andi Benton

Red has posed:
Close to mutant town, there's a little costume shop. The windows bear the name in big lettering, a neon sign proclaims it's open, a sign in the door telling they have rentals, sales and custom orders. An enclave power armor with gatling laser stands in one window, looking menacingly at a Grim Reaper and his riders. The other window shows a Stormtrooper as well as RiffRaff and Minerva facing off with IT. The front room of the shop isn't large, the walls lined with posters from movies, folders of costumes to rend or order lining the front counter, while above it some props - almost like right from the movie - hang. Including the iconic Flamethrower from Aliens. Not that it was working.

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton had a day off, so she decided to hop on the subway and ride it around until she reached a neighborhood she hasn't checked out yet. Not having to worry about cutting things short to get over to the Hot Topic in time for her shift was nice, and though the clouds suggested rain was on the way, the temperature was nice, right around 60. It didn't even really require a coat if she kept moving.

Today she was in the unitard with the purple dress over it, allowing the frayed sleeves and leggings to show. It was pretty punk if she did say so herself, and the eyeliner and various accessories further established that. The short young woman's blue eyes were up, a hand brushing through her purple hair as she kept watch over her surroundings. Unknown neighborhood, you had to be careful. Eventually she reached the exterior of the costume shop, something catching her eye. Grim Reaper? Alien Flamethrower? "Fucking cool," she says to herself, deciding to open the door and head in.

Red has posed:
The doorchime was some shrill music, into which a tuba mixed, then some strings. The Friday the 13th theme. Matching, so close to Halloween. A moment later, Alice stepped to the storefront from the workshop, wearing a T-shirt, a skirt and boots that clearly went up all the way to her thighs. Without a single lace or buckle. "Heya, what can I do for you? It's the season, so are you looking for something specific? Our stocks are dwindling though, many people have aready ordered theirs."

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton glances up at the sound made, immediately recognizing it. She gives a faint sniff, though whether it's an approving one or not is tough to tell. It's probably not even noticed, since it's a few more seconds before anyone else is even seen. And, when Alice is spotted, Andi gives her an appraising look up and down, her hands resting at her hips. "Some people think every day is Halloween for me," she offers dryly before noting, "Nice boots." Be nice, Andi. Be nice. She's in the same position you are, working for probably a tiny check.

Red has posed:
Alice smiles as she nods, shrugging a little. "Oh? Thanks, they're a ittle tricky to get on, but worth the look. So, what brings you here? Just curious or on the hunt for something specific? Let me guess... theme party?"

Andi Benton has posed:
"Tricky? Tricky how?" Andi asks, moving in further for a better look at what the shop's got, but also those boots. How high the heel is, the material. Maybe a pair in her collection would be good. "I was just looking around the neighborhood. I'm kind of new here. I have to work on Halloween, though. Some birthday, right?"

Red has posed:
Alice has nearly no heel on those killer boots - probably a shame to people, how snug they were to the legs within. Not natural leather though, synthetic... and no sign of a zipper. Not even a sign of a seam. "Ah, too bad you gotta work, but you surely have the night off for some kind of fun, do you?" the redhead asks, leaning onto the counter a little. "Some Birthday?"

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton's only in a pair of Chucks, looking as well-worn as the rest of her outfit. It's certainly not new..or it could be newer but just made to look ratty in places. "Got nowhere to be tonight," she confirms, gesturing with a palm up. A few bracelets encircle the wrist and shift a little at the movement. Another glance toward the boots probably leaves her with more questions than answers, but she says instead, "I was born on Halloween. You can guess what most of my presents ended up being." Her tone is a little flat, there.

Red has posed:
"Movies and costumes? Well, then you're well decked out, aye?" Alice notes, reacing for a thick binder abeled halloween on the spine. "Well, I'm still debating what I'll wear, but then again... I made all these over the last years..." Flipping the folder open, she shows off some of the stuff she made in the back room. Some of the stuff in there was like almost historically accurate... if genderswapped. And all guns with orange plugs.

Andi Benton has posed:
"You did?" Andi asks, raising a brow by a few purple bangs. "All by yourself?" She leans over the binder for a look at some of the things in it, but pointedly ignores the cutesy, colorful stuff. Seems her tastes shift more toward the dark, the brooding, the more..dangerous when it comes to costumes. After all, she has that 'look' about her with her attire, as if she enjoys that sort of thing.

Red has posed:
"Oh, I work in the shop, I work on the stuff. Not all by myself. I mean, I use power tools and stuff to make costumes. If you look for something specific, I can look it up, maybe we got it, or if you want to have it custom, we might make it, though till thursday is a little tough, if you want something complex. But a simple, personalized stuff? Could possibly be done." Alice explains as she lets Andi work through the folder. It covers like all the spectrum.

Andi Benton has posed:
"Hmnf. They already said no costumes at work. I heard there might be a party over the weekend, but I don't know many people around here yet." That must be how knew Andi is to the area. If Alice happens to know accents, hers is distinctly Philadelphia through and through, but not South Philly, not North Philly. Definitely Philly, however. The visitor continues to rifle through pages, pausing on a few of the more horror-based things. Aliens, exos, monsters, things like that.

Red has posed:
"No costumes at work doesn't prevent you from wearing everyday stuff that just happens to be exactly what some as JAnet Weiss in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I mean, a summer dress, aye?" Alice teases. "Or a dark blue dress and an apron to get the Wonderland look. A green onesie with patches might be considered costume, but light blue cargo pants and a white T-shirt? Totes Ripley too."

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton waves a hand at this. "If I'm going to do a costume, I want to really do a costume." If Alice knows what she means. She looks over a few more photos in the book, glancing toward the woman and her boots again, wondering, "So do you have anything really out there, if I'm going to try something on?"

Red has posed:
"Anything? Well, I got like a few hundred costumes in the back. And a room to change. So if you have your eyes on something..." Alice says with a shrug. "some of the best costumes don't look like soe on the first look."

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton coughs once, just like clearing her throat. "Yeah, people might look at me and think I'm pretending to be punk or whatever." In actuality? They're probably right. Many appearances are just a front, a way to hide or to project a different image. She acts like she's beyond some of the things others are into, yet as she's been looking over the costume examples, enough of a pause has followed on various things beyond just 'spooky horror' that Alice might have noticed. Not so much cutesy stuff, but a few more mainstream looks. Action/adventure characters, cartoon costumes, mascots, things like that. "Why don't we just have a look?"

Red has posed:
Alice chuckles and points to the folders all accessible. "All that in there, pick something and I go and grab it. The stuff dislikes to be in the light all the time, so storage is dark."

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton's expression thins out and she flips a few more pages of the book, closing her eyes. "We'll do it this way." Finally, she randomly points at a picture without looking: werewolf.

Red has posed:
Alice chuces as she eyes the number in the corner of the page. "Excuse me a minute, I check if that's still in. But I guess..." she leaves to the backroom and seems to rummage a little, returning with a plastic box some minute later, putting it onto the counter. "Ah here... Mask and gloves and a leather jacket. Jeans and T-shirt you need to have yourself.

Andi Benton has posed:
While Alice is looking around, Andi steps away from the book to have a closer inspection of the Grim Reaper and the Alien Flamethrower from before. She's spotted peering at the weapon when Alice gets back with the box. "Hmm? Oh." It's not a full outfit? "A werewolf?" She hadn't even looked, content to keep with the surprise as she returns to open up the box and pull out the mask, looking it over before trying it on.

Red has posed:
"Well, it's the 'I was a teenage werewolf' costume you picked there. Gets you a bottle of mastix to go with it." Alice explains as she pushes the box over. "You glue the mask parts on, put on the gloves and there you go. If you wanna go full werewolf... if you'd have come like a month ago I could have made you a full on fursuit or stuffs. Such stuff really takes time to work on, but it's worth it. Fursuits are buy-only by the way. Just like a lot of the spandex and neoprene stuff. You can't get it dry cleaned. Oddly enough that is what pretty much is what most of the hero people wear."

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton removes the part of the mask she'd tried on so far, giving it a closer look. "Wellll, I don't think we need to go all the way with gluing stuff on right now, but I get the idea. I remember the old movies where they used to do it that way." She admits, "I don't really make a lot of money. I've just got a crappy sort of part-time job in a mall. I hear some of that other stuff is really expensive."

Red has posed:
Alice says, "Mystery Science Theatre I think. And yea, a fursuit can be like.. some two to three grand, while a lookalike of one of those hero suits can be some couple hundred dollars. Other costumes are rather cheap. Scarecrow for example is kinda a low budget one." Alice contemplates."

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton grimaces at the prices quoted, and she almost gingerly begins to set the box back on the counter just in case. "Maybe I should wait for some stuff to go on clearance," she says with a mild frown. "There's a big gap between what I'd like to wear and what I think I can afford to wear."

Red has posed:
"Well, yea. though that are buy prices, and rent for a halfmask is quite affordable. 10 for the mastix and 20 per day for the mask. In comparison to some other costumes that's a steal."

Andi Benton has posed:
"That's not so bad, then. Do a lot of people rent instead?" Andi asks, looking around. "This place looks like it could hold a lot more, unless you've got a bunch of stuff in back you just rotate in when space opens up."

Red has posed:
Alice says, "Yea, that's the biggest buisiness. Renting costumes and suits and stuff. Most actually is in the back. That's why we have all those catalogues here..." Alice explains, pointing to the folders. "Would be really cramped to have everything up front. And allows to decorate seasonally.""

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton wonders, "Do you have any favorites, then? Something someone like me might look good in, even if I rented something for the weekend? There's just so much in there." Maybe...maybe suggestions would get her on another path. "I heard there might be a party or two this weekend since Halloween is on a weeknight."

Red has posed:
"Well, Ellen Ripley is easy to do and kinda cheap. I got a nice French resistance costume set... here..." Alice says, flipping in another folder to the right page. "Or, if you wanna spend a hundred for the night... Be a stormtrooper or enclave soldier."

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton rubs her chin, toying with the choker she's got on. "At least you don't do all the 'sexy this, sexy that' stuff and nothing else. There's no such thing as 'sexy ketchup bottle.'" At least, she seems to be considering the last two options. "Enclave is like from one of those games, right?"

Red has posed:
"Fallout series, yea. That in the window is the advanced version from the second installment. We also got a T51 in storage. Though I gotta warn you, they are kinda heavy after some time." Alice notes, flipping through another binder to show the other armor.

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton squints at Alice. "Not that I'm saying no, but do I look like the type of person who's going to be going around in something heavy for hours?" That does not mean she isn't curious - she's already shown some interest in a few different things - but there are probably limits to what she could reasonably handle. "I bet it looks cool, though."

Red has posed:
"Cool and nobody knows who you are. I mean, until you tell them..."

The walkthrough the inventory goes on for some time before Andi finally decides on something: the very Advanced Enclave Power Armor from the window. "Ok, you want to pick it up Friday?"

Andi Benton has posed:
Andi Benton gives a thumbs-up to this. "Yeah, and you need it back Sunday or Monday, or what?" They'll hammer out the rest of the details on this, such as when to pay and all that. Maybe she actually /will/ go out and have some fun this weekend as a late birthday present to herself.
