Ivy Island: Harboring harbor woes
Date of Scene: 30 October 2019
Location: Isley Gardens, South Channel Island
Synopsis: Goon working for the Falcone crime family are charging people to evacuate Ivy Island. Batgirl comes in to assist, then gets a bit more information on what's happening behind the Vine Curtain.
Cast of Characters: Poison Ivy, Spoiler
Tinyplot: Ivy Island

Poison Ivy has posed:
"Mainland, this is Precinct 772, Namwich Island." The broadcast had trouble getting through when the powerlines were cut. The single celltower for the island was overgrown with moss and the signal hijacked so that, largely, Ivy controlled communication in and off her fiefdom. Several officers had broken into the old storage lockers to pull out a ham-radio that hadn't been used in close to forty years and it was the single source of contact with the mainland...

At least for now.

"One of the ferry stations still opperating on the island has been taken over by Falcone goons, requesting assistance from shore patrol in protecting civilians trying to evacuate. I say again..." The message repeats, set on a timer.

Oracle picked up the transition and route it to Batgirl.

Spoiler has posed:
Radio signals do not travel well underwater. Thankfully there are very low frequency signals that do. The workers who deployed that long able out from Wayne Manor never realized it would be used for communications with the small fleet of submersible vehicles at Batman's disposal.

But it comes in handy now as Batgirl is gliding along underwater, holding onto a Bat Diver Propulsion Vehicle. Towing her along as Stephanie is clad in a black and purple diver version of her Batgirl armor.

The message comes up a few letters at a time. It's not meant for high bandwidth transmissions. But it's enough to tell her where she needs to be. Stephanie changes course, the vehicle gliding through the water, towing a few boxes behind her of supplies she's taking to the island. One of the items? A radio. Though that will have to wait. Stephanie finds a place to attach the boxes to underwater to wait for her return, and then guides the craft over towards coordinates sent to her by Oracle.

Poison Ivy has posed:
It's a longitude and latitude from a satellite scan of the single functional harbor. The rest of the island is pretty much rocky sheer drops or grown over with thick, probably poisonous, vegitation. Ivy clearly isn't wanting any visitors except for by the single method that she's allowed to remain open until people have fully evacuated. At least, however, she's not killing everyone?

Small comforts.

There's no telling how long that will last though.

It's not until Stephanie breaks surface that she starts receiving tactical data on the situation. Mostly long range scans, since none of Oracles drones signals are strong enough to actually reach the island itself, by way of Satelite..

It isn't much to go on, but it should be enough.

Several well armed thugs, who clearly stole some of the heavier arms from one of the lockups, are guarding the dock and manning the ferries intent to bring passangers back to the mainland. The problem is the bottleneck. Since it's obvious they're not letting anyone through... which likely means they are not civil servants, but some private contractor looking to make a little extra off the peoples suffering.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie Brown scopes out the situation, moving over away from the main part of the harbor to make a stealthy exit from the water and onto the island. "Seriously people, what kind of jerks do you have to be to not let people escape crazy plant lady?" Stephanie says under her breath.

The sting of Jason's message left on the Batcomputer for her is as fresh as if it had come from one of those thorns on a vine that Stephanie eyes before looking back towards the harbor.

"Ok, need to take care of you guys without anyone getting hurt," she murmurs to herself. She pulls out a holographic project and checks it to make sure it stayed dry while she was underwater. "Think it's time you had a talk with Batgirl," she murmurs.

Stephanie moves off away from the harbor to a quiet place she can record a bit of video in the project. She then sneaks back, finding some high ground where she can set it up so it will look like Batgirl is up above them when she sets it off by remote control.

Once in place, she begins sneaking off to where she can start taking out a few of them when the distraction goes.

Poison Ivy has posed:
The island is, aside from the business on the harbor, rather quiet. Spookily quiet. There are sounds like something or someone moving through bushes, but there is definitely nothing moving by any of Stephanie's readings. It could be the plants moving, though... which is only a little more omenous right?

As far as the small docking harbor, the goons are shouting their orders, "Alright, everyone who's paid, move to the front of the line! Everyone else fall back and sort out your affairs, you've got ten minutes before the boats are taking off and this is the last ferry for a few days, so I'd dig deep into your pockets for charitable donations if you're looking to get off this island this week..."

As for Batgirl, there are floodlights on the three boats, but they're all pointed at the crowds of evacuees. This creates a nice blanket of darkness for her to work in just beyond the visible area.

Spoiler has posed:
Once the holographic emitter is in place, Batgirl creeps through the dark, her cowl enhancing the light to make it easier for her to see into the dark spaces. She eyes where the different men are and which are doing tasks which are likely to draw notice from the others should they go missing.

"Ok, so now I have a plan," she murmurs to herself. "Oracle should be proud. Maybe not a good plan, but we'll see," she adds before sneaking off into the darker parts, heading towards her first target.

An eye is kept on the civilians, making sure should she be spotted she won't be putting anyof them in the line of fire. The blond crime fighter moves swiftly and quietly though, heading from cover to cover as she hones in a first, armed target.

Poison Ivy has posed:
There are six targets in total.

Two of them are guarding the entrance to the warf, they're likely the most dangerous because they're carrying assault rifles. AKs, but still very deadly if they decided to use them on the civilians.

One each is driving the three boats (which aren't huge by any stretch. They're not typical farries, but cigar-boats that are most often used for smuggling). While the sixth and final is standing on one of the boats as a guard.

It looks like each boat is a two man team.

On the boats are a smattering of civilians who have paid their tole. They look scared, but relieved to be getting the hell off the island.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie makes her way down to the water, dodging from one bit of cover to the next. She activates the cowl of her aquatic-adapted costume, her face and nose covered so she can breath and see as she slips into the water again. Ducking under the surface, she is a shadow in the dark water, making her way out to the boat farthest from the others, intending to work her way back.

She tries not to think about the water she's swimming in. Because, ew? She makes her way underneath the cigar boat, coming up on the side away from shore, thinking it likely anyone on board will be watching the people, and not the open water side.

She takes hold of the edge, showing as little of her hands as possible, and pulls herself up to peek over the edge towards the boat's pilot. Timing it for when she'll be able to pull herself up out of the water within him seeing her, and try to slip over to disable him quietly.

Poison Ivy has posed:
This particular boat is on the outskirts and already has a compartment full of people, but they're no more happy about their situation than is Stephanie. The simple truth is, the legal options are fewer and further between now that the deadline has been reached and passed... so this is really the only way off if someone doesn't want to try and rough it.

They eye Stephanie coming out of the water, but she's moving too quickly for them to alert the pilot who is quickly subdued by her KARATE CHOP to the neck, ala Captain Kirk. People are, mixed on their reactions to this... they paid for this ride and... now they're not so sure if the ride is good. Much less whether they can get their money back!

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl grabs the man as he goes limp, moving him out of the pilot's chair and quickly securing his wrists. She looks to the people and puts a finger to her lips as she does so.

Once the man is secured, she moves over closer to the people. "We're going to get you to safety. These guys can't be trusted. Hopefully get you back your possessions too," she says quietly and quickly.

Stephanie picks out a trio of people that look to her like they are handling the matter calmly. "You, can you pilot a boat? I'm going to take out the other gunmen. Don't leave or they may open fire. But if there is gunfire, take these people to safety." She singles out the other two. "You two, keep everyone quiet, nothing to alert the others. Got it?"

She hopes that tasking specific people, putting them in charge, will help keep things on the boat copacetic. If the people are cooperating, she slips back into the water to start for the next boat.

Poison Ivy has posed:
It is a difficult thing to gauge, the reaction to scared people in intense situations...

But one of the men looks like he might have worked at the Namich Island branch of Wayne Technology and he steps up to assist, "I have a yacht on the mainland. I can pilot this boat.." He murmurs to Batgirl, glancing around at everyone else, one of which is a little girl whom he smiles at. "We'll keep everyone quiet until you give us the word."

Cigar boats aren't very big. Large enough for six to ten and it wouldn't be comfortable... There's eight in this one.

Further up is the boat with the two men, one carrying an assault rifle and the other sitting behind the controls. There's another eight civilians. Apparently they're packing them in to capacity.

On shore, the two thugs are starting to move people forward to collect payment, but there's fewer people stepping forward now... which means the clock is ticking. More so when the goon Batgirl just took outs radio chirps, "We're headed out as soon as we get this last boat loaded. I don't like the way those plants are creeping forward."

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl surveils the boat with the two men and quickly decides to move on to the next. She climbs out as she did before, timing it when she's unlikely to be spotted. Water drips from her costume but she moves quickly once into the boat, leveling the man with another chop to the neck and easing him down to the floor.

The same shushing admonition is given to the people in the boat. Another couple of people are recruited to man the boat and keep the others silent. At this rate, she is going to have to name them Batgirl's Navy.

Stephanie pulls out a small gun-looking device, shooting a small sticky device which sticks to a barrel up on the shore not too far away from the second boat. It's just a tiny noisemaker, capable of a few different sounds. Soft ones that might draw someone's attention enough to check, but not to seem alarming enough to set anyone off. That done, she slips back into the water to move towards the final boat, and the two armed men.

Poison Ivy has posed:
The third boat down is full of mostly women, but one of them is older and looks like she's seen a thing or two. Ms. Habersham, that's her name, she takes control of the other ladies with a hard stare and a nod to Batgirl. "You give'em hell, young lady." She murmurs, "I'll take care of these girls." Apparently it was a group from a prep-school because none seem inclined to question their elder in this particular situation.

Unlike the previous two boats, no civilians have been loaded on the final. Just the two guards waiting for the two remaining guards to bring them their cargo. The six are being led up the short warf towards the boats, and are standing pretty much center of the spotlight on the cigar boats front end.

Otherwise it's abysmally dark.

One of the shore guards has turned away to point his rifle at some of the remaining civilians on land who look like they might be inclined to rush the boats, "I'm serious, I'll fucking shoot if you take a single step onto this pier..."

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl thanks Ms. Habersham with a quick smile before slipping back into the water and making her way to the final boat. She saves the hologram for now, hoping to be able to use it after taking care of the guards on this boat.

Stephanie gets hold of the edge of the boat and then triggers the noisemaker. The faint sounds of a scratching noise comes from the barrel. It goes once, stops, and then goes twice again, the last just a little bit louder than the first. Then silent again for another five seconds or so, and then goes off again.

Stephanie relaxes herself, averting the urge to tense up as she prepares to slip onto the boat and try to take out the pilot should the gunman go investigate.

Poison Ivy has posed:
"What was that noise?" The gunman says with a glance in the direction of the faint scratching, "God dammit, it better not be another one of those vines.." He does not sound neither happy, nor particularly comforted, by the notion. The pilot glances over too, then back at his pal, "Fuck that, dude, I'm not checking it. You've got the gun, go get your paycheck..."

With an exasperated sigh, the gunmen move over and steps off the boat to check on the noise, kneeling down to peer around the edge of the wooden dock for any signs of creeping vegitation, "This is exactly what happened last time..." He's looking with the barrel of his assault rifle though.

Seems luck is, at least temporarily, on Stephanie's side.. The action up the dock hasn't been noticed because the group of survivors are moving dangerously close to the pier, which has drawn the second guard up as well, "Back the fuck up! Last warning!"

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl slips on board the boat, moving over to the pilot while his attention is on the investigation of the noise. A hard chop fells him the same as the others. She lies him down quietly and then doesn't delay. Timing is everything.

The control of the holographic emitter is hit and an lifelike image of Batgirl appears up on the edge of a one story a rooftop overlooking the docks. "Ok boys, this is not the right way to get your Good Samaritan merit badge," the hologram says. "That was a Boy Scout joke. Guessing, you guys don't look like Boy Scouts so maybe need that explained. Ok, so here's what happens. You guys set down the guns, let the people leave before Ivy hangs up anyone as a warning sign, and everyone gets out of here happy and alive. Deal?"

The real Batgirl is rushing forward, leaping off the boat and pulling out a taser as she moves in to try to capitalize on the hologram's distraction and take down the lone gunman.

Poison Ivy has posed:
The holographic image draws the gunmens, all three, in that direction. This provides Batgirl with just the oppertunity she needs to get to the one closest to the boat and just the oppertunity the other civilians need to rush the last two!

See, when people are in desperate situations, they'll result to desperate means. Not unlike putting themselves in the possibility of harms way for the real chance of escape from the dangerous situation.

Sure, a quick snap of a rifle butt takes out one of the bigger guys, but when six, then nine, then thirteen people start grabbing and pulling, it's not terribly surprising that the last two goons are taken down into the water with a splash.

Which means hell is properly broken loose.

What was mostly quiet, is no longer quiet, since one of those guns went off. It was aimmed at Batgirl (the hologram), but the report carries in the silence.. That means Ivy heard it. At least one of her plants did... which means she'll be coming.

Spoiler has posed:
The gunman jerks spastically from the taser. Batgirl's suit is insulated against the electricity, allowing her to grab him even while he's being shocked, and get the gun out of his hand. She has been tracking the Electrocutioner so has been extra prepared for getting zapped.

She is less ceremonious about setting the goon down gently, letting him fall and tossing the gun aside as she darts forward towards the remaining to gunmen.

Seeing her fellow Gothamites respond rather than cower gives Stephanie both a sense of pride, and worry that one of them might get shot before they manage to disarm them men. But they handle it before she's able to make it to them.

"Great job everyone," Batgirl says, clicking a button and turning off the hologram. She bends to start cuffing the two men. "Alright, get to the boat. Don't overload it. It's cold, you don't want them capsizing," she says. She picks out someone to lead this group as well, and asks for a volunteer who can pilot the boat.

After, Batgirl looks around, trying to find anything else in the area that might be used to safely get a number of people off the island. Even something that might have to be towed. "Come on, got to get people off before Ivy shows," she says to herself as she searches the harbor rapidly. She turns the hologram off, but leaves it there.

Poison Ivy has posed:
The fight between the Gothmites and the two gunmen is not nearly as graceful and resorts to someone holding the last conscious goon while another wacks him upside the head with the assault rifle. He uses it like a baseball bat held by the barrel, then turns it around as if they intend to keep it... at least until they spy Batgirl coming up giving directions.

There's some apprehension because even the dim can see there's not enough room on those boats... not if she intends to take the goons with them, anyways. What's more, the dock has been picked clean for rowboats and other floatables in the early day of the evacuation. Some people tried to swim, even, until coast guards picked them up half dead from hypothermia.

Making matters worse... vines are, indeed, starting to creep up along the sides of a shack nearby and along the ground towards the dock. Ivy might not be present, but that doesn't mean she's unable to affect the situation... Time is definitely not on any of their side.

Stephanie might be the first to see the vines, but she can almost assuredly tell that as soon as someone else does...

Hell will break loose.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie motions to people, helping get them over to the boats. The goons won't be part of the trip, they'll have to wait on the shore. "Alright, let's get as many as you can safely take," she says. She'll get them loaded up. "Alright, go ahead and get them to safety while I call in more boats," the blond Batgirl says.

She waves the other people who were not going to be allowed onto the boats forward while she gets on her radio. "US Coast Guard. US Coast Guard. This is Batgirl at coordinates 40.7357582° North, 74.1724622° West. I have civilians needing immediate evacuation from South Channel Island. Three speed boats leaving with civilians now but we have no other boats here. Please respond. Situation needs immediate response please."

She's going to have to brush up on her naval radio chatter.

Poison Ivy has posed:
There's a moment where things look like they might actually pop off, one of the civilians with a gun starts barking orders to people that are already nervous and scared and it's not doing the situation any favors. When Batgirl arrives, the person loses their nerve, however and grows quiet. Looking down at their feet while everyone else does their best to fit as many people in the boats as they can until it's obvious there's not another crawl space to fit anyone into any of them.

That still leaves five people standing on the dock.

One looks like he's about ready to bumrush the first boat in line when it speeds off at Stephanie's command, followed by a second and a third. Tensions are high and not improving. Especially not when the response from the coast guard doesn't come.

The vines are starting to writh around the support beams of the dock, rattling it gently at first, then with renewed vigor as more tensil strength is added with thicker lengths of vegitation coiling with the first.

Then... salvation.

"Batgirl, this is Coast Guard cutter River One. We've gotten clearance to offer a small window to evacuate, but we're two minutes from your position, over."

The light atop the wave cutter is just visible in the distance.

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl will draw herself up to her full five feet five inches and poke the would be bumrusher in the chest. "Don't even think about it. We've got a Coast Guard ship coming in. Just need to hang on here," she says.

Stephanie pulls out a remote and soon the Bat Diver Propulsion Vehicle is surfacing and puttering in towards shore. "If it comes down to it, you guys grab hold and take it out towards the Coast Guard," she says, turning on the submersible vehicle's lights so it will be easy for the cutter to spot. "Just stay on the surface. It'll be cold, but you can survive in this water for a half hour easy," she tells them.

Stephanie turns back towards the vines then. Batgirl strides forward towards them, pulling out a pair of batarangs. "Ivy, I don't want it to come to this, I know how you feel about your plants, but I'm not letting those vines take this dock out. Stop them now!" she calls loudly. She's ready to let the batarangs fly if the warning goes unheeded, the batarangs equipped with chemicals she hopes will be effective on the vines. But there hasn't been time for testing.

Poison Ivy has posed:
The poke to the chest catches Bumrusher off guard, but also settles him down.

"Oh come on, man! The vines are coming! Where the hell are the coast guard?!" The guy is about to lose his cool, what little he had to beginw ith, now that Ivy is making her presence known. The dock rocks a little more violently, but then stops at Stephanie's warning... For now, they remain wrapped around the support beams and there's the very real feeling that something or someone is watching. Which is almost certainly true.

The cutter is within spitting distance now, the sound of it slicing the waves is easy heard over the lapping sound of gentle waves crashing against the rocky face of the side of the island. "For the plant." A voice says, not necessarily disembodied, but certainly disjointed. Where it came from is up for endless debate, however.

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl lowers the batarangs but keeps them in hand. "Appreciate that. Though we so need to have another talk about this," the blond caped crusader says, managing a tone she hopes reeks of understatement. But she's not going to push the issue. Not until they five men and the six trussed up goons are safely away.

Stephanie looks about the harbor, getting a view of the vines, assuring they are lacking those nasty thorns that the palisade had. She turns towards the approaching boat then, flashing a light to them. "Coast Guard this is Batgirl," she says towards them. "I see you, flashing a light from our location," she says. She keeps the light going to guide the cutter in, whilst sending the BDPV off out of the way.

Poison Ivy has posed:
The Cutter glides in on Batgirls signalling light and lowers a plank out to help people board. The five goons are placed below-deck, but there's no cell, so they're simply guarded until they can turn them over to authorities on the mainland. As the last of the civilians are boarding, one of the Coast Guard looks to Stephanie, "Most of us are pulling further back in the morning.. This is likely to be the last boat comes this close to the island.." The apprehension is in his voice as he too can see the vines wrapped around the docks edge.

"Thanks for your assistance Batgirl." The CG says, mirrored by the civilians on the boat as they begin to push back off until they're clear enough to return to open waters with their charges in tow. This leaves Batgirl on the dock alone.. There's no more words spoken, but the vines begin rocking the dock again. A clear indication that Ivy's window of ceasefire has ended.

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl salutes the Coast Guard as they finish boarding the civilians and prisoners alike. "Appreciate the help," she offers back. "There's still some others on the island who couldn't get off," she says. "Please keep an ear out just the same," she asks.

Stephanie Brown waves as the cutter sets off again. She turns back, seeing the vines gripping the dock. Stephanie frowns and says, "The people were leaving you alone, so you go and do this to them, Pamela?" She shakes her head, getting angry.

Stephanie pulls something from her belt and then tosses a handful of smoke pellets into the air. They come down all over the dockyard, filling the area with smoke.

Stephanie slips into the water, going down to retrieve the supplies she brought for the police who radioed in the first place. She swims back to the surface then, and activates the hologram which is still up on one of the roofs. Hoping it distracts the vines, Batgirl tries to hurry across the dockyard and deeper into the island with the supplies. If vines are fooled by holograms.

On the roof, the hologram has her hands on her hips, just standing there for a moment, then saying, "How did I know you were going to say that? Look, if you don't want a bruising..." she says before Stephanie pauses it, leaving Batgirl just standing there motionless.

Poison Ivy has posed:
There's no response from the Vines until the smoke pellets go up into the air. The violent shaking is now accompanied by the sound of cracking wood and then the whole dock is torn off at the base where it meets the landing. It's torn and twisted, then splashes loud against the water as it's dropped down into the bay, closing off one of the few remaining points of landfall onto Ivy Island.

They are not fooled by holograms, however.

In that they don't seem to be really looking at anything. They're being controlled, afterall, and Ivy can't distinguish much of anything other than sound... These have no eyes. Only a sense of things around them.

The further inland Stephanie goes, the harder going gets. The access onto the port is already barred off by thick vegitation so she'll be picking her way around and there's no telling if she'll be able to get back to this location besides. Otherwise, it looks like large parts of the little city of South Channel is mostly intact... if a little overgrown. There's no electricity, which leaves a death like silence in the absence of the electric hum that most humans have grown accustomed to. It's disorienting..

Or it can be anyways.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie Brown feels like she's in one of those videos about what it would be like if humankind just suddenly disappeared. She stays quiet as she can, moving carefully but quickly as she pulls up a display of South Channel Island, showing her location and that of the police station.

Stephanie pulls out her grapple gun and fires it, attaching it to a billboard and then reeling it in to pull herself and the supplies strapped to her back up into the air. Once she gets on the top of the billboard she takes stock of her location.

She gets on the frequently the police were using, speaking softly. "Batgirl to South Channel police. Would like to set a rendezvous and help you get off the island. Be careful speaking near the plants. If you need, give me where to meet you in code."

Poison Ivy has posed:
That's not terribly far from accurate, honestly.

There are people here, but not nearly enough to really leave much of a footprint. It's a large bit of land besides that, so a small group, even a relatively large one, can be almost impossible to find when spread so thin. Such is the case with the remaining officers at Precinct 077.

The response takes a bit to come in, but the voice is a calm sounding woman, "This is Lieutenant Alvarez of the GCPD to Batgirl. I'm sending one of my officers to link up with you at Seventh avenue near the old laundry mat: Sack of Suds. He'll bring a situation report with him for you, but the short and skinny is we're not leaving."

The laundry mat isn't hard to find, what with the big sign above it that looks like a bucket with suds coming over the top, and there's an officer there crouched amongst the debrie in the street gripping a shotgun like a child with a teddy bear.

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl travels the roofs, the vines having to travel further up to get near to her that way, giving her more time hopefully should she hit a problem. She races forward, black and purple cape waving behind her as she deploys her staff, the metal telescoping just in time to help her pole vault over a narrow street and to the roofs on the other side.

She crosses that block and then there is her destination. "Sack of Suds. And they wonder why they didn't manage to franchise," she mutters to herself. Batgirl checks out the area then waves to him to get his attention before she uses her grapple to swing down and land closer to him. She rewinds it in as she walks over.

"Glad you are holding out. But really, probably safer to get everyone off the island until she's dealt with," Batgirl says quietly.

Poison Ivy has posed:
The Officer starts and points his shotgun in Stephanie's direction until he realizes it's Batgirl, "Sorry... we're all a little jumpy." Moving closer, eyeing the streets as he does so he can kneel down with a small map and penlight. "Yeah, I don't disagree with you, but the El Tee says we're staying until all the civilians can be evacuated." He motions down at the map and shines the small light on the campus of Gotham Community college. "Alright, here's the situation that we know of.."

Glancing up at the vigilante, "You saw the news about the evacuations right? Well there were close to a hundred thousand people living on this island.. families, elderly, you name it.. Anyone who couldn't be evacuated ended up here on the campus. We were going to chopper everyone out, but then Ivy came.. she's taken that over, no way in that we've found, and there's a big forest canopy over grown the whole damn campus so we can't even get arial view." When they still had that.

"We're held up in the elementary school with another sixty two, civies, mostly older folks that aren't in any condition to move... unless we had trucks or a bus... which we don't." His expression is grim, "Now, here's the good news, we've got plenty of food... and she's actually been letting us go and get more so long as we don't venture outside the designated areas.." Which are clearly marked on the map.

"We're not exactly sure how many people are on campus, but we know it's too many to try and walk out of here on foot.. at least not without the national guard or the Avengers or something.." The map is folded up and handed over to Stephanie.

"El Tee says I should give you this in exchange for the supplies. We're working on getting comms back up, but we've only got generator power and not enough fuel to keep it running all the time, so... we'll work out a time where we can communicate."

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie pulls the packs off her back and sets them down. "I could only bring so much. There's some radios and satellite phones in here, should help with the communications," she says. "I don't know that I can help much with generators though. There's a number in there you can call, we can try to airdrop more supplies in if you have emergency needs. Medicine, stuff like that."

She passes the packs over and takes the offered map. "You're all doing a good job in a horrible situation. I'll do my best to take care of this. I'm afraid the only way to resolve this is going to be to get to Ivy herself," she says, looking at the map. "Any idea how bad it is along the way to her gardens?" she asks as she checks the map.

Poison Ivy has posed:
The officer bobs his head, but it's clear the answer he got isn't the answer he wanted. Batman was suppose to swoop in and solve this over night, the city is use to that. It's clear on the young mans face that while he may have faith in Batgirl, it would have been better if the looming figure of a different bat had been waiting for him.

"We'll keep fighting as long as the ammo holds." He assures her, "Thankfully there's not a lot to shoot at and she's not attacking us so long as we stay where she tells us to stay." Which is a blessing and a curse. Kind of like being in a prison, though.

Likely something Stephanie has heard before.

Freedom... without choice.

"The Garden?" The officer laughs and shakes his head, "Yeah, we went there early on to try and arrest Ivy.. that was a mistake. Some of them are still strung up on the vines, pretty sure they're still mostly alive too, but you wouldn't know it by looking at them..."
