I'm no artist...
Date of Scene: 31 October 2019
Location: Sunny Rose Antiques - Brooklyn
Synopsis: A lot of dancing, a lot of talk... and a sculpture date discussed. Cue to the Righteous Brothers.
Cast of Characters: Donatello, Copycat

Donatello has posed:
Once upon a time this place was called What Goes Around - and the Turtles had spent a fair amount of time, once. Donatello is inside again, how? Ninja. Looking through the various knick-knacks and antiques with a smile on his face, a pair of booklights mounted to his bandolier to aid his searching without being too noticeable through the darkened windows.

Assuming he's alone, he's got a tune in his head - singing in his deep but scratchy voice, "The cretins clonin' and feedin'... and I don't even own a TV." setting aside a book and lifting up an old music box, "Put me in the hospitals for nerves, then they had to commit me-ee, you told them all I was crazy! They cut off my legs, now I'm an amputee god damn you!" popping the lid and then the mechanism to take a look at the spring chimes. Yep. All alone probably.

Copycat has posed:
There's plenty of time for Donnie to get his jams going in the closed up store. But after awhile, he might pick up the sound of heels clicking on the pavement outside. The yellow shades are almost all the way to the bottom of the window, just giving a small glimpse of the bottom of a black skirt and a pair of stocking clad legs emerging from them.

The legs, and presumably the person they belong to, walk towards the door. Surely they'll just walk on past. But they don't. The person stops and the sound of a key in the lock can be heard. After a moment's difficulty with the old deadbolt, it turns and the door swings open.

Vanessa Carlysle steps inside. She's wearing a black skirt and a dark top that has a low cut to the neck before the buttons start. Her hair is a little shorter than before as if she's gotten it cut recently. She turns around to close the door behind her, locking the deadbolt. Then unlocking it, and finally locking it again before she turns back around.

Donatello has posed:
The moment the key hit the lock Donnie was out of sight, silent, watching - who could have a key here besides April? April doesn't dress like thhhhaaaa... uh... Eyes widening behind his mask the Tall Turt takes a moment to gather his thoughts. Most of which are forms of; 'AHHHHH! AHHHHH! WHAT DO I DO!?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!'

Doing what comes first, Donnie moves so that she can spot him at a passing glance, humming and acting as if he never noticed her come in. Like he's the worst ninja. Maybe. He's watching from the corner of his eye though, to see if she notices without being startled.

Copycat has posed:
It's only a short moment of surprise for Vanessa. She was turning to head for the stairs to April's apartment, not really expecting to find anyone in here. So the sight of someone there causes Vanessa to gasp and stop short.

"Holy crap you surprised me," Vanessa says with a warm laugh, her hand going atop her heart as if to slow its rapid beating.

"Donatello? Is that you?" she asks moving closer to him, obviously recognizing him if only by the colors he wears. "What are you doing here, I thought you were all out at the farm<" she says. Vanessa's face breaks out in a warm smile as she walks over to him. "It's good to see you," she says. "I was wondering how I was going to get back out to the farm to visit again."

Donatello has posed:
"Oh, well we had to get on our way back you know - eventually..." feigning calm and collect as he saunters over, "Sorry for the fright, Nessa, Ninja." Donnie smiles, but it shows off a bit of his bucked teeth. "I was here just kinda poking around. I like 'old junk' like Ape said her dad called it. But now the 'farm' is here to see you, right?"

Smiling again, until he realizes he might be coming off strong now, the Purp Turp reigns himself in, "It's good to see you too, I don't have too many human friends, and it's nice to be able to come calling - but I mean. I didn't wanna come off like a creeper."

Copycat has posed:
"Oh, it's ok. It's almost Halloween, an ok time for a fright," Vanessa says with a little wave of her hand and a warm flash of her eyes. "I know what you mean about old stuff. Was mostly what I had around me growing up," she says, turning to walk along one of the shelves, as she's done a few times on her own. She stops to pick up an old jack in the box, turning the handle but the spring inside seems to be broken.

"Mohammed gets a mountain, I'm certainly happy to get a whole farm," Vanessa says with a laugh. She sets the jack in the box back down and moves back over to Donnie. "Not creeper at all. Trust me, I see enough of those," she says. Indeed, she's dressed just a little bit provocatively, actually. Probably would draw creepers. "April gave me a key to her place," she explains, motioning towards the stairs. "But I'm really glad you were here. I still need to be sculpted after all," she teases.

Donatello has posed:
A blink, a stare, and Donnie's head ducks a little towards his shell. "OH! I. Well I mean... I could try - I don't know if I could in marble... or clay..." toeing the back of one heel, "But I could certainly render you with mo-cap layers and set up my industrial printer to cast you in photo-realistic relief... I could even go on a bronze drive for it." beaming at her as ol' Nerd Power comes into full force.

"I mean... if you think that'd still be nice. It's not like I could really offer to take you out anyplace, for dinner or such. I kinda stick out - mutants and Mutants don't really get much... traction in town you know?" worrying at his lower lip. "I'm sorry... I'm not much of an artist. Just a tech guy, but I mean. I'd totally try to sculpt you. I'd not come close, but it'd be worth it to try."

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa's grin only grows warmer as Donnie ducks his head like that. "You don't have to. I just thought it was the coolest thing a man has ever offered," she tells him with a little shrug but a twinkle in her eye.

"I don't know why you wouldn't. I'd be happy to go to dinner with you sometime," Vanessa says. "I imagine we could slip over to Bushwick sometime, even. I'd imagine you'd probably fit in pretty well over there," the young woman offers.

Vanessa glances around the shop. "Though we could make do here. There's some old silverware on one of the shelves. Maybe order some... what are you in the mood for anyway? Italian? Chinese? Pizza? Set up a the table over there, or just clear a spot here," she suggests, looking around.

Donatello has posed:
"Oh... I'm always for pizza - but lady's choice of course... y'know?" Donnie beams, "I could offer a little dancing too. I took some time to learn a few steps here and there" He blinks. Did he offer to dance with her?

In his head a little Donnie appears on his shoulder, mouth open, arms wide, eyes bugged out - joined shortly on the other side, blinking, shrugging, 'Got nothin' dude. You put your toe in it.'

He stands, locked, eyes wide. "I mean. I. If you. I." Smooth.

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa's smile is kept on her face by Donnie's offer. She's truly tickled by him, the same as she was at the farm. "Hmm, well, I haven't had pizza in a little while, so that sounds good," she tells him. Vanessa pulls out her phone from her purse and then dials it.

"Yes, I'd like a delivery. We want a large..." she says before pausing to ask Donatello, "What do we want on it? Oh, and you'd better get that boombox going again you were looking at, if we're going to have music later," she says, glancing over at what Donnie was looking at when she first arrived.

Donatello has posed:
Leaning slightly, Donnie offers to the 'we want on it' question, "Yes." before he blinks - he was looking at a little music box. But the lady wants music. Donne can do that. Moving around the antique shop like a green blur, setting up speakers and a few subwoofers taken from his 'junk bag' from a brief trip across the harbor earlier.

Once dinner is ordered he's splicing wires and connecting them to a jack being plugged into an MP3 player. "So! Vanessa.. Uh. Do you like something slower? Fast? I... I." worrying at his lip as he looks through his MP3 lists

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa grins as she tells the phone, "Load it up with the works. And extra cheese. Perfect, thanks," she says, giving the address then before hanging up the phone. She walks over then to watch Donnie at work.

"Oh, I'll dance to just about anything. Whatever you like best," she tells him. "So how did you get so good at all of this. The electronics and what all I saw in the barn at the farm? I take it you didn't go to school. Is it all self taught?" she asks the smartest Turtle.

Vanessa moves over to clear a little spot for her to sit on one of the counters, hopping up on it and keeping her legs together given the short length of her skirt. "So the four of you are all actual brothers? Do you mind if I ask about your parents?" she asks.

Donatello has posed:
"I just have a knack for it... self taught, books, tech manuals, whatever I can get my hands on." beaming with a little pride, Donatello visibly hits 'Random' and sets the MP3 player down, looking up as Norah Jones comes up... covering The Righteous Brothers.

Swallowing, he approaches Nessa in the cleared out area, offering to take one of her hands. If nothing else he's dedicated when he commits...."

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa Carlysle catches her breath as the music starts up. "Oh, Norah Jones. I love her!" she says with a smile. The young woman smiles as Donnie walks over to her. Vanessa grins and slips off the counter that she's sitting on.

"Self taught," she says as she offers Donnie her hand. "That's so impressive. I can't imagine picking all of that up on your own," she tells him. "I'll have to have you take a look at my dishwasher. It hasn't worked since... ah... what year is it again?" she asks with a soft, wry chuckle.

She'll move into the dancing readily enough, willing to follow Donnie's lead.

Donatello has posed:
"Well, as per mom and dad, they were pet store turtles. Mikey, Leo, Raph and I were pets, and then we fell down a sewer, got soaked in radioactive mutagenetic ooze... and here we are." Talking to cover nerves, he leads in a slow step, hand on her hip - his own body a tad awkward in this regard, and he only has three fingers to boot.

"I can totally look at your stuff in your place, see what I can fix, or upgrade, or replace... It'd be no... Uh." realizing he's slow dancing now, head dipping again and his cheeks looking a darker green. "I mean I'd... I'd love to help out."

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa doesn't seem to mind at all the unusual number of fingers on Donnie's hand. She seems relaxed as the dance to the beautiful song, swaying slowly and letting Donnie guide her.

"Makes me wonder about the stories of alligators down there," she says softly as Donnie reveals how they came into being. "Well, if the four of you came out of there, then it's not a bad thing, I'd say," she tells him.

Vanessa's free hand rests on Donnie's shoulder, fingers just barely brushing the base of his neck. "I'd appreciate it. The whole building is falling apart," Vanessa says. "And the landlord?" She groans. "Tightwad who won't spend a penny to fix anything unless the city makes him," she says.

She lets the tension go with a soft exhalation, not willing to let the mention of the man ruin the dance. "So having you take a look, would be wonderful. You're very sweet, Donatello," she tells him softly.

Donatello has posed:
"There's one gator down there, I'd not suggest messing with him. He goes by the name Leatherhead." Donatello pauses when she compliments him, and he smiles, "Thank you Nessa... Most just think I'm a big nerd most of the time." swallowing hard, working a little side sway and even a short dip as the song reaches its' crescendo.

"Don't worry about the apartment, I'll start making my rounds - get things fixed up -- maybe pay the landlord a little visit in the dark, when he can't turn on his lights." waggling his brows. "I can be scary if I need to be, or I can get Raph."

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa seems to be enjoying the dance, swaying back and forth with Donnie and letting him lead her. She lets out a warm laugh at the dip, straightening after and brushing her fingers along the base of Donnie's neck.

"Well, I think I'll stick with just turtles if it's ok," Vanessa says after hearing about Leatherhead. "You really are a nice guy. Turtle," Vanessa says, smiling at Donnie as they dance slowly about the former antique store. "Oh, he probably deserves it. But, I don't want to ask you to do anything like that," Vanessa says. She pauses, as if reconsidering it. "Nah," she says, confirming her previous choice. One more reconsideration, then, "Yeah, nah," she says, laughing softly.

Donatello has posed:
Donatello finally laughs and shrugs, "It may still happen, I can't promise to not be a turtle in shining shell at least once in in a while." Swallowing at the touch to his neck and blushing again, well as only he can, that darker green to what equates to his cheeks.

"I'm surprised Ape didn't bring you by sooner, I mean... you handle mutant turtles way better than most people I've met. makes me wonder who you met before us."

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa gives a warm little chuckle and says, "Oh, you should have seen me when I first met your brother." Vanessa's head tilts back as she gives a soft, possibly self-deprecating chuckle. "So it was the middle of summer. The air conditioning was out at my place and it was over 100 during the day, in the 90s at night. April let me come over and sleep at her place. I was still getting to know her then," Vanessa says.

"So I'm lying there on her couch, watching Jedi. And all the sudden there's a round, green face peering in the window at me," Vanessa says. "I grab my gun from my purse and... ah, well, it was Leonardo and April said everything was ok."

Vanessa lets out a breath. "I hadn't met many mutants before. But there's this nice guy, name of Zhao. He looks like a white tiger. He saved me from some... ah... muggers," Vanessa says, in a tone as if they weren't muggers. "On that night there was the earthquake in Empire City? I cut down an alley to avoid some stuff in the street and... well, anyway. But I think he's the only mutant I'd met before Leonardo."

Donatello has posed:
"Well, I'm glad you ended up liking us, Nessa. I mean... Most people. Well you know what most people are like." Donatello shrugs and blinks when the randomizer moves on to Doris Day crooning about dreaming a little dream.

"I swear I didn't plan this. Technology has risen against me and is intent on cute slow dances..." swallowing and even managing a little chuckle. "Not that something like in a club is good with me... Too big and solid eh?"

He continues to sway there, trying to not be too embarrassed by what could be misconstrued as a ploy - but it's nice... and she's being nice to him.

Copycat has posed:
"I'm sorry about most people," Vanessa tells Donatello quietly. "If they had a chance to get to know you, I'm sure they wouldn't act how they do. April's told me how you and your brothers help keep the neighborhood safe. I wish there were a lot more people like you in the world," she says to him.

The music changes and Vanessa lets herself be guided about as they dance slowly. Donnie's comment gets a teasing look from Vanessa. "Oh, really? Conspiring against you is it? Are you saying that dancing with me like this is such a horrible thing then?" she asks him, her head tilting to the side as she looks at him. Though there's a slight twinkle in her eye, she still tries to teasingly put Donatello on the spot.

Donatello has posed:
Mission complete, "OH! I... I mean. I... It... This..." Donnie swallows and looks at his feet, realizes he could be mistaken for trying to peep down her top and his head comes up sharp.

"I wasn'... I. I. Uh." Head racing now, trying to come up with something. What would Raph say? No. Not like Raph... Mikey would get him maced, Leo... Boring. What to say at a time like this. It's a wonder he's still dancing with how his eyes bug. Something inside his head clicks and he lets his mouth go.

"You're very pretty and this has been the best night I've had in a long time." Blink... BLINK

YOU FOOL!

Copycat has posed:
A smile with a flash of white teeth is given at the compliment from Donatello. It's a smile that grows warmer as it softens. "Thank you. This has been one of the best nights I've had in a long time too," Vanessa tells the Turtle.

She leans closer and if allowed brushes a soft kiss to the top of his forehead. She has on lipstick, and so he'll end up with a faint red lipstick mark there. "You're very charming, Donatello. You have a very genuine way about you," she tells him.

"I'm glad I got to meet you. And I'm glad I didn't shoot Leonardo too. He is nice as well," she says with a small smile. "April has some very cool friends if you ask me. I'm lucky she counts me as one of them."

Donatello has posed:
Kissed, right there on the head. His reptilian hide is sensitive to the warmth and he can feel the lipstick there. He must never wash that part of his head again (they'll make him. Monsters). His dancing is a little slower as he tries to think of the most charming way he could respond to that.

Gears turn in his head, and his brain goes into motion. All that time spent building machines, researching, graphs, charts, quadratic equation. Schematics, literature, Tolstoy, Tennison, Elliot, Keats, Yeats, Wordsworth, Shelley. There's all the knowledge there, in his head. He knows how he can use it. Now is the time! His time!

Donnie sums it all up, right that, taking a shallow breath, then a deeper one and when he speaks, he manages a flourishing, heart felt, soulful,

"BUH!"

YOU FOOL!

YOU!

FOOL!

Copycat has posed:
One of Vanessa's nicer qualities is her smile, and Donnie earns a beautiful one just then. So far the dancing has been something that a 1950s school dance would have been approving of. She lets herself drift closer then, her body resting gently against his. Vanessa's taller head ends up resting against Donatello's, leaning to the side a bit as she closes her eyes and smiles. Enjoying the slow dance with the charming Turtle, whose gift for language is far better than he would ever give himself credit for.

"Thank you. I think I needed a night like this," she tells him quietly, her eyes still closed as they dance together.

Donatello has posed:
"I think we both did, if I'm going to be honest." Donnie lets out before he realizes, glad that she's not looking at his face when his eyes pop open, when he realizes how that may have come out. There's a swallow, a half shuffle as they step, and then Donnie just tries to relax.

"You're a good person, Nessa. Not a lot of people like you, I'm glad April brought you out to see if we'd be friends." another small sigh while linking his hands at the small of her back, ignoring the fact that he has a shell, and she has five fingers for a little while at least.

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa doesn't show any signs of caring that she's dancing with someone with so many differences from herself. She's very relaxed, just letting Donatello guide her as she enjoys having someone there with her that is so caring. "Thank you. I admit, sometimes I'm just so focused on getting by the whole good-bad line can feel blurred. I hope I manage to stay on the right side of it," she says.

A nagging thought has been gently poking at her, Vanessa pushing it down but knowing at some point she needs to bring it up. The moment is so nice, she doesn't want to possibly spoil it. But the longer it goes on, the nicer it becomes, the harder it might be to bring up. So she does.

"Donatello, I... have an occupation that a lot of people don't think very much of. I don't imagine April has mentioned it. I kind of think maybe I should though," she says, keeping her voice in a normal tone though noticing herself that she tenses just a little, anticipating his reaction. "I... well, I work on the streets," she says slowly, moving her head back to where she can see his face and reaction. The clothing she's wearing. Skimpy to show her legs, stockings, revealing cleavage up. It could be something someone wears to a club. Though with her comment it probably reinforces waht she meant about working on the streets.

Donatello has posed:
The pause is almost imperceptible, but as she draws back there's a sadness in his features, "Oh... I mean." brow knitting now, "So I mean is that going to make it hard to be a friend?" head tilting to one side. Still many aspects of 'normal life' that don't quite click due to... well biological differences.

Donatello's beak pinches together a moment while he considers, "Do you need any help? I mean... I have bitcoin and other cryptocurrency accounts - I could try to help out if you need?"

Copycat has posed:
A smile grows slowly across Vanessa's face, and while she tries to avoid any relief showing through in it, there probably is some to be seen in her eyes. "No, it doesn't have to make it all hard to be a friend," she tells him, giving Donnie that smile.

She relaxes against him in the dance again and says, "I appreciate it. But you have your own needs. I manage to get by ok," she tells him. "It's what I know, what I'm able to do. But you're really sweet to offer though," Vanessa says as they slowly sway to the music together. "I just didn't want you to find out later and think I should have told you or... or whatever," she says to him.

Donatello has posed:
"I'm a giant turtle monster hiding in the sewer building computer equipment from scrap and harvesting cryptocurrency to feed five people..." Donatello notes "I mean... there's worse things, but you have to do what you have to do to survive, I do what I have to. But if you change your mind, let me know, I could start a block miner sub-set for you, get you some coin invested and start the cycle up, ok?"

He actually gives a little snug of his arms and holds there, a little smile on his face now, "I mean, we're friends Nessa... we can tell eachother stuff - most of what I am is out there on my shell, I know humans are a lot more close layered. So you don't have to worry about me."

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa doesn't tell him how nice it is that he doesn't seem to think any differently of her. She has lived the life for awhile and has seen it all so there is little that she isn't used to dealing with. But the insults someone like Vanessa gets are far easier to deal with than the people who just drift away when they find out.

Vanessa returns the little hug. "I probably understood about half of that," she tells him with a soft chuckle. "So are you and your brothers moving back to the city soon, or will you be staying out on the farm?" she asks as they dance slowly to Nora Jones.

Donatello has posed:
"Oh, we're coming back - the farm was a vacation... I wouldn't mind it out there if I was allowed to make some modifications. It smells nicer. It's not cramped. The den is more of Splinter's sort of place... But it keeps us where we need to be I guess." Donatello looks down at the floor, unconscious to what where he is physically now, all in his head again.

"But it really makes me feel isolated. I mean... we're underground, and everything evil and bad is associated with the places underground. Trolls, Pennywise, tentacle monsters, Cthulhu beasts... then you have those mutants who can spray fire, control the weather, throw cars, turn into metal... They have their own town out in Bushwick or wherever... Why can't we move there?"

Copycat has posed:
A slow nod results from Vanessa as she listens. "It was a really nice place. I am probably used to the city enough after too long I'd probably feel like I needed to get back too," she agrees.

Vanessa gently brushes her fingers over Donatello's shoulder where it emerges from his shell. "Is there anything keeping you from settling there?" she asks him. "It seems like a place you would be able to fit in. Though, do you need to avoid anyone who might find you there too easily?" she asks. She'd heard some mention of someone they are fighting, but didn't really get enough details to know much about it.

Donatello has posed:
"Yeah. If you ever hear of him - he calls himself the Shredder... name of Oroku Saki. He commands a ninja clan called The Foot... If he can find us, well - it won't go well. He hates us, Splinter the most. It keeps us from being more visible. Have to stay in the shadow no matter how it feels."

Donatello sighs and quiets again, letting the dance take him for the time being.

Copycat has posed:
As Vanessa hears the reason for their having to stay hidden, she says quietly, "I'm sorry for that, Donatello. You and your brothers deserve to be able to live lives like everyone else." The soft strains of the music fill the room, the tones almost a little somber as if respecting the topic of their conversation.

"I feel fortunate I got to meet you though. There are definitely a lot of things in New York I never expected," she says quietly. "I've run into a few things. There were two vampires at a subway station one time. It... it wasn't good. There was someone there fighting them, thank goodness." She doesn't mention her own role in that fight. "And there was something, a werewolf I guess, that was going to try to turn me into what it is. If the person who assaulted him was honest. And... I think she was. She was enhanced somehow," Vanessa says quietly. "It's enough to make me just try to keep my head down, and go unnoticed, you know?"

Donatello has posed:
"I suppose, maybe? I've never really had the opportunity to put my head down. Upkeep, upgrades... I don't think they realize how little they have to care about with the food I keep in the fridge. But I think I could try to understand." Donatello admits, and as part of the song seems to allude that way, he actually puts Nessa into a little dip and then stands her back upright.

"I mean I know that's not what you meant, but a little literalism can be fun." there small smile is back on his features, though he keeps his lips tight to avoid exposing his bucked front teeth.

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa lets out a charmed laugh as she's dipped back, hands clinging to Donatello's shoulders until he rights her. She relaxes back against him and laughs as he reveals the purpose of the dip. "That's a more fun way to do it," she agrees.

"It can wear on you, taking care of people," Vanessa says slowly, her eyes drifting off to the side as if thinking about something. "There are a lot of newer girls. They don't know how to keep themselves safe sometimes. And... well, let's face it, it's not an occupation that requires a Mensa membership or a degree to get into. It can be a chore looking out for them. And that's just the ones who accept the help and try. Then there are the others," she says with a little shake of her head.

"This is nice though. You're right. I needed this," she says of the sweet slow dancing in the former antique store. Vanessa curls one arm atop Donnie's shoulder, hand resting on the back of her neck as she rests her head upon that arm then. "Do you ever dance with April?" she asks.

Donatello has posed:
"April? Oh... No... no. She'd never. She and Casey - they." Donatello frowns, "I mean we're just The Turtles, to her." Swallowing a bit, "No on ever danced with me before. It's nice, I think I'm doing it right. Mostly just VR simulation, TV, Travolta and Patrick Swayze movies to get it figured out." a nervous chuckle now.

"And for the people you're... ah. Protecting... I... I mean I could add your area to my patrols. If someone looks like their in trouble...?" how would he know though, really.

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa gives a soft chuckle at the mention of Casey. "She's mentioned him. Sounds like they have a bit of a colorful past," the brunette says with a amusement in her voice, as if she can relate to such situations. But then she makes a soft hmmm sound that has a tone of disagreeing with something that was said.

"Not just The Turtles. A Turtle, yes," Vanessa says quietly, sloe eyes looking over to focus on Donatello as she doesn't let him refer to himself like that. The expression turns warmer though, a smile growing as she says, "You're doing excellent. Travolta and Swayze could be jealous," she tells him, lips turning it into a full grin before long.

"If it would be a lot of trouble for you? I wouldn't mind knowing someone was keeping an eye on the area. I don't live too far away from here. Just the other side of New Lots," Vanessa says, describing the area.

Donatello has posed:
"Well thank you, I appreciate that" said truthfully, Donnie bobs his head "I can even give a little call button for emergencies too, gives me a GPS blip. I could be there in moments if needed... maybe a couple. Have to be careful that the Foot doesn't get them... to easy to lay traps then." wheels turning in his head now as he considers and looks when another track plays, more Norah Jones, making the Purp Turp grin.

"I could put together some stuff to help protect you too, better than that little taser?"

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa gives a soft, "Ooo," as Don't Know Why starts up. "God I love this song. It is just so relaxing and peaceful," she say with a contented sigh. She puts a little more swing into her movements, not just swaying side to side, but moving at the waist to sway her shoulders more.

"I've got a couple of guns, I normally keep a 9mm in my purse. Though, it did nothing to the two vampires. So I'm admittedly feeling a bit less protected than I used to," she says. Not to mention having gotten disarmed by her four assailants in the alley during the after-earthquake looting she was trying to avoid. "But if you have advice? Well. I figure, if a ninja turtle offers to help me with self-defense, I should probably heed his wise advice," Vanessa says, and her smile and tone making it complimentary and not a joke.

Donatello has posed:
"Well I could show you some hand to hand moves... wrist locks, throws, where to kick, punch... That way you don't need to worry about being disarmed? I'll be a lot nicer a teacher than Leo or Splinter would be too." there is a blink as her hips and shoulders are added to the action and the green of Donnie's cheeks darken somewhat.

"And I can have the signaler made up quick, few of them... Won't take long really, could even stick them to a phone like a pop socket." swallowing Donnie keeps his eyes -up- now. Eyes or forehead, that's where they live.

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa gives a slow nod of her head after considering Donatello's offer. "I've not really tried to learn any kind of martial arts. Or, you know, anything beyond grabbing a bottle in a bar to hit someone over the head. Not that... I've done that. Much," she says sheepishly.

"I just always figured, Vanessa, you're smaller, you try to fight back like that you're just going to get hurt. But, I guess maybe if I had someone as good as you teaching me, that wouldn't be the case?" she asks. Vanessa gives a little nod and smiles. "Thank you. You know, you really are incredibly sweet, Donatello," she says. "And I like the name too. I'm not the best with my art history though. But I'm going to have to read up on him, I think."

Donatello has posed:
"The offer is still on the table to do a bad job of tryin' to sculpt you too." Donnie grins a bit, "And your size doesn't matter a thing if you know how to use your bo- I mean... If you. I." swallow.

"It's all knowing where to place your balance and where to hit, right?" there you go. Well done Donatello.

Vanessa avoids grinning too much at what Donatello said, but her eyes twinkle and one can tell she finds those little shy moments to be extremely endearing. Vanessa gives a soft grin. "If you think you might like to. Sculpt me, that is? I haven't ever had anyone want to do anything like that. I admit you kind of had me tickled pink when you mentioned it. I think it would be a fun experience, no matter how it turns out," she says.
