Synopsis: Kitty and Peter enjoy a quiet, domestic night
Cast of Characters: Shadowcat, Spider-Man

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty took out her phone and sent Peter a text. "Going to turn in now. Feel free to wake me when you get in." And then she turned off the lights and went over to pick up Jester. He was still learning how to get up the pet steps up to the bed, so easier to just pick him up for now.

Kitty slid in under the covers, wearing boxers and a little tank top. Jester moved to curl up against her stomach on top of the covers. Soon after Lockheed landed on the bed to join the dog, his head resting on Kitty's leg atop the blankets as the young woman lay on her side. Her arm snuggled the pillow to herself. But it wasn't the same as having Peter there.

Spider-Man has posed:
Pete had gotten around to swinging again, but he wasn't doing it with the same vim, vigor, or vitality that he was known for. That's why he was perched on the side of a building watching New York, back to the vertical wall, feet turned down against the bricks to keep him up above the night life below with a grin on his face beneath the mask covering it.

The phone tucked away in his belt chirps and he glances down at the screen to see the message from Kitty... and the time. He'd spent so much time cooped up inside, he'd... really gone a little wild with freedom, but he always tried to be home for a little while just when Kitty was going to bed. Even if it meant he'd later go back out ...

Pete has a lot of nightmares and doesn't sleep much.

So it is then that he's returning home and leaping easily, effortlessly, through the open window into the apartment he shares with his girlfriend. Who, by then, is probably fast asleep with their family all tucked up against her.

After removing his mask and tossing it onto the table as he passes, Pete changes over into something to lay down in and slips beneath the covers behind Kitty, doing his very best not to wake her in the process.

Shadowcat has posed:
While Peter may be quiet and sneaky in slipping into bed, there's one thing he didn't count on.

Kitty Pryde has an alarm dragon.

Lockheed sensed how much Kitty wanted Peter there before she dozed off. And he nudges her with his nose to wake her up. Kitty's eyelids flutter and open. She looks about, turning her head to see Peter beside her.

"There you are," she whispers, in a voice that made no attempt to hide her longing for him. "Mmm, come here," she tells him quietly, reaching a hand over to try to guide Peter over to spoon against her if he allows.

"How was the city tonight?" she asks in a sleep voice as she rests her head back against the pillow. Lockheed, and then Jester, are given brief pats of her hand.

Spider-Man has posed:
"Traitor." Peter says quietly to the alarm dragon, but it's all very good natured. In truth, he's glad Kitty's awake.

When she turns and pulls at him, it isn't very hard at all to get him to craddle up behind her, one arm sliding around her shoulders with the other beneath to pull her even closer. "Hey. Sorry, lost track of time."

He does that a lot.

But he always comes home!

Jester also gets a loving scratch between his ears, but Pete is caught up in the events of Opperation Kitty Spoon. "It's alright. Kind of quiet tonight... which means tomorrow will be hell." Halloween. Both his favorite and least favorite holliday.

Shadowcat has posed:
A soft, happy cooing results from Peter pulling his girlfriend in against his body. She snuggles back against him, getting comfortable and loving the contact with him. Her arm drapes over his, hand resting atop Peter's. "Mmm. Yeah, it's always kind of a wild night, isn't it? Janet has that party too. Our costumes are all ready to go," she tells Peter.

"Think you'll be able to get away for a bit? The city hopefully can make it through one Devil's Night without- oh hell, who am I kidding?" she says with a sigh. "Well, if we have to save the world, we will. But I'd like to dance with you at some point. Before or after, either works," she says. Kitty turns her head, her shoulders having to turn too so she can get herself around enough to give her boyfriend a soft kiss. "How are you feeling?" she asks. She's asked him that at least once a day since he got out of the Avenger's Medical. But only once.

Spider-Man has posed:
"I think so." Peter can never predict New York, but he genuinely hopes that it lets him have a night.. The unfortunate truth of his vigilantism strikes again, however. It always strikes. He spent a lot of time in the Apartment recently, though. Now, he just wants to hold Kitty, with both arms even!

"If not, I promise we'll go dancing the first chance we get. One whole night, you and me, cutting a rug like a couple of school kids high on sugar candy!" He's not shouting, just stressing the sentence up against the back of dark hair until she turns to kiss him, which he eagerly returns.

"I feel good. Shoulder's still sore, but it's doing a lot better. More annoying than painful, like a pulled muscle." Which he's not had in a very long time. At least not one that lasted for longer than a couple hours, anyways.

"Hey, Kits?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde slowly rolls over until she's facing Peter. She reaches down to give Jester a reassuring pet after the poor golden retriever pup is jostled about by her moving.

Kitty rests her head back on the pillow, looking over at Peter Parker as she nestles in closer again. Finding warmth and safety and caring in the way his arms feel as they slide around her.

"Yes Peter?" she asks him tenderly, reaching up a hand to brush some of his tousle of brown hair back from his face as she looks over into his eyes.

Spider-Man has posed:
Hair that never seems to do what it's told and immediately falls right back into his face no matter how much product he might use to keep it from doing so. Pete grins at the gesture, the touch of her fingers on his brow, and leans in enough to brush his nose against Kits, "I love you."

That's the answer. It's always the answer.

"I was going to write you a note with a I love you, do you love me, check yes or no boxes, but I couldn't find any paper.. you'd be surprised how difficult that is anymore." He muses, mostly for levity, tugging at her waist as she settles in close. There's a little tilt of his head so his chin can rest against the top of hers, "It was going to have a unicorn on it." Still musing, "Right in the top right corner."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty is induced to give a great big grin and she nuzzles her face in against Peter's. "You're so adorable. I don't know how anyone could have left you there for me. But I'm so glad that they did," she says quietly.

Kitty slides her fingers through Peter's hair and along the back of his neck. "I love you too, Peter," she tells him quietly, and sighing happily. "I was scared earlier," she says quietly. She didn't really fall apart when he was in the medbay, but the tension showed. "I'm glad you came back to me," she says. "If you ever see that white light, you turn around and walk back towards my voice," she scolds him, trying to add a little levity.

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Peter," she tells him softly. "So, no leaving."

Spider-Man has posed:
"Was it a giant can of raid?" Peter asks as if he's going somewhere with this line of questioning, even tilting his head to get a gander at the gal curled up in his arms, "No, just a spear?" He shakes his head slowly, "Welp, if you look at my list of allergies, you'll not that I've no adverse reactions to spears.. only raid... By that line of reasoning, I cannot be killed by it!"

That's a leap.

His arms tighten around Kitty, lips press gently to her forehead, "It would have to be one hell of a light to keep me away. You know how spiders do... start running when the lights come on." A brief a pause, a little hungh sound in his throat,

"Actually I think that's roaches, but we'll just agree to disagree."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty breaks out in giggles. Giggles and giggles, that just give rise to more giggles. Until she's laughing until her sides hurt. "God I love you," she whispers, leaning up to press a beautiful, soft kiss to his lips.

She relaxes her head down to Peter's shoulder. "Mom was impressed with you, you know. Told Dad that he can't even give you a hard time when you meet him. I really wanted you to be able to go come to Genosha with me. We'll have to find some time to get there," she says, referring to her trip there for Lorna's birthday. "We still have those tickets to Paris too. We need to use those," she says.

Spider-Man has posed:
Kitty giggles become Peter giggles in short order and before he realizes it, he too is laughing, more because of her than anything he actually said though. "Mmm feeling is definitely mutual." He murmurs, still catching his breath, now laid back on his shoulders with her pulled part way against his chest.

"Oh yeah? Well good because I was kind of nervous about meeting your dad... maybe as much as meeting your mom, sure, but usually a fella is suppose to get permission before he asks for promises of marriage one day." Stroking a hand up and down her arm with his own run up against her back.

"We... do. I forgot all about those. Jeez, we really should use those, I don't know how long they're good for." Thoughtful, "Probably wouldn't be much to get a ticke to Genosha from Paris either."
