The Odd Couple
Date of Scene: 01 November 2019
Location: Apartment 63A, R.H. Kane Building
Synopsis: Jason and Kate talk shop while adjusting to their new living arrangement.
Cast of Characters: Batwoman, Red Hood

Batwoman has posed:
It wasn't two whole days since Kate made the offer of a 'crash pad' to Jason than he took her up on the offer. So now, with Jason comfortably settled in a spare bedroom, they both move forward. Together. Ish.

In spite of her military years, Kate isn't really much of a morning person. At least not before coffee. Shuffling down the hall, she tousles her disheveled red hair and yawns wide on the way to the kitchen. Clad in white boxers (with red hearts!) a wifebeater t-shirt and fuzzy slippers, she is hardly the picture of either the dashing Batwoman or the debonnaire heiress. Just frumpy-sleepy Kate, trying to remember which cabinet has the goddammed coffee in it.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason hadn't intended to take up that offer so soon, expecting it might be something to keep in his back pocket in case things got too messy at the mansion, though all it took was the return of one Richard Grayson and Jason was off to Kate's.

Now two days into the arrangement, Jason woke for the second time this morning, the first had been to show out his 'guest' he'd brought home the night before, and now, slightly more rested, Jason rises and ventures forth from his room in trackpants while he pulls on a black and grey 'Rage Against the Machine' shirt.

Spotting Kate and her wardrobe, he cracks a smile, observing, "Nice hearts," as he moves to lean against one of tfhe counters.

Batwoman has posed:
Kate Kane doesn't even turn at the sound of his voice, just cocking her hip in response. Ahhh, THERE it is. Pulling down the coffee cannister, she turns towards the machine and starts scooping the black stuff into it. "I was down to the boxers or the 'Saturday Night Special' thongs, and I figured this was enough of an adjustment for you." she quips back.

Fill carafe, water to machine, flip the switch. Kate leans against the counter and pulls down a couple of mugs, sliding one over to Jason while they wait. "I got a nibble on my 'occult request', by the way. None less than Zach Zatara. He's briefed, on-board, and very interested in helping."

Red Hood has posed:
The lack of response amidst the search for precious coffee hammers home the Kate is not a morning person thing. Worked for him, normally he wouldn't be up this early, period, but this Knightfall business was playing hell with his sleep schedule.

"Heh," Jason replies. "Thanks for the consideration."

Jason takes the cup when it's slid his way with a yawn, though when Kate mentions getting a nibble on her occult search he perks up. "No shit, a Zatara," he frowns trying to think through what he knew about the guy, "Zee's... cousin?" he asks her. "Anyhow score one for celebirty Twitter and the gossip pages, did he have any insights at the jump, or is he going to need to see our info first?"

Batwoman has posed:
Kate Kane reaches up and absently tries to tousle her crimson locks into place with fingers. Partially successfully. She grins. "Yeah, a Zatara." she replies. "He's a member of the Titans, so I told him that this is a Bat-level assignment as well. As far as I know he's only aware of *my* costumed face."

Shrugging, she replies. "He wanted to do some research on our 'Lucifer' and probably demons in general. We should send him something more formal than my verbal briefing as well. Oh, and he'll need a headset if he's going into the field with us."

Gesturing towards the fridge, then, she offers. "I had one of the girls stock the fridge yesterday as well, so don't be shy. I'm counting on you being a big eater."

Red Hood has posed:
"It's fine," Jason says of Kate's hair, but then given the state of his, sticking up in every direction with that distinctive patch of white up front splayed up and out, he wasn't exactly one to judge.

"So did you tell him or did he already know?" Jason asks curious about the identities but nods to the rest. "Good, I'd like to know a bit more about that Lucifer guy myself, he's strange, I think he's being straight but, I dunno..." he makes a face about it before moving on to the gear. "Yeah, that's no problem I can grab him one from the cave when it's go time, armour too, unless he's got it? I am just imagining him walking around in the guy's version of Zee's outfit, minus those fishnets."

The mention of food has Jason going to the fridge. "The girls?" he asks about the fridge fillers as he pulls the door open to survey the contents. "Want an omlette, ham, cheese, all that?" he asks spying the fixings for that amoung all the other food waiting for him. "And you're not wrong," he smiles, as he begins pulling out the things he'll need. "You? I mean, it sort of comes with the territory with all the calories we burn on the regular."

Batwoman has posed:
Kate leans a hand on the counter, facing him while they talk. "I just told him mine as a way to clear the air, before he started down the path of holding a seance for my late mother or something. I figured it would save time all around, and since he's a Titan already it's a very low security risk."

She smiles then, chuckling softly. "I don't think he'd turn down armor, but the kid said he's not afraid of a fight. I believe him, too. Still, you're welcome to try and push fishnets on him if that's your thing." Wink. "He's bright and professional either way."

"An omlette would be heavenly, thanks. And oh! Yeah, the Kane Building admins. Since I'm a resident and heiress, they sometimes run errands for me. They can call for grocery delivery, but draw the line at dry cleaning. And if you're curious Deanna, the pretty brunette, just broke up with her loser-boyfriend. Don't break her heart."

Red Hood has posed:
"Efficient, and yeah, a Titan's likely not going to talk, they know Damian will murder them in their sleep if they did," Jason offers with a smile over his shoulder from the fridge.

"And sounds like the right guy for the job then," he says of Zach's professional demeanor. "Some of those Titans..." he hand wobbles weighing in on where he thought some of them stood when it came down to crunch time. "Anyhow, I'll get him some kit, either out of Bruce's cave or mine," that reminds him. "Did you know he keeps copys of all our suits in that armoury of his? Bruce I mean. Went there last night with Dick," he says his random gossip transitioning to worthwhile news. "He's back, and Bruce gave him his own batsuit, so basically Dick is Batman now, until further notice." You can just feel the enthusiasm there.

"Done and done, want anything special in yours? I'm going meat and cheese, because I'm counting on a early death by heart attack, but can do whatever you want, the girls didn't skimp, I think even Alfred would be jealous of the spread in there."

He cocks his head about Deanna before shaking his head with a chuckle, "You had me until that last part, not sure she needs a new loser boyfriend to follow the last. Kinda a mess right now."
