Description

Lunair is a young woman, likely in her late teens. She looks to be in good health, with a slender to average frame and figure. While architects doing their finals wouldn't boggle over her wardrobe, she isn't featured in any Lovecraftian tales for unusual angles. She seems to be in pretty good shape, and she has slightly pale skin. Her height is smack dab around average (give or take an inch). Her face is lean and angular, with a thin nose and high cheekbones. Her chin's a bit sharp, and her lips are usually dark red. Ah, the joys of make-up.

Her hair is a dark brown, verging on black depending on the light. Often, it has a wave or two to it, falling just shy of being completely straight. She seems to prefer to wear it down. Her ears are adorned with silver earrings, usually in the shape of rosess. For now, she wears a blue shirt, black slacks and flat black shoes, giving her a business like air. That, or somewhere, a Bronte novel exploded.

History

Lunair was not born named Lunair. She started life as a Muriel. Regardless, Lunair was created a very sickly kid with little immune system to be spoken of. It wasn't intentional- merely a side effect of the creation process. She wasn't allowed to be held. Who would? Random staff? Most of her early life was spent in filtered rooms, with cleaned toys and everything. She wasn't expected to live past 8.

Lunair was created as part of a HYDRA program that outwardly had good intentions. It was supposedly cloning, cancer treatments, engineering so parents can choose the traits their children have- only the best! But no one really parented them. Even with TV and some books, she missed out on a lot of critical socialization at a young age. It's left her considerably stunted.

There were only experiments, and tests. As time went on, and some of them began to hit 5-6 years of age things began to get weird. Incidents occurred, and some were manifesting powers. And that's about when things got all Resident Evil up in there. Wanting to test the extent of recovery and power gain, the tests got out of hand. More of the kids began to manifest powers, and Lunair herself ended up manifesting hers when the one kid who could turn into a freaking dragon dude came after her. Freaking out, she pulled a sword out of nowhere and proclaimed herself a knight. This then ended up in a several hour argument between the two on whether girls could be knights or not.

Thankfully, no one was maimed. Things went on, with some training being given to the children although most of it was aimed at understanding their capability rather than functionality. If anyone asked, the children were dead and any remains treated as hazardous waste. A simple, experimental tragedy.

However, having a building of middle school aged children with super powers was just asking for trouble. And trouble happened. No one knows the exact details, but a girl capable of moving earth and stone itself 'freaked out' and brought the buildings down, cratering the place. Also, most of the surviving staff agreed that messing with powered children was a terrible idea. Surely there were easier, and more profitable projects.

Lunair ended up being trained privately and with paramilitary forces as a child soldier in parts of Africa. She was homeschooled, and managed to get the equivalent of a high school diploma. She ended up killing her keepers and fleeing to the US, where she began her career as a mercenary. She largely worked for people who could afford her prices, and declined jobs on children and innocents.

College peaks Lunair's interest, so she is a part time student when not slinging guns for a living.

Personality

Lunair is a very well armed duckling who tends to follow whomever she finds interesting and/or supportive. However, she does have an impish side and a weird sense of humor. She's young, and stunted in some ways (especially emotional maturity) from her experiences. But she really does seem outgoing and enjoys the company of others.

Abilities

INTELLIGENCE
Lunair is actually pretty intelligent, bordering on super human intelligence. She does, after all, have to create the items she makes and make them /work/.

MATTER CREATION
Lunair can create armor of kevlar up to metal for herself, as well as melee weapons, like whips, chains (oh my) and blades. She can even create a spear if needbe. These weapons are temporary, and only exist as long as she is conscious or maintaining them. At max power, she could potentially do diamond edged or high frequency/vibro blades. She can do things like clubs if she needs a less lethal option.

Skills

DISGUISE ARTIST
Lunair has to get close to her targets, so she's learned to do make up really well. It's amazing how little people pay attention to others' faces, or even if she just needs to blend on in.

DRIVING
Lunair is a good driver. She takes to it like a fish to water, and spent a good deal of spare time on learning to do so. She also parks between the lines.

FIGHTING
Lunair's style of fighting seems feral and chaotic at best. But she is indeed, trained not to put her eye out while being effective in combat. She's ahead of at least one vice president! Despite her age, she has been at it a few years. Due to her powers, she favors blades, spears and their ilk.

STEALTH
Tom Clancy, eat your heart out. Lunair can walk quietly, lurk in the shadows and tail people without being noticed. It's the result of hard work and natural talent. The makeup helps, whether it's camouflage or simply not standing out.

Resources

MERCENARY CONTACTS
Lunair is slowly making friends in the industry as she takes jobs and deals with things.

WEALTH
Being a mercenary pays well. And with the money she's accumulated doing jobs like hits on people, Lunair is living comfy. She's not BATMAN wealthy, but she's pretty well off.

Weaknesses

BURNING UP
Lunair will burn her immune system out if she uses her powers too much, leaving her vulnerable to sicknesses more severe and more common in the immunosuppressed. The effects often happen within half an hour. Before this, she'll be tired, pale and sweaty.

FORMER IDENTITY
Having a new identity can be both a boon and a bane. Someone particularly talented on digging up information just might find out that Lunair has a new identity and happens to be a lost part of an experiment/project that some folks just might be very much interested in having back. Stupid awesome serum in her veins.

PTSD
Killing does awful, awful things to one's psyche, particularly when young. Lunair's got some mental issues as a result of it. Even if she manages to do pretty well most days.

RUNNING WOMAN
No one intended any of the kids in the medical trial to end up as they did. But what happened was incredible, and Lunair /does/ still have that serum and those genes in her blood. Those could be useful. Or someone might just want a guinea pig back. Hopefully they do not put her in a guinea pig fur suit. Because that's just weird. And terrifying.

SHELTERED
For the most part, an experiment tightly controls what its subjects see and do, what they learn and where they go. Serving as a child soldier meant she wasn't exactly watching cartoons and reading books. While Lunair's made impressive strides, she's very /odd/ sometimes, as she didn't get out and socialize much or really partake of TV and the internet. She talks in stilted ways sometimes and she's terrifingly impressionable. She'll be at a distinct disadvantage against social powerhouses.
