Description:

Impeccable and precise, Jeanne has gorgeous features, with a heart-shaped face and plush, red lips. Her nightblack hair she keeps relatively short, just long enough to tuck behind her ears, fashionable and convenient at the same time. Blue eyes seem older than her tender years, direct and focuse, and, when ready for action, a black domino mask helps hide her identity. Her voice has a breathy, husky quality and she has the lingering ghost of a French accent.

She has a gymnast's build, toned and compact. She wears a tight black bodysuit, with a white panel down the center and white gloves and boots. A simple utility belt is wrapped around her waist. She usually carries escrima sticks which can be combined into a bo staff as her weapon of choice.

History

History:

Jeanne's history is relatively straightforward. She was born in France to wealthy parents. Her father has always been a man of mystery, often absent and possessing gifts much like Jeanne's own. He was home rarely, almost a mythic figure, treated with a mixture of reverence, adoration and occasional resentment. Jeanne was always a bright child and lacked for nothing - she was spoiled unabashedly and wouldn't have it any other way. She showed a penchant for gymnastics, dance and, perhaps atypically for a girl of her class and background, mathematics.

Even from the age of 8, she attended boarding school in Switzerland, coming home only for summers and holidays. When she reached puberty, however, things changed. Her intelligence seemed to enter a state of hyperdrive, allowing her to master new skills and subjects with terrifying ease. She completed all of her courses of study and quickly began to outstrip her teachers in their subjects. Recognizing her abilities for what they were, her father had her withdrawn from conventional schooling and began to have her home-tutored.

Over the next years, she would rapidly accrue a massive reservoir of skills and abilities: martial arts, tactics, art and literature, science and history. Everything she tried, she mastered. Her isolation, however, began to display some other side effects - she became even more disenchanted with other people, having difficulty relating to average human beings, almost alien in her behavior. Her mother's pleading lead to the decision to send her back to school, this time in America, once a proper learning institution could be found. Here, she has been forced to interact with others once again and sort out how to deal with people, whether she likes it or not. And if she happens to meet other superhumans for the first time, perhaps she'll even make friends. Or not. She isn't particularly sure she cares either way.

Personality

Personality:

At first glance, Jeanne seems absolutely self-confident, even arrogant. She recognizes her abilities for what they are and knows that she is supremely skilled and almost always right in regard to anything intellectual or practical. Her masterful self-control and diamond-sharp mind give her an incredible advantage and she tends to approach the world with a sense of logic and curiosity. She often seems quite detached and indifferent to the feelings of others, even mystified when she does something that others find upsetting or off-putting. She finds their emotional ways confusing and illogical, enough so that it almost angers her at times.

But, much as she may play otherwise, she does have a degree of craving for these things. She may not understand emotions entirely, but she knows how it feels to be happy. She isn't often terribly happy, not in a deep or satisfying way, and she sometimes takes that out on others. She can be a bully, she can be cruel, but she also wants to connect, even if she doesn't really know how - and even if she often pretends otherwise. She is also, however, a natural deceiver and has no particular set of morals or compunctions about using other people for her own ends.

Abilities

Intellect:
In conjunction with her hyperlearning, Jeanne's intellectual capacities function at a superhuman level. She can make complex calculations in her head in seconds, without use of a calculator. She retains a 3D perfect memory of everything she sees and experiences. She has a supreme grasp of logic and can function with among the most brilliant minds on Earth. That said, she finds certain subjects a bit boring and, for all her intellectual ability, she may not always use it to its highest degree.

Learning:
Jeanne possesses an innate ability to acquire new knowledge and skills with terrifying rapidity. She has a perfect memory, both physical and mental, allowing her to instantly recreate any skill she sees performed and remember any knowledge she reads. She can master an entire academic field within a day or two, and a new martial art just as rapidly. She absorbs data like a sponge, making connections and drawing conclusions that others might take months or years to achieve.

Mentality:
While she doesn't have any particular skills or training in psychic resistance, Jeanne's mind isn't an easy place for telepaths. She has a vast and detailed memory, thinks at lightning speed and is usually thinking about up to a dozen things at the same time. Her mind is confusing and labyrinthine and finding even something as simple as her surface thoughts won't necessarily be easy - especially if you want to do it undetected, for she is highly self-aware.

Self-Control:

Because of her enhanced mind, Jeanne has incredible control over her body. She can shift her breathing and heartrate up and down to simulate death, can reduce (although not entirely dismiss) pain by ignoring pain receptors and can flood her body with adrenaline in times of need. She has immense precision and control over her physical actions, able to move and strike within a millimeter, her mind calculating her perceptions to allow her to strike and react with frightening accuracy. Of course, just because her body perfectly obeys her mind doesn't mean her mind always makes the right decisions.

Skills

Computers:
Like most modern young people, Jeanne's been around computers all her life. She's a masterful programmer, capable of coming up with apps and programs of her own at the drop of a hat. She's also an elite level hacker, her mind particularly well-suited for parsing the complex world of cybersecurity, and she often commits rather daring acts of cybercrime just for her own amusement.

Deception:
Jeanne is an exceptional liar, capable of telling falsehoods without regret, hesitance or fear. She can pass lie detector tests with ease, mastering her heartrate and skin temperature. She can look someone directly in the eye and never waver for a second as she states a bold falsehood. Having a photographic memory, she remembers all her lies and makes sure to keep them consistent as much as she possibly can. Sometimes she lies for no reason other than that she can, just to see what happens.

Gymnastics:
Even before her mutation manifested, Jeanne was a skilled tumbler. With her enhanced mind and body control, she's a startling athletic specimen, an Olympic level acrobat and gymnast. She's learned to incorporate her agility and acrobatic maneuvers into her fighting style, making her a whirling dervish in a fight.

Martial Arts:
Jeanne has mastered well over a dozen martial arts, her ability to absorb skills and styles letting her add them quickly to her repertoire, integrating them into one another to make something her own. Her training includes judo, krav maga, ninjitsu, karate, tae kwan do, muay thai, and escrima stick fighting. She is quite formidable as a hand-to-hand combatant and is excellent with most forms of martial or traditional Eastern weapons.

Polyglot:
Jeanne speaks a vast number of languages, finding adding new tongues to her arsenal to be a rather amusing hobby for her spare time. At current, she speaks French, English, German, Swiss-German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Czech, Arabic, Persian, Punjabi and Hebrew. She desperately wants access to alien and non-human dialects, but hasn't had the opportunity as of yet.

Polymath:

Jeanne has exposed herself academically to a wide variety of subjects, absorbing libraries full of knowledge to give her a massive base from which to draw. Architecture, history, literature, mathematics, a wide range of sciences. She's capable of speed-reading and subscribes to a wide variety of academic journals, keeping up on the latest developments. That said, some things interest her more than others - for example, she loves mathematics but finds certain branches of science quite dull. The more interest she has in a subject, the better learned she generally is. In addition, most of this knowledge is book learning and isn't quite the same as field knowledge. She understands all the inner workings of a combustion engine, for example, but it would take a few minutes of trial and error to apply it to repair a car. Not very long, mind you, given how quickly she learns, but still, it wouldn't be instant.

Resources

Trust Fund:

Jeanne's parents have quite a bit of wealth, although her access to it is limited to her trust fund. Said trust fund is in the mid six-digits, however, and she has credit cards paid by her parents that don't have limits. She keeps track of her expenditures carefully - and isn't afraid to steal when she doesn't want her parents to see what she bought.

Weaknesses

Behavior Blind:
As easily as she can understand facts and logic, Jeanne has great difficulty understanding human behavior and human emotions. She finds people mystifying, confusing and unpredictable. She can rarely read what other people are feeling, is terrible at interpreting facial expressions (and often has resting b**** face herself). She can be taken off guard or just plain bewildered by other people. She finds this very frustrating.

Bored Now:
For all of her capacity for learning, Jeanne's attention span isn't always the greatest. Since she learns so quickly, anything that takes too long or isn't to her taste or interest quickly gets dismissed as her mind searches for something more appealing. She can grow distracted or bored even during otherwise dire situations and will allow her mind to wander.

Hubris:
Jeanne, as a hyperskilled supergenius, has quite an ego. She tends to assume she has everything handled, doesn't take other people as seriously as she should and in general acts pretty full of herself. Yes, she is incredibly capable and can do wondrous things, but she's not perfect and she certainly isn't always nice.

Legacy:

Jeanne's father is not a good man. He has done many evil things and he has made many enemies. Some of those enemies would not hesitate to target his daughter, either for ransom or harm.
