Born to FARC parents in Colombia, Mariah Isadora Fox was raised to be a revolutionary. Spirited away to the barrios of Caracas in Venezuela after FARC's disarmament, her new country was soon embroiled in crisis. With her mutant powers of gold-generation and aurokinesis manifesting, the desperate and criminal elements of the barrios slew her family and kidnapped her, taking her into the jungles to farm her for gold. After finally making good on her escape, Mariah now lives the life of a perpetual wanderer, torn between her desire to help the poor and oppressed, and the knowledge that doing so may draw trouble to her and others like a magnet.

AUROKINESIS

Iron that has been changed into gold can be freely manipulated within Mariah's auric field. Mariah can change its shape and state (pulling it into a wire, turning it from a solid to a liquid, breaking it up into dust particles) and can cause it to levitate and orbit her at a range of ten feet from her person. This allows her to slingshot gold objects at targets or move sheets of gold around her as a shield, or project gold in basic shapes at her attackers. Mariah can only fabricate things out of gold as well a she understands their mechanics. If she doesn't understand how something mechanically works, she cannot replicate it. Likewise, once the gold leaves her aural field, unless the item is 'fixed' into gold, it will return to its original material composition.

IRON SENSE

Mariah can sense sources of iron in her immediate vicinity as well as the amount of iron in an object, even if it is hidden from view or behind objects. She can detect the location and shape of the iron bearing object in a way that is not directly connected to her other senses. For lack of a better way of describing it, she refers to it as "feeling" the iron. Mariah's Iron Sight has a maximum range of half a mile. Large amounts of iron in an area can make it difficult for her to distinguish between individual objects.

IRON TO GOLD

Mariah can transmute any iron-bearing material into gold, so long as the material is within her immediate vicinity (roughly 100 feet). She projects an invisible aura round her that is in fact an extension of her life force. When a iron-bearing material is within the field of her aura, she can transmute that substance or object into gold through a conscious act of will. With another act of will, she can consciously "fix" the transformed item into gold permanently; otherwise, when the transformed object will revert to its original state when exiting the aura. Mariah can only transform what is within the range of her field and the transformation costs her in life energy and endurance. The larger the object or amount of matter changed, the more weak she becomes, risking instantly knocking herself unconscious when trying to change a large or massive object.

GUERILLA WARFARE

Thanks to her father and her experiences, Mariah has more than a passing familiarity with military weapons, terminology, training and vehicles. She was prepared from an early age to join a revolutionary army and is skilled in guerilla tactics and urban warfare. She knows how to use common military weapons, drive common military ground vehicles, and is skilled in basic unarmed combat techniques that are a mish-mash of street brawling and generic martial arts.

JEWELRY MAKING

Mariah can use her mutant abilities to create rings, necklaces, earrings and other forms of gold jewelry, as well as gold figures and statuary.

MULTI-LINGUAL

Mariah speaks Spanish, Portugese, Quechua and English thanks to her relatives, and contact her family had with revolutionary forces throughout her life.

SURVIVALIST

Mariah knows her way around the jungle, both vegetable and concrete. She can provide food, clothing, first aid and shelter for herself (and others) for an extended period of time both in urban and wild settings. She is street smart, observant, and has a high degree of situational awareness.

THIEVERY

Mariah is skilled at breaking and entering, lockpicking and pickpocketing. She is not a master at the craft, but she can get into civilian installations and rob the average person without being caught.

Mariah can gain information, shelter and necessities from FARC rebels who were sympathetic to Mariah's father and the original goals of the revolution. This provides assistance as far as the northern nations of South America and Cuba.

GOLDEN GOOSE

Mariah can create gold. People have and will try to trick, trap or force her into gold production, and more powerful entities might take action against her to prevent her from flooding the gold market and weakening its value.

IMPULSIVE

Mariah is prone to acting on impulse, without heed to the potential consequences of said actions. If it's fun, exciting, or 'the right thing to do', she'll jump at the opportunity to act. Those that know her, care about her or are responsible for her are going to need a steady supply of migraine medication, or a really good straight jacket to rope her in.

LIFE FOR GOLD

While Mariah can freely transform and manipulate the gold she creates, in order to permanently fix it as gold, she must 'pay' with life energy. The more gold created, the greater the amount of life energy she spends. Too much can weaken, emaciate, knock out or even kill her. She must spend time sleeping and eating to recover life energy, and if she has used up too much, may need medical or other intervention to heal her.

MERCURY

The gold Mariah generates is subject to a mercury weakness; contact with mercury causes the gold to revert back to its original material and Mariah to lose control of it. She herself is allergic to mercury; contact with it causes tissue damage similar to severe chemical burns.
