Profile

Noh-Varr is an explorer and diplomat from the Kree Empire of Earth-200090. After being shot down and stranded in this universe, he for a while struggled to find revenge against the people who did it, but now mostly struggles to find somewhere he belongs in a place he really doesn't. Well-versed in incredibly high level Kree sciences, particularly dimensional sciences and engineering, he perceives Earth as primitive and needing to be protected from itself. If it needs to be protected from him or not has yet to be seen, but if nothing else, he usually backs up his arrogance with results, even if hubris can get the best of him at times.

Description:

Noh-Varr stands at around 5'10", built to peak athletic physical condition. He appears to be somewhere in his early to mid-twenties, with short white hair that appears to be slicked back with gel, but a closer look would show a distinct lack of such keeping it in that position. He has a stray bang or two that hangs down to the brow of his green eyes. Other than his hair color, he otherwise looks like a normal human male, despite his pure Kree origins. His light skin is flawless, unmarred by any scars or discoloration.

Like most "heroes", or whatever one prefers to call Noh-Varr, he wears a skin tight bodysuit made of a leathery fabric, but it's far more flexible. It's a very dark, almost black green with a light green trim. The middle of his chest and back, wrists and hands (except for the green-black fingers), crotch, and his inner thighs are all white colored. On his shoulders are gold colored squares with a circular symbol on them, his golden gauntlets are worn on his wrists, and he has a golden belt with a red circular buckle in the front. While his feet are covered by what appear to be boots, they're a seamless part of his body suit, with a light green trim over the almost black green lower leg part of the suit.

History

History:

Genetically engineered with Cockroach DNA in the Kree Empire of Earth-200090, Noh-Varr was brought up and taught the Kree ways like every other Kree, though he was meant for something more. He had a lot of specialized training from birth. Experimental combat training, and taught highly advanced dimensional and technological sciences.

Noh-Varr and his family were in the 18th Kree Diplomatic Gestalt, led by Captain Glory. Their mission was to negotiate a ceasefire between the Kree and Skrulls of their dimension. They answered five distress calls after their successful mission, and during a call involving three Astro-Gods (ala Galactus-like beings), the fight between such powerful beings sent them shooting into another universe.

They spent a long time travelling to random alternate realities while trying to find their way back home. When they found what they believed to be their home, locking on to what would turn out to be Earth in another reality, they finally entered the atmosphere, but they were shot down. Noh-Varr was the only survivor, and the ship materialized under New York, becoming embedded deep into the abandoned subway system.

After weeks of altercation with the organization that shot him down, the underground ship was destroyed, along with many of their collected artifacts, and this left Noh-Varr alone, on Earth.

With the few bits of technology he had left, he began to wander the Earth, trying to figure out if he should find a way home, if he should go to this universe's Kree, or try to perhaps save or conquer this primitive planet.

This is where we find ourselves now.

Personality

Personality:

Noh-Varr is, ironically, a peacekeeper. His former job was essentially being an ambassador between worlds and dimensions with his team, and preserving peace where ever they were. He likes to relax and doesn't really cause trouble for the sake of causing trouble, unless he thinks people deserve it. That said, he can quickly fly into violence, or actions that would make describing them as "rash" seem like an understatement. He's not completely without pity, and he //can// be reasoned with. He tends to hold a great deal of pessimism for most humans, given the fact that a human shot his ship down and killed everyone he cared about in the incident.

He's met plenty of individuals who impress him, but humanity at large is still something he sees as potentially a massive failure. He's still not sure if he should protect people he sees as so inferior, or take them over for their own good. It will largely depend on his future experiences with them and the people around them. He has a deep desire to return home, but believes he has no way of doing so because of the virtually infinite number of realities, even if he //did// repair his ship.

He believes in the Kree way above most any other society's ways. The Kree mathematical equation they believe disproves deities, the Supreme Intelligence, nationalism, imperialism, and militarism. It's all finely ingrained into his psyche, and he only just //barely// considers humanity to even be a society. From his first broad impressions of humanity, he feels as if he's trapped back in time with a bunch of violent cavemen, fearing the worst for having a future with them, he'd much rather change humanity for what he sees as a better direction.

I don't necessarily believe that there's one single key personality element, because there's no aspect of the personality that just stands alone and doesn't affect any other. Removing one trait changes how other traits are portrayed. One could make the argument that his Kree pride is possibly the one driving element that goes unchanged, but he's still put into situations where he sometimes has to question it.

Abilities

Kree Physiology:
His physical abilities are due to having genetically altered cockroach DNA spliced into his Kree DNA, making him much more physically adept than a normal Kree and endowed with abilities that they aren't born with. Notable are his ability to wall-crawl, similar to Spider-Man, and his ability to eat and digest all organic substances.

Nanobots:
His saliva has nanobots that when in contact with someone's skin (assuming it can penetrate) can make them have a brief hallucination that he controls to a degree, or outright temporary mind control (subject to OOC consent, of course).

He can grow sharp nails on his fingers that can (if he wants) cause a large explosion, enough to take out a large room, after breaking it off into something.

The nails can also release a toxin that can cause the person to black out for an extended period, if they can penetrate the skin.

The nanobots are able to reroute sensations in his body, making him able to turn pain into other sensations for a while, and vice versa, and generally control his own body chemistry. His hair can be grown or solidified at will.

Super Durability:
Noh-Varr's body can stand up to average human military weapons, with the upper limit of his durability being something like a full on punch from Namor. He's triple-joined, so it's very difficult to dislocate his limbs, and he can hold awkward positions for long periods of time. He can also withstand things like full body burns, making his body very durable, though certainly not invincible when it comes to advanced weapons and sustained super powered fights.

Super Hearing:
His hearing is enhanced enough to hear something like an arrow moving through the air, or a whispered conversation, though they would at least need to be within the same area as him.

Superhuman Speed:
His speed is much greater than that of a peak human athlete, but he can reach speeds of up to 150mph when he's fully focused and white running. His reflexes, particularly when combined with his super hearing, allow him to respond to things like an arrow or laser fire with ridiculous quickness, and dodge some of a speedster's attacks with his reaction time and ability to anticipate rather than raw speed. Though a powerful speedster could of course overwhelm him with attacks.

Superhuman Stamina:
With his intense physical training and genetically enhanced physiology comes a great amount of stamina. Provided he has food to eat, he can operate pretty much non-stop for at least three days.

Superhuman Strength:
His raw enhanced Kree strength is far higher than that of a normal human's or Kree's due to genetic engineering. He can lift up to 25 tons fairly easily, with anything more causing him to strain.

Willpower:

Noh-Varr has an incredible amount of willpower. He's had intense mental training and is very much set in the ways of the Kree. There isn't a whole lot that can shake his force of will, as he's willing to play through pain and even be defiant in the face of psychological or physical torture.

While he can't see through mental illusions or defend himself from psychic attacks, he can usually detect when powers that affect his mind are being used on him and when something is a mental illusion or psychic attack, and if they're in his line of sight, he can sometimes pinpoint who the user is, though it depends on the person and the nature of their ability.. This means that while these things can be used on him and he doesn't have a defense against them, it's very difficult to actually fool him with illusions and psychic abilities.

Skills

Expert Combatant:
Noh-Varr is a highly skilled armed and unarmed combatant. His fighting style is highly pragmatic in that he observes and adapts to the situation at hand with an extreme level of almost instinctive tactical planning, not relying on any specific fighting style but forming whatever maneuver is the most efficient as he goes along.

He's also able to "White Run", a trance-like state to block out everything except his current actions; not feeling pain, seeing, or hearing anything except his current task. This greatly raises his focus and efficiency until he's completed his goal, operating at peak levels of efficiency and skill. This is generally taxing to do for an extended period, so white runs are typically done in short bursts of a few minutes at a time, as they're meant to get a fight over with as quickly as possible.

Expert Marksman:
He's incredibly precise with all manner ranged weaponry, things below his technology level not being very difficult to figure out even if he's never used it before.

Expert Pilot:
Noh-Varr is an expert at piloting Kree vehicles. He could pilot most human vehicles due to their low technology level, except perhaps less public tech that would require a bit of getting used to.

Languages:
Noh-Varr knows many major alien languages from diplomatic planets. He's fluent in Kree, Kryptonian, Martian, Shi'ar, and Skrull thanks to his old supercomputer the Plex downloading them into his brain, as these are some of the most well known diplomatic races that the Kree know of in his universe. He knows bits and pieces of other languages due to some brief diplomatic missions, but isn't fluent. He's also downloaded Earth's languages to his brain with the Plex, before the computer was destroyed. Though there's no way he could have learned dead or ancient languages, since he downloaded currently used languages to his brain from the internet.

Science:

By human standards he has genius level intellect in the technological fields of science. He's a specialist at technology involving dimensional science, general engineering, and time travel (such things at staff discretion, of course). Hacking/modifying/upgrading human computers and technology isn't a very difficult task for him (except for things meant to keep advanced aliens out). Though making things at an advanced Kree level of technology does take time, an incredible amount of energy, and resources that are very impractical to acquire on Earth (Such as Reed Richards or Tony Stark level resources).

Resources

Gauntlets:
His Gauntlets are capable of transforming into a wide range of forms. Gun forms can fire blasts of varying sizes, such as small concussive blasts or powerful plasma blasts that can heavily damage buildings or just damage people depending on the size. It can also take the form of blades, and fire self-replicating grenades.

Pocket Battlefield:
An area of local space that lasts for one minute, where Noh-Varr can control gravity, momentum, and inertia. What this essentially does is allow him to fight on par with someone much stronger than he is, or allow him to save himself or others in a dire situation, such as a ship crashing or something, by altering the physics of a 50 foot radius. Though after this 1 minute is up, the pocket battlefield has to be charged before it can be used again, allowing it to only be used once before he can return somewhere it can be charged, which can take hours and lots of energy. It can also be broken through by people who have technology, magic, or whatever else that can manipulate pockets of reality.

Super-Dense Costume:

Noh-Varr's costume is made of super-dense alien metals, meaning it's much harder to rip than simple fabric, though it doesn't offer much more in the way of protection than his natural skin does.

Weaknesses

Humanity:
Considering they shot his ship down and killed his friends and family, and what he's studied of human culture, he doesn't have a lot of hope for the human race to survive on their own. Because of this, he's hell-bent on either taking over, destroying the human race, or taking it upon himself to help them advance in some way. Though he is generally good natured, and tends to stay on the side of helping them, his poor impression of the human race can make him volatile at times. He is by no means an actual villain, and more of a misguided and often arrogant alien.

Monitored:
He's monitored (unknown to him) by SHIELD and other government organizations due to his capabilities and his unknown and sometimes volatile nature. He's not quite a great enough threat to be arrested yet, so he's being monitored just in case he does decide to try and follow through with world domination or some of the other things he may have mentioned in passing where the wrong people heard.

Propaganda:
His head is full of Kree propaganda, he believes Kree ways are superior to all others, and easily finds cultures "less evolved" than his to be primitive, expendable, or at least worth taking over and changing. This, obviously, can easily bring him into a conflict.

Reckless:
Noh-Varr has a habit of being incredibly reckless. Even though he usually thoroughly plans and thinks his actions through, the course of action he //planned// turns out appearing completely reckless anyway at times. He doesn't always see the need for being subtle. Also, due to Noh-Varr's skills, heritage, and general breeding, he can be a bit overconfident. His expert tactical analyzing isn't completely flawless, but in most situations he certainly //thinks// it is.

Refuel:

If Noh-Varr uses his nanobot abilities too much, he needs to eat, a lot, particularly when he uses the more explodey ones. This also applies when he's been pushing his body to great lengths and basically burns through his superhuman capability to push himself. Without the ability to eat a load of food, starving him out makes it fairly difficult for him to function at his usual superhuman capacity.
