Description:

Michelle Docherty is a six foot, 245 pound male in his mid-forties. He has the physique of an amateur powerlifter built from a lifetime of casual workouts. A big thick belly, round shoulders, legs like tree trunks, and forearms that looks like they could crush rebar, but no "pretty" muscle definition to be seen. His hands and face are weathered and calloused, showing a lifetime of hard labor.

He has a thinning mass of Amber Red hair with a lengthy set of scraggly red mutton chops framing his square jaw line, giving evidence to a strong Scottish ancestry. He has three tattoos which he usually keeps covered under his clothing. His left arm has a "Guns and Roses" motif style sleeve from his shoulder to his elbow. A colored 23rd Calvary and Army crossed cannons insignia cover his right pectoral and a pair of faded dog tags on his lower right short ribs.

He usually wears bulky loose clothing and heavy work boots.

History

History1:
Born May 23, 1982 in a small farming community outside of Tyler Texas. His father was an alcoholic over the road trucker for the East Texas oil fields while his mother was a simple housekeeper and Michelle was the youngest with three older brothers. Michelle played linebacker and center for his high school football team and was on the Junior Power Lifting team during the off season. His summer jobs entailed various handyman work at the local farms and during his Junior and Senior Years he landed a job as an apprentice diesel technician at the local tractor-trailer service facility.

In 2001, during the second semester of his senior year in high school he got his sweetheart pregnant. They married (much to her parents' disapproval) shortly after graduation, and in order to provide for her he joined the US Army. He landed an MOS specialty of 91A - M1 Abrams Tank System Maintainer. 9-11 happened while he was in MOS training school and was deployed to Afghanistan shortly after. He left his wife and child at home in Tyler during his many long deployments over the course of the Afghan and Iraqi wars. In 2005 his wife filed for divorce against her absentee husband as she had found a new provider.

2007 Michelle completed his active duty tour and opted to get out rather than re-enlist. He wanted a chance to go home, earn a living and get custody of his daughter. He went into the residential and commercial construction industry, finding steady work in Dallas Texas, while starting night school with the use of his GI bill. In 2008 the housing crisis hit and he was laid off. He leaned into school with the use of student loans and his GI bill to both work on his academics and start taking specialized vocational classes at the local community colleges. His student loan debts were starting to mount up, but over the course of five years he earned a Bachelors in Business as a whole host of general contractor certifications ranging from plumbing, electrical work, to welding and auto mechanic. He was determined to go into business for himself, and every certification was one more thing he could legally do for his clients.

He started numerous one man companies: "Dorcherty Lockmithing," "Dorcherty Towing." "The Handyman Tank", "Battle Tank Plumbing," "A1 An Onsite Auto Mechanic" "Armored Security Installations" "Artillery Roofing", and the list goes on. But between his bad luck, student loans, and child support payments none of his businesses ever stayed in the black for very long. That and his wife was always asking for "Extra" for his daughter, a summer camp here, help for her first car, a homecoming dress there. He never held back when it came to his little girl, he felt guilty for only being able to see for two weeks every summer.

To make ends meet he would occasionally work as a master welder on short term assignments for the now booming natural gas industry that was erupting in Northern and Midwestern Texas. He went out and hit up trucking school to acquire his Commercial Trucking license and started working for Texas Land and Petroleum on a regular basis, able to both haul in materials and help complete the work at remote rural sites. Things were starting to level out, and he was able to pay off the majority of student loans, and even managed to put his little girl through her first four years of college. Though he still had numerous Chapter 7 bankruptcies on his record from the previous (and ongoing) failed businesses.

History2:

In 2025 He met Sally in a small dive bar in Temple Texas. A whirlwind of hellfire and booze half his age, she had the big bear wrapped around her finger. He was due for a midlife crisis, so he grabbed on and made many poor (but very fun) life decisions. The two ended up in a Vegas style wedding / honeymoon only 6 weeks after they first met. And the next three years was filled with ultimate highs and amazing arguments as the two tried clashed and made up over and over again. She constantly badgered him that they needed to move to New York City, as she was convinced she had the beauty and acting talent to be on Broadway. She convinced him that they could liquidate their assets and move to New York - and with his skills it would be easy for him to find work there, either in the shipyards as a welder or just a general handyman. They would be fine. Michelle eventually gave in.

She "helped" him with the paperwork and planning to get them both moved and set up in New York City. He co-signed on several school loans for Sally to attend the New York Film Academy starting in in the Spring Semester of 2028. It was agreed that she would go on ahead to New York and he would follow as soon as he finished up his current Oil Field assignment in another two to three weeks. They talked on the phone almost daily during this time.

So Michelle packs up the last of his things, and drives up to New York City to meet his wife at the Motel 6 she was staying at. When he got there, she wasn't. He called her and she said, "Hey babe, it's been fun. I'm okay, but I don't think we are a good fit for each other in the long run. I'm having some paperwork delivered tomorrow morning." and then promptly hung up on him.

The package that was delivered was a completed notification of marriage annulment. Michelle he had apparently signed off on it while Sally was "Helping" with the preparations for the move. In frustration he went to the corner store to get a six pack of beer so he could think. His debit card wasn't working. A few phone calls to his bank later and Michelle discovered old Sally had cleaned him out of every penny. So now he was in New York, with an old beat up pickup truck, staying at a pre-paid Motel 6 without a penny to his name or a place back in Texas to return home to. He spent his last twenty bucks on two six packs.

Personality

Personality:

Michelle Dorcherty is a jovial good natured giant. You help your fellow man like a good American and Christian when you are able to. He is boisterous in voice and comically aggressive in his dealings with others. He is a sucker for a pretty girl and is always gentle with women, a product of his East Texas Upbringing. He has the stereotypical "Get-er-done" blue collar mentality, even if it means duct tape and baleen line temporary fix to get through the next fifteen minutes.

His morality centers on the ideal of "A fair deal for those that deserve it." If they don't deserve it, don't do business with them, or fleece em if it doesn't hurt em to bad. Any time it comes to the bank, an insurance company, or the IRS, they can go to hell, those greedy corporate trolls. He has a southern sense of "Chivalry" in the idea that most things can be settled like civilized barbarians in the back alley or parking lot, between two consenting individuals. Though some people just need to be popped in the mouth to teach em some manners.

If he could he would fly the confederate flag. To him it represents freedom and independence from oppressive government as well as southern pride. He is not racist, and is very consciously aware of what it represents to the majority of Americans in this modern age.

Abilities

Michelle has a natural mechanical aptitude. Able to visualize what things do and how things interact with one another. With reasonable time, trial and error, he can fix or modify most things concerning "modern" technology or structural issues. The level of this trait is what you would expect any good general contractor, electrician or mechanic to possess. This ability is not anything approaching superhuman.

Power Lifter Physique:

Michelle does have the above average physique of an amateur power lifter developed from a lifetime of weight training. He is very good at lifting heavy things and has and exceptionally strong grip. His build is catered towards slow endurance, and struggles with sustained high cardio aerobic activities. He jogs well, but is a poor sprinter.

Given proper time he can reliably hit his mark. He is most familiar with hunting rifles, pump action shotguns, large caliber revolvers and the occasional a hunting bow.

Hobbyist Athlete:
Michelle is possesses the equivalent knowledge of competent personal trainer, specifically tailored to the body building or powerlifting sports. He uses this knowledge on a daily basis to maintain his desired body weight and fitness level.

This knowledge was originally learned in high school as a member of the Football and Junior Power lifting teams. He has consistently treated personal fitness as a lifestyle choice, carrying forward the power lifting routines throughout his lifetime.

Tank Crew Member:
Michelle can help operate a tank as part of a trained crew from his six years as a Tank Mechanic with the U.S. Army. He can perform any of the necessary positions of Gunner, Driver, Radio Operator, Loader or Commander. His usual assigned position was that of loader. His primary MOS was that of technician and so knows how to repair and maintain an M1 Abrams tank given proper resources and materials. It should be noted that he has not been a member of a tank crew in over 20 years.

Tradesman:
Michelle has spent a lifetime acquiring and practicing a slew of general trade certifications and blue collar skills. He also has a bachelors in business from a community college in Texas. Resources

Other Resources:
Michelle doesn't like keeping money in a personal bank account. He usually has somewhere between five and ten thousand dollars in cash stashed away in either his safe or other various hidey holes he can come up with for personal and business operating expenses. Any money from his various businesses are kept in separate accounts at separate banks under the appropriate LLC, just in case any of them go belly up. His total available cash assets fluctuates from twenty to forty thousand dollars in cash or various LLC accounts from month to month.

He also has rents a very small auto mechanic garage under the business name of "A1 Armored Automotive LLC" in a run-down strip mall forty miles outside of New York City with a fenced in yard that he keeps his other business vehicles.

Currently he is staying at Motel 6 until he can established enough credit to rent an apartment or outright purchase some distressed property he can fix up.

Vehicles:

Work Truck: 2012 White Ford F250 converted to run on natural gas with a large propane tank in the bed. It has a range of 900 miles on a full tank. It is equipped with extended racks, and locked cabinets to hold all of the other tools he uses in his various handyman jobs he manages to get such as mobile locksmithing equipment, a basic set of carpentry tools, welding kit, mobile table saw, collapsible saw horses, ladder, shovels etc. Only about half of the available space in the bed is left haul materials to and from a site. New York Plates.

Unmarked Box Truck: Mid-sized White U-Haul style box truck. Technically it is a salvaged vehicle. Registered to JA Company LLC. New York Plates.

Weaknesses

Poor Finances:
Michelle may have a bachelors in business and is very good at day to day operations, but he has very poor long term financial instincts. He is prone to over purchasing assets or over estimating his next quarter profits. This causes him to over spend and under earn consistently in the long run, causing many of his business ventures to fail.

In addition to this, his personal finances are a mess. His 2nd ex-wife cleaned him out and he is starting from scratch. He has three personal chapter 7 bankruptcies and a multitude of smaller L.L.C.s with his name on them that also filed for bankruptcy over the last 20 years of him trying to get ahead in life. As such it is extremely difficult for Michelle to acquire standard lines of credit.

Quick Tempered-Chivalry:

Michelle can be aggressive and quick to temper when someone starts slinging personal insults. He is fast on the draw to throw someone out of his shop or leave a job if someone starts making aggressive frivolous complaints about his work or the state of his service.

He is also a sucker when it comes to women. He is overly generous and trusting with women who earn his trust and is very visibly gentler when talking with any woman, whether or not he has met them before. And will nearly always start a bar brawl if he think a woman has been disrespected in his presence.
