Romance is a part of the human condition, and it can lend such wonderful depth to interactions. But on this game, we do strive for strong storyline, for characterization, and slice of life representation. It can be difficult to cultivate that sort of a setting. When you have a primary contribution to the shared storyline as being little more than repeated fade to black scenes with multiple characters with little to no continuity or context to lend it weight, it cheapens everyone else's interactions. There have been times when a new player comes to the game and must retcon the play of a previous player due to this sort of situation. It would be appreciated if you take a moment to think about the community and players who will inherit that character in the future. Also, if you're going to be playing a romantic scene, perhaps consider not submitting it to be logged unless something pivotal or some form of plot development were to occur.

If you are playing a canon character, there is a responsibility to future players of that character. For that reasons, things such as engagement, marriage, and/or pregnancy must be something that is played toward for a long period of time. We aren't going to tell you who your character can date but we are asking that this be a long-term commitment to the characters and the roleplay to reach these goals rather than doing so in a rush and potentially causing a situation a future player may have never chosen for the character. To take these steps with a canon character, you will need to seek staff approval before any of them take place in play.

Romance is a part of the human condition, and it can lend such wonderful depth to interactions. But on this game, we strive for strong storylines, for characterisation, and slice of life representation. It can be difficult to cultivate that sort of a setting. When you have a primary contribution to the shared storyline as being little more than repeated fade to black scenes, with multiple characters, or with little to no continuity and context to lend it weight, it cheapens everyone else's interactions.

For that reason, things such as cohabitation, engagement, marriage, and/or pregnancy must be something that is played toward for a long period of time. We aren't going to tell you who your character can date, but we are asking that this be a long-term commitment to the characters and there be role-play to reach these goals, rather than doing so in a rush and potentially cause a situation future players may have never chosen for the character. To take these steps with a canon character, you will need to seek staff approval before any of them take place in play.
