Who are the X-Men?
The X-Men are a private superhero team, created to bring about peace between the emerging homo sapiens superior, otherwise known as Mutants, and baseline humans. The team is comprised of Mutants who have been trained and educated in the use of their powers at the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Their operations are funded by Professor Charles Xavier's family fortune, and from the patents he created.

What is the team's theme?
The X-Men follow Charles Xavier's dream of humans and mutants coexisting peacefully. However, achieving that may require opposing those who would do harm to either man or mutants. The team aims to avoid killing as anything but a last resort after other options have been exhausted. The team is generally ethical, but the situations they face can create grey lines. These are fantastic areas for exploration by the stories we write. There has been some interest in a black ops team, which may be possible so long as they try to stick to Xavier's Dream as closely as possible.

It should also be kept in mind that the students of Xavier's school look up to the X-Men. Behavior that is too negative can affect the students and would be treated appropriately by the group leadership.

What do the public know about the X-Men?
The public knows there are a group of mutant heroes called The X-Men. They do not know the team is based out of Xavier's School, do not know of any connection to the school. The public does not know who the members of the X-Men are unless an individual player has chosen to have their character reveal themselves publicly as an X-man. Remember another player may one day take over the character and not wish to have been known, so consider very carefully before doing so. You should consult staff first. They may need to give approval depending on the situation.

The students know about the X-Men and know the membership of the team. They are allowed in the upper levels of the base for appropriate reasons, but lower levels require an X-man accompanying them, and a good reason to be there. Non-mutant teachers (Peter Parker and J'onn are two) are also aware of the team.

The team also has some allies who are aware of them to varying degrees. The Avengers have worked closely with the team and know they are based out of Xavier's, and some have visited the base, but they do not know the identities of all team members.

What other teams are there?
Because of the sheer number of characters coming of age as the game timeline progresses, it can be difficult to include everyone as actives in the team. One way of addressing this is to have active additional mutant teams from canon.

The New Mutants have had a presence and currently have their own group. There has been a black ops team briefly on one occasion. There has also been discussion of forming a more publicly known mutant team. These are all possibilities that can be pursued by interested members.

How does the Blackbird hangar work?
The hangar can exit to the basketball court like in the movie, but that is an emergency exit. Primarily it taxis and then flies down a long tunnel, emerging from the ground far from the school.

What about the Blackbird itself?
The plane is one of the fastest on Earth and equipped with stealth technology to prevent it from being tracked back to the base. It is not usually armed with anything other than the X-Men inside of it.

Where does the X-men's funding come from?
It's a secret.

No really, Charles Xavier is like, defrauding people isn't he?
We are not at liberty to discuss that.
