The man before you is rather tall, standing over six feet tall. If you want to be specific, it's 6'3". Long flowing silver hair touches his upper back and a thick beard grazes his features. Yet....despite this, he looks almost supernaturally youthful. Face and head is perfectly symmetrical, not a flaw to be seen. It's almost...divine.

Physically speaking, he appears to be above peak physical condition. He doesn't appear to have the build of a bodybuilder; He has the physique of an Olympic swimmer who decided to lift weights to get more cut. No scars adorn his body anywhere. Though, curiously, his body is covered in what appears to be linear tribal tattoos that glow when he channels his energy, but they are otherwise invisible to the naked eye.

In terms of clothing, Poseidon is majestic. He wears dark blue (sometimes green) body armor with silver adornments and golden scales. A long flowing cloak hangs from his shoulders and touches the ground. In his right hand is his Trident, the symbol of his power and who he is.

The God of the Seas.

History

Poseidon. Neptune. Earthshaker. Stormbringer. He is the Greek God of the Seas, Storms, Earthquakes, and Horses. He has as many names as there are tides, as many titles as there are winds. Among the 'big three' of the Greek Gods, being the immediate sibling of fellow Gods, Zeus and Hades. Poseidon is the patron God of the entire Atlantean race, and is more commonly known to them as Father Neptune.

But the story goes even deeper than that. Born the second son of the Titan, Cronus, Poseidon joined forces with his brothers, Hades and Zeus, to overthrow the vile monster and take command of Olympus, with Zeus becoming God of the Heavens, Hades becoming God of the Underworld, and Poseidon becoming God of the Seas. Throughout millennia, the Greek Pantheon grew and grew.

It's true, they bickered amongst themselves and were very rarely ever on a unified front...only at the time of the Olympian-Asgardian war did the Gods unite for the bloodly and unmoving conflict. Neither side gained ground for quite some time, thus...a treaty was signed, and thus was a unified alliance established. Poseidon was one of the very first of the Olympians to sign, with Zeus being the last.

But, as time went on and on...the humans began to forget about the Gods. Thus did many of the Olympians, about half, decide to return to Olympus or to their respective domains to leave earth behind. But...he is one of the only Greek Gods who didn't abandon earth for Olympus as there are still more than a few groups of people who still worship him, Playing small roles over the next millennia of human events. Though the High King of the Seas has been dormant for some time...worldwide events have brought him back into light, as more and more gods are becoming revealed to exist, Poseidon rises to the defense and guardianship of the world.

He often now explores the surface of the modern times under the simple name of 'Percy' in honor of one of his most beloved children.

Personality

Poseidon is a very patient, compassionate, and wrathful deity. He cares deeply about life on earth, especially those who still believe in or follow the God of the Seas. He cares for his fellow Olympians, and he's never one to rush into the fray without thinking about it first...unless he's angered. While that anger can take quite a bit to boil over, when it does? Bad news. He becomes unhinged and strikes with utter intent to destroy or ruin.

All in all...despite how harsh he can sometimes be, Poseidon is someone who, above all, is a defender of life and the earth.

Abilities

ALLSPEAK
As an Olympian, Poseidon can speak and be understood in every language on the planet and certain alien languages as well.

AWARENESS
Having senses twice as powerful as those of a human, Poseidon has a good awareness of what surrounds him, The use of magic however can increase his senses to incredible levels, or just give him the information he seeks in a lot of cases. When in or near bodies of water, Poseidon becomes aware of everything that happens in his domain, almost as if water was an extension of his own body. He can, of course, hear all prayers directed at him no matter how far he is from the source. At full power, or when using magic, a minor level of cosmic awareness is not out of reach, even if that is limited to Earth now aday.

FAITH EMPOWERMENT
Olympian's strength are completely reliant on the worship they receive. Though even at their weakest, Olympians are extremely powerful, Poseidon has weakened over the years due to only the Atlanteans and certain groups of people still worshipping him as a God.

GOD OF EARTHQUAKES
Poseidon is also the God of Earthquakes. By striking the ocean floor or by affecting Tectonic plates, Poseidon can create tremors in the ground or even great Earthquakes that can rank up to 10 on the Richter Scale (plot/consent only).

GOD OF SEAS
Poseidon //is// the Sea. As the God of the Seas and almost absolute ruler of the domain, Poseidon has great power over Hydrokinesis. Undisputed and unrefuted in the skill, Poseidon can create massive tsunamis, flood islands, create Maelstroms, and even make water a form. He can create massive sea dragons out of the water or perhaps massive tendrils. He knows every tide, he feels every movement.

Though he's not only proficient with water that's in the ocean. But lakes, water from the air (such as from rain/condensation) or water from other sources such as from homes or even from a water bottle. the water Poseidon can manipulate can be sharp enough to penetrate titanium like it was butter. But it won't cut through substances like Adamantium.

When Poseidon is in the water? He's almost unstoppable.

Almost.

Poseidon can breathe underwater as if a human were breathing air, he can communicate with //all// forms of aquatic life, and...as long as he knows where he's going, he can teleport to anywhere he needs to be almost instantly with about a two minute charge time.

Because Poseidon basically is the sea, Poseidon is able to turn himself into water or make the water into his own image and appear like a Skyscraper in the ocean.

He can also communicate with the marine life in the seas and oceans and lakes etc. via telepathy or by verbal command.

UNLEASH THE KRAKEN! Poseidon is the ruler of all aquatic life both known and unknown that exist under Poseidon's godly domain. The Kraken? His. Leviathan? His again. Great White SHarks? yep. Last surviving Megalodon? Oh yes. If Poseidon deems it? They will come en masse.

GOD OF STORMS
Poseidon is the only God amongst the Olympians who could challenge Zeus himself in this field. Poseidon is less-known by the name of Stormbringer. He can create massive hurricanes and even terrible thunderstorms. He can direct every lightning strike, every gust of wind, every drop of snow. Though unlike others who use this ability to their advantage, Poseidon is only limited to sea-fairing storms. Poseidon's will to manifest in storms is quite strong, and he can make continent-wide thunderstorms at his present peak.

GODLY STRENGTH
Of all the Olympian Gods, Poseidon is among the physically strongest. At present, Poseidon can lift up to 70 tons on land and 100 tons in water. But, if he enhances himself with magic, Poseidon can briefly lift over 100 on land and in sea. He's fully capable of chucking buildings around with ease. With his bare hands, he could break Uru and even Adamantine. Adamantium, Nth metal, and Vibranium is....untested.

HEALING
As an Olympian and in lieu of his immortality, the divine energies that sustain Poseidon allow himself to regenerate and heal at remarkable rates. He cannot regenerate damage that causes him to lose a limb or a vital organ unless magic is involved to help. Cuts heal in a few minutes, serious injuries heal within a few hours and grievous injuries could take days.

IMMORTALITY
As an Olympian, Poseidon is immortal. He doesn't need to eat, sleep, or even drink anything in order to survive and he can't be killed by conventional means. However, he //can// still be killed. He's immune to all non-magic/non-divine illnesses and poisons.

INVULNERABILITY
Poseidon is extremely durable as an Olympian. Bullets ping off him and conventional means of attack don't have much effect. He could trade hands with powerful beings like Superman and stand his ground. He can easily survive the extremely crushing depths of the deepest parts of the oceans with no ill effect or pain.

MAGIC
All Olympians are very natural and powerful magic users. In terms of Poseidon, only Zeus surpasses him in terms of how he wields such energy. To measure Poseidon's abilities with just magic alone on such a scale is almost unnecessary.

He can astrally project himself, teleport to Olympus and Earth, create strong electric currents that he can blast from his hands, he can fly up to 500 mph, create forcefields that could block powerful beings like the Hulk for large amounts of time, increase his physical strength, place and remove curses, bestow power, and heal others (unless they've already died).

He can also shapeshift. He could appear as a falcon...or as a handsome young man. Or a woman. Or a dolphin, or a horse, you get the idea. He can also shapeshift others...//to an extent//. For example, it was Poseidon who made the Atlanteans able to be water-breathers before Atlantis fell beneath the waves. (player consent/plot only)

In the end, Poseidon's magic strength allows him to perform godlike feats with his mystic skill alone and at his strongest? Poseidon could truly shake the foundations of the world.

SUPERHUMAN SPEED

On land, when not enhanced with magic, Poseidon can run about 40 miles per hour in lieu of his grand strength. If magic is applied, his speed could drastically increase. His reflexes are increased as well, allowing him to react at truly superhuman speeds. When not enhanced with magic, he could dodge or grab arrows, when magic comes into play dodging or catching bullets would definitely become possible too.

Skills

COMBAT
Poseidon is a very good hand-to-hand combatant, knowing every Greek martial art, though he's the best at wrestling and spear fighting.

DIPLOMAT
Poseidon is extremely good at //talking// to people and especially cooling nerves. Do you have any idea how many times Poseidon has prevented the Olympian gods from killing each other? Too many. and they have some of the fiercest tempers and dysfunctional behaviors of all. He could easily be an ambassador.

HORSEMANSHIP
Poseidon is also considered to be the Horse Lord. As such, he can ride a horse with supernatural expertise.

KNOWLEDGE
Poseidon is the god of seas, Stormbringer, lord of horses and bringer of earthquakes, so he is definitely knowledgable about everything concerning said topics. His main area of expertise, however, are oceans and everything correlated to them. From currents, to marine geography, marine biology, seafaring vessels and how to operate them, Poseidon is quite an expert on those topics.

LEADERSHIP
For a long time, Poseidon was the King of the Atlanteans before he stepped away to 'watch his child grow'. As such, not only has Poseidon long been a leader of men, he's charismatic and easily-liked almost wherever he is. He's led armies into battle in human guises and commands almost every aquatic creature in the world.

SWIMMING

Poseidon is the fastest swimmer in the history of the world and //still// is! In terms of speed, his maximum limit is Mach 5.

Resources

ATLANTIS
All known Atlantean Kingdoms revere Poseidon as their patron deity and many Atlanteans citizens worship and pray to him as god of all oceans. As such, if he were to approach his people? His devout followers would listen and obey.

EMPLOYMENT
Presently, under Poseidon's human guise as 'Percy', he serves as a Harbormaster. It doesn't pay a grand salary, but it lets him afford luxuries here and there and to help him fit in.

OLYMPUS
Poseidon is a prominent and very respected Olympian. If he should need it, he could call for aid from the other Olympians and very few of them would think about saying no and even fewer would actually deny the God of the Sea. Nonetheless, it's a safe place Poseidon could retreat to if he was ever in danger....because he has a palace there.

TRIDENT OF NEPTUNE

This is //the// original, defining Trident of Poseidon. This three-pronged spear is made out of Poseidon's own godly energies, having been forged by the very first cyclops of mythos legend. The Trident is made out of the nigh-unbreakable metal, Adamantine and is used as a focus for Poseidon's incredible might. It's used to be more precise in Poseidon's powers and to serve as his main martial weapon of choice as well. While anyone can wield this weapon, as he's lent it to heroes such as Namor in the past, if his trident is lost, Poseidon can summon it back to him at any moment.

Weaknesses

ATLANTEANS
Atlanteans are Poseidon's pride and joy. He's carefully led them through many an age, even when he wasn't the one on the thrones. Regardless, should anything threaten the survivability of the Atlanteans as a species or as kingdoms? the perpetrator will make an immediate enemy of Poseidon, who has and will quite literally drop everything he's presently doing to fight for his creation.

FAITH WEAKENING
Without worshippers, Poseidon will become weaker and weaker. While he'll still be quite powerful, he'll be much easier to take down as his divine energies dwindle little by little. For example, with worshippers Poseidon can lift 70 tons on land. without worshippers, he can lift 30-40, etc.

HIND'S BLOOD
The Golden Hind. the blood of this magical creature is One of the few things that can kill Poseidon. The Blood of the Golden Hind is extremely lethal to Olympians and will render Poseidon naturally defenseless if it's used against him. bad news.

MAGIC
Magic completely bypasses Poseidon's Invulnerability and is one of the main forms of attack that can harm and kill him.

WORD IS BOND
No matter what it is, if Poseidon gives his word, he is blood-bound and magic-bound to follow through with it. He cannot (or at least he doesn't want to) break his promises as honor dictates. It's gotten him into many-a trouble.

WRATH

While it will take him a while to get there, much like his brothers, Poseidon has a terrifying wrath that is not easy to douse when he's provoked. Cities have been obliterated in the past from Poseidon's fury. It leads him to act rashly and give his enemies an advantage over him.
