A wild child at heart, Samantha is most often seen in the company of Lara Croft, a dear friend since college. It might be rare to spot a Samantha in the wild without a video camera in front of her face. But once you get past the camera, she's easygoing and more fun than a barrel of kittens. Description

At 5'5" and 110 pounds, Samantha doesn't look like much of a powerhouse. What she DOES have is her looks, which she owes to her heritage. The daughter of a Japanese Media Mogul and a Portugese model, she has the best traits of both worlds. Her build is a balance of petite and athletic, and she certainly knows how to dress to accentuate it. Her clothes are often designer brands, and one-of-a-kind outfits tailored just to her. She enjoys fitted and fluttery pieces that accentuate all the right curves. Her ebony black hair is just a bit longer than shoulder length, and falls in careless waves, framing a decidedly feminine face with lightly angular features and full lips. She has the an airy spirit, and it shows in her demeanour. Life is an adventure, and she's up for the ride.

History

Make no mistake, Samantha Nishimura is a wild child at heart. She was born to a father who was a Japanese media mogul, and a mother who was a Portugese model. The result was a life lived between continents and countries, constantly changing schools, and often acting out and getting kicked out of said schools. When she finally settled down (at least a little) she attended UCL, majoring in filmography and specializing in documentary.

This is where Samantha met Lara Croft. Determined to get Lara out of the libraries and show her a slice of life, she dragged Lara out to night clubs and shopping trips. Despite being polar opposites, the two became fast friends, and that friendship endures to current day.

It was after a shipwreck on a mysterious island, that Samantha first began to taste the true mystery and mysticism of Lara's expeditions. Falling victim to a strange ritual, Samantha became one body, and two souls. One, of course, is her normal, bubbly, picture-taking, documentary-filming self. The other is darker. One with powers. One who does not always necessarily choose the right side of battle.

Now, Samantha continues to travel with Lara, and document her travels and expeditions. The two are still fast friends. But when danger rears its head and the chips are down, Samantha can call upon the spirit within her to take control of the situation. As long as Samantha can control the spirit itself.

A wild child at heart, Samantha has learned to tame her ways, at least to the extent that she doesn't become a complete liability on expeditions. You can't get in trouble if you're just working on your tan, right? But she also serves as a documentarian for the expeditions of her best friend Lara Croft. Because you can never be too careful when you want to make sure that the woman at the helm gets the credit she's due.

Samantha has the ability to call forth a spirit inside her that can take control of the weather, creating everything from lightning, to fog, to storms. She cannot create destructive forces as powerful as major tornadoes, cyclones or hurricanes, but tornadoes up to EF-2, Hailstorms, and blizzards are no problem. She does need to be able to focus in order to create stronger phenomena, however.

I'm On A Boat

Owing to her travels with Lara, Samantha is an experienced sailor, and knows her way around a ship. She can do just about anything that a crew member could do, which comes in handy when like...the crew vanishes mysteriously while onboard. And stuff.

Samantha is financially set for life, thanks to Mommy and Daddy. She has never wanted for anything, and she likely never will. Except maybe a best friend who doesn't drag her into the belly of the beast at all hours of the night.

One body, two souls. Although Samantha can usually keep control of the rogue evil spirit within her, there are times when it becomes too powerful to control. She can become a liability - A risk to her friends and allies.

High an' Lonesam

When Samantha feels she is a danger to Lara or other allies, she can tend to become withdrawn, shutting them out for their own safety. During these times, she has a tendency to turn to self-medication, which can perpetuate the problem even further.
