Profile

Stick is a man of mystery, having trained two of the world's most prominent fighters, and others. He runs The Chaste, a group directly opposed to the sinister Hand.

Stick has returned to New York after hearing that one of his former pupils has strayed from the path. And he will be sure to rectify the situation.

Stick is a relatively tall man with white hair. He normally wears muted colors, if not black to hide in the night time. Aside from a cane when he is in public, there isn't much else to him. He likes to hide in plain sight, and maintaining an inconspicuous appearance is paramount to this.

History

The man known as Stick was truly born during a time when he was imprisoned, The Chaste had trained him for ten years. Over the span of decades, he worked with The Chaste to fight the Hand at their plots. It wasn't until he was significantly older that he had decides to work on training a new generation of soldiers in The Chaste's ever spanning war against The Hand.

He had recruited Elektra Nachios from a young age to become the perfect soldier for them. Over time, he had not only respected her tenacity, but also chastised her for her improper technique concerning fighting. Over time, he had managed to find Elektra a place to live with the Nachios family.

A number of years later, Stick was called upon by the Sisters of the Saint Agnes Orphanage to help a young boy by the name of Matt Murdock adjust to the life of a blind person. Citing that Stick had a way with kids. While this was true, Stick had glimpsed some of himself in the young Matt Murdock, and taught him how to see without the use of his eyes as Stick was able to. Devoting enough time to the young Matt that the former soon looked up to Stick like a surrogate father. This was unacceptable in Stick's eyes, and he cut all ties to Matt.

After leaving Matt, having taught him what Stick believed to be all he could, Stick had ventured to Japan, picking up the cause against the Yakuza and the Hand as a representative of The Chaste. It was years until he had heard that an old pupil of his had strayed far from the path he had set them on that he felt called back to New Yark.

Stick is a no nonsense man. When Matt Murdock was a boy, he gave up teaching the young boy because he could already see that Matt had been looking for a father, and Stick needed a soldier. He has walked a long road in this life, and he is none too afraid to let someone know what his two cents are. His demeanor can sometimes be cruel, but he knows he cannot be the loving type. He has to be a consummate leader.

ENHANCED SENSES
Stick has more keen senses than many other humans. He is able to ascertain ingredients in composed food, down to the smallest detail. He is able to deduce his surroundings by sound alone, up to miles away. His sense of smell can rival that of a bloodhound.

MEDITATION

With the use of concentration and incense, Stick is able to heal faster than most humans, he is also able to help others using these incenses if he should want to accelerate their healing.

MARTIAL ARTS
Stick has devoted his life to various fighting styles, including: Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Northern Shaolin Kung-Fu. He is considered a master of these arts.

PEAK CONDITIONING
Being a man of 90, Stick has the physique of someone in their late 50's. He is able to keep up with his former pupils easily, but he is not the same man he was 40 years ago.

STREETWISE
Stick's method of hiding in plain sight means that he has as little traces to the 'grid' as possible. He only works in cash, he tries to not be recognized as who he is. He's a scrapper, even without his abilities, he would be an artful dodger type.

SWORDSMAN
Spending years in the Far East, Stick became adept at using a katana. He uses this to his advantage when mixed with his acute senses.

WEAPONS MASTER

Stick is adept in using various weapons, including eskrima, the bo staff, and nunchaku. He is also a keen shot with a bow and arrow. Firearms are not his style due to their non stealth qualities.

THE CHASTE

Stick is the leader of The Chaste: an organization diametrically opposed to that of The Hand. He is unforgiving in his quest to kill The Hand and what it stands for in this world. He has many disciples willing to fight for him and even die for his cause. The organization has access to a network of weaponry and soldiers ready, willing, and prepared to fight.

Weaknesses

BLINDNESS
Stick is blind by birth. This presents a bit of a weakness due to the fact that he has never seen anything. Even with his 'radar sense' he has never truly seen anything. If he was captured, he wouldn't be able to tell if it was day or night. There are things he just doesn't know about.

ENEMIES
The Hand would be his most largest enemy. The Chaste and The Hand are the most bitter of enemies. Considering Stick's status as leader of The Chaste, Stick is most likely enemy number one to them. This places a big target on his back to be attacked or assassination attempts to happen against him.

OLD AGE
Despite Stick's best efforts. He is still an old man. While he can certainly match most Warriors younger than him, when the fight is over, he must meditate and recover for a time before he can fight again at that level.

TEMPER

His attitude has often worked against him, especially when his pupils are concerned. He pushed Matt away because of his demeanor.
