|Profile=Wolverine is known as "the best there is at what he does", and what he does is not pretty. Logan is an old warrior in a younger man's body. He is known around the world as an X-Man and an Avenger. Loyal to his friends and deadly to his enemies, he is nearly unstoppable when he sets his mind to something. Best thing about Logan? He's Canadian.

|Profile=As he likes to say, he's the best there is at what he does, but what he does best isn't very nice. Logan is a mutant with an extraordinary long life span. He has fought in many wars, was a member of the Weapon Plus program, and he is a hero. Meanwhile, the Wolverine is a legend. His story has been told around the campfires. The earliest of these dates back to early 20th century British Columbia. Since then, his name has popped up around the globe. No one knows for sure how much of it is true, but if even a tenth is, he's one scary son of a bitch.

Logan is currently wearing a brown leather jacket, and worn blue jeans. His unique denim shirt underneath his jacket barely conceals his rippling muscles. On his head is a dark brown cowboy hat, which only partial hides his face and hair. The dark, worn cowboy boots on his feet complement the unique outfit, as he regards you with a predatory expression, sizing you up.

Born James Howlett in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada sometime between 1882 and 1885 the illegitimate son of Elizabeth Howlett (married to John Howlett, owner of a large estate) and the Howletts' grounds-keeper, Thomas Logan. Raised on the Howlett Estate by John Howlett Sr and a caretaker by the name of Rose O'Hara, James witnessed the murder of John Howlett senior by Thomas Logan as he shot him in the head in a drunken rage. This shock caused James to finally manifest his mutant abilities. James "popped" his claws and killed Thomas Logan in a rage induced frenzy and scarred his childhood friend, Dog's, face with his claws. James fled to the Yukon and British Columbia.
This man stands 188 centimetres tall and likely weighs around 88 kilograms. His ancestry is obviously European, but he has a nice tan going on, and probably spends a large part of his time in the great outdoors. His eyes are blue, and his thick, wavy, hair is black. He sports a five o'clock shadow, even in the morning. He's not unhandsome, but he is far from pretty. His face is weathered, and upon closer inspection, it is devoid of all facial scaring. Underneath the grit and the stubble, his face is both smooth and youthful, which contrasts his manner. He carries himself as if nothing matters to him. He has a sort of "this is me, deal" kind of bearing.<br>

He is currently wearing a pair of rugged denim blue jeans, that fit well across the powerful muscles of his legs. The jeans appear to be fairly old, as the cuffs are frayed, sporting white threads. They are held up on his waist by a narrow brown leather belt with a burnished bronze buckle. Tucked into the pants, the man wears a heavy-duty flannel over-shirt, with a yellow and black chequered design. The shirt is roomier than the jeans, if no less successful in hiding his impressive musculature. The sleeves of the over shirt are left unbuttoned and rolled halfway up his forearms, and a white crew neck t-shirt can be glimpsed under the neckline of the garment. The man's large feet are encased in pair of brown, heavy-duty work boots, scuffed about the toes and sides, and sporting a little mud along the soles. He presents the image of someone who may have just come in from working outside.<br>

In 1914, Logan joined the Canadian Army as a soldier. Logan was assigned to the Devil's Brigade, a Canadian military unit. After the war, Logan went to Madripor under his new alias "Patch", and had Seraph tutor him in becoming a better assassin. Returning to China, Logan then sought out Ogun, who tutored him for many years. In 1937, Logan spent two years learning espionage from Taras Romanov while giving hand-to-hand combat lessons to Natasha Romanoff.

In 1939 Logan again found himself serving in the Canadian Army during World War II in the Devil's Brigade. It appeared that, whenever Logan suffered traumatic memories, his healing factor clouded his memories, making all previous memories vague or unclear. In the summer of 1941, Logan teamed-up with Captain America and later Natasha Romanoff in a mission to sabotage the Hand. Logan also worked with Captain America, Bucky and Sgt Nick Fury.

He is currently wearing a sleeveless form-fitting black outfit made of some sort of stretchable fabric, like spandex, but without the sheen. The clothing actually seems to defect light, as if it just rolls right off his body. Further down, he has a red compartmentalised belt, which is the only colour found in this costume. The legs are tucked into black knee-high boots. He wears short gloves around his wrists that contain three silver semi-cylinders each, near the knuckles. Over his left eye, he wears a black eye patch. Besides the area around his head and neck, his only visible skin is from shoulders to wrists.<br>

In the 60s and 70s, Logan was a member of Team X and the Weapon X program. As a member of the Black Ops squad run by the CIA (Team X), Logan worked with other superhumans, namely Sabretooth, Silver Fox, Maverick, Kestrel and Mastadon. In 1972 Logan joined the Canadian Defense Department K with ties to Weapon X. While a part of that program , Logan worked with Nick Fury, Carol Danvers, and Richard and Mary Parker. The Weapon X program experimented on Logan - giving him his adamantium skeleton. Logan broke free of his conditioning, and fled into the wilderness where he was discovered by Heather and James Hudson, who nursed him back to health.

Over the years Logan became a founding member of Alpha Flight, has battled the Leader allied with Hercules and Karkas and then fought the Hulk and Wendigo. After that, Logan was called upon by Professor X to attempt a rescue of the original X-Men captured by Krakoa and has been a stalwart member of the team ever since. In recent history, Logan has been a stand in member of the Fantastic Four, a member of the Avengers, and even an Agent of SHIELD.

|Personality=Logan is not a complicated man. Logan is the best there is at what he does. And what he does is never pretty. Considering all that he has been through, Logan is, deep down, a good person. He acknowledges that this gets him into a world of trouble sometimes, but he is willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good and for others he feels worthy of saving. Logan has spent most of his life fighting and killing, and he knows that he has a monster caged up inside him. It is this monster that he fights against, knowing that the monster inside of him will hurt and kill people, no matter the provocation. That is why he tends to be a loner, but it is his inherent kindness and good spirit that always brings him back to the table to help others. Logan also appreciates the finer things in life. Whether it is a fine cigar, a great micro brew, or a long motorcycle through the Great Canadian Wilderness, Logan appreciates life. That is what keeps him on the side of good.

<br><br>
Logan is a warrior, a guardian, a wounded knight, a champion of the weak and downtrodden. Logan's key goal in life is the help those that are being hurt, abused, taken advantage of, or need protecting. As a member of the X-Men, his reason for being was to help mutants and protect the public from evil mutants. Logan also is there to protect young mutants that cannot protect themselves, such as those that are at the Jean Grey School. As a member of the Avengers, he was there to help all of Earth's people, protecting them from "big as* threats". Logan also wants to keep his head together, to not be used by others to do evil, and to do his best to do well by "Chuck" for "believing in him".
<br>
Logan has a wild, untamed personality. He lives life to its fullest, enjoying his Cuban cigars, Canadian beer, gambling, fighting, women, you name it, and he enjoys it. He is a product of his environment. He started working in the mines when he was just thirteen years old. He became a man in the frontier.<br>
<br>
He does not shy away from trouble. He actively seeks it out. When he's in the mood for a card game, he usually starts by looking for the worst people he can find. He has no problem socialising with lowlifes because they're the most fun. There's no point in doing it if there isn't a chance to get hurt.<br>
<br>
There is a wild and savage animal lurking just beneath the surface. When he gives in to that animal, he is capable of terrible things. But over time, he has recognised this part of him, and made efforts to subdue it. He has buried it in meditation and the adoption of Bushido. He lives by the warrior's code.<br>
<br>
He is an honourable man. He has a sense of justice. It has become as much a part of him as the adamantium that coats his very bones. It is his fondest wish that he could become a samurai. But that will never be. He is too rash, too impatient, and too angry. He is a failed samurai, a ronin, destined to roam.<br>
<br>
He must travel the world in search of a purpose. Occasionally, he will find one, and he will know happiness for a time. But such things are fleeting. They never last. Eventually, all things must wither and die, but he remains.<br>
<br>
He is a rock, unflinching, and unchanging. The world may remake itself around him, but he will always be the rock. He will always be alone. And yet, in spite of himself, the rough exterior he presents, he has the soul of a poet.<br>
<br>
He may be a loner, destined to walk the Earth forever, or until his regenerative healing factor wears out, but he has left his mark in this world. He has taken in students, imparting his knowledge and wisdom. He cares about people. He may not be able to move the river, but he can pick out some things that drift along the water, helping them to right their course.<br>

<br><br>
<br>
Sometime in the 1820's, Elizabeth Howlett (nee Hudson) began a torrid affair with Thomas Logan, the groundskeeper for her husband's estate. This infidelity gave birth to a son, James, who was passed off as the son of John Howlett, Sr. After the death of his elder brother John Jr., the young James became the sole heir to the Howlett's considerable estate in what was then called the North-Western Territory. Today, it is known as the Canadian province of Alberta.<br>
<br>
A frail boy from the start, James suffered from a number of allergies, and was often bedridden. His only friends were Rose O'Hara, an Irish girl, and Dog, Thomas Logan's legitimate son, and secretly half-brother to James. As the three of them matured, Dog became infatuated with Rose, but she did not reciprocate. This led to the expulsion of Dog and his father from the estate.<br>
<br>
Later that night, Thomas came back for Elizabeth, and he brought a shotgun. He murdered John Sr. in cold blood, and James retaliated. It was the first time that James' claws had emerged. In short order, he killed Thomas and scarred Dog's face. Elizabeth banished him, and she took her own life shortly thereafter. James and Rose went on the run, as Dog had reported them to the authorities and James' grandfather.<br>
<br>
James and Rose first fled to what is now the Yukon, before finally settling in what would eventually become British Columbia. James found work in a stone quarry. He quickly grew to resemble Thomas in build and stature, even taking his name, though that was more out of necessity than anything else. Rose O'Hara and James Howlett were still being hunted by his grandfather's men, but nobody cared about "Rose Logan" and her cousin, "James Logan".<br>
<br>
While Rose kept her given name, James adopted "Logan" in most matters. He became popular in the quarry for his hard work and strong ethics. Smitty, the foreman, even became a surrogate father to him. But the feeling was not shared by all. Cookie Malone, Smitty's former favourite, took an immediate dislike to him. Everything he did, every step he took to discredit Logan, ultimately backfired. He sabotaged the mine. Logan survived and saved their co-workers. Cookie cut Rose and Logan's rations, so Logan hunted in the wild, giving whatever Rose and he didn't need to his co-workers, and they loved him for it.<br>
<br>
When Cookie challenged Logan to a cage match, Logan fought with the ferocity and savagery of a wild animal. It was there that he earned the nickname that has stayed with him to this day: Wolverine. As Logan had been growing into a man under Smitty's tutelage, so too had Rose become a woman. Logan had feelings for her, but he could not act on them without sacrificing the life they had built as "cousins". Much to Logan's dismay, Rose ended up marrying Smitty, who in the end had Logan's begrudged blessing. Smitty made Rose happy.<br>
<br>
During this time, Logan's grandfather, in law if not in blood, asked Dog to find Rose and his "grandson". And where the authorities had failed, Dog succeeded. Only, not as he had hoped. Dog found Logan, and planned to kill him out of revenge, but Logan proved too strong. As Logan was about to deliver the killing blow, Rose rushed to Dog's side, and was accidentally impaled by Logan's claws. Having been seen using his claws in the middle of the town's street, and killing his first love, Logan fled, disappearing into the wild.<br>

<br><br>
Logan has been a soldier, a fighter and a warrior since the very early stages of his life. From a cage fighter in Canada to a Canadian Army solider in WWI and WWII, to a trained assassin. Logan has been a honorable samurai and a Cold War spy and saboteur. He has been a freedom fighter, an underworld boss in Madripor, to a SHIELD agent and revolutionary. Logan has been a super hero - an X-Man and an Avenger, a Defender and a member of the FF. Logan has also been the villain in the story, killing innocents and not-so innocent. Through it all, he is a warrior with a willpower to rival the strongest in the world. He is a fighter, and never gives up. Logan would sacrifice everything for the cause, and this gets him through the good days, and the bad.<br><br>Logan has been trained as a samurai. He has married a Japanese woman and been given the greatest gift a noble Japanese House could give... the 800 year old Clan Yashida Masamune sword as the families' Samurai. Although Logan has his faults, he has always tried to uphold a personal code of honor and ethics. When not consumed by rage, he always tries to fight with honor. Logan will protect the just, the innocent and the weak. He will fight the unjust, evil, and the corrupt. That isn't to say he won't fight dirty when he needs to.<br><br>Logan has been through over a hundred years of soul wrenching agony and pain. Sometimes, this pain is best dealt with on his own. Then, Logan leaves, grabs his gear, jumps on a motorcycle, and heads home. North. On the open road. Logan also knows that he may be used against those he loves and fears losing control. This loss of control has happened before, and people he cared about died on his claws. One of the few things that scare him is hurting someone he cares about. Sometimes, he just gets the wanderlust where he needs to be in the wild, howling at the moon.

Strangely enough, a lot of what makes him who he is also makes him an amazingly capable leader. Logan can be difficult, gruff, grumpy, irreverent, aloof, and mean tempered. Logan can also be wise, giving, caring, intelligent, observant and, charismatic. Logan has been a soldier, a warrior, a diplomat (seriously), a samurai, head of a Clan, a Captain in the C.A.F, head of a Black Ops Team, a leader of men/supermen, a teacher and a mentor! Logan has the respect and admiration of many, mutants, regular people and heroes.
|Abilities=<span style="color:#00CED1">'''ACUTE SENSES'''</span>
<br>
<br>
Logan has a superhumanly acute set of senses, allowing him to be able track someone by smell, for example. He can even distinguish a person by their scent, allowing him to see through all disguises, including shape shifter's disguises, depending on how good the shape shifter's power is. For example, he has been fooled by Mystique in the past. His sense of hearing is also superhumanly acute, allowing him to hear extremely well. Logan has an above average sense of sight. These levels are not to such a point that he is extremely susceptible to attacks against them, but he is slightly more susceptible to those attacks than an average person. Logan's sense of hearing is also heightened as well, and he is able to pick up high and low frequencies over a much longer range, isolating positions and type of sounds within range.

And there he lived in a self-imposed exile. Was it a matter of months or years, who can say? During his time as mountain man, he met and fell in love with a Blackfoot woman. They built a cabin together, and might have lived happily ever after. But fate had other plans. On Logan's birthday, a man attacked, raped, and left his love for dead. Logan tracked the man down and fought, losing. The man did not take Logan's life. He was far crueller. He had already taken the only thing in the world that still mattered to Logan. But now his love was replaced with pain. He was left him with nothing but pain.<br>
<br>
When the Great War broke out in Europe, Logan was among the 600,000 Canadian volunteers. He served dutifully, and he was a good soldier. But his commanding officer was scum. He would be sentenced to death by firing squad for a long list of crimes. After that, Logan fought in the Second Battle of Ypres. Six years later, Logan found himself blindfolded, tied to a post, and waiting for his own firing squad. But his was in Mexico. He heard a woman's voice call out to him, asking if he was a murderer. He replied, "... worse, a horse thief".<br>
<br>
He survived, freed himself of the now bullet ridden ropes, and dispatched his would be executioners. It was only then that he discovered the woman had somehow slipped free of her own ropes, and was blue! She asked him how he survived, and he smiled, "I didn't". Together, they travelled to Kansas City, where she wanted him to meet some friends of hers. But when she started talking about a bank robbery, he informed the authorities of her plans.<br>
<br>
A few years after Black Tuesday, which was the Stock Market Crash of 1929, Logan found himself in the Principality of Madripoor, where he first began using the alias of Patch. There, he learned to become an assassin. This marked the start of his globetrotting. He would travel to Japan, studying under a Master, before heading west, where he would fight in the Spanish Civil War.<br>
<br>
When Canada declared war on Germany, he returned to the Devil's Brigade. During the course of the war, he would fight alongside some true heroes, legends really. Sometime after the war, Logan returned to Japan, where he would find the first true peace in some time. He married a Japanese woman.<br>

But she was murdered and he was forced to leave. He had been banned from the village for accidentally killing a villager. From there, Logan returned home, returned to Canada, where he became a freelance intelligence agent. Embracing his nickname, he took Wolverine as his codename while working for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Security Service (now known as the Canadian Security Intelligence Service), and later for America's Central Intelligence Agency.<br>
<br>
In the 1960s, Logan became part of the Weapon Plus program, and was assigned to Team X. Before this, he had compartmentalised his memories, repressing the pain and anguish he had endured over the past several decades. But the Weapon Plus program took this to all new levels. Because of them, he can't be sure of any memory he has from before he signed up. He was given an experimental combination of drugs, telepathy, staged scenarios, and a host of other psychological conditioning. He became the Wolverine, a soldier, and nothing more. He forgot who he was, but he never stopped acting like he was. They may have made him into a killer, but he never stopped being a good person.<br>
<br>
<br>
Logan's skeleton has been laced with adamantium, the hardest substance known to man, and virtually unbreakable. As a result of this, Wolverine's bones are virtually unbreakable. Therefore, he can withstand an incredible amount of punishment. This combined with his regeneration powers, makes him virtually unstoppable. Even with this, Wolverine can still be hurt. He has skin, blood, vital organs, and nerves like a normal human, and with enough damage, these senses can be overwhealmed, causing unconsciousness, and possibly death. He can heal severe damage to his body, including vital organs, it just takes a long time. His body can absorb the impacts from blunt damage easily, but it is harder for his body to absorb energy and other attacks like it. His skeleton is also made of metal, and therefore, vulnerable to magnetic attacks.
He travelled the globe with Team X, performing black operations, and remembering none of them. Because he would regain his memories from time to time, they had to be suppressed, distorted, and replaced with new ones. As a result, he doesn't know which memories are genuine, and which ones were implanted. H

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''ANIMAL EMPATHY'''</span>
<br>
<br>
Logan has an uncanny empathic ability with mammalian carnivores, allowing him to feel their emotions, and send his emotions to them, effectively communicating with them. This can warn them off, or let him know of others in the vicinity. Logan is particularly fond of wolves, and he always asserts himself as an Alpha male with little to no challenge from the other alpha in the pack.
Logan's sense of sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch are finely honed instruments. He can see farther than is possible by an ordinary human unassisted by technology. He can see in the dark without needing time to adjust his eyes, and it mimics the effects of night vision goggles. He is able to recognise people and other objects by scent alone. He can differentiate these smells in a crowded room. He can hear noises from adjacent rooms, and distinguish them.<br>
<br>
He knows the hum of a refrigerator, the noise of a curling iron, the sound of a gun being cocked: he knows them all. He can instantly tell the contents of a drink by the taste of it. He can pick out ingredients if he's had them before and figure out how to make it given a large enough sample. And he knows the tactile feel of an object. He knows its tensile strength, malleability, and density. He knows which parts of a car should be hot after it's been running for several hours. He knows what different animal hides feel like when made into cloth, and he knows blends. All of his senses are superhumanly acute, and he uses them to hunt or track.<br>

Logan has three, foot-long claws on the end of each of his forearms. These claws are connected to his skeleton and his nervous system. Normally they remain beneath his skin and muscle of his forearms, however, under Wolverine's mental command, one, two, or all three of the claws can shoot out of his forearm just beneath his knuckles. These claws have been laced with adamantium, the hardest substance known to man, and virtually unbreakable. They are also razor sharp, able to cut virtually anything. However, it should be noted, that although his claws can virtually cut through anything, they also require the strength to be able to penetrate through those substances. Therefore, it would be nearly impossible, for example, to cut through a wall made of adamantium that was a few inches thick, or do more than moderately scratch the Hulk (unless he was creative in the use of his.
Logan may carry around 47.6 kg of extra weight inside his body, but it's distributed evenly throughout, which has allowed him to maintain his agility, balance, and coordination. It took a little bit of getting used to, but he's had decades to hone it. Because of his regenerative healing factor, his tendons and other internal organs function at their physical peak, and when combined with his other superhuman abilities, allows him to dodge bullets, jump great distances, bend, twist, contort, or perform similar agile feats.<br>

Logan has an increased level of strength, because of his enhanced regeneration and mutant abilities, but also because he has spent over 40 years carrying around an extra 100+ lbs of adamantium in his body. His physique is similar to an Olympic-calibre body builder and weight lifter. This allows him to lift approximately 900+ lbs, or just under 1 ton.
Logan's characteristic claws are actually part of his natural physiology, with a musculature system to govern their use. They are exceedingly sharp, made from bone, and are now laced with adamantium, just like the rest of his skeletal structure. His six adamantium laced bone claws, three on each wrist, measure 0.048 cm by 2.16 cm by 31.8 cm. When his muscles trigger their release, they tear slits in his hands, which are painful, though over decades of use, Logan has become accustomed to that pain. The slits immediately heal around the claws thanks to his regenerative healing factor, leaving no scar, and no blood. The act of drawing, or drawing and then retracting them, happens in an instant, a quick draw if you will, acting similar to a spring loaded weapon.<br>

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''REGENERATION'''</span>
<br>
<br>
Even with his abilities taxed in recent history, Logan still recovers with great speed after receiving an injury to his body. He has the power to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his cellular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary person. This also makes him immune to poisons and most drugs, including alcohol. It is virtually impossible for Logan to get drunk, for example. This also provides him with far greater endurance than normal. As a side effect of his Regeneration, Logan's lifespan has also been increased, allowing him to live far longer than a normal human. Logan's age is unknown, but it is at least 130 to 140 years. He can heal minor cuts and bruises nearly instantly. Fractured/broken bones in minutes. Crushed bones in a few hours. Serious gunshot wounds (not in vital body areas) inside an hour. Lost limbs inside a few days. Serious injuries (i.e. life threatening) in under a week.
Logan is a heavy drinker. As strange as it sounds, he enjoys beer for the taste. But the intoxicating effects do not overcome him as easily as they do ordinary people. His immune system, supported by his healing factor, affords him virtual immunity to all poisons and toxins. He is difficult to sedate, intoxicate, poison, drug, tranquillise, or induce other chemical effects.<br>

Logan has lived a very long time, has seen things people could only imagine in their worst nightmares, and crawled his way through blood, a nuclear explosion, death, plagues, and true evil. This all with heightened senses that pick up even the smallest minutae of detail. This has steeled his mind and his strength of will to near superhuman levels. Logan can remain focused and on target evn in the most gruelling distractions imiaginable. If he ever gets pushed past his breaking point, than that is when his berserker rage takes over.
For a supercentenarian, Logan is in remarkable physical condition. He's gruff and unkempt, making it hard to tie down his exact age, but he looks no younger than 31, and no older than 47. And it's all thanks to that regenerative healing factor of his. Physically, he is in the prime of life.<br>

Logan's background includes intense training and has decades of service in the Canadian military and Team X, Black Ops teams, SHIELD, CIA and Canadian Secret Service, including espionage operations, assassination, wetworks, and stealth. He is a suberb tactician, and is skilled in the use of espionage and assassination, including stealth and the tools involved in high tech espionage of today. He has been trained in the art of Ninjitsu, and can also use the tools of that trade as well.
Logan does not get sick. Long ago, his body fought off most known diseases, and he is now immune to their effects. When a new disease is introduced, which is exceedingly rare given his globetrotting, it is quickly fought off. It depends on how virulent the disease is. His blood could probably be used to create a cure for all known human diseases. But it would come at a cost. He has thought about this and the world is better off with life being short. At a certain point, you stop living. You exist, but you've lost something.<br>

<span style="color:#00CED1">'''GAMBLER'''</span>

Logan has a knack for getting himself into trouble when it comes to gambling. He knows enough to make himself dangerous. Logan knows dozens of games, including card games like poker and blackjack, chess, billiards and pool, and many others. Using his skills, he can be quite skillful, especially if he needs a quick buck. This does sometime lead to rather rough bar brawls as well.
A side effect of having an adamantium laced skeleton is that the subject becomes incredibly durable. Blunt force trauma is often redistributed from the source and diffuses inside him. Hitting him in the chest is like hitting a brick. By itself, it can be smashed. As part of a wall, it becomes much harder. Even before he gained the adamantium, his skeleton was unusually thick and healthy, thanks to the regenerative healing factor. He's tough.<br>

<br><br>
<br><br>
<span style="color:#00CED1">'''HANDYMAN'''</span>

<br>
Logan has spent many years on his own, or trying to etch out a living by taking odd jobs here and there. Due to these small jobs, Logan is a jack of all trades when it comes to mechanical work, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, farming, auto repair, engines, including everything from lawn mowers, to choppers and airplanes. If there is an odd job or quick repair that needs to be done, Logan can do it.
Logan has immense regenerative properties, which have only gotten better with age. Muscles are built by breaking down, letting it heal, breaking it down again, and it comes back stronger than before. His regenerative healing factor works the same way. He has been shot, sliced, blown up, thrown out of moving vehicles, thrown through windows, thrown out of planes, and thrown just about anything way you could think of.<br>
<br>
His healing factor has closed off damaged portions of his psyche after horrific events and shocks to his mind, repairing it as best it could. But the mind is a tricky thing. His healing factor makes it so he can function, but it has caused him pain by removing some memories from his consciousness.<br>
<br>
His healing factor works in proportion to his injuries. And it has increased exponentially. Just a few decades ago, it took him weeks to recover from when his torso was sliced open. But since then, he has recovered from far more severe injuries in significantly less time. His healing factor can reconnect tissue, replenish his blood, restore damaged organs, and any other ailment you might think of. Severe damage will cause him to enter a catatonic state until his body can replenish itself. <br>

Determined doesn't even begin to cover the Wolverine. Those who wrong him or his friends can rest assured that there is nowhere they can go where he won't find them. He never gives up and never surrenders. He fights on to the bitter end; it's what he does. Some are stronger than him, some are faster, a lot are bigger, but few can match his iron will. It's like the old joke, you cannot defeat him; you can only kill him. And he's hard to kill. In a fight, he will push onward, through the pain. If you stick a sword into his knee, bend it so he can't pull or cut it out with his claws, and he'll still limp for kilometres, days if he has to. He will persevere. He is the Wolverine.<br>

<br>
Logan's mind is incredibly difficult to mess with. It can and has been done, but it is no easy feat. With the right combination of drugs - a huge amount are needed - props, and telepathy, the Weapon Plus program was able to create a number of false memories, often largely based on his true past experiences. Because of his regenerative healing factor, and what was done to him, his mind no longer functions as normally. It can be very confusing for telepaths.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#8a14ff">'''Reflexes'''</span>

<br>
Logan's reflexes are better than the finest human specimen. His regenerative healing factor puts him on par with them, and his superhumanly acute senses put him over the top. He can often see, hear, smell, or tell by some other sense that something is coming, and that early warning, combined with his physique, gives him just enough that he might fool people into thinking he was precognisant. However, much of the time doesn't even bother to evade.<br>

Logan prefers to fight low to the ground because he has an unusually low centre of gravity, but he is capable of aerial acrobatics, featuring complex gymnastic moves. Logan has always had a feral, bestial streak about him. He can tap into it, and use his superhumanly acute senses to read the emotional state of most animals, such as anger, fear, happiness, or pain. He can communicate with them on a basic level to make them aware of his actions and his intentions. Unless they are overly hungry or scared, most animals will not attack him. <br>

Bartending is one of the best skills a vagabond like Logan could ever hope for. When he needs cash, he can dress the part, get a few shifts at some nightclub, and earn some cash, with most of it under the table. Bartenders make good money, and Logan is a very good one. He knows how to make any drink you could name, and even more you couldn't. He's also good at drinks like juggling bottles and creating glass pyramids. He's also a good listener.<br>

He can be charming or he can be intimidating, but he is never boring. He just has a certain presence. He goes out of his way to distance himself from others, and yet, he has friends.<br>

Logan has lived for a long time, well over 130 years. Logan has travelled throughout the world, and has a knack for picking up languages, wherever he goes, usually with his own "flavour". He has also been "given" language training from Professor X and the Weapon X program. The languages he is known to speak and be fluent in are: English, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, several dialects of Arabic, Cheyenne, and Lakota. Logan also knows a fair amount of French, Italian, Portuguese and German, enough to get by.
Logan has travelled the world, and worked for a number of government agencies. He's worked for a number of governments too. He is a trained expert in multiple types of assassination, computer systems, espionage, explosives, vehicles, weapons, and has many other skills associated with covert ops.<br>

Logan's background includes service in the Canadian military and Team X, Black Ops teams, CIA and Canadian Secret Service. Logan has received intense training by Ogun and other sensei's as a samurai, a ninja and a martial artist. Logan has trained and sparred with masters around the world over the last 100 years, and heroes like Captain America, Iron Fist, Shang Chi, Black Widow, and Daredevil. He is an outstanding fighter, and is a true warrior, a master of numerous forms of unarmed combat. Logan can go toe to toe with some of the greatest fighters the world has even known, and win.
Logan may play the part of the rough and tumble Canadian, drinking Molson, wearing bomber jackets, flannel shirts, blue jeans, and generally being ill mannered. But he is well-read and well-travelled. He speaks a number of languages and he can speak intelligently about a wide variety of subjects. When he wants to, he cleans up very nicely. He may not share his insights, but hidden away, just under the surface, Logan is both cultured and refined.<br>

Logan is also a Captain in the CAF, and is well versed in procedures, traditions, history, and policies of several armed forces. Logan understands tactics and strategy, and has served under some of the most legendary tacticians in the last 100 years.
Logan has a funny way of escaping from restraints. Whether he has to use brute force, his claws, dislocate body parts, which is easier said than done when your skeleton is laced with adamantium, Logan always seems to find a way to break free. He's faced many a death trap, but not one has got him yet.<br>

Logan's background includes intense training and has decades of experience tracking all types of people and animals. Logan is an expert tracker, even without his special abilities. Logan can track in most environments, including frozen tundra, wilderness, desert, mountainous, jungle, swamp terrain, and includes a few extra terrestrial terrains as well. Logan can easily predict the movements of untrained prey, and is legendary in tracking even the greatest of challenges. Combine this with his stealth abilities, and they never see him coming.
Logan is not so much a student of history, as he was a witness to it. He has lived for longer than anyone has a right to, and he's lived it through the eyes of a man in his prime. He read about the Olympic Games, the Wright brother's flight, and the Model T as they happened. They were front page news. He fought in the Great War, Spanish Civil War, Second World War, Korean War, suffice it to say, he's fought in a lot of wars. When he speaks about the Great Depression or any other modern historical event, he speaks from memory.<br>

Logan's favorite mode of transportation is motorcycles, and he is a roadmaster. Logan also knows how to drive most forms of transportation, from civilian vehicles such as cars and trucks, including 18 wheelers, to military vehicles and transportation. Logan has also received training from the Canadian Forces, Alpha Flight, and Cyclops in how to fly aircraft, helicopters, airplanes, and jets, including the X-Men's Blackbird.
Logan is an expert marksman. He has uncanny hand-eye coordination, and is able to use throwing weapons and firearms in equal measure. As he once said, "I can put six shots into a quarter... an' get change for the gum-machine". Which also betrays his age, as when he was younger, there were gum-machines.<br>

Logan has decades of service in the Canadian military and Team X, Black Ops teams, SHIELD, CIA and Canadian Secret Service, including espionage operations, assassination, wetworks, and stealth. Logan has received intense training by several weapons masters. Logan is a true warrior, a master of numerous types of armed combat. Logan usually prefers bladed weapons, however, namely his claws.
Logan has been a soldier, a covert operative, a samurai, and an adventurer. He is an exceptional fighter, with a particular expertise in the Japanese martial arts. He has mastered more than a dozen different forms. In terms of just skill, he is one of the finest hand-to-hand combatants on Earth. He has fought people with greater power than his own and matched them with skill. He has also taken on a number of students, imparting some of what he's learned.<br>

Logan also has access to the headquarters, facilities, resources, gear, vehicles and personnel as he requires. He also knows their protocols, procedures, and policies, and this can be an advantage as well.
Logan knows machines, especially ones with moving parts. After all, he was already 76 years old when Henry Ford unveiled the Model T. But he's never really been much of a car guy. They're just too big, too clunky. Motorcycles are more his style and his favourite is the 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead. He knows something about Helicopters, Planes, and some of the newer Jets. He can repair him, he can maintain them, and he can drive them. But except for the old stuff, he can't build them. He's more of a grease monkey than a designer.<br>

Logan is world renowned as a member of the mutant team of X-Men and also as a current member of the Avengers. This gives him a good reputation in organizations such as SHIELD or law enforcement, and he is a "consultant" to these law enforcement groups. Logan also knows members of most, if not all major super teams, and has worked with numerous super heroes (and even some super villains) including the Fantastic Four, Defenders and Alpha Flight (as a Founding Member). However, being so "famous" also makes him a target for villains and mercenaries trying to take him down. This advantage is a double edged sword, and can be a positive and a negative.
Logan's first job was in the mines, and back then, they didn't have the same kind of safety standards or equipment that they do nowadays. He knows enough to get an honourary degree in geology. Throw him into a hole, anywhere in the world, and he'll find his way. He also knows some great old mining songs.<br>

The Honor Sword represents Clan Yashida's history and traditions. it is truly perfection of form and function, of reality and spirit to be worn, not by the Lord of the Clan but by the Samurai who best exemplified those qualities. The sword was forged from meteorite iron by a Demon swordsmiths in the caves of Kyushu over 800 years ago. Hoken had Masumune himself reforge the Blade into the Honor Sword. Logan was made "custodian" of Masamune by Mariko after he killed Lord Shingen after his criminal empire brought shame and dishonour to Clan Yashida. This sword may have spiritual and supernatural qualities, of which Logan has yet to discover fully.
Logan is a polyglot. He is fluent in Arabic, Blackfoot, Cheyenne, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Doopese, English, Farsi, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Lakota, Nowek, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Tibetan, and Vietnamese. However, he also can drive most forms of transportation, and so has been known to also have cars and trucks towed away in secret locations, just in case. Logan also has a custom WWII vintage Harley Davidson at Xavier's School, and is used for shop class whenever he can be there to teach it.
Logan didn't always take to flying. He was a late adopter. But once he got used to it, he really took a shine. He learned how they worked, how to repair, maintain, and fly all manner of aircraft. He's even flown combat missions. Put him into a helicopter, plane, or jet, and he'll figure it out.<br>

Logan will also do nearly anything to help a fellow member of the X-Men and the subsequent mutant teams if they need him. Logan has access to the headquarters, facilities, resources, gear, vehicles and personnel as he requires.
Logan is a master behind the steering wheel of a car or the handlebars of a motorcycle. He can weave in and out of traffic, direct a motorcycle into a controlled skid under a closing door, or helicopter blade, as the case may be. He can drive a car on two wheels. He may ruin the vehicle doing it, but that's a problem for later. He'll cross that bridge when he gets to it.<br>

Without Logan's healing factor, the adamantium in his body would kill him. As it is, the adamantium in his body slows his healing factor and makes it tougher for the healing factor to recover from a severe overload, or severe injury as his healing factor is always working at high capacity to purge the metal poisons from his system.
Logan is an expert in the use of daggers, knives, and most especially, the traditional swords of the samurai class, the katana and wakizashi. Together, they are known as the daisho, which means "big-little". He studied under a master. He uses a different technique with his claws, but it is similar.<br>

Wolverine occasionally flies into a rage, losing control, and going "berserk". Although less evident nowadays, he can still lose control when he is severely injured or upset. This allows him to ignore attacks that would normally cripple or stun him, so there is an advantage to losing control. However, there is also an obvious disadvantage. When Wolverine flies into this rage, he cannot distinguish allies and enemies, so he will attack everyone and anything in his attack radius, even to the point of severely hurting or even killing them.
Logan enjoys a good brawl, but he is a surprisingly sophisticated combatant. He may allow himself to be hit, knowing full well that his regenerative healing factor will take care of it. To him, it is an unorthodox tactical advantage. Once, when his vitals were measured during a training exercise, the doctor reported that his physical and mental state was "equivalent to an Olympic-level gymnast performing a Gold-medal-winning routine whilst simultaneously beating four chess computers in his head

Logan has memory problems to say the least. A lot of his memories are lost, as traumatic experiences are sometimes healed by his healing factor almost like an injury, leaving scars and flashes of memory. Logan has recovered many memories in recent years, but even these are incomplete and fragmented. This can be frustrating and cause Logan to become even more grumpy than usual as he tries to piece together bits and pieces of his memory, especially memories from Logan's distant past.
Logan owns a brownstone on the Upper West Side of New York. Today, it's worth millions, but when he bought it, they were practically giving them away. It's become the one true home he has. He may travel the world, but he always seems to find his way back, and there, or in a storage facility nearby, he keeps his relics, his trinkets, mementos, and artefacts. He rarely entertains.<br>

Logan has a unique personality. He can be pig headed, stubborn, irritable, gruff, brusque, tough, difficult, insensitive, short, impatient, and passionate. Logan has a strict code of honor that blends bushido, nijitsu, and his own mix of Canadian ethics, morals and code. Logan is independent and tends to believe his way is the right way, no matter what. All of this means is that he can be manipulated by the right person, if they truly know him. It also means he can be a very difficult person to get along with.
Logan has the kind of connections that can only be amassed through an extraordinary long life. He's saved people who have since gone on to have children, grandchildren, generations have passed. But sometimes the family legend about him endures. He knows more experts in more fields than the guy from Pawn Stars. He gets around. He has friends in lots of different places.<br>

The Wolverine is a savage beast that walks like a man. He can't be killed. He can't be stopped. When he comes for you, he will hold your life in the palm of his hands. If you live, it will be because he spared you. For a man who walks around wearing canary yellow, the Wolverine is a fearsome proposition for the criminal element. For some, all they need to see is him standing there, claws unsheathed, breathing, for them to beg for his mercy.<br>

Logan has documents, some fake, some legitimate, that would stand up to most scrutiny. They include driver's licences, passports, social security, and other forms of identification. He's memorised the cover identifications that go along with them. They usually involve some combination of James, Jimmy, Jim, Logan, and Hudson, though he does have Emilio Garra and Peter Richards.<br>

The alias he used was Jim Logan. Officially he's been on extended leave, but he's still on the books and still has his badge. Because he doesn't collect a paycheque, no one's noticed how old his file is. The Detective Jim Logan identity can be very useful to have from time to time.<br>

Logan's katana is an ancient blade that was forged from the ore of a meteorite, and combined with terrestrial materials. The blade is magnetic, drawn to the magnetic poles, but it is so subtle that it takes Logan's superhumanly acute senses to notice it. Logan considers it an honour to borrow the blade. For he knows, as long lived as he is, the blade does not belong to him. He is only borrowing it for a time. It resides at a place of honour in his brownstone, and he only brings it out for special occasions.<br>

Logan's pride and joy is a stock 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead motorcycle. He's built and rebuilt that thing so many times, but every time, he makes look just the way it did, back in 1948. Whenever he loses it entirely, he just makes a new one. But it's getting harder and harder to find the parts.<br>

<span style="color:#228B22">'''Patch'''</span>

Logan developed the alias of Patch during an earlier period of his life where he was recovering from having an eye carved out of its socket. He wore a Patch, and that is what they called him. The name stuck. Decades later, the name Patch is a feared and respected one in the island nation of Madripoor. It is also known throughout Southeast Asia. The name is synonymous with terror, torture, and triumph over any and all comers. Madripoor is not for the faint of heart, and this was a bad time in Logan's life. He did some things he's not proud of, but it set him up for life. He'll still make infrequent use of his Patch persona when the Wolverine or Logan won't do.<br>

When Logan worked as a covert operative, he had to establish his own network. It was off the books and needed to be funded by outside sources. This led him to make arrangements with the locals, some of which have been long since forgotten, or the group he made the deal with has disappeared. But a few of them have continued, and are used to this day. Part and parcel of these arrangements is that he has a network of safe houses around the world. There are probably even a few that are still available, but he's forgotten about.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#228B22">'''Students'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan has trained a number of people. He's taught covert ops, martial arts, and helped a lot of superheroes. Some of the people he's helped decided to go the other way, but no matter what course they chose, the relationship between the master and the apprentice is a special one. It never truly goes away.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#228B22">'''Teams'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan currently serves on a large number of teams, and has served on an even larger number in the past. Name a team of superheroes and he's fought alongside them, or probably will someday soon. He's also worked for a long list of government agencies, police forces, armies, and organised crime.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#228B22">'''Uniforms'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan has a number of uniforms. His favourite is his classic yellow and blue one. He also has a brown and yellow one that he sometimes wears. It's a little less showy. He also has a black one he wears as Patch. His costumes are durable, but they are made from conventional materials. He's been meaning to get them re-imagined in unstable molecules, but he hasn't done that yet.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#228B22">'''Wealth'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan hasn't saved as much as he should have, but he does have assets. He has bank accounts that he hasn't touched in decades. Some of the banks have closed, others have accumulated enormous interest. The problem with that is he has to concoct a story about his being a relative. Since everything went digital, it's become harder. But Logan has money. He could live comfortably.<br>

|Weaknesses=<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Acute Senses'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan's senses are as much vulnerability as they are an asset. Bright lights, intense sounds, strong odours, and even foul tastes could bother him at best, and prove near fatal at worst. Every one of his senses could be taken advantage of if someone knew enough to try. He can differentiate what he senses, like picking out a sound in a crowded room, but he can't turn it off. He hears it all, and if it were loud enough, it could temporarily deafen or kill him if not for his healing factor.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Authority'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan has a problem with authority. When he respects the authority figure, it's not too bad. He can be a good teammate. The problem is when he feels that the authority figure is his junior, less experienced, or less talented. He goes where he wants and when he wants. Trust does not come easily for him. When working for an inexperienced or ineffective leader, he can be nightmare.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Berserker'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Closer to the surface than most men, Logan has a berserker lurking within his psyche, just waiting for the opportunity to break free. He plays things fast and loose, going close to the line, but he tries not to cross it too often or too much. When he does, he becomes more animal than man. It makes him a very effective warrior, but he loses all ability to control his actions. When in this state, there's little that can cut through. Logan's still in there, but he can't get out until someone snaps him out of it or he calms down, which usually means there are lot of dead, dying, or unconscious people around.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Bushido'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan first travelled to Japan in the early half of the 20th Century. Ever since then, he has followed Bushido. It is far more than just a code of honour, but that is all that most Westerners can take from it. It is a philosophy, a way of life. Its teachings help him to understand, bring solace, and understanding, to his confusion. It gives him a sense of justice, of what is right and wrong. He does not follow any government's law, but respects them whenever he can.<br>
<br>
He does what's right by him. He does not like hurting innocent or unarmed people. He doesn't like killing. And he doesn't like stealing. He can overcome these, in some cases he's very good at it, but that doesn't mean he's happy about it. He will make his penance as he sees fits. Following the path of Bushido may sound like it's a good thing, but in truth, it only restricts. Logan would have a lot of trouble with someone who got to their knees and threw away their weapon. It's also part of the reason he's had so much trouble working with members of the Weapon Plus program.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Carbonadium'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan's regenerative healing factor can be neutralised by the radiation given off by carbonadium. If he were shot by a bullet made from carbonadium, it would take double, triple, or even quadruple the time to heal. It depends on the wound. If the bullet were to get stuck, lodged inside him, his healing factor would be unable to repair the damage. He would have to heal naturally.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Children'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan has children out there. He doesn't know much about them, hasn't played a part in their upbringing, but he does have them. When he meets them, he may face an enemy, a friend, or perhaps a mixture of both.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Killer'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan is a killer. He has no qualms about it. He's done it before, and he'll do it again. He's crossed a line from which he can never go back. He feels justified in the deaths he's caused; most of them anyway. Either way, there's something different about those who are willing to kill. He often says he's the best there is at what he does, but what he does best isn't very nice.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Loner'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan works best when he works alone. He keeps to himself. He would be quite happy to live out his life in a cabin somewhere, and he has. But it's not a very exciting existence. Eventually, he always returns to what passes for civilisation. He can work within a team environment, but he has a reputation for wandering off without warning. In that sense, he's a bit unreliable.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Memory'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Indirectly, Logan's marvellous healing factor has caused him some troubles. He has endured a great deal of pain and suffering in his lifetime. He has seen much, endured much, and hurt much. It took him a long time to come to grips with being a mutant. And every pain, real or imagined, was 'cured' by his healing factor. This includes emotional instability. When he could not accept what he had seen or done, his mind closed off that part, walled it up and tried to forget. Memories were implanted, rearranged, and manipulated during his time with the Weapon Plus program.<br>
<br>
To this day, Logan does not remember his real name or where he's from. He remembers faces, images, sounds, scents, but none of it is organised. He has nightmares, reliving the horrors he has endured. People have used his state of amnesia against him. He has not known a peaceful night's sleep in many years, but he'd like to give it a try.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Mutant'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan is a mutant. It's in his DNA. He will appear positive on any test for the mutant gene. There are devices that are capable of recognising mutants from afar, and he will show up. In addition to that, there is a lot of mistrust towards mutants. There are groups dedicating to eradicating them. He lives in a world that hates and fears him. But it's a burden he must bear.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Poisoning'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan's regenerative healing factor prevents him from being poisoned by the adamantium within his body. If his healing factor were ever neutralised, by carbonadium or some other means, he would begin to suffer from its effects. Even with the healing factor, its effectiveness is hampered by the poison.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Public Identity'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan has a uniform. He has a codename. But he's not too concerned about protecting his identity. He'll throw down with or without the uniform. There are a lot of people who know him as Logan and the Wolverine. Anyone who got close to him, friends, teammates, or something more, would be put in jeopardy by his lack of secrecy. This makes it that much harder to protect them.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Reduced Buoyancy'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
Logan does not float. The 47.6 kg of adamantium lying under his skin makes it hard for him to swim. With great effort, he can overcome this. If he were ever stranded in the middle of a large body of water, he'd be in big trouble.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Rogue's Gallery'''</span>
<br><br>
<br>
In the last decade, a host of psychopaths with super powers have appeared. Several of them were around before that, but most didn't wear uniforms or use cheap - and sometimes expensive - gimmicks. Ever since Wolverine adopted his uniform, he seems to have accumulated more enemies by the day. Some he knew long before he donned the yellow and blue. Others became his enemy before he even met them, or remembers meeting them. It's fuzzy. He has come up against organisations and his own government. Logan does not play well with others.<br>

<br><br>
<span style="color:#EE204D">'''Self-Loathing'''</span>
<br><br>
<br><br>
<span style="color:#00CED1">'''ROGUE'S GALLERY'''</span>
<br>
<br>
Logan has made a lot of enemies in 140+ years of life. His rogue's gallery is quite extensive, and filled with some of the worst thieves, cuthroats, killers, murderers, assassins, world conquerors, dictators, aliens, villains, and mutant haters. He is public enemy number 1 for a lot of organizations and individuals, and even "frenemies". The interesting thing is, Logan sometimes does not even know why they want to kill him as he doesn't even remember them. Logan is, indeed, the Best He Is At What He Does, and it is not usually making friends.
Logan's favourite line is that he is the best there is at what he does, but what he does best isn't very nice. There's a certain degree of self-loathing in that statement. He does not like himself, or the role he's

Profile

As he likes to say, he's the best there is at what he does, but what he does best isn't very nice.

Desc. (Logan)

He has a sort of "this is me, deal" kind of bearing.

He presents the image of someone who may have just come in from working outside.

He has a sort of "this is me, deal" kind of bearing.

Besides the area around his head and neck, his only visible skin is from shoulders to wrists.

There are six more stripes around his torso. Further down, he has a red compartmentalised belt. Below the belt, the costume includes blue briefs, worn externally, before returning to yellow. His flared shoulder pads and gloves are also blue. The gloves contain three silver semi-cylinders each, near his knuckles. His knee-high boots are blue, with black flares at the top. He also wears a mask, which is yellow with two flared mouldings that stretch from the bridge of his nose, covering his ears. His mouth, chin, and arms, from shoulder to elbow, are bare, with the rest covered.

History 1

Sometime in the 1820's, Elizabeth Howlett (nee Hudson) began a torrid affair with Thomas Logan, the groundskeeper for her husband's estate. This infidelity gave birth to a son, James, who was passed off as the son of John Howlett, Sr. After the death of his elder brother John Jr., the young James became the sole heir to the Howlett's considerable estate in what was then called the North-Western Territory. Today, it is known as the Canadian province of Alberta.

This led to the expulsion of Dog and his father from the estate.

James and Rose went on the run, as Dog had reported them to the authorities and James' grandfather.

James and Rose first fled to what is now the Yukon, before finally settling in what would eventually become British Columbia. James found work in a stone quarry. He quickly grew to resemble Thomas in build and stature, even taking his name, though that was more out of necessity than anything else. Rose O'Hara and James Howlett were still being hunted by his grandfather's men, but nobody cared about "Rose Logan" and her cousin, "James Logan".

Cookie cut Rose and Logan's rations, so Logan hunted in the wild, giving whatever Rose and he didn't need to his co-workers, and they loved him for it.

Smitty made Rose happy.

Having been seen using his claws in the middle of the town's street, and killing his first love, Logan fled, disappearing into the wild.

History 2

And there he lived in a self-imposed exile. Was it a matter of months or years, who can say? During his time as mountain man, he met and fell in love with a Blackfoot woman. They built a cabin together, and might have lived happily ever after. But fate had other plans. On Logan's birthday, a man attacked, raped, and left his love for dead. Logan tracked the man down and fought, losing. The man did not take Logan's life. He was far crueller. He had already taken the only thing in the world that still mattered to Logan. But now his love was replaced with pain. He was left him with nothing but pain.

He replied, "... worse, a horse thief".

But when she started talking about a bank robbery, he informed the authorities of her plans.

A few years after Black Tuesday, which was the Stock Market Crash of 1929, Logan found himself in the Principality of Madripoor, where he first began using the alias of Patch. There, he learned to become an assassin. This marked the start of his globetrotting. He would travel to Japan, studying under a Master, before heading west, where he would fight in the Spanish Civil War.

When Canada declared war on Germany, he returned to the Devil's Brigade. During the course of the war, he would fight alongside some true heroes, legends really. Sometime after the war, Logan returned to Japan, where he would find the first true peace in some time. He married a Japanese woman.

But she was murdered and he was forced to leave. He had been banned from the village for accidentally killing a villager. From there, Logan returned home, returned to Canada, where he became a freelance intelligence agent. Embracing his nickname, he took Wolverine as his codename while working for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Security Service (now known as the Canadian Security Intelligence Service), and later for America's Central Intelligence Agency.

They may have made him into a killer, but he never stopped being a good person.

He travelled the globe with Team X, performing black operations, and remembering none of them. Because he would regain his memories from time to time, they had to be suppressed, distorted, and replaced with new ones. As a result, he doesn't know which memories are genuine, and which ones were implanted. H

Personality

Personality

Logan has a wild, untamed personality. He lives life to its fullest, enjoying his Cuban cigars, Canadian beer, gambling, fighting, women, you name it, and he enjoys it. He is a product of his environment. He started working in the mines when he was just thirteen years old. He became a man in the frontier.

He does not shy away from trouble. He actively seeks it out. When he's in the mood for a card game, he usually starts by looking for the worst people he can find. He has no problem socialising with lowlifes because they're the most fun. There's no point in doing it if there isn't a chance to get hurt.

There is a wild and savage animal lurking just beneath the surface. When he gives in to that animal, he is capable of terrible things. But over time, he has recognised this part of him, and made efforts to subdue it. He has buried it in meditation and the adoption of Bushido. He lives by the warrior's code.

He is an honourable man. He has a sense of justice. It has become as much a part of him as the adamantium that coats his very bones. It is his fondest wish that he could become a samurai. But that will never be. He is too rash, too impatient, and too angry. He is a failed samurai, a ronin, destined to roam.

He must travel the world in search of a purpose. Occasionally, he will find one, and he will know happiness for a time. But such things are fleeting. They never last. Eventually, all things must wither and die, but he remains.

He is a rock, unflinching, and unchanging. The world may remake itself around him, but he will always be the rock. He will always be alone. And yet, in spite of himself, the rough exterior he presents, he has the soul of a poet.

He may be a loner, destined to walk the Earth forever, or until his regenerative healing factor wears out, but he has left his mark in this world. He has taken in students, imparting his knowledge and wisdom. He cares about people. He may not be able to move the river, but he can pick out some things that drift along the water, helping them to right their course.

Abilities

Click to expand.

Acute Senses

Logan's sense of sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch are finely honed instruments. He can see farther than is possible by an ordinary human unassisted by technology. He can see in the dark without needing time to adjust his eyes, and it mimics the effects of night vision goggles. He is able to recognise people and other objects by scent alone. He can differentiate these smells in a crowded room. He can hear noises from adjacent rooms, and distinguish them.

All of his senses are superhumanly acute, and he uses them to hunt or track.

Agility

Logan may carry around 47.6 kg of extra weight inside his body, but it's distributed evenly throughout, which has allowed him to maintain his agility, balance, and coordination. It took a little bit of getting used to, but he's had decades to hone it. Because of his regenerative healing factor, his tendons and other internal organs function at their physical peak, and when combined with his other superhuman abilities, allows him to dodge bullets, jump great distances, bend, twist, contort, or perform similar agile feats.

Claws

The act of drawing, or drawing and then retracting them, happens in an instant, a quick draw if you will, acting similar to a spring loaded weapon.

Contaminants

Logan is a heavy drinker. As strange as it sounds, he enjoys beer for the taste. But the intoxicating effects do not overcome him as easily as they do ordinary people. His immune system, supported by his healing factor, affords him virtual immunity to all poisons and toxins. He is difficult to sedate, intoxicate, poison, drug, tranquillise, or induce other chemical effects.

Delayed Ageing

For a supercentenarian, Logan is in remarkable physical condition. He's gruff and unkempt, making it hard to tie down his exact age, but he looks no younger than 31, and no older than 47. And it's all thanks to that regenerative healing factor of his. Physically, he is in the prime of life.

Disease Immunity

Logan does not get sick. Long ago, his body fought off most known diseases, and he is now immune to their effects. When a new disease is introduced, which is exceedingly rare given his globetrotting, it is quickly fought off. It depends on how virulent the disease is. His blood could probably be used to create a cure for all known human diseases. But it would come at a cost. He has thought about this and the world is better off with life being short. At a certain point, you stop living. You exist, but you've lost something.

Durability

A side effect of having an adamantium laced skeleton is that the subject becomes incredibly durable. Blunt force trauma is often redistributed from the source and diffuses inside him. Hitting him in the chest is like hitting a brick. By itself, it can be smashed. As part of a wall, it becomes much harder. Even before he gained the adamantium, his skeleton was unusually thick and healthy, thanks to the regenerative healing factor. He's tough.

Healing Factor

Logan has immense regenerative properties, which have only gotten better with age. Muscles are built by breaking down, letting it heal, breaking it down again, and it comes back stronger than before. His regenerative healing factor works the same way. He has been shot, sliced, blown up, thrown out of moving vehicles, thrown through windows, thrown out of planes, and thrown just about anything way you could think of.

His healing factor has closed off damaged portions of his psyche after horrific events and shocks to his mind, repairing it as best it could. But the mind is a tricky thing. His healing factor makes it so he can function, but it has caused him pain by removing some memories from his consciousness.

Indomitable Will

He is the Wolverine.

Psionic Resistance

Logan's mind is incredibly difficult to mess with. It can and has been done, but it is no easy feat. With the right combination of drugs - a huge amount are needed - props, and telepathy, the Weapon Plus program was able to create a number of false memories, often largely based on his true past experiences. Because of his regenerative healing factor, and what was done to him, his mind no longer functions as normally. It can be very confusing for telepaths.

Reflexes

Logan's reflexes are better than the finest human specimen. His regenerative healing factor puts him on par with them, and his superhumanly acute senses put him over the top. He can often see, hear, smell, or tell by some other sense that something is coming, and that early warning, combined with his physique, gives him just enough that he might fool people into thinking he was precognisant. However, much of the time doesn't even bother to evade.

Skeleton

Thanks to the ministrations of the good people at the Weapon Plus project, Logan's entire skeletal structure has been laced with adamantium. His flesh was injected with the molten formula, coating his bones. While his healing factor

Skills

Click to expand.

Acrobat

Logan prefers to fight low to the ground because he has an unusually low centre of gravity, but he is capable of aerial acrobatics, featuring complex gymnastic moves. He is highly flexible, and able to execute movements on par with Olympic gymnasts, or what you might see performed by Cirque du Soleil.

Animal Empathy

Logan has always had a feral, bestial streak about him. He can tap into it, and use his superhumanly acute senses to read the emotional state of most animals, such as anger, fear, happiness, or pain. He can communicate with them on a basic level to make them aware of his actions and his intentions. Unless they are overly hungry or scared, most animals will not attack him.

Bartender

Bartending is one of the best skills a vagabond like Logan could ever hope for. When he needs cash, he can dress the part, get a few shifts at some nightclub, and earn some cash, with most of it under the table. Bartenders make good money, and Logan is a very good one. He knows how to make any drink you could name, and even more you couldn't. He's also good at drinks like juggling bottles and creating glass pyramids. He's also a good listener.

Charisma

Logan has a certain charisma about him. He's a loner at heart, but he's also a born leader. He's the kind of person who can give you a backhanded compliment, or insult you to your face, and still make you smile. People just seem to like him. He has gravitas. He can be charming or he can be intimidating, but he is never boring. He just has a certain presence. He goes out of his way to distance himself from others, and yet, he has friends.

Covert Ops

Logan has travelled the world, and worked for a number of government agencies. He's worked for a number of governments too. He is a trained expert in multiple types of assassination, computer systems, espionage, explosives, vehicles, weapons, and has many other skills associated with covert ops.

Cultured

Logan may play the part of the rough and tumble Canadian, drinking Molson, wearing bomber jackets, flannel shirts, blue jeans, and generally being ill mannered. But he is well-read and well-travelled. He speaks a number of languages and he can speak intelligently about a wide variety of subjects. When he wants to, he cleans up very nicely. He may not share his insights, but hidden away, just under the surface, Logan is both cultured and refined.

Escape Artist

Logan has a funny way of escaping from restraints. Whether he has to use brute force, his claws, dislocate body parts, which is easier said than done when your skeleton is laced with adamantium, Logan always seems to find a way to break free. He's faced many a death trap, but not one has got him yet.

Historian

Logan is not so much a student of history, as he was a witness to it. He has lived for longer than anyone has a right to, and he's lived it through the eyes of a man in his prime. He read about the Olympic Games, the Wright brother's flight, and the Model T as they happened. They were front page news. He fought in the Great War, Spanish Civil War, Second World War, Korean War, suffice it to say, he's fought in a lot of wars. When he speaks about the Great Depression or any other modern historical event, he speaks from memory.

Marksman

Logan is an expert marksman. He has uncanny hand-eye coordination, and is able to use throwing weapons and firearms in equal measure. As he once said, "I can put six shots into a quarter... an' get change for the gum-machine". Which also betrays his age, as when he was younger, there were gum-machines.

Martial Artist

Logan has been a soldier, a covert operative, a samurai, and an adventurer. He is an exceptional fighter, with a particular expertise in the Japanese martial arts. He has mastered more than a dozen different forms. In terms of just skill, he is one of the finest hand-to-hand combatants on Earth. He has fought people with greater power than his own and matched them with skill. He has also taken on a number of students, imparting some of what he's learned.

Mechanic

Logan knows machines, especially ones with moving parts. After all, he was already 76 years old when Henry Ford unveiled the Model T. But he's never really been much of a car guy. They're just too big, too clunky. Motorcycles are more his style and his favourite is the 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead. He knows something about Helicopters, Planes, and some of the newer Jets. He can repair him, he can maintain them, and he can drive them. But except for the old stuff, he can't build them. He's more of a grease monkey than a designer.

Miner

Logan's first job was in the mines, and back then, they didn't have the same kind of safety standards or equipment that they do nowadays. He knows enough to get an honourary degree in geology. Throw him into a hole, anywhere in the world, and he'll find his way. He also knows some great old mining songs.

Multilingual

Logan is a polyglot. He is fluent in Arabic, Blackfoot, Cheyenne, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Doopese, English, Farsi, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Lakota, Nowek, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Tibetan, and Vietnamese. He easily picks up new languages. After a few hours to a few days, he has conversational level. After a few weeks, he'll be fluent.

Pilot

Logan didn't always take to flying. He was a late adopter. But once he got used to it, he really took a shine. He learned how they worked, how to repair, maintain, and fly all manner of aircraft. He's even flown combat missions. Put him into a helicopter, plane, or jet, and he'll figure it out.

Stunt Driver

Logan is a master behind the steering wheel of a car or the handlebars of a motorcycle. He can weave in and out of traffic, direct a motorcycle into a controlled skid under a closing door, or helicopter blade, as the case may be. He can drive a car on two wheels. He may ruin the vehicle doing it, but that's a problem for later. He'll cross that bridge when he gets to it.

Swordsman

Logan is an expert in the use of daggers, knives, and most especially, the traditional swords of the samurai class, the katana and wakizashi. Together, they are known as the daisho, which means "big-little". He studied under a master. He uses a different technique with his claws, but it is similar.

Tactician

Logan enjoys a good brawl, but he is a surprisingly sophisticated combatant. He may allow himself to be hit, knowing full well that his regenerative healing factor will take care of it. To him, it is an unorthodox tactical advantage. Once, when his vitals were measured during a training exercise, the doctor reported that his physical and mental state was "equivalent to an Olympic-level gymnast performing a Gold-medal-winning routine whilst simultaneously beating four chess computers in his head

Brownstone

Logan owns a brownstone on the Upper West Side of New York. Today, it's worth millions, but when he bought it, they were practically giving them away. It's become the one true home he has. He may travel the world, but he always seems to find his way back, and there, or in a storage facility nearby, he keeps his relics, his trinkets, mementos, and artefacts. He rarely entertains.

Connections

Logan has the kind of connections that can only be amassed through an extraordinary long life. He's saved people who have since gone on to have children, grandchildren, generations have passed. But sometimes the family legend about him endures. He knows more experts in more fields than the guy from Pawn Stars. He gets around. He has friends in lots of different places.

Fear Factor

The Wolverine is a savage beast that walks like a man. He can't be killed. He can't be stopped. When he comes for you, he will hold your life in the palm of his hands. If you live, it will be because he spared you. For a man who walks around wearing canary yellow, the Wolverine is a fearsome proposition for the criminal element. For some, all they need to see is him standing there, claws unsheathed, breathing, for them to beg for his mercy.

Identification

Logan has documents, some fake, some legitimate, that would stand up to most scrutiny. They include driver's licences, passports, social security, and other forms of identification. He's memorised the cover identifications that go along with them. They usually involve some combination of James, Jimmy, Jim, Logan, and Hudson, though he does have Emilio Garra and Peter Richards.

Influence

Logan is a legend. Those who know him, respect, admire, and probably fear him too. When he speaks, people, the right people, listen. He has a history. He is a force to be reckoned with. His voice carries weight, and when he gets into trouble with the authorities, he can count on a friend to get him out.

Jim Logan

Logan is unaware that he was born James Howlett. As far back as he can remember, he has been known as Logan. But some time ago, he joined the Nassau Police Department. The alias he used was Jim Logan. Officially he's been on extended leave, but he's still on the books and still has his badge. Because he doesn't collect a paycheque, no one's noticed how old his file is. The Detective Jim Logan identity can be very useful to have from time to time.

Katana

Logan's katana is an ancient blade that was forged from the ore of a meteorite, and combined with terrestrial materials. The blade is magnetic, drawn to the magnetic poles, but it is so subtle that it takes Logan's superhumanly acute senses to notice it. Logan considers it an honour to borrow the blade. For he knows, as long lived as he is, the blade does not belong to him. He is only borrowing it for a time. It resides at a place of honour in his brownstone, and he only brings it out for special occasions.

Motorcycle

Logan's pride and joy is a stock 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead motorcycle. He's built and rebuilt that thing so many times, but every time, he makes look just the way it did, back in 1948. Whenever he loses it entirely, he just makes a new one. But it's getting harder and harder to find the parts.

Patch

Logan developed the alias of Patch during an earlier period of his life where he was recovering from having an eye carved out of its socket. He wore a Patch, and that is what they called him. The name stuck. Decades later, the name Patch is a feared and respected one in the island nation of Madripoor. It is also known throughout Southeast Asia. The name is synonymous with terror, torture, and triumph over any and all comers. Madripoor is not for the faint of heart, and this was a bad time in Logan's life. He did some things he's not proud of, but it set him up for life. He'll still make infrequent use of his Patch persona when the Wolverine or Logan won't do.

Safe Houses

When Logan worked as a covert operative, he had to establish his own network. It was off the books and needed to be funded by outside sources. This led him to make arrangements with the locals, some of which have been long since forgotten, or the group he made the deal with has disappeared. But a few of them have continued, and are used to this day. Part and parcel of these arrangements is that he has a network of safe houses around the world. There are probably even a few that are still available, but he's forgotten about.

Students

Logan has trained a number of people. He's taught covert ops, martial arts, and helped a lot of superheroes. Some of the people he's helped decided to go the other way, but no matter what course they chose, the relationship between the master and the apprentice is a special one. It never truly goes away.

Teams

Logan currently serves on a large number of teams, and has served on an even larger number in the past. Name a team of superheroes and he's fought alongside them, or probably will someday soon. He's also worked for a long list of government agencies, police forces, armies, and organised crime.

Uniforms

Logan has a number of uniforms. His favourite is his classic yellow and blue one. He also has a brown and yellow one that he sometimes wears. It's a little less showy. He also has a black one he wears as Patch. His costumes are durable, but they are made from conventional materials. He's been meaning to get them re-imagined in unstable molecules, but he hasn't done that yet.

Wealth

Logan hasn't saved as much as he should have, but he does have assets. He has bank accounts that he hasn't touched in decades. Some of the banks have closed, others have accumulated enormous interest. The problem with that is he has to concoct a story about his being a relative. Since everything went digital, it's become harder. But Logan has money. He could live comfortably.

Weaknesses

Click to expand.

Acute Senses

Logan's senses are as much vulnerability as they are an asset. Bright lights, intense sounds, strong odours, and even foul tastes could bother him at best, and prove near fatal at worst. Every one of his senses could be taken advantage of if someone knew enough to try. He can differentiate what he senses, like picking out a sound in a crowded room, but he can't turn it off. He hears it all, and if it were loud enough, it could temporarily deafen or kill him if not for his healing factor.

Authority

Logan has a problem with authority. When he respects the authority figure, it's not too bad. He can be a good teammate. The problem is when he feels that the authority figure is his junior, less experienced, or less talented. He goes where he wants and when he wants. Trust does not come easily for him. When working for an inexperienced or ineffective leader, he can be nightmare.

Berserker

Closer to the surface than most men, Logan has a berserker lurking within his psyche, just waiting for the opportunity to break free. He plays things fast and loose, going close to the line, but he tries not to cross it too often or too much. When he does, he becomes more animal than man. It makes him a very effective warrior, but he loses all ability to control his actions. When in this state, there's little that can cut through. Logan's still in there, but he can't get out until someone snaps him out of it or he calms down, which usually means there are lot of dead, dying, or unconscious people around.

Bushido

Logan first travelled to Japan in the early half of the 20th Century. Ever since then, he has followed Bushido. It is far more than just a code of honour, but that is all that most Westerners can take from it. It is a philosophy, a way of life. Its teachings help him to understand, bring solace, and understanding, to his confusion. It gives him a sense of justice, of what is right and wrong. He does not follow any government's law, but respects them whenever he can.

It's also part of the reason he's had so much trouble working with members of the Weapon Plus program.

Carbonadium

Logan's regenerative healing factor can be neutralised by the radiation given off by carbonadium. If he were shot by a bullet made from carbonadium, it would take double, triple, or even quadruple the time to heal. It depends on the wound. If the bullet were to get stuck, lodged inside him, his healing factor would be unable to repair the damage. He would have to heal naturally.

Children

Logan has children out there. He doesn't know much about them, hasn't played a part in their upbringing, but he does have them. When he meets them, he may face an enemy, a friend, or perhaps a mixture of both.

Killer

Logan is a killer. He has no qualms about it. He's done it before, and he'll do it again. He's crossed a line from which he can never go back. He feels justified in the deaths he's caused; most of them anyway. Either way, there's something different about those who are willing to kill. He often says he's the best there is at what he does, but what he does best isn't very nice.

Loner

Logan works best when he works alone. He keeps to himself. He would be quite happy to live out his life in a cabin somewhere, and he has. But it's not a very exciting existence. Eventually, he always returns to what passes for civilisation. He can work within a team environment, but he has a reputation for wandering off without warning. In that sense, he's a bit unreliable.

Memory

Indirectly, Logan's marvellous healing factor has caused him some troubles. He has endured a great deal of pain and suffering in his lifetime. He has seen much, endured much, and hurt much. It took him a long time to come to grips with being a mutant. And every pain, real or imagined, was 'cured' by his healing factor. This includes emotional instability. When he could not accept what he had seen or done, his mind closed off that part, walled it up and tried to forget. Memories were implanted, rearranged, and manipulated during his time with the Weapon Plus program.

To this day, Logan does not remember his real name or where he's from. He remembers faces, images, sounds, scents, but none of it is organised. He has nightmares, reliving the horrors he has endured. People have used his state of amnesia against him. He has not known a peaceful night's sleep in many years, but he'd like to give it a try.

Mutant

Logan is a mutant. It's in his DNA. He will appear positive on any test for the mutant gene. There are devices that are capable of recognising mutants from afar, and he will show up. In addition to that, there is a lot of mistrust towards mutants. There are groups dedicating to eradicating them. He lives in a world that hates and fears him. But it's a burden he must bear.

Poisoning

Logan's regenerative healing factor prevents him from being poisoned by the adamantium within his body. If his healing factor were ever neutralised, by carbonadium or some other means, he would begin to suffer from its effects. Even with the healing factor, its effectiveness is hampered by the poison.

Public Identity

Logan has a uniform. He has a codename. But he's not too concerned about protecting his identity. He'll throw down with or without the uniform. There are a lot of people who know him as Logan and the Wolverine. Anyone who got close to him, friends, teammates, or something more, would be put in jeopardy by his lack of secrecy. This makes it that much harder to protect them.

Reduced Buoyancy

Logan does not float. The 47.6 kg of adamantium lying under his skin makes it hard for him to swim. With great effort, he can overcome this. If he were ever stranded in the middle of a large body of water, he'd be in big trouble.

Rogue's Gallery

In the last decade, a host of psychopaths with super powers have appeared. Several of them were around before that, but most didn't wear uniforms or use cheap - and sometimes expensive - gimmicks. Ever since Wolverine adopted his uniform, he seems to have accumulated more enemies by the day. Some he knew long before he donned the yellow and blue. Others became his enemy before he even met them, or remembers meeting them. It's fuzzy. He has come up against organisations and his own government. Logan does not play well with others.

Self-Loathing

Logan's favourite line is that he is the best there is at what he does, but what he does best isn't very nice. There's a certain degree of self-loathing in that statement. He does not like himself, or the role he's
