Owner Pose
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz arrives back in orbit of Earth. She checked in with the Watchtower to inform them that she was back - then decides to just freefall into the ocean as she starts to descend, an emerald falling star with a protective field as she splashes down hard, causing a huge splash. Underwater, she has her life-support aura so she doesn't have to worry about breathing as she creates a mermaid tail construct around her legs. She starts idly swimming around, to see the sights - she didn't want to intrude on Atlantis territory so is just looking around on her own.
Poseidon Poseidon decided, today, to change a bit his usual routine. Or, at least, to modify it to keep doing the usual thing but in a different place and way. So, right now, the god of the seas is sitting on an underwater rock, which has been temporarily shaped like a chair by a bit of magic, and from there he's surveying the state of his domain in the immediate vicinity just using the awareness that his status as god of the seas grants him. Of course, breathing underwater is not a problem for him, and that's perhaps one of the reasons for which the man appears relaxed, with his ageless face, his white hair floating behind him, and just a scaled blue armor covering his body.
His peace is, however, interrupted when the water's surface is broken by an object falling at high speeds, and it's thinking of a meteorite or something similar that Poseidon stands from his underwater chair, and propels his body forward, at the maximum speed allowed by his powers which is, definitely fast underwater, to aim for the location where Jessica Cruz decided to divebomb from space and turn into a mermaid. Said mermaid lantern, then, could probably see the water shifting, as if a new current just formed in front of her, then Poseidon standing, peacefully, not far away. And where before there was only the blue color of the ocean's waters.
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz stops short, looking over. She's still fully in her Lantern costume, with the usual glowing eyepatch, a green aura - her legs encased in a construct mermaid tail, and a construct trident forming in her hands. She just looks over at you. "Hello....?" she asks blankly, not knowing who this is - the trident is held in a nonaggressive posture but she seems like she'd know how to use it if necessary. "I'm not intruding in Atlantis territory, am I?"
Poseidon Poseidon returns the look, a hint of amusement temporarily visible on his ageless features as his eyes fall on the trident. Then he parts his lips to speak, yet no water passes through them, and in fact his voice resonates through the water itself in a quite strange way. "not really, you're quite far from there in fact. I was just curious to see what fell from the sky. Welcome, lantern" he says, giving a polite nod of his head
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz nods. "Less 'fell' and more 'orbital dive'. Thought it'd be fun. She shrugs slowly. "May I ask your name?" she asks. "Or whatever code-name you wish to use? Can't hlep but think you seem familiar..." She ponders as the trident disappears as she slowly swims around you. "I've been practicing this since this one time I visited Atlantis' capital on Lantern business. It's surprisingly effective. Didn't want to quite do the whole Little Mermaid thing with the coconut bra- it's a BIT chilly down here for that."
Poseidon Poseidon looks at you for a few more seconds, and his body doesn't seem to move yet he turns in the water to follow your movements, almost as if the water itself was shaping around him to move him around. "Oh, Poseidon. That's both my name and my codename, easy to remember I suppose" he speaks calmly, tilting then his head with a slightly raised eyebrow "little mermaid with the cocoon bra? what?" he asks,
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz shrugs as she murmurs, "Oh wait - it was seashells." She creates a brief construct of Ariel from the Little MErmaid Disney movie. "Just something from a Disney movie." She then tilts her head. "An intersting name. The name of the Greek God of the Seas..." She then hesitates. "Are you claiming to be that deity?"
Poseidon Poseidon's eyebrow keeps raising in confusion "a diswhat movie? oh wait, disney, is that, that movie company or something?" he asks, looks like even trying to live among humans his knowledge is not exactly up to date sometimes! "hmm, I'm exactly that Poseidon, yes..." he states plainly, as if, in fact, claiming to rule over the entire oceans were as average as wearing a scaled armor, or floating in the ocean itself, or getting groceries on sunday.
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz nods. "Exactly. The movie company. Well - everything seems to check out." She then smiles softly. "I've been gone a while and just thought I'd swim a bit - there's not much water on Oa. It's all a super-ultra-mega-metropolis over the whole world."
Poseidon Poseidon nods in understanding "uh, that." he just states about the movies, waving a hand in front of him "well, the oceans always welcome who decides to visit them with peaceful intentions. So, welcome back" he says, with the corners of his lips turning upwards in a start of a smile "are they to your liking after your, visit to oa?" he asks "it's not like I've been there, to be honest, and, well, super-huge-metropolis is not really my average holiday place"
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz nods. "Yeah - it's the homeworld of the Green Lantern Corps. I was doing some more training. Had to go back and ended up staying a little while longer than I thought." She shrugs as she stretches. "It looks like this ocean is in good hands." She smiles as she states, "But I better check on my home - if I left something in the fridge I might need a flamethrower to clean it." She waves. "I'll come visit you again sometime."
Poseidon Poseidon nods again, glancing one more time at you "very well, then, I'll wait for your visit. It's not like you'd not be recognizable, I suppose!" he states, waving his left hand in farewell "be safe, lantern, and, well, check on your fridge before something very evil comes out of it" he chuckles, politely, then just as he appeared he's gone, a ripple in the water preceding his disappearance.
