Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie has told Jean about the woman he would like her to talk to about working as an assistant music teacher, and perhaps more. Alexis has been out to the school a few times after Sam got the Ok from Xavier. He has shown Alexis the place, and that she would fit in well. Now is the time to introduce Jean and Alexis to one another to see if it is going to work out or not. Sam would have set up the meeting between the two, and will sit in on it, unless they ask him not to.
Jean Grey As Sam was the facilitator, and is the main point of contact for Alexis with the school, Jean had no qualms about his participation. It was unusual to bring someone in at any faculty capacity without prior experience at Xavier's, but Jean has heard good things, and Sam did seem to have a full trust in Alexis.

As can be expected, Jean is promptly in her office for the meeting, light refreshment is served with tea and water.
Alexis Carr     And Alexis was almost a nervous wreck. The short young woman had changed into a smart blouse and slacks. She had proper shoes on. Her dark hair was pulled back into a bun and a few flyaways clipped with a barrette beneath. And of course she would welcome Sam -- otherwise she might not have shown up at all.

She's clearly nervous when she walks in, her ears are pink, Her heart is racing, but she was carrying herself with grace and poise, just as if she had a stack of books on her head.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie is a little nervous perhaps, but he covers it well. They do teach how to handle stressful things like sentinel attacks, evil mutant alien invasion and such. He will hold Alexis's hand in his to try to help give her support as they walk in. "Thank you for finding the time to meet Alexis. "Jean Grey, this is Allegra Caradenza, known by most around the school as Alexis." He will give Alexis's hand a soft squeeze.
Jean Grey Jean is dressed casually enough, black slacks, a green blouse, and her hair is gathered in a pony tail. "You recommended her, of course I would take the time to meet her at the very least!"

Jean motions at the chairs before her desk, "please have a seat, help yourself to water, tea or some cookies if you like. Let's start things simple, I'm Jean Grey, Headmistress of the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. What can you tell me about yourself, Alexis?"
Alexis Carr     Allegra Caradenza. Daughter of Filipe Caradenza, an outspoken member of an Italian anti-mutant inclusion group. Officially listed as a damaged shut in whose mental break during a performance her father blamed on mutants.

    Reality was much less entertaining.

"Well, officially Alexis Carr is my cover, since... my father's very much anti-mutant." she explains quietly, extending a hand to shake Jean's a moment before she sits down.

"Performing arts-wise, I studied at my maternal grandmother's academy, the St. Cecilia Conservitory for Gifted Artists, accepted at the age of six for violin and piano and trained in their operatic program and attained recognition for Best Young Sopprano in Europe, and performed in several instances with the North London Ballet company.I aided teaching a Violinist's Master Class out of St. Cecilia's at the age of fourteen over a period of four months." Allegra gives a slight smile, "So while my teaching experience with music is admittedly limited, I have also taught guitar, violin, and piano privately in Bushwick and surrounding neighborhoods in Brooklyn, as well as through one of the St. Margaret's Outreach programs for at-risk Teens... mostly in group lessons." she explains, and purses her lips a moment, curling her fingers. "I speak Italian and French fluently, studied Ballet for over a decade and attained rank 3 at my school, and have also studied fencing... mostly foil and saber." she breathes out, listing accomplishments and bite-sized facts. Her ears are now orange around the ridges.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie will look over to Alexis giving her a thumbs up, and trying to give her what support he can while letting her stand on her ow as well. He will add in. She has also been helping those in need at the shelter in town, and has had a few run ins with some goons in town and she and ah dealt with them, and either ran them out of the area, or got them to the police, depending on the situation and then need for legal involvement.
Jean Grey "Some uneducated, or worse, badly educated people are anti-mutant. Much like people can be anti anything, we're just a popular thing to be against," Jean muses, apparently not about to hold the opinions of Alexis' father against her.

Shaking hands with Alexis, Jean's grip is firm, but not overpowering, a habit forming of the various meeting with city officials and board of education members she's had to conduct in the capacity of her role. "Sounds like there's quite a bit you could offer, even if in a teacher assistant role to start, and then we can measure how you feel from there. Does that sound acceptable to you? As a member of faculty you are welcome to room and board at the Mansion grounds, we have a teacher's dorms section, northern hall of the 2nd floor. I reside there myself."

Jean thinks for a moment, and then adds, "what is it you wish to accomplish by joining this school's staff?"
Alexis Carr     "I want to help." Is Allegra's immediate response. "The fact that this academy is open to mutants to give a refuge from a world that might consider us dangerous is a Godsend. My grandmother kept her academy open for any student who showed enough promise or willingness to dedicate themselves to learning the crafts." she replies. "I want to help others to learn that they are not alone, and that there is a place where they are welcome," her smile turns morose, her eyes casting down a moment as she curls her fingers against her slacks "... and where they are wanted."

5TAnd she looks to Sam, and gives a little bit of a smile.

"That was a hard lesson for me to learn on my own."

Turning back to Jean, she leans back a moment. "I am greatly appreciative of the room and board and will happily take up residence on the school grounds." she replies.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie smiles and will reach over to give Alexis' hand a squeeze again as she comments about the hard lesson, but he tries to keep professional and let her as well. He will look over and says "Will be a cat coming with her, so may need to let lockheed and some others know." He will look to Jean, and says "Ah believe she will do an excellent job, and will be a very good addition to the faculty.
