Owner Pose
Karen Starr It was still strange to be here, back on the Watchtower after the loss of Superman, but still there was duties to be performed and people that needed to be protected. She was back on the station, but having moved off monitor duty the Kryptonian woman wrapped in her striking white costume. Left sitting in the space of green, the blonde was doing just that...sitting and staring at the collection of mixed plantlife, lost in thought.
Jessica Cruz A green glow can be seen as Jessica Cruz, the 1324th human Green Lantern (more or less) arrives on the arboretum, wearing her full Lantern uniform complete with decorative eye-patch. It's not just Terran plants in here - there are some exotics from other worlds. She then sees the mighty Power Girl just sitting there. She walks over, smiling. "Hiya! I'm back! I should've called ahead, but J'onn was on duty and just passed me in."
Karen Starr For someone with Kryptonian hearing, it was rather suprising that she didn't seem to notice Jessica's approach until she was speaking. Giving a little blink, Power Girl turns her head. "Jessica...I didn't realise you were back. It felt like J'onn and I were the only ones up here for this shift for a while..."
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz nods. "Yeah - good to see you too, Karen." She stretches. "I love this place - it's so peaceful. Part of the reason why a lot of my constructs are plants. When I was just starting being a Lantern - a real one that is - Superman gave me a few pep talks." She then looks over at you. "You look... sad. Is everything okay? I literally just aboard."
Karen Starr A frown crosses those fine features, the blonde woman turns to face the lantern while her lips part in suprise. She's left to sort of stare for a moment, blinking slowly before her gaze falls. "Jessica...Kal is gone. He was laid to rest a couple months ago." Certainly it wasn't the first time Superman was thought dead but...well, the blonde looked suitably convinced.
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz just stares at you, wide-eyed. "No... that's... that's not possible. He's Superman..." She just sinks to her knees, bowing her head. "Who... who could have done such a thing? He was like indestructible... the hero of the whole world..." She just shakes her head.
Karen Starr What answer could Power Girl really offer? The same problematic thoughts do still come through the woman's own mind after all. With no words, no comments or advice to offer further, Karen simply lowers down to her own knees and wraps her arms around the young lantern. She wouldn't say more, but the press of her form and the hugging was all she could really manage.
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz just wraps her arms around Karen and sighs softly. This is too somber of a moment for words as Jessica's aura vanishes altogether. Nothing could really be said - her voice is choked up as she just returns said embrace.
Karen Starr It would likely be a while before Jessica was released, but eventually it would come to pass. Moving to remain with herself sitting down on the floor of the Arboretum, pulling her knees to her chest and exhaling a breath. "We are still keeping things moving, protecting people and carrying on. Things will be...okay."
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz sighs softly. "I'll need some time to process this - it's old news for you guys but it still seems... raw... with you. You were blood-kin so..." She shakes her head. "I will leave you be." She rises and slowly walks to a more isolated corner of the arboretum. She lacks the willpower to do anything right now with her ring.
Karen Starr "I understand," PG comments, giving a little soft exhale of breath and then turning to look towards Jessica. Still technically resting laying on the ground, the Kryptonian watches for a moment before clearing her throat. "But still...stay a while if you like. Company is good. Being alone to deal with all of this just...hurts a bit too much."
Jessica Cruz Jessica Cruz turns back. "I will. Let me just... meditate and gaze upon the Earth while with these plants." She smiles sadly and returns to an isolated corner to just sit among the plants and observe the earth.
