Owner Pose
Indiana Jones Indy stretched slightly as his eyes blinked a few times. He was aware of both cold and warmth. The cold was the air...the temperature had dropped a few degrees. No sign of turbulence...they must be past the storm system on the west coast of the U.S.
The warmth was something different, and he spotted it immediately. Cindy Moon was unbuckled from her jump seat, her body pressed up against his. She had one hand placed around his waist, the other resting on the back of his hand...which had been resting on Cndy's thigh.
For a few minutes, he did nothing but look at Cindy as she slept. She seemed...at peace, as if sleeping like this was very comfortable. Where he had felt a crick in his neck from his sleeping position. His hand on her thigh...
He had been impressed by Cindy Moon. As a student, she had been quick, alert, always asking questions. She was smart...and, judging by the costume that was probably in one of her bags, had gifts he could scarcely imagine. He tended to ignore the capes-and-tights people, because they seldom interacted. But that had changed.

In the end, he had to admit that she could be very helpful. She was also very lovely, but...how would she react to her sleeping like this...?
Cindy Moon Cindy felt movement beyond the normal jostling of the plane. And something more...a prickle up her spine. She was instantly awake, and she stayed stock still until she figured out what her senses were telling her. It didn't take long.

Where Indy had fallen asleep sitting up, head down, she had moved during her sleep. She remembered being cold....And now she is not. She blinks a few times surveying the damage. She is draped across him, where she rooted in for warmth. Her arm is wrapped around him. His hand is on...Holy crap! She doesn't move much, but instead turns her head just enough that she can look up at him sheepishly. "I-I think I got cold..." She doesn't hastily disentwine. Rather she moves slowly to sit up. To do otherwise would imply guilt. "Uh...did you sleep okay?" What elephant? What room?
Indiana Jones Dr. Jones smiled wryly at Cindy. "Like a brick. I see you slept well, too. How do you feel, Cindy?"
"Cindy." Not "Miss Moon" anymore. He does not move from where he is, and his smile is wry but warm. If there is any part of him that does not approve, she can't see it.
Cindy Moon Had he ever just called her Cindy before? Not that she can remember. "I slept well. I read my books." She nudges the stack of them on the floor with the toe of her boot. "So I'm all Chinesed up and ready to go."

She is still leaning against him. Warmth is hard to give up, especially when slumber is so freshly relinquished. "I might have missed the four hour mark..."
Indiana Jones Indy nods. Well...not much to be done about that. He looked into those brown eyes, then raises a hand...
...only to see that her palm is still attached to the back of his hand, as if glued there. "Uhm...is this one of those things you were going to tell me about?"
Cindy Moon "Oh!" Cindy releases his hand, and pulls back her own. "I'm...I'm sticky. I mean not like STICKY, but...it's...it's like...static. It enables me to climb walls. Crawl on ceilings. Um...stick...to things." She shrugs a little. "I have a few little...quirks. And that is one of 'em."
Indiana Jones Indy tilts his head. "Okay...like Spider-Man. And it works for any surface?" He chuckles. "That must come in handy." He flexes his hand. No ill effects. "So...explain these other 'quirks?'"
Cindy Moon "Pretty much anything," Cindy replies. "I haven't found anything yet that doesn't work. But...hmm...Other skills. I am stronger than people who aren't....me. I can lift a few tons, easy. I think five tons is my biggest lift, so far. But I'm more speed than strength," she explains. "Like...highway speed, without the car."
Indiana Jones Indy blinks. Five TONS? Damn, THAT would have come in handy a few times. Climbing sheer walls...she's going to be a BIG help.
"And you can handle yourself in a fight, I can see. That's going to come in handy more often than you might think. Any other special abilities?"
Cindy Moon "Other than what you've seen?" Cindy thinks for a moment. "I have an Eidetic memory," she offers. She nods down toward the books on the floor. "I'm pretty much fluent, now. I have stamina that goes for hours even if I'm fighting or lifting, or running. I'm bendy, and I can probably eat more than you can." She nods.
Indiana Jones Indy nods thoughtfully. "Ohhhkay. That can also come in handy. But be warned..." He points to his duffel bag. "I packed some of the MREs while at the base. No idea how often we may eat, or if." He pauses. "So...you eat more because you make that spidersilk stuff, right?"
Cindy Moon Cindy nods, but shrugs. "I have a month's supply of protein bars in my weekender," she says. "Plus these," she pats her crossbody satchel. "So even at constant maximum effort, I have enough for two weeks. They aren't yummy, but I'm always eating, so they're my best option. Whether or not you like 'em, I have enough food to keep us both alive, and keep my silk flowin'."
Indiana Jones Indy nods. "Rather ironic we are traveling to the endpoint of the Silk Road."
He doesn't move from his position next to Cindy, and she realizes his hand is again resting where it was before, on her thigh.
"All right. Here's what I have set up. After we land in Seoul, we'll hop another plane to Shanghai. From there, I've arranged for a Land Rover to drive to Taiyuan. We can't risk going to Beijing, not with their added security. We re-supply there, then head to Linfen. From there, we can find out the exact location of Jingjiazhuang."
Cindy Moon Cindy, well aware of their position, looks up at him. "If you don't know where it is, and they sorta...moved it...how will we find it? Do you know of someone who will tell us? Or am I gonna have to bust some kneecaps?"
Indiana Jones Indy chuckles. "Let's not antagonize the Chinese Army just yet. If there is one thing about China that was also true of Russia, is that they LOVE their paperwork. If the site was excavated, I'm betting they will keep copious documents on everything. The trick will be finding it." He looksed down to Cindy's face. "Do you have any qualms about doing a little breaking-and-entering, if the need arises?"
Cindy Moon Cindy grins and wiggles excitedly. "Are you kidding? I was MADE for breaking and entering!" It is one thing Cindy has in common with every lapdog, ever: she wears her emotions on her sleeve. When she's excited, she just can't hide it.
Indiana Jones Indy nods. "Now, you might get some flak. The practice of xianhan has gone down drastically, but there still might be some anti-Korean feelings in the rural areas. For right now, do you have any issue with me identifying you as my assistant if anyone asks?"
Cindy Moon "Not at all. I'm here to help you, and anything that helps me, helps us both. Tell them whatever you want, I'll be find with it." She nods and shrugs. "If the chips are really down, I won't be identifiable, anyway. You know that as well as I do"
Indiana Jones Indy nods. "We are putting together a public persona. Not a secret identity as such, but if you fit a stereotype, then people tend to think of you as that stereotype. It's easier for them that studying you or remembering anything about you. If they have to report anything about you, they will fall back on the stereotype instead of what is real. So, if anyone asks, they will describe Stupid American and Stupid Korean, not the real us."
Cindy Moon "Oooh," Cindy coos in a conspiratory manner. "It's like disguises, only it's really us. Like hiding in plain sight!" She is starting to love this whole idea, and it shows. "You're good at this. No wonder you've been so successful. I don't think most people have the common sense to pull it off..."
Indiana Jones Indy smiles that familiar roguish smile. "When you've been doing it since the 1930's, you get pretty good at certain things. Like reading people. Being mentally ready for various situations." The smile then slips and he becomes serious. "Just stay relaxed, but ready to move if necessary." He appraises her current wear. "You will need heavier clothing when we leave Seoul. It's roughly 42 degrees there right now..."
Cindy Moon Cindy takes a deep breath and nods. This is really happening. She never would have believed it was possible, 24 hours ago.

"I can do that. Coat in my suitcase, other clothes as needed. I think...I think I have everything I need."
Indiana Jones Indy relaxes slightly. "We still have about three hours before we land in Seoul...best to just...relax. Everything works out, we find out where the next link in the discovery chain is, then remove it. Then, we get out of China, and anyone trying to find the link will dead-end there. And with a little more luck...no one will know we were ever *in* China."
