Jubilee	Jubilee had been practically in hiding since before Christmas. It wasn't that she didn't want to socialize...more that she did not have time. The whole "writing across the curriculum" thing was kicking her tush. Because assigning writing to gymnastics students means reading essays written by gymnastics students. And Jubilee is up to her eyeballs in essays. So today, she has found herself a place out on the grounds of Xavier's to enjoy one of the warmer days they have had lately. She is sitting on a bench in jeans, boots, and a plaid flannel shirt, eating an apple, reading assignments, and looking frazzled.
J'onn	J'onn had a nice talk with one of his favourite students today, then visited the watchtower even if under a different guise, and now is back at Xaviers mostly to just enjoy the sights and the atmosphere of the place now that it isn't full of stressed students. Shapeshifted as he is as John Green, Xavier's science teacher, he presents himself as the tall man looking to be in his early thirties or late twenties, with short black hair in a professional cut, kind and smart blue eyes, and wearing a blue suit that couldn't be more impeccable, with not a single fold out of place! And so it is that he walks, outside the mansion, almost aimlessly walking through the school grounds, right in Jubilee's direction!
Jubilee	Jubilee, constantly alert, lifts her head as she becomes aware of J'onn's presence. Once she sees him, J'onn has her attention. Jubilee lifts a hand to wave, and she smiles. "Good afternoon! Surprised to see you around here on the break!"
J'onn	J'onn smiles at Jubilee as soon as he identifies her, visually at least! "good morning to you as well! Well, had some papers to see, some to grade, and some to write, all for the school... So thought I'd stop by again!" he states, gesturing towards the empty part of the bench "can I?" he asks, waiting there, standing in front of Jubilee, for an answer. "what about you? Here to work I see?"
Jubilee	"Of course!" Jubilee gathers her papers and slides down a little. "Please. Sit! Did you have a good holiday, Mr. Green?"
J'onn	J'onn smiles, taking a seat on the bench close to Jubilee "as good as it could be, thanks. What about you?" he asks, turning to aim a smile at the woman, leaning then his back on the backrest of the bench, and extending his legs slightly in a relaxed posture
Jubilee	"It was quiet. I don't exactly have family, but I put up a little Christmas tree for myself in my cabin, and I have been working on a jigsaw puzzle. And a new box of fudgecicles." Jubilee smiles as she lays the papers down and fidgets with the bottom of her shirt, tugging at a button. "Did you spend time with friends?"
J'onn	J'onn hmms, thoughtfully, probably considering her question "not really..." he admits "I, worked, during christmas, actually..." he adds, but smiles nonetheless "but I am very glad you got to enjoy your holidays!" he adds to that, still smiling at Jubilee, almost finding her doings sort of cute
Jubilee	"Oooh, I see. Sounds like you at least kept busy! " She grins up at him and rakes her long dark hair back as she tilts her head. "Did ya get any giifts? Eat any good food?"
J'onn	J'onn looks directly at the girl, still smiling as he tries to think of an answer that wouldn't seem like he were from another planet entirely! "well sort of! I mean yes I had some decent food, and yes, got a couple of gifts! But nothing super, well, gifty, and no banquets..." he states, "what about you?"
Jubilee	"I didn't get any gifts...but umm..." Jubilee pilfers through a black tote bag that holds her belongings and books, and she pulls out a small, irregularly-shaped item, wrapped in colorful paper, with a partially-smashed bow on top. "I had something for you. In case I saw you over break. It isn't much. Sorry...the bow got mushed."
J'onn	J'onn smiles to the girl and extends his right hand to collect the gift "you're the sweetest! Now I feel guilty for not getting you anything, yet..." he states, examining the package and actually trying to not use his various senses to understand the content! Before unwrapping, at least, which he does right now
Jubilee	"Oh, it isn't much," Jubilee replies quickly, as he unwraps the gift. Inside there is a clear half-sphere that looks like water or glass. It contains a red flower, suspended in the center. The flower is shaped like a small ball, with many brightly colored petals. "It's one of my scarlet begonias...I grew it in my window box and preserved it in the resin during the summer. I thought it might help you teach flower structure...and maybe hold down your papers on your desk..." Jubilee looks a little sheepish. "I told ya it wasn't a lot."
J'onn	J'onn unwraps the package, and looks at the content, a very bright smile forming on his lips as he realizes what it is! As he looks towards Jubilee, his smile just grows exponentially "that is, umbelievably sweet, in a positive way!" he exclaims. "thanks, Jubilee... It is of great value to me." he received a gift where he wasn't expecting any, and in his eyes at least, it's also a beautyful one! "now I'll have to think of something for you, cause you definitely deserve a gift..."
Jubilee	"Oh, no no...I don't need anything. Honest! I just had a few gifts, for a few people. Things that I thought someone might like to have. I obviously collected them throughout the year and put them back for Christmas! I am just happy being able to share it with you." Jubilee beams, happy that he seems to like the gift. "And I'm also just glad to see you. I...Well I hadn't seen anyone in awhile. I wasn't sure anyone was around through the winter break."
J'onn	J'onn smiles "though a gift is not necessarily something someone needs, but something that shows we are thinking of someone and want to share some material things with them..." he says, still looking at the girl and setting, momentarily, the glass sphere on the bench close to him! "well, I like the atmosphere of this place. To be fair I come and go quite often during the day, though... So sometimes I'm here some others I'm not!"
Jubilee	Jubilee nods, shoveling her essays into her black tote. "It's quite all right, of course. I just didn't have anywhere else to be, and I didn't want to assume anyone else would be around. So I carried the gifts, just in case." She smiles. "I'm glad you're here now, though. It's nice to see you. Easy to see why you're one of the students' favorites here."
J'onn	J'onn chuckles, shaking his head "flatterer! I'm sure it's just because I give them few homeworks" he states, telekinetically grabbing the glass sphere again so that it gently floats in front of him, so that he may look at it again. It again sets down on the bench a moment later, as he again smiles at Jubilee "of course, I am glad you're here as well, Jubilee..."
Jubilee	Jubilee grins and blushes. "Well, my cabin is just out by Breakstone Lake. You're welcome to come by, anytime. I'm usually there in the evenings, and I have cocoa and cookies. If you like chocolate chip or Oreos."
J'onn	She said the magic word! Jubilee said Oreos! ANd J'onn likes oreos in pretty much any form he takes! So the smile he gives her is even wider "well, I would love to stop by there for a hi sometims! The combination of oreos and your wonderful company is definitely a great incentive" he admits "so, I'd definitely be glad to visit you, Jubilee..."
Jubilee	Jubilee brightens. "Oh, I'd love that! Maybe you could help me put together my puzzle, or just sit and watch it snow. Or watch a movie, or...I mean whatever you'd like...." She trails off, watching John move her gift without touching it. "I always thought it would be lovely to have an ability like yours. To be able to move things with your mind. But if I had that, my cabin would look like something out of Disney, with the broom sweeping the floor and dishes washing themselves, and brushes scrubbing things all by themselves."
J'onn	J'onn chuckles, unknown if at how cute Jubilee is, or at the image of a cabin with brooms and all that cleaning itself. He even has to search in his memory for what Disney is! "well, why do you think my office is always clean?" he says, just to remove the focus from the fact he can float things "well, what you do is pretty useful too, you know..." he says, reaching out to try to gently ruffle her hair, not with his mind but with his right hand!
Jubilee	Jubilee giggles as he ruffles her hair. "It'll be useful at midnight for the New Year! Or Chinese New Year. Or the 4th of July." She smoothes her hair down a little and watches John, pulling her feet up onto the edge of the bench. "Wow, you're SO warm!"
J'onn	J'onn would almost answer '36 degrees!' but then he just chooses to smile at Jubilee "hey you are too!" he instead says, just letting out a short laugh at her comment on the utility of her powers "well, true! But I wouldn't want to be on the path of one of those, too... So they may be useful in other occasions too, I'm sure! And I'm also sure that's not your only advantage, hm?" he says with a little wink. After all, he's a telepath even if that's not widely known!
Jubilee	"Well....nooo, I have a few little tricks here and there," Jubilee admits. "But I'm always trying to learn new ones, too." She grins and shrugs. "I like to make myself useful."
J'onn	J'onn chuckles and asks "well isn't that what we all do? I mean trying to always learn new things, and be useful?" he leans backwards on the bench, assuming a slightly more relaxed posture "well, at least in my opinion, you're quite useful already! Being a lovely person is definitely part of that"
Jubilee	Jubilee blushes again, this time profusely. "NOW who's the flatterer?" she asks with a laugh. "There's just too much at stake not to keep trying to get better and more effective. I don't ever want anyone to get hurt if I could have helped to avoid it, y'know?" She curls up tighter against the chill and looks over at John.
J'onn	"not me!" J'onn says with a chuckle "stating the truth, and only the truth..." he says, smiling at the woman and nodding in agreement and approval at her words "and this is noble, and something I do approve and respect." he comments upon the matter, looking back at Jubilee "arn't you freezing, are you?"
Jubilee	"A little," Jubilee admits with a grin. "But it has been worth it to get to talk to you. I was so happy to get to see you. You have no idea!"
J'onn	J'onn smiles and stands up "you're so sweet, Jubilee, but I seriously wouldn't want for you to freeze! Come, lets head inside and drink something warm, shall we?" he inquires, smiling and offering her his right hand
Jubilee	Jubilee smiles and takes his hand, standing up and shouldering her tote. "That sounds fantastic. Let's go. It's pretty out here...but so cold. Let's go inside." Her cheeks flushed or maybe blushing, Jubilee accompanies John inside, to find more warmth...and even warmer company.
