Owner Pose
Kurt Wagner A tree (fake, he couldn't kill a tree) garlands, tinsel, landmines of hanging mistletoe... It's Christmas Eve in a small cabin, in West Chester, close to a lake, which is close to a mansion with a VTOL hangar under the basketball court. Little wrapped packages are under the tree... but there have been others hidden around the house and there has been talk of The Pickle... Oh the wonder of German tradition.

A variety of foods have been worked on in the kitchen, traditional dishes of their homelands, set on the table, cider for them both and even proper glog and wassail... Why?

Kurt loves this time of year, and the cabin is lit by softly pulsing string lights.
Wolfsbane Christmas was a quiet time of the year for Wolfsbane, though there were other reasons to celebrate the holiday beyond the whole concept of giving and receiving gifts. For many, it was still based on religion.

To that effect, while Rahne has spent a little time going to and fro between cabin and mansion, she has not taken part in any of the holiday parties or other general activities, preferring more private, quiet time in her home. She left the decorating of the place up to Kurt; he seemed to enjoy it. The only thing she came by to wonder about was, "Are ye sure ye're no' overdoing it wi' all this?"
Kurt Wagner "No. Not at all. It's special, it's fun... The cleanup is easy with me." Kurt bounces across the room, quite literally, pausing long enough to dot a kiss to Rahne's cheek, "I got the fish and chips you like from that one place near Mutant Town too, little appetizer!" speaking excitedly. "I figure it won't be hard, but there's little prizes for you as well!" taking a drink of glog before nabbing a bit of black pudding and tucking it in his mouth.
Wolfsbane Cleaning up? Well, that much /is/ true when there's a teleporter around. The smooch is barely even attempted to be ducked away from. Seems she's grown more comfortable with these random acts of affection, especially since the overseas trip. "Och, tha's a good place, for this side o' th' ocean," she admits, fingers intertwining with themselves as she sniffs back toward the kitchen. The television is off, phones shut down. Nothing short of an explosion outside the cabin ought to bother them.
Kurt Wagner "I know, you talk about it a lot - so I figured I'd add it to the Christmas meal." Kurt is a ball of energy now, and apparently the only way he can handle it is to flying flop onto the big ol couch he got in here...

No. That's not enough. He is up and building the fire up again.

"Darling would you like to open one? We don't have to wait for midnight, ya? Und you still have to find the pickle."

Glass pickles.

Weird.
Wolfsbane Wolfsbane says, "I'm just still no' all tha' used tae whit ye all do for Christmas. All o' this was banned in Scotland for a long while, an' only maybe seventy-five years ago did it become allowed. Most o' whit we do is based on th' English an' American traditions, but /he/ never allowed even tha' much in his home."

She sounds more than a little miffed by this, adding, "So I'm still learning wi' each new year as well. I dinna understand th' whole pickle thing, either." There is a good amount of shortbread set out in the kitchen area, which is one thing she's learned of Scottish traditions. "Aye, then ye can' open one. I'll let ye pick." She's come over to the couch in a more conventional way, standing before him while squinting at his acrobatics.
Kurt Wagner Beaming and waggling his brows at her, Kurt grins and moves to the tree to pick out a parcel before looking over his shoulder, "You need to pick one too!" a small one lifted by his tail and held as he stands, watching what she'll do. His already glowing eyes practically shining as he moves to sit down on the couch with his package, waiting for her to select one of hers.
Wolfsbane "Aye, I guess we'd better both do it," Rahne says with a nod, and since she hasn't sat down yet it's easier for her to go grab a medium-sized box. That'll do, she decides, holding it up before approaching the couch again, this time to have a seat. "I wish I could say I felt like a wee child on Christmas morning again, but.." She shrugs and offers him a fleeting smile before nodding for him to go first. Inside is a fancy-looking pocketwatch of gold coloring, possibly even gold-plated, the gears and inner workings visible:

Kurt Wagner He blinks and is quiet as he sees the watch. Brows up tail flicking to and fro, "Oh... Oh Rahne..." he looks up and to her, lower lip quivering a moment, "It's..." he swallows and moves without letting hesitation get in the way. Tail about her shoulders and one hand up to cup Rahne's cheek - Kurt presses his lips to hers, a gentle motion with a low purr in his throat as he nuzzles there, brushing his nose over her own as well.
Wolfsbane "It was just a wee little something an'.." Wolfsbane starts to explain why it isn't anything magnificent, but the elf's reaction, both in tail and facial expression, then the way he's moving closer to express his appreciation..well, she eases into the kiss, a rubbing of noses returned along with a little smile. "I didna know ye liked watches tha' much."
Kurt Wagner Resting his brow against hers, eyes lidded, Kurt smiles and brushes his thumb across her cheek, "It's because it's a gorgeous watch... It's... just so intricate and beautiful." he steals another small peck, holding the watch to his chest as he expresses his thanks, pressing his cheek to hers, letting his fuzz brush through her own. "Thank you Rahne,.." finally sitting back to give her room for her own present.
Wolfsbane "I'm glad ye think so," Wolfsbane smiles, the thumb along her cheek drawing a faint, quiet 'rrr' from the back of her throat. "Ye could wear a nice suit an' look all sophisticated wi' tha' tucked intae a front pocket," she points out, a brief nuzzle again returned before she goes about opening hers, using the tip of a claw to slice carefully along tape lines first.
Kurt Wagner Once open there is a smell of clean, dyed, wool that someone with Rahne's olfactory could pick up. Inside the colors are bright, authentic, and the wool clearly not some cotton blend, but the real thing. A full kilt, in thick heavy tartan wool. On her it would easily reach knees or maybe a bit lower and the over shoulder wraps include a gold pin ring - with etchings of the Sinclair family. https://www.lochcarron.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/c/t/ctst-sin-a-sinclair-red-ancient-strome-tartan-front-72dpi-rgb.jpg
Wolfsbane The scent is definitely a familiar one, but a lot of things could be made of wool. The colors immediately tell Wolfsbane more about what she's seeing, and as she pulls the kilt out it shows just what she may have suspected. "Och, Kurt. It's beautiful." Even the pin ring gets a close inspection as she looks over all the details. It's something she may not have even ever owned before. At least, he's never seen her with one. "I love it. Thank ye." Now it's her turn to lean in for one of those smooches, first cheek, then lips, and she truly looks happy.
Kurt Wagner The kiss from Rahne surprises him - she doesn't often do displays of affection, so it's accepted readily and with enthusiasm when he's kissed. Once they break away there's a long sigh in him. "First Christmas, eh?" brushing his cheek against hers to put a kiss just before her ear before sitting back and leaning into the coach... "Glad we had it, Rahne." Kurt beams, his tail lazily curled around her shoulders still.
Wolfsbane "..no' muh first. I've been around th' ones a' th' mansion before, but I sort o' just lingered," Wolfsbane murmurs, an admission that says she was present and accounted for, but not specifically involved perhaps beyond simple gift-giving. The ear twitches mildly from the proximity of the kiss, and she nods regardless. "An' we've go' more tae open, yet."
Kurt Wagner A laugh and his tail squeezes her shoulders, "I meant ours, Rahne." chuckling. "Our first." leaning to rest his cheek on her shoulder. "Hopefully first of many, jo?" curling against the wolf girl, taking a moment to simply enjoy that. The moment.
Wolfsbane Warmth rushes to Wolfsbane's cheeks and ears, a sign of embarassment at her misreading what he said. "..och, aye. Aye, our first. I knew tha'." She did not. The wolfen mutant leans back, letting the rest of the presents sit untouched until later on. "Best we be eating some food soon, I'm thinking." And, of course, looking for the pickle.
