Owner Pose
Fiona Glenanne The thudding f sneakers is heard as there's a figure running full pelt down the sidewalk in that crazy 'I gotta run from psychos' look. It's not Fiona. It's not Fiona. She's got herself a tranquilizer pistol, and it's in her jacket. She's got her paperwork up to date and she's sort of....lping around. Fi's got legs. She's showing them off in jeans, and her usual clothing, too. The guy she's been tasked to hunt is in sneakers and jean shorts, ankle socks and a too small jacket. Fi's not after him for crimes against fashion. More he owes people money. Fi got told to bring him in. Alive. If possible. He's charging down the sidewalk, head down as Fiona's loping after him. She's not going to hit him over the head or shoot him. Maybe she can talk him into surrendreing?
Mary Marvel Someone's been watching too many movies. WHO steals a city BUS?
Well, these bank robbers, unfortunately. Hoping to sneak away in a vehicle that would use urban "camouflage" to get away. Only they picked the wrong avenue to do this, and the wrong bus. One Mary Batson had been planning to take.
One alley, one "SHAZAM," and one flight later, and Mary Marvel is getting ready to stop this chase before things got too dangerous.

Monty was making good time, he thought. One long alley, get into the street, and then use the crowd to get awayyyyyy...
His train of thought is suddenly derailed as Fiona spots him just outside the alley on the sidewalk beyond. He's not running. He's just...stopped. Arms hanging limp, head tilted. Standing quite still.
Fiona Glenanne Fiona's watching. She gets it. Oh she's done enough bounty hunting to know what's going on. Poor, poor, Monty. He's tangled with the wrong woman. Fi looks unimpresssed with Monty. She does though jog a little closer. "Look. I just want to talk. That's all. I just want to talk is all" she calls. "You pay your money, I don't have to drag you back to Brooklyn over my shoulder" she says, watching everything as Fi's got her hands on her hips, waiting.
Mary Marvel Monty doesn't seem to hear her. Actually, he's not even moving.

When Fiona gets to the end of the alley, she can see what he sees.
It is a city bus. That in itself is not attention-getting. What is making Monty's mouth hang open is the fact that it is beind held aloft. The back end is up in the air, the bus held at an 80-degree angle, the front of the bus held about five feet from the ground.
And it is held up by a woman in a red tunic/ike dress, with a gold belt and a wide lightning-bolt symbol on her chest that glows with light.

She is holding up a bus. And talking to the two occupants. "Now...are you going to give up, or do I have to shake you like I'm making a martini. DEFINITELY shaken, NOT stirred!"
Fiona Glenanne Fiona slides to a halt. Okay. That's new. She joins Monty in silent 'what the eff' mode. A city bus. Held off the ground. Fiona's pretty sure she didn't put anything in her coffee. Mmm, check the pipes at home? Or....just accept this is real.

She looks to Monty. "C'mon. I'm just as lost as you are...difference is I didn't skip out on my debts" Fi nods, "I'm willing to forget about it if you can explainw hat's going on?" Fi adds, wondering if Oracle needs to know about this. Or the Shadow? It's not her getting in trouble. Thankfully. But hey she's trying to figure out what's going on.
Mary Marvel Then the bus door opens and a duffel bag and two rifles drop out, clattering on the ground. The young brunette in the flashy costume steps forward, kicking them towards the wall near Fiona and Monty.
She gently lowers the bus back to the street, the shocks sagging slightly as the tires suddenly support the weight of the bus again. Then two VERY shaky-looking crooks stumble out onto the street, then go immediately to their knees. After a few seconds more, two uniformed police officers run over to cuff them as the woman strolls over towards Fiona and Monty, smiling warmly.
"Excitement's all over, sir...ma'am." She reaches down to pick up the rifles by the barrels, holding one between a finger and thumb on both hands, then walks towards the cops, leaving the duffel bag behind.
Fiona Glenanne Fiona raises an eyebrow at the rifles and officers. "You know you're getting prints on them, right?" Fi asks, Monty just staring. "C'mon Monty" Fi says. "Close your mouth, you'll be eating flies. That's /not/ how Spider-Man was created. or are you secretly pest controll for the city? Damn they cut costs by hiring people without uniforms"

Fi's got jokes, it seems...

She looks to Mary then the crooks and officers. She's watching the duffel bag, and as Monty makes a move for it, Fi has her foot out. Monty faceplants, Fi's sure she heard a crunch of something, though that may just have been dirt and gravel and bits of sidewalk. Or, bits of poor Monty. Makes her job easier. She's got a hand on Monty's arm going to help him up, too. Bounty hunt's forgotten for now.
Mary Marvel The woman hands the rifles to a police officer, then walks back to the duffel bag. She looks intrigued by Fiona manhandling Monty. "Is he some kind of criminal, ma'am?" she asks quizzically. She reaches down to pick up the duffel bag.
Fiona Glenanne Fiona shakes her head. "Oh no, no. I was helping him up and bringing him home" Fi offers. "I'm a bounty hunter actually, I was paid to capture him" Fi shrugs, "I'm trying to talk him into coming with me" Fiona adds looking unimpressed to poor Monty, then to Mary and the officers. Sure, Fiona's short, but she's fiery. Very, very fiery.
Mary Marvel The woman's eyes go round with amazement. Congrats, Fiona, you amazed a superheroine. "That is so COOL...!" She smiles, then extends her right hand, the bag in her left. "I'm Mary Marvel. Pleased to meet you!"
Fiona Glenanne Fi's amazed a superheroine? Score! She shakes the hand, "Fiona Glenanne" she nods. "So I'm helping Monty here with a problem. I don't really want to bring him back to the people who paid me to find him. If I'd just be killing him, and I'm not okay with that. I'd rather just give the money back and pay them for it" Fi nods to Mary. "You see my problem?" she adds and cocks her head a little.
Mary Marvel Mary ohs, then looks at Monty. "Monty...I would advise you find whatever money you took and bring it back. I'm going to give you the time it takes me to bring this to the police and come back. If you don't...them I'm going to walk you back to your home. I'm going to be friendly and warm as I tell anyone willing to listen about how HELPFUL you are, and how you tell me SO MUCH about what's going on, the help me catch bad guys. In fact...they'll probably think you are...what do they call them? Oh, yes...an INFORMANT." She giggles, then says, "Be right back!" as she heads over to the cops.
Fiona Glenanne Fi nudges Monty, "Get running" she mutters with a nod to Mary. She understands it, and nudges Monty again...while looking to Mary. Fi's not moving any, she's more interested for talking to Mary, honestly.
Mary Marvel Monty, never a wiz kid, somehow seems to get the message, and by the time Mary turns around, Fiona is alone. She purses her lips as she walks back to Fiona. "Is he gone? Hmm...pity." She shrugs. "Well, Miss Glenanne, I still hope you are making a good living doing this sort of thing. Usually I think bounty hunters are big, burly guys. Like Dog the Bounty Hunter. But I'm going to assume you know what you're doing." She smiles wryly. "So, are you off the clock? Or do you even HAVE a clock."
Fiona Glenanne Fi laughs, "I'm off the clock, now he ran off. Not my problem" Fi shrugs and looks to Mary, "You off the clock as well or...?" she adds, watching, looking over Mary. Though given Fi's short, that's not too intimidating.

"Ah I make a good enough living, really"

Yeah not mentioning her other job, that's not exactly smart, so she's sticking to bounty hunting. "Makes a good living ya know, got an apartment in Empire City, top floor of the building" Fi nods, "What about you?"
Mary Marvel Mary smiles. "I don't really have a clock." She has a curfew, but that's not the same thing. As for where I live..." She leans closer. "...Can you keep a secret?"
Fiona Glenanne "Yeah" Fi offers with a nod to Mary, "I can definitely keep secrets"

Oh that's true, she's been keeping secrets for a long while, like, years and years. She looks over with a smile. "What's the secret then?" Fi nods, sitting on the ground. She went from short. TO shorter....somehow. some way she's shorter than five feet three. Thank you, ground.
Mary Marvel Mary grins. "Great! I can, too!"
Ba-dumm, tssshhh.
"Seriously, I really can't say. I can say it's in New York City, but that's as far as I can go." She sits down on the pavement next to Fiona. She pauses, then says in flawless Gaelic, <Are you from Ireland?>
Fiona Glenanne Okay. That catches Fi off guard. "Yes" she replies in flawless Gaelic. "You know my language? I'm impressed" she carries on, "How'd you know it? And what gave away my Irish roots? Heritage? Hair? Name, or...?" she asks, curious now. And woried, too. If this girl can figure it out, great, great....
Mary Marvel Mary dimple-grins. "Well, your name is a very flowery Irish, and you have the slightest of accents. It seemed like a good gamble. 'Mary Marvel' is alliterative, so I have that. And I can speak all languages, actually. Even alien ones."
She looks around. "I don't think they need me to do any more stuff. They're even going to drive the bus away. There is a Cold Stone Creamery about four blocks down. Want ice cream?"
Fiona Glenanne Fi nods "Yes please" she says switching to English. "I'm all for free ice cream. You know a lot about the area, so tell me, what's around here?" she nods getting to her feet. All five three of short, hungry for ice cream. She's quite content to settle into a gait with Mary. "You like ice cream then?" she asks, gearing up to ask 1000 questions for 1000 toppings
Mary Marvel Mary cannot hide the innocent smile. "Oh, yes. In fact..." She looks around. "It is four blocks away. Would you like me to take you there?" She looks encouraged by the thought.
Fiona Glenanne Fi grins, "Of course, Let's get walking. Four blocks is nothing" Fi adds with a wry grin. Fiona's fine with strolling four blocks. Ice cream is its own reward. "So. Favorite flavor?" she inquires, looking to Mary, looking from Mary to the sidewalk then back to Mary again. She's got way more questions, too. But one at a time.
Mary Marvel She said yes. She knows it.
Suddenly, Fiona is picked up, finding herself nestled in Mary's supple, yet strong arms. They *did* pick up a city bus, after all.
She grinned. "Hang on!" And then they are soaring through the air above the city streetlights, roughly 50 feet above the street. "This is MUCH simpler!"
Fiona Glenanne Fiona can't help but scream in pleasure at the flight. That's fun, see, she's used to portals and things. But flight? Actual honest flight? Sweet! "So" Fi calls, "This is how we get around the city in style huh? How come nobody's seeing us?" she wonders aloud, looking around.
Mary Marvel Mary chuckles. "Because people don't usually look *up* in New York. Spider-Man swinging overhead, Superman flying through the air? Happens ALL the time. The novelty is pretty much gone."
She's doing a leisurely 30 MPH, swaying between the skyscrapers as she cruises along, white and gold cape flapping in the wind.
Fiona Glenanne Fi's thinking if she's at ground level, she'll think to look up. At least, in theory. She's settled into this flight, because, it's keep a hold on Mary, or become street splattered pizza. Fiona's looking forward to ice cream. Mostly because again, it's her reward for this. The flight's not bae, either!
Mary Marvel About one minute later, mary gracefully descends to the sidewalk, and then Fiona feels her feet touch solid ground again, And Mary steps back with a warm smile, saying, "I hope you enjoyed the flight. I..." She pauses and stops. "I...don't have my purse with me. It's okay! I can go get it. It'll just take a second!"
And before Fiona can say anything, Mary is suddenly gone...and then returns 9/10ths of a second later, holding up a 20-dollar bill. "Had to go home to get it."
