Pippi     It might come as no surprise that people love their pets. They post photos of them, videos, get little stuffed animals made in their likenesses. They have magnets and use them on their passwords. Pets are a Big deal!

It's further no surprise that when these pets go missing, there's often times notations on community websites.

The following listing shows up roaming its way through the Brooklyn Neighborhoods postings:
    MISSING: DELTA

Missing our 9y/o Poodlebull mix Delta. Red/White, has ID tattoo on ear. May be skittish around strangers, so best not to approach if you see her! If seen, please call 718-555-4887 and ask for Elaine.

WE MISS OUR DELTA VERY MUCH!

And the image attached is, of course, a pitbull-type dog with her tongue sticking out comically, a face bisected roughly in half with 'eyebrow' markings.
Donatello Leaning back in his seat, Donnie's head shaking at some of the images coming up on his many monitors. "Dude, this is some Hearts in Atlantis stuff... Low Men in Yellow Coats all the way." a soft frown on his face, brow knitting beneath his mask. He expects to see moons and stars all around the images. A smiling man in Denim...

Red graffiti of an Eye of Sauron looking thing.

"All hail the crimson king dude..." shaking his head. These are the people that hurt his friend... He starts digging, pulling his aug-reality monocle in place as his fingers fly.
Pippi     The posting's been going around Brooklyn. It spent some time in the Bronx earlier in the year. Moved a bit to Manhattan, even showed up in Gotham in different parts of the year.

The picture's older though. It's a good six years old, showing a dog that certainly didn't look nine years old. The dog in the image is most certainly a regular dog in a candid shot. The fundamental data's been changed on the picture though; the image has been changed enough times that it'd be difficult to track down its original source -- likely Pippi's original family.

Today though it's not surrounded by stars and moons, there are no low cars cruising around. No beam breakers to hide.

Just an image of what was possibly Pippi, the adopted 'little sister' of Clan Hamato, and a link to the people chaisng her.
Donatello "YO! Pip! Total crazy-bake goin' here. I wanna get your OK on something!" The music has stopped in Donnie's room, completely. All business. The Den isn't shaking from the thrub of speakers in a sound proofed room.

Frankly he sounds concerned.
Pippi     ... that wasn't a sound Pippi was used to hearing.

One flour-tipped ear raises from the kitchen, and she purses her lips a moment before she licks a bit of stray peanutbutter from her fingers, and makes her way to the lab, wiping her hands on a dish towel.

"What's up, Donnie?" she questions, making her way over.
Donatello The doors open at her approach and Donnie is typing, scrolling, blink selecting, the full gamut. "Looks like the lab is trying to call you home. I'm offended. I wanted to possibly go in and cause a little mayhem... Or I can back-trace, or try" he continues to tap and frown as he works.

"I expect their using a geometric IP scramble, server bounces, distributed network... works. They'll be trying to keep it so that you need to get within likely a ten meter handshake range for full signal." Donnie grins like the devil.

"But really I'm just looking for trace data interlocks across systems. Borrow some servers for crunching the puzzle pieces. But I want your ok."
Pippi     ". . . . . ."

Pippi listens to what Donatello is saving but somewhere around geometric she sort of glazes over and lets the phrases cross over her like a water, and then when he gets to 'want your okay, she snaps back. And she glances around, as if there'd be someone to translate just what he said to her, and she gives a helpless sort of shrug!

"I have no idea what you just said but I trust you?" she states, looking at the screen. Her head cants. Her ears lift up.

"... maybe I should lay low somewhere else if they're looking for me"
Donatello A slow blink, "I'm sorry... Nerd talk. I'm going to try and look for them." Donnie looks back to Pippi, "Digitally sniff 'em out. I wanted your ok." he smiles still, "Even if they're hunting you, you're safe here. You're family. We have your back. But this kinda creepy stuff... What they're tryin' to do? Well it makes me wanna be a little Raph..."

He looks around, seeking for Leo to come in, thunder and brimstone at Donnie with such a notion. "I'm getting tired of people treating us like lab experiments that got away. I'm tired of not being seen as a person. I'm tired of hiding." looking back to Pip, "I wanna kick a little ass."
Pippi     "... I'm still learning how to *be* a person and not... a pet. Or lab experiment." Pip states, and she plunks down on the ground next to Donatello's seat. She still resorts to the floor as her first choice of place to sit.

"... but... just be careful, Donnie. If they have the ability to make mutants like me... would they have the ability to sniff *you* out? Online, I mean?"
Donatello "That's always a risk, especially if I expect their tracing hits on their lost posters." Donnie nods and looks back to Pippi at that. "There's always a trace chance we could be tracked no matter what, physically, digitally..." The Dark Tower is still in his head,

"If they do we'll send 'em home with a friggin' rupture though..." Good Ol Henry Dean... the great sage and eminent junkie.
Pippi     "Yeah!" Pippi states, and she punches the palm of her left hand with her right. "A friggin' rupture!" she states with enthusiasm. Not a hundred percent sure what it means, but she looks back at the screen.

"Are you gonna call the number on it?" she asks. "It looks like a phone number. Has the right about of lines to it."
Donatello "I could... I could put a link up through a satellite line... Burner line I set up through a NASA backdoor. Can't trace it, too much signal distribution." Donnie leans in his seat, feet hooking around the base so that he can just impulsively try to plant a kiss on the top of the Power Pup's head.

"You're a genius Pip." laughing as he begins setting something up, icons appearing on screen.
Pippi     Pippi would be very, very confused by the kiss on the head. She's still working on that 'hug' thing.

"I am!" she replies agreeably, her tail wagging before she realizes "wait... I am? What--why?" she asks, the tail wagging again as she hops up to her knees instead of her normal 'splut' and takes a better look at the screen.
Donatello "Because who needs to play Follow The Trail, when I can get a door to something at least remotely connected? Let them try to trace and lasso in eh?" engaging a proxy system, Donnie watches the indicators. Typing a few things into a speech system while he awaits the indicator for signal connection.
Pippi     The signal connects! The number is, infact, live, and it goes to (according to the system), an apartment in Brooklyn, and begins to ring.

Pippi's ears go up. She holds her breath a moment, her tail stilling as she gives a soft mumble of "I generally follow trails... easier to not get lost...."
Donatello Disconnecting before the line can answer, Donnie studies the location listed. "That's either a signal bounce, or a trap." the Purp Turp frowns to himself, looking from the screen to Pip. "Lot closer than I expected... We can try and run some surveillance if you want?" looking back again to the digital readouts, "Or should I dig some..." conundrums!
Pippi     "I... think if it's a trap, we're going to want more than just us in on it." Pippi states, rubbing the back of her head. She glances this way and that, and gives a shrug. "At least Leo and Alopex, if not Nemean and Raph too... Mikey... Splinter... Robin... everyone. I dunno what to expect... or even if they have more mutants like me!"
Donatello "That's a good point... I want to kick a little shell. But if they have more, with your strength..." mouth twisting in a line, Donnie shakes his head slightly, bringing up information on the location, the building, its sewer and steam tunnel accesses. Using information as he's able to drag it up. "Plan of attack..."
Pippi     "Right! 'Cause if it's a trap and they're considering my strength? Just imagine when they see everyone. We'll send 'em home with a rupture!" she states from her place on the floor.
