Jua Mandala Another few nights have gone by. And yet DESPITE the massive number of deaths that occurred...there was no caution take surrounding the area, police investigating, or even a hint that anything was wrong in the abandon warehouse. It was for all intents and purposes...untouched.

That would be the first thing Jua would note....nothing was different. Or rather the entirty of it was? The door that had been almost blown off it hinges was back up, old and worn, but up. Not a dent by any means. Opening it was not much harder either...and as he decended...there was no blood or bodies, or trace of the disaster that happened here.
Nick Well, being that Phantasms have enough difficulty with keeping one hitchiker alive, much less three, Nick has been more than willing to cede the travel arrangement responsibilities over to Illyana.

As Morrigan is mainly along to make sure there's nothing CDC level of concern going on the lab, she and Hogarth have split off to look into any signs of potential viral research that may have taken place.

The other two travelers, the phantasm and Illyana are out hunting wabbits. Which here probably means a walrus rabbit hybrid with anger management issues.

While Illyana works the lower end of the room, the purplish black raven that was just here a few days ago flies high, checking for any other loft areas he may have forgotten about.
Illyana Rasputina Wabbit-hunting, and just a little blonde sorceress and her corvid. Nothing to see here. Really, there isn't, because Illyana has the presence of mind to fling a protective shield around herself that obscures her from the view of all but other mystics. That keyed invisibility has its advantages, even if the spell feels a bit slippery in her mind. She clamps down on it with the occasion murmured incantation, something as pure as driven... ivory. Snow is a bit of a stretch.

Invisibility shrouds her under a veil while she carefully walks along the ground in search of unusual, basically anything that doesn't constitute a garden variety spider. Even those are suspect. Warehouses rarely have friendly indoor gardens for nice little garden spiders spinning webs and dreaming about publishing contracts over books and childhood and pigs. One step, two step, a cautious approach is given by the Demon-Queen of Limbo to almost everything. Her gaze trails along walls and furniture, fixtures and floor alike. The occasional crook of her fingers against her leather-bound hip does a fine job - just fine - of keeping her digits ready and limber to haul the threads of dimensional space apart to rip her soul into being, as called on.
Jua Mandala Well...the hunting was turning up ZIP. NADDA. NOTHING. If Phantasm phased through a certain wall (Spiger kill) he wouldn't even find traces of that! The lab...was no longer a lab. No tubes, or glass, or equipment. Just crates, boxes, and junk. Maybe the occasional normal rat...but that is it.

The same was true of Illyana. Nothing that had been described to her priorly or sketched out was present. The entire story may as well have been fabricated.

But wait! He very careful search picks up on something. An owl feather.

As for Jua, when he makes it back to what should have been the lab, and saw it was nothing, he snorts and kicks a wooden crate clear across the room smashing agaist a wall. He was mad because he KNOWS what he saw!
Nick While he could change his visibilty, the phantasm does not have any protective shield spells. But with the nature of his abilities, how he's already described himself, and that they need to find any leftover critters who may have been hiding the first time around, bai- *ahem* DISTRACTIONS work better when they are seen. Especially when they look like a tempting birdy dinner to any creatures that may be feeling a bit peckish.

So fly birdy fly!

The flight is short lived as the room Nick had described turns out not to be the way he left it. The bird stops mid-air. Head poking around before looking over towards the Spidger wall. The flooring was the same. The walls were the same. But the accessories- "Damn it. It's gone."

There's not much time to lament however as the smashing of the crate creates enough sound to turn the bird's head. He starts flying in that direction.
Illyana Rasputina A lab that turns into something other than a laboratory in the twinkling of an eye? It surely leaves evidence. Footsteps, the lid of a beaker rolled away. Scraps under boxes or a junked shelf showing the dusty or stained outlines where boxes and materials once stood. Illyana seeks out any evidence of electrical wires, proof that some kind of apparatus might have stood here. She is patient, frighteningly so, in her methodical pursuit. Maybe it is time wasted.

Maybe not. The owl feather lies there innocuously on the ground and she stoops, glancing first up and around to be certain no strigid lurks on high with baleful eyes intending terrible intent. Her gloved fingers pinch the vanes from the side, assuming the plumage doesn't register as magical.

Those highly attuned senses are wide open for any signs of the mystic. Even if it hurts a little. Goodbye feather. Pop!

Behind the invisibility shield, she rapidly rises. Nick is still hard to make out in the dark. Her eyes narrow to the noise and she follows him with slow, careful strides.
Jua Mandala Well well well! The Plummage was indeed magical! Illyana had already taken flight, as has Phantasm. But now so does an owl. It makes a single hoot and with silent wings takes off. It didn't seem to have any ill intent...it just flew off...and was soon gone in the dark. But what is an owl doing here? But as for evidence, there was none. No beaker, no scraps, no junk, just that one lone feather

As both of them make it back to the supposed 'lab', they can see Jua having a full on tantrum, just picking up and smashing crates. He certainly wasn't a Chimera, but between the owl and a gorilla, definintly not Gotham City wild life either. However...he seems to stop and despite the darkness, seems to look directly at Phantasm and Illyana, almost glowering at them. It seems he was in the mist of searching as well.
Nick To Illyana's slow and careful, Nick provides the quick and careless. Well, more medium speed as he glides down the hallway, allowing himself to slow down enough to where he won't end up losing his teammate but far enough ahead that if something were to strike out, there would be ample warning for at least one of them.

As the sight of the gorilla comes to view, the bird's flight arcs up, looping before coming to a land upon one of the non-smashed boxes. "Woah there!"
Illyana Rasputina Owls in a warehouse. Moreover, where did it enter from? Broken window, perhaps, open door? Illyana doesn't immediately drag her sword into existence and she swiftly closes the distance where the corvid in all his magnificent midnight raiment awaits on her. Rare is the moment when anyone expects her to catch up; it's frequently the other way around. Novelty this is not, byproduct of pulling down whatever influences she can to strain the senses.

Illyana's invisibility keeps her from sight short of actual magical vision, infused by the mystic, a deliberate hole probably for Nick as much as anything. So too is her mind a dead end, an impenetrable wall. There might just be nothing there, her spell woven around her. She twirls the owl feather around and around, eyeing up the grumpy gorilla while circling around to potentially put her to his back. For the moment, no words; it might be more advantageous to gain a sense of their surroundings, an idea of any signatures floating on the air or shapes glinting in the void. Or a really cool shiny.
Jua Mandala Jua doesn't see Illyana, but he does see the Phantasm and looks to him. He briefly recognizxes the bird, but it was the wolf he saw more of. He walks over being rather gentle, and makes a grand gesture to the room, as if asking the bird if he was seeing this!

If Illyana really does have a vision for seing magic...she would note - yea, everythingt was outline magical in some capacity. It was actually easier to see what was 'not' magical, which might provide some further insight.
Nick Shiny? Where?!

The bird tilts his head, looking to the gorilla. While at one point the bird was seen to Jua, the phantasm only saw the other version of him. But being that the gorilla is not attacking already and the attempt to communicate... "Well, you're not a chimera." He states the obvious out loud while looking to the gorilla.
Illyana Rasputina Shiny, shiny.

"Here," says the Russian sorceress, dispelling the protective orb around her. Nothing impressive there save for the pale flaxen hair, the eyes an ode to the Arctic cold. Hers is a gaze that never warms, impervious to the highlighting effect of a laugh or joy. For someone so young, it's a rather grim weight to bear on slim shoulders. Her coat is a size too large. A gloved hand points to a box or a table flipped over, one not saturated by magic. "A starting point, maybe."
Jua Mandala Jua takes a double take at Illyana, and gives a sigh of relief. Least SOMETHING here was normal. Like a girl with the happiness of an abandon teddybear. He looks to Nick...and reaches forward flicking him in the forehead if the bird doesn't doge it in time.

But besides that...he looks to the pointed area, and walks over to it. The box that is. He picks it up and brings it over to Illyana, still not saying anything. But he had no reason to be afraid...so here he was.

If Illyana looked over the box, she would see it did have magic...weaker ones. But it was but a well placed rouse. If she was indeed meticulouse...she would realize two things. 1 - this magic energy was at first glance ONLY magic energy, with absolutely no effect but to appear as magic energy. The second thing an even more decerning eye would note is that....this energy formed a rune...or reverse rune.

Normally runes held the magical energy. But in this case the runes were being made by the energy, rendering them virtually invisible except to those who take a deeper look.
Nick The bird's head turns, looking over to the now revealed blonde and then towards the table. With his attention off of Jua, the gorilla's fingers ends up passing through the bird's head. The periphiral vision cluing the avian in on the action after the finger finishes up. "Just. Don't." comes the stern warning.

Wings spread, he hops off the box, doing a gentle glide over to the table. Not really seeing anything he looks to Illyana curiously. For a guy whose powers are magic based, Nick sure doesn't seem to know much about it.
Illyana Rasputina Normal. That's Illyana. Totally normal, save for the leather pants and boots that look like they belong in a novel cover or a video game. They might as well be surreal because she wears them with total ease.

The box presents an option. One that means rummaging through it, poking about with one of the barrettes pulled from her hair. They serve a limited purpose holding back the blonde strands, anyway. Nudging around means exposing a rune without touching it. She is no fool when it comes to smudging writing or touching the completely unfamiliar glyph to see what it will do.

"Inverted. Rarely is inverted good." A slender hand shapes the image in the air with absolutely no power behind it, just some random gestures. "Do you read anything in here?" This is apparently to either of them. It might be to the bird.

Who talks to birds?
Jua Mandala Well, considering the bird talking, this was a lab with monsters, and there is a rando gorrilla here...really ALL of this seems rather normal. Like it belong in some strange comic book.

But considering Jua didn't see anything, he was just...standing there confused. He crosses his arms and simply waits for the magicions to do there thing.
Nick The bird looks to the image image, his head tilting to the side. "Yeah, that'd be a 'no' for me." The bird replies with a shrug, "I don't exactly study this stuff."
Illyana Rasputina A T: that's the sort of shape and letter that can mean a great deal. Squinting at a T doesn't necessarily indicate something directly. "I wonder that it might be part of a word. Should we look for traces elsewhere?" A simple enough suggestion, really. She does a rather good deal of not freaking out around a gorilla, which might be cause for Jua to be worried.

"Do you know anything about this place? I can start over there, and you over here," another gesture to the opposite side, "if we want to split the work."
Jua Mandala At the question, and Illyana obssession with the box which apparently holds something he cannot see, his brows scrounge forward. This place was....not the same. But it was...he suddenly got an idea.

At least for Phantasm, he would see something odd...spreading from where they are, the lab itself was....reconstructing itself. And by the way Jua was looking around in deep concentration...one can only summerize...he was the source of this. But there was something else.

Where the boxs where, became black sillhoutes. Indicating they were not originally there. The only box that wasn't...was the box Illyana held. Magic? Psychic? Who can say with this gorilla, but it at least indicated the box was important and other like it could be potentially found as well.

Of course Illyana saw none of this.
Nick "Alright. Split up. Find Stones. Seems simple eno-" The raven pauses, blinking as he feels like he's back in the 3D projection of his drawing again. Wings spreading, he flies towards the closest box revealed in the Where's Waldo: Cheaterface edition.
Illyana Rasputina Illyana obviously gains none of these insights. Hers are a matter of proximity, however. She leaves the box be and slides away to consider the half of the room taken over as her task, prepared to poke at them with a fingertip or, perhaps, a dagger that absolutely has no business being where it is. Yanked from a belt as need be. A tap-tap-tap on a box begins the process of determining if she needs to open them as the raven flaps himself over to another box.

She turns. "Did you find something?"
Jua Mandala Well...Phantasm did have to deal with ONE more thing. A play by play of the monsters. Well a Monster. Sharkptopuses Rex...in freezeframe...in the middle of the room. Frozen in that sassy back talk stance when he insulted it. It looked a bit TOO real for comfort.

But none the less, Kid simply lays back and waits. These two seemed to know what they were looking for...and this was hopefully highlighting such things. Phantasm if he was paying attention could fine two more items out of a place. A cabinate....and an old shelf.

Illyana tapping dagger on boxes would reveal any additional infomation. She may have to dig a bit deeper to find something, as more than likely the last one would be the hardest one to find.
Nick The raven nods. Pointing a wing at one before he glances around. "The- GEEZ!"

There is a clank as the raven reacts to the sudden image of the Sharktopus Rex appearing by smacking into a metal cabinet.

Recovering, he takes another look to find the image frozen still as well as seeing himself, mid combat. "The hell-"

The bird turns, looking over at the concentrating Jua curiously before going back to point out the previous box, and another one he sees.
