Drake Winters There was a flash of blue light as Drake and Rave step off the teleporter that brings them into outerspace and aboard the Legion's cruiser. He taps a few buttons on his data pad to power it down, then turns around to give her a bright smile. "So, ta-da! This is .. home! This is where we live at. The Legionnaires. Kinda cool, huh? I'll show you the kitchen so we can get something to snack on, then I can give you a tour." There is a bit of hesitation from the speedster before he reaches out and slides his hand into hers. There. Holding hands. He gives it a gentle squeeze.

"You feel okay, right? Some people say teleporting is kinda fuzzy feeling in the tummy. I assure you, we haven't lost someone yet.. at least .. according to Brainy we haven't lost anyone." He says with an amused grin.
Rave Rave had been a lot of cool places since she'd developed her powers. International travel had become a few seconds away, she could literally traverse the globe and set foot on every continent in time for lunch if she wanted to. There'd been plenty that she'd witnessed...but this was literally out of this world.

"Holy crap!"

That squeeze is returned but...Rave was already moving, streaking towards the nearest viewpoint to look out whatever window she could find. "This is actual space. Like, above the planet space." Apparently, she's fine. But then, the girl could literally be made of light half the time.
Drake Winters As he gets tugged along, Drake laughs as he blinks along with her towards one of the windows. Earth is seen in the distance, as well as the universe filled with stars. "Yeah, this is actual space." He says with a grin. "I remember my first time up here also, I was freaking out. I looked out every window, but.. it's kinda the same. When the Cruiser moves, it's like from the movies. Boom! Stars are flying forward, total hyperspace. We can jaunt around anywhere in seconds."

Giving her a motion with his hand, he says, "Come on! Let's head to the mess hall. You can try some space food, and we got a replicator for Earth food too. I've got to try a lot of different things from all types of planets." Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out a small pin, then leans forward to attach it to her shirt. "Here, universal translator. We got some members who speak different languages. So this one kinda blends everything into your own. So if someone is speaking Daxamite, it comes out as English and in reverse for them."
Rave "I mean...this is..." the blue-haired girl raises her hands in disbelief. Today, not dressed for clubbing, the black shorts and deep blue shirt she wore were flattering but considerably plain. Now she's standing on a spaceship with replicators and hyperdrives and... "This is like something out of a science fiction film..."

Shaking her head lightly, her attention comes back to Drake and she makes to follow, pausing to let him pin on the translator with a little laugh. "Daxamite? Never even heard of..." she begins before exhaling a breath. "You realise I'm the sort of 'superheroine' that's still running 'round in activewear or whatever I have on hand most days, right? This is insane resources! Where did it all come from?
Drake Winters "Daxamites are like .. Kryptonians. The people that Superman is from. They were at war with each other. Family issues. Nothing worth getting into." Drake chuckles as he bumps his shoulder to her as he heads down the hallway with her. "My best friend, Lar Gand is a Daxamite. He is also called Mon-El. He is our leader! He's kinda like Superman, same power set. He's awesome."

"But, uh .. this all came from the thirty-first century. That's where the Legion is from. Not me, obviously. I'm from the here and now, but these guys went back through time to support us in our timeline because I suppose something big is going to happen that they know of, and they want to prevent it. Kinda like.. universe shattering event or something. Hooray, right?"

As they enter the mess hall, he calls out, "Computer, can you please replicate some Glorax chowder with extra spice?" There is a beep noise, followed by a hum near a large machine. "You'll love this. It's like our chowder but not as chewy and even creamier. Don't ask what the meat of the creature it comes from looks like. The tastes are way better than the visuals."
Rave "So time travel is a thing too...and there are people like Superman who -aren't- Supergirl or Power Girl...Okay..." this was a little bit to process, but the speedster follows along regardless and listens along with a little shiver. "Greeeeat. Because we haven't had enough crazy around here as of yet. We gotta have 'future and other universe too?"

A shrug, Rave glances towards Drake. "Guess you took it all in your stride, huh?"

Mystery meat? It gets a hard pass with a raise of her hand and a little giggle. "I mean, that's not the best pitch for 'try this' I've ever heard. You can go first."
Drake Winters "I've had it a dozen times. It's awesome." Drake says as he passes her a bowl, which looks just like normal chowder, but with a grayer colored meat floating about. He takes his own, plops a spoon in and takes a big bite, humming happily around it. "I have taken this in stride, yeah. I was just a normal guy playing video games until by a freak accident involving the Legion and one of their greatest enemies, I got my powers."

As he eats, he says, "And, they did not seem too surprised.. to be honest.. probably because in their timeline, they already knew about it. They keep calling me Dynamite, even though I go by Slipstream. I guess at some point in the future, I change my codename." He says with with a chuckle. "It has a cool ring to it. I use that tag when I play games online.. so.. I don't know.. they won't tell me anything else and they blocked the computers from me looking into my future. They said that some things just need to write themselves."

"But, on the flip side.. I'm totally buying lottery tickets." He says with a wink.
Rave Eventually, she's going to take the risk, intercepting his spoon with her fingers and pulling it towards her lips to take a bite. Alright, so it wasn't going to kill her or have her tripping out? That's a good start! Giving a little tilt of her head, there's a silent 'huh' expression of suprise at the quality of the food before she nods along with his comment.

"I mean, isn't that a little weird, knowing people know you in the future? I'd be fondering when or if I get well known. If I end up some supervillain or...I mean hell, I was once kidnapped by the 'Evil Flash' before. That was a night and a half." A pause, she tilts her head the other way, releasing his spoon so that he can keep eating. "I don't know if people like us should bother with that. We've already won one hell of a prize."
Drake Winters "We have, but it's still at least fun to see if it works. Sides, I haven't won yet. It's almost as if the timeline works against me when I do it. But, I also wonder if that's because I am currently trapped between..two timelines." Drake says as he flops his hands out to both sides in a shrug. "My body got ripped apart across realities and this bracelet is what keeps me together in this one." He says as he motions to his left wrist, full of LED's with numerical readouts.

"If I take it off, I .. uh.. explode on a molecular level. If I push myself too hard with my powers I also explode. It hurts a lot when I push myself. I can feel my body starting to rip apart, like a million swords stabbing me. Brainy told me that he cured me at one point and says he can do it right now. I just.. I dunno.. I feel like getting a simple injection is an easy way out. I sorta like having a drawback. Makes me think more.. rather than take dumb risks. You know.. keeps me humble."
Rave "So...you get this injection and what? You lose your powers and become normal?" Rave questions, a tilt of her head. She could push her powers to the point of pain too, but she wasn't talking about her abilities right now, instead she reaches out to brush her fingers against the bracelet before lowering her hand to his.

"So...try not to explode then, right? Putting yourself back together sucks at the best of time, if it's even possible."
Drake Winters "He is assured I can keep my powers, but the part that kills me will go away." Drake says with a smile. "But, I feel like this is apart of me. The pain that goes along with the powers. I could make it go away, but .. there is also other things that I'm afraid I will lose if I do it." He taps his skull gently. "Like I said, I was in two different realities. I lived a whole other life in there before I was saved by the Legion. A prison of time. I have memories from that world that are obviously not really mine, but they're meaningful. I just don't want to lose it."

Taking another bite of the chowder, he hums happily, then finds a chalky colored bun from the bread box and tears it in half. He dips it into the soup and takes a bite, then hands her the other half.

"But yeah, trying not to explode. I've came close a few times." Taking a seat at the large dining table, he says, "So uh.. I'm glad you came up here with me. First time taking a girl up here."

"Kiiinda means.. I like you."
Rave "That's...'heavy'?" Rave offers a little lamely, unsure of what to say. It's a little hard to compare the value of two 'existances' at once after all, otherwise she would have honestly thought him foolish for not removing the risk of...well, exploding if he broke his bracelet. Taking the bun as offered, the 'Bluenette' gives a little laugh and raises her eyebrows.

"Really?" she teases, tilting her head. "I mean, here I was thinking you extended the invitation to me back the first time you found out about me and what I could do. When it was a 'tour' and potential recruitment..."

A pause, she lazily reaches down to dig into her pocket, retrieving that blueberry lip gloss and replacing it with a grin. "Is this a date then? A date on a spaceship?"
Drake Winters "Well, I mean that is /also/ on the table as long as the team is cool with it. If you don't mind living on a spaceship, jaunting off around the universe, saving aliens from planets blowing up, or stopping civil wars on Saturn.. you know.. basic stuff." Drake grins at her as he leans back into his chair. It's shaped like an upside down ice cream scoop. Made of metal. It's surprisingly cozy. "I wouldn't have the final call. Would be up to Lar and Rokk really."

"Buuut, it can be a date if you want it to be? I just wanted to show you something that was personal to me, let you see into my world a bit and just talk. I've had fun with you. Every time we hang out, I get a dumb grin on my face and then the guys make fun of me." He says with a chuckle as he taps his spoon about in his bowl of chowder. "I don't put myself out there a lot since I got burned a few times. So this is not easy for me."
Rave "I mean..." Rave muses, giving a little laugh before closing her eyes. "Most people start with something small like a movie, swimming pool or dinner or something..." she trails off with a little flush of her cheeks before shrugging her shoulders. "I suppose normal isn't exactly 'us' in any way huh?"

Rave pauses, tilting her head to the side and then exhaling a breath. Her gaze drops a little, her hand not at his reaching up to push a stray blue bang from her faintly luminescent eyes. "I'm not....super good at this either, just so you know. Being flirty and fun and all that like I am can...well, I'm kinda high-energy. It can be a little much for some people."
Drake Winters "We got movies here. I can pull one up in the rec room and we can make some space popcorn. It's blue." Drake says with a grin. "Matches your hair. But I figured go big or go home right? So, here you go! Spaceship." He says as he motions with his spoon about the mess hall."

"But, if you're down to hang out more and see where it goes, I'm open to it. But if you aren't, that's cool too. I know I'm not like.. the ideal guy to go out with. I don't look amazing in a cape or tights." He says as he gives her an amused grin.

"But, I open doors and pay for dates."
Rave "I mean, capes seem kinda silly. Especially for those of us that can't fly." Yep, deflection, but she shrugs her shoulders lightly and looks about the space before biting her bottom lip. "I mean, all things considered..."

A breath, a shrug, she looks back at him with a grin, a slight flush to her face. "I mean, lets hang out and see what happens, yeah? At least someone like you is gonna understand some of this 'hero' stuff."
Drake Winters "That is true. I /was/ an Avenger for a few months." Drake says with a grin, twirling his spoon about the chowder a few times. "So, do you want me to give you a tour of the place? It's not super exciting to be honest. It's mostly just a bunch of rooms with windows that shows you the same stars. Space is weird like that. Just really big, long, cold. The excitement wears off after a few hours once you realize you can't actually go outside because you sorta... freeze dry and die."
Rave "An Avenger?" she repeats, giving a little laugh and folding her hands in front of her in an exaggerated look of awe. Of course she was teasing him, but even so there was a little smile that couldn't help slip through her mask there. His second comment however? That earns a little shake of her head that sends a stray blue lock dangling in front of her eyes. "I love how you can be on a Spaceship from the -future- and still find it boring. That's just...wow."

Of course, this was all pretty new to her too.

"I mean, I'd zip around and look myself, but I don't want to set off some weird death-laser field or release the office Xenomorph or something."
Drake Winters "Nah, we don't have anything like that. We do have a ping pong table though in the rec room. Go zip around. It's just us in here." Drake assures her as he gives a motion of his hand. "I'll even tag along with you." He says as he strides past her, leaning in to bump his shoulder to hers.

"Our bunk rooms aren't that exciting. They're like small closets with a bed and a place to put our clothes. It's like living in Japan or something." As he blinks forward into the next room, he waves his hands about. "The dining room!" He blinks out again. "Living area! Which is mostly viewing monitors and couches."
Rave "Japan is awesome," Rave points out as she stands, glancing back at the table once more. Every 'blink' of his? It's met with a similar flash of bright blue neon as she moves in tandem. "The nightlife in some places, the views...and I could totally rock a kimono...probably couldn't run well in it though." A little shrug, the Rec room will indeed be met with a little chuckle. "Speedsters playing ping pong would either be awesome or a good way to break something, y'know?"

On to the living area, there's a little quirk of her head as she looks over the screens and the couches. "So...where's the uber-awesome lab or whatever where people get their fancy gadgets like this translator thing, or the their 'suits'."
Drake Winters "Labs are lower decks. Brainiac 5, which is his name, keeps those to himself. He is our chief engineer and has an IQ of over a thousand. I'm not even joking. His race is a huge deal full of super geniuses. So, he doesn't want us idiots fucking things up. So I think we should peek inside." Drake says with a laugh. "I've been in there a few times when they were testing me. Wasn't really exciting stuff. Just more screens, gizmos that I have no clue what they do."

"Come on, let's head to the operations so you can see the cool stuff then. It is definitely real Stark Trekky in there." With that, he takes her by the hand, leans in to deliver a peck to her lips, then blinks out. Once they land, he gives a motion of his hand. "Tada! This is the sick bay."

The ship's sick bay is small but technologically advanced, with equipment to perform medical procedures on numerous documented species with meta-abilities that might require special measures to facilitate treatment, such as red solar lighting to allow for emergency surgery on Kryptonians and Daxamites.

"Told you. Pretty aesthetic."
Rave "Jeez...how can you even -be- that smart? As in...that's a lot of stuff to just 'know' and never have to look up." Of course, IQ and recall aren't the same thing, but it was close enough for the speedster college student! Continuing the tour was smooth enough, even if the sudden seizing of her hand and peck to her lips has her looking a little suprised. He might actually have managed to get away from her there for a second!

To the sickbay she zips, peering in with a soft murmer of 'Wow..." before shaking her head. "This is all just nuts, but like in an awesome sort of way. I wonder how much stuff around here could cure things on Earth...probably some time travel reason why you wouldn't though, right?"
Drake Winters "To be honest, there are just some things you can't cure, even with future medicine. I tried that one. In their time I guess AIDS is gone, but cancer is still around. So is the common cold." Drake says as he furrows his brows. "But, you tear your guts open? They got a spray that seals you back together and you're fine. That's come in handy a few times."

He motions her to follow him, then blinks out again in another jaunt of blue light, this time to the labs. The laboratory is its own sub-level, large and well-organized with subsections devoted to physics, manufacturing, temporal studies, xenobiology, and hydroponics. In an emergency the lab deck can be sealed off from the rest of the ship.

"So, this is where all the action happens. It's a huge library of data. You can access the data from your data pads." He says as he holds his up. "Kinda like an iPad but way cooler." As he taps the screen, a holographic image of Earth pops up that he spins about with his fingers. "You can pinch and zoom in, touch things, pull up data, ask it information."
Rave A soft whince, but she nods her head, gesturing to herself. "Most anything I can heal if I absorb enough light. From a hickey to a broken bone. Even haircuts...I guess I just sort of 'reset' back to how I started." A shrug from Rave, she does indeed follow him into the lab and strangely enough for what one might expect from the 'Raver' girl, she did legitimately look to be paying attention. Who'd have guessed? Eventually though, they'd move towards the datapads and she nods to his explaination, idly dipping her fingers into the hologram and warping it a little before she drops back.

"Y'know, my place isn't going to remotely stack up to this, right?"
Drake Winters "It's not a competition of who has the coolest crib." Drake says as he hops up on to a medical bed, then reaches over to open a drawer and takes out a small device. "Let me scan you. This will let me know how optimal you are, if you got any irregularities, diseases, crushes on some cute dude."

After a few button presses, a red light begins to glow from the magic wand in his hands. "But if you grow two heads from this, my bad." He says as he holds it up and waves it in front of her. It has a warming sensation as he scans her. On one of the displays, her bio-readings begin to pop up.
Rave "Whoa wait what-" she begins, blinking a little as he reaches out for the scanning wand, Rave actually blinking in suprise as he waves the wand at her. Damn speedsters, they're the only thing that can catch another speedster by suprise! Or at least that's Rave's excuse. Of course, who knows what comparison the ship's data had to assess her with. A metahuman certainly, but by nature alone in some ways she too was breaking quantum laws with her existance. Albeit laws of matter rather than time and space.

At least she did indeed seem to be uninjured, without disease and...even her cells seemed to be regenerating just enough from the ambiant light around her. Rave probably didn't know it, given how recent her powers were, but she'd stopped aging pretty much the moment she'd changed.
Drake Winters "See, just a tickle and your second head is just as cute as your first." Drake says as he looks up at the 3D hologram of Rave floating in the air in front of him, made up of mostly matrixes and data. He gives a flick of her finger to spin the hologram about. "So, there you are. Perfectly healthy."

"Interesting read out on your cells though." He hums to himself as he leans forward to squint his eyes. "Kinda like mine.. but, way faster and more efficient. You heal also, buuuut... at like a light speed pace. Huh." He licks his lips, thinking.

"But, eh, I don't know what any of that stuff means. So, whatcah wanna do now?"
Rave "I dunno if that's kinda awesome or super-creepy...but I guess it saves on waiting for blood test results, huh?" Rave muses, giving a little poke in his side at the joke about heads. Shaking her head, she reaches out to spin the little image of herself before giving a little laugh. "And huh, I -am- pretty cute, even as a teeny hologram."

Back to Drake and his question? She seems to pause for a moment, considering for a second just what activity to follow this exploration with. "I think we should head down back to the city. Pick up some non-Sci-fi burgers and a shake, then maybe see what trouble we can find out there...or end up watching a movie or something. But..." she pauses considering for a moment. "Ah...probably not a great idea to take a selfie up here, huh?"
Drake Winters "You are definitely cute." Drake assures her as he taps a few more times on his data pad to close the file. "And we can do that if you want to go back to normieville and do burgers and shakes. Though you haven't lived until you had a breakfast sandwich with Xeronymph eggs."

Bumping into her shoulder gently, he says, "We can do selfies on the bridge. That way you can get the best view of the stars and Earth." As he heads out of the lab, he waits for her, then locks it bheind him with a tap of the code. From there, he will lead her to the bridge, showing off the dorms along the way. "That's my room." He points out to a door with his codename on it.
