Alexis Carr	Alexis had officially joined the school full time as of last week. She was wearing a set of Bumblebees that her name now was labeled in the back, fitted to her form, her hair pulled back an coiled at the nape of her neck in a low bun as she purses her lips, adjusting her gloves momentarily. She has a rapier at her side, and wa sjust a little bit nervous about being put through her paces.     "Are you sure I'm ready for this, Sam?" she calls out.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie is in the control room. "Ok, tonight your going to get something most of the kids get their first time here. You have a simple objective. You are to make it across the room and press the red button.
Alexis Carr	Alexis looks up to where the control room looms, and she gives a shrug. "All right, walk accross the room, push a button. How hard can it be?" the Brit asks, with famous last words, rolling her shoulders as she stands a bit to the side to ee just what the Danger Room comes up with, kicking her boots slightly against the floor. "Ready when you are, Sam!"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Your on the go." He says to her, and as he says it a Maze pops up in front of her, walls 10 foot high and made of stone, but no roof on it.
Shannon	Slipping into the Danger Room in her own 'bumblebees', with her hair tied up in a bun--ice blue streak and all--the winged teen's eyebrows loft, and she crosses her arms. Just what had she walked into? For the moment, she stays to the side, to see who's who and what's what, observing. And also hoping her gifts weren't needed this time.
Alexis Carr	"... I swear to God, if David Bowie is hiding in here --" Alexis mutters, and she glances about. Ten foot tall walls. No roof capping it. She gives a soft hum, and the first thing she does is take out her rapier -- and points it upwards, and gives a little hop to test if the maze has an invisible roof.     "First thing's first, let's see if I can get the high ground."     She doesn't notice Shannon's arrival, but the pidgeon may want to move to the Control Room or risk being collateral!
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit and says "You remind me of the babe, babe." He will kick in the music just cause she brought it up. He will motion Shannon to join him. There is no roof there so she has that going for her.
Shannon	Shannon nods to Sam, quiet, and sidling over to join him. Seemed the sensible way to go. It might well be a simulation sprung from his mind, after all. "Hey there, big brother," she murmurs. "What's going on?"
Alexis Carr	"Oh now it's stuck in my head --" Alexis calls back, and she takes a few steps back, sheathing her rapier at her side as she exhales, eyeballing the wall critically before she breathes out. She braces, then takes off in a run, trying to run up the wall and catch the edge to swing herself up.     "Piece of cake!"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie grins over to Shannon "Alexis has not had the walk across the room yet." he will tell her. And as Alexis gets to the top of the walls, she will see there are pterodactyls flying above her. He grins and over the com says "Your walk maybe a bit different than the kids."
Shannon	Shannon chuckles softly, and sticks close to her adopted big brother. Yeah, if there were pterodactyls involved, she wasn't about to get caught up in it. "Don't think as you've even had me do that, come to think of it. But you've had me fly around it a few times." She grins at Alexis, watching her at work. "Come on, you can do it!"
Alexis Carr	Alexis looks up at the sky with wide eyes, looking an watching the winged reptiles swoop an fly around -- and she gives a low hiss.     "Samuel Zachary Guthrie *why are there pterodactyls--" she begins -- and then deciding that wisdom is needed for this run, she takes a quick look at the maze ahead, then pops back down to the shelter of the walls, and begins to run.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie grins and says "Because they fly?" He will answer her. He looks over to Shannon and says "Well may have to run you through one soon. Alexis starts heading along through the path and about half way down a hall she starts to sink into the floor that is now quicksand.
Shannon	"Big brother, sometimes I swear you are more evil than Mr. Summers on his parkour runs." Shannon giggles, remembering the lava floors, and the simulated run through the alleys and rooftops of Bushwick. That had actually been a good run. "Hmmm. Maybe Alexis ought to join us on one of those one day."
Alexis Carr	QUICKSAND.     For someone who had lived all her life with perils in the city, Alexis had not a clue on how to process this one. She shifts her weight around, and takes a deep breath -- don't panic, Hitchhiker's Guide rule number one. She bites down on her lower lip, and relaxes a moment, then slowly begins to make her way forwards, keeping her hands up.     "Keep calm, keep moving--" she whispers to herself, feeling about for a 'floor' beneath the san as she sinks down.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie will watch this and says "Me? I aint mean." He will tell Shannon. Alexis will make it through the quicksand and is able to climb out, but seems to have a layer of the stuff sticking to her. "Just keep swimming?" He teases
Shannon	Shannon chuckles softly, and starts chanting. "Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming!" a la Dory. Oh yes. Sam might not be showing his mischievous streak at the moment, but she certainly was. Still, all the same, she did smile proudly at Alexis, and does chase the teasing with a hearty cheer. "Good job there!"
Alexis Carr	"I'll kick that lad's arse, and pluck the pidgeon bald --" Alexis states as she breathes out, and brushes off the wet sand from her bumblebees before she continues on down the path, keeping a wary eye to the sky above, taking the path a wee bit more carefully now, wary of what Sam's got up his sleeve. She's lost the playfulnes, and in lieu now the two see a most serious Allegra.     The Allegra that survived on the streets, that surrendered her life of comfort and wealth for homelessness.     The Alexis who is a survivor.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie smiles and she will feel the mud she has left on her hardening up much harder and quicker than it should have but her brushing most of it off, it does not give her the concrete onesie. The room changes and just barely head in the background is the Indiana jones music.
Shannon	Shannon beams with pride at Alexis, leaning over to murmur to Sam. "Dang. She's good. You may have your hands full challenging her." She noted the quicksand and the attempt at a concrete onesie, filing away the way Alexis was quick to brush the wet sand off of herself. She had a feeling it would probably behoove her to study the virtuoso's Danger Room recaps, in detail.
Alexis Carr	At least it's not the Fire Gang. That would be bad. And creepy. Nightmarish little muppets.     The music is heeded though, and Alexis narrows her eyes, and pauses, bringing her hand up to the wall to feel for rumbling of an oncoming giant ball of rock -- her eyes looking down and searching the ground for foot pannels as she pauses.     "You're giving all the tricks away."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie grins a bit and while there does not seem to be a boulder or panels there are darts that come shooting out of the wall, that seem to have an odd timing on them, but if pulled off just right might be able to be make it through them.
Alexis Carr	Musicians and timing go hand in hand. Alexis watches the darts. She breathes out, and hums a little bit as she gets the timing right, -- and then she books it. She draws herself accross the floor of the maze, running behind the firing darts -- not in front of -- and she strains to get the timing JUSt right to get accross safely!
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie hmms and smiles. The woman did not do what he expected her to do, and she makes it past that. The door to the other room seems to be just across a span of rocks. In the middle of the span is the piano from goonies.
Alexis Carr	Alexis's heart is racing now, mostly because this seemed to be full of references... but she's never seen Goonies.     So she circles about slightly, buting her lower lip, and goes to examine the keyboard of the instrument, looking for clues!
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie watches her a brow raised a bit as she does not start playing right away but the map is there, and like in the movie it has a tune to play, If she notices it, the part music maybe something she might recognize but the last note is wrong.
Alexis Carr	Alexis stands in front of the music a moment, and she hums. She pitches the notes correctly, an makes a sour face at the last note, but slowly places. One note, two notes, drawing her fingers along the aging keyboard -- but hesitates at that last note -- and then hits it, as instructed in the music, an braces herself.
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie looks down at her, as the platform has pieces fall away but a thing walkway is left for her to make her way to the door and the button seems she has made it.
Alexis Carr	This seemed a trick. That was too easy. The young mutant singer draws herself to a stand, and begins to make her way accross the narrow walkway, her heart poundingi n her ears -- or was that drums? oh, no , it might be her heart!
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Good job, good job." As she made it "I did not get you with any of the three things I expected to.. really thought I would get ya on the piano.
Alexis Carr	She... got there?     Alexis gives a wry mile, and continues along the narrow walkway, carefully. "Well, music is written with purpose, I could have played it incorrectly to make it sound better... but it ight have dropped a piano on m'head." she states, reaching out to go to the door, to claim that button and win 'Walk Accross the Room'!
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie chuckles as she makes it and he says "To be honest, Ah expected you to play it from the movie and not even pick up the sheet music. Had to try to out think ya instead of out power ya.
Alexis Carr	And rarity bespeaks, Alexis hits the button, and she looks up to the Control Room.     "Well, works in my favor -- I've never een the movie that particular bit is from. I wouldn't have known it." she replies, looking up and giving a sigh, rubbing the back of her neck.     "I sort of figured it might be harder."
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie chuckles and says "Well as I said had to think to try to more than just out power ya and you are a bit more exerience than we were when we tried. HE will key up a show of him, flyinf across at 16 and getting knocked out of the air by a giant airbag on a piston
Alexis Carr	"Aw, look at you Sam, you're so wee -- and that *haircut*." Alexis gives a wry smile as she watches poor Young Sam dropping from the air. "You recovered quick enough, I hope?"
Samuel Guthrie	Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "More ego bruises than real bruises "Thought I had ya ticked enough for the concrete or the darts to get you."
Shannon	Shannon chuckles as she watches the playback of Sam getting knocked out of the air. "He showed me that when I first got here, or something real close to it. I was mad about not making it through all the rings in the course. Didn't feel so bad after that."
