Owner Pose
Megan Gwynn Okay, so it was totally Megan's idea to do this, but beneath the fun factor, there was a good reason for it, and that was to get some more practical use in for her dagger. And even if it was rather non-physical, it didn't mean she couldn't use some of the same principles in a sword fight.

Anyway, she arrives early in the danger room, wearing her custom X-costume which consists of a black dress with leather bodice, and tough but flexible gold gauntlets and knee high boots.

"Alright, I'm here!" she peers around as she steps in, hoping she made it to the right danger room.."
Kurt Wagner     The Danger Room Door opens to the deck of a ship! A big ship, with wood planks beneath, the sails hoisted, the ship rocking with the waves. It smells salty, and with the dark whiff of pine pitch and the the greasy smell of oil lamps clinging to the air around her.

There are, of course, people working the ship! Bigands in motley are singing shanties as they work.

And above, at the helm, was Kurt.

Kurt was wearing a dark blue greatcoat over breeches. He had a brilliant red and black sash tied around his waist, and a rapier at his side He wore a tricorne smartly over his ruffled, navy hair, and he was holding the wheel with a foot and his tail wrapped around one of the handles as he leaned back on the rail.

"Ah! Good evening, Miss Gwynn! Welcome to the Spare Farthing!"
Megan Gwynn Okaaaay? She was expecting a lesson on sword fighting..But this is even cooler! "Ohhhh darnit! I shoulda brought my pirate costume.." or a hat at least. Well, at least she has her belt and boots and heck, at least her dress looks a bit like a pirate dress - if you stretch the imagination a bit.

Heck, maybe she can steal a hat from someone, because those costumes are sooo cool! She wanders about the deck, peering this way and that, taking in the refreshing salt water scent as she scopes out everything.

tOh, and there's Kurt, unmistakable, even in his pirate outfit. "Mister Wagner! Hii!" she smiles and waves to him, stepping to join him. "this is soooo cool! But I wish I had thought to dress more the part."
Kurt Wagner     "Ach, well, I might be able to at least partially accomodate!" Kurt states, and he takes off his tricorne as he stands, tail still on the wheel as he delivers a deep bow to Megan, and then, as he rises, plops the tricorne right on her head.

"There! Much more thematic, ja?" he questions brightly, and he slips out of the coat.

"Mr. Gibs, if you would take the wheel?" he asks politely, and a mustachioed man takes the wheel with an "Aye, Captain!"

"Well, I had considered a reconfigure for Peter Pan... but all I could think was poor Piotr in the costume. The shadow alone would weigh ten pounds." he offers as a joke. "SO! You want to learn to sword fight?"
Megan Gwynn Megan Gwynn ooohs, twisting and turning this way and that to adjust the hat. "Oooh! It's sooooo cute! Can I keep it?" she giggles as she strikes a pose.

"Okay, Peter Pan would have been cool too, but I like your look all the same." she grins and nods. "Yeaah, I figure, since my dagger's basically a short sword, it'd be useful to learn how to use it in ways other than just stabbing stuff, right? Besides, sword fighting's kinda cool!"
Kurt Wagner     Kurt gives a wry smile, and he draws out a dagger of his own, giving it a bit of a flip.

"Oh, well, there are things that can be done with small blades that cannot be done with large. They are easier to hide, for one, in case you care to be sneaky. You can tuck them into a boot quite easily, or a boddice -- not that *I* would know much about that one." he makes a slight face, stretching his other hand a moment as his tail shifts behind him.

"SO, how much do you know about using one?"
Megan Gwynn Megan Gwynn nods slowly. "Oh..I guess they *are* good for concealment, although since I can summon and disperse mine at will, that's not usually a problem."

She grimaces at the bodice thing though, arching a brow. "Err..When did you start parading as a bar wench?" Megan giggles a bit, wondering if she actually wants to know..But shrugs as she summons her dagger, striking a pose.

"Ooh, well I know some basic strikes, and I can throw pretty well!" She turns and tosses it with at one of the ship's poles, striking it with particular accuracy at its centre. "How's that?" she grins, "But learning some real swordplay, now that would be cool."
Kurt Wagner     "Let's not discuss how I know so much about boddices and wenchery. Just settle yourself that it was a one-time thing and involved a lost bet." the blue one states, sticking his tongue out a moment as she throws the dagger, and hits the mast dead center!

"Hmm. Are you sure you want swordplay and not knifery? Very different skillset." he states, looking amused.
Megan Gwynn Megan Gwynn giggles and shrugs, "Well, I'm sure one of these days I'll manage to get it out of you." she shakes her head at the knifery. "Nah, Psylocke already taught me a bit of knifery..I think it might be fun to learn something new..I mean, real swords, look like sooo much fun! And they're soooo romantic.. You never know when you might get abducted by sword weilding pirates or ninjas, right?" Yeaah, she lives in a fantasy world alright.
Kurt Wagner     "That is an actual concern in some places." Kurt replies, and then he takes out his rapier, and holds it aloft, examining it a moment before he flips it, nimbly, catching the tip on his calloused fingertip, and then lets it fall so that the blade is resting on his arm, and he offers the pommel end to Megan.

"All right, then let's talk stances, first."
Megan Gwynn Megan Gwynn giggles, "Really? Except renaissance pirates are certainly a thing of the past..Right?" she pouts a bit, current pirates arent nearly soo..Romantic." Stances, right! I know a b it about that, is it different with a sword?" probably.
