Alexis Carr     Sometimes in order to evade writer's block, you need to get a change of venue, and from out of their room, Alexis has errupted and set up shop in one of the alcoves of the main foyer. To any passwerby who might not be in the know, she was just someone, a student, pouring over papers wtih all these weird little lines -- but she was humming. Her fingers pulled on imaginary strings, her foot tapping to a rhythm as she worked over a score.

"Transcripe two half steps..." she murmurs to herself.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie had made a trip into town and picked something up. He comes walking back into the mansion looking about and as he sees Alexis he smiles and walks over to her, and says "What ya doing." In the tone of Isabella from Phineas and Ferb. He does lean in to kiss her cheek "Hey there, a bad from the music store in hand.
Alexis Carr     "Hmm?" Alexis questions, and she looks down at the paper in front of her, and she gives an embarrassed sound, rubbing the back of her neck. "Oh, well, I got to thinking... maaaybe it's time I come out? You know... as myself." she states quietly, rubbing the back of her neck. "I mean, I would have to talk with Scott and Jean about the rammifications, but if I make a classical music album, really, who's going to hear it? The elevator music enthusiasts? NPR?" she questions with a shrug.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Well I would listen to it, and if anyone finds out your doing some of the background for Andrea might get more of an audience than your thinking about, but thats not a bad thing. I mean Alison teaches her, and she is known to the world (Both as musican and mutant I think)
Alexis Carr     "Alison isn't the daughter of Filipe Caradenza. My grandparents may all be supportive, but my dad..." she frowns. "I mean, if I'm alive, there's contract obligations to be considered tht were signed before I ran away. To think of my music going to something like that... something that hurts people..." she frowns, and then, tugging Sam down to sit next to her in the little alcove, she leans back against him.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods his head and does sit down next to her, and puts his arms around her "Well you know I will support you hon, and I think everyone else will as well. You plan on coming out as a mutant? Or just going with the realizes that your dad was preaching hate?"
Alexis Carr     "I know you'll support me, no matter what." she gives a slight smile, tilting her head back and over Sam's shoulder a little.

"... I... just want to be myself. I think I've always been a little jealous of Andy in that she chose early on to be herself." she gives a wry little smile, and shrugs her shoulders. "And I was so worried about dealing with a man who would hate me if I didn't live up to his expectations that I lost sight of that."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie he hugs her gently and sets the bag down beside them. He looks over and says "Well Ah love Alexis, Allegra, heck Ah'll love ya even if ya want me to call you Fred." He grins at her, and says "We may want to get a seperate place where Allegra lives to distance the name from the school.
Alexis Carr     "Mmm. That... was a concern. Though I'd feel sad leaving the school... it's become quite homey. Whatever will I do without worrying about students, waking me up in the middle of the night?" she questions, a little rueful smile on her lips as she looks up at Sam.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie smirks a bit and says "We can split our time between someplace and here. I am sure even if we have our own place, they will let s keep our room." He grins a bit and says "Where would ya want to live?"
Alexis Carr     "... it'd have to be close by to the school. I wouldn't want anyone to think I wanted to escape." Alexis comments quietly, tugging her sweatshirt a little tighter around her. "Maybe view some places in Salem Center?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie hmms a bit and says "I know a possible place, I think Stevie might still have her place, the dance hall, and a place above it we might be able to rent it from her or buy it or something.
Alexis Carr     "I'm not renting from Stevie. She will critique. I will cry. Possibly. Only people more cruel are the Russian ballet schools -- perfectly brutal." the music teacher mutters a moment, drawing one leg up. "I could ask for a loan from Nonna and Papa. They would want to insist on a house big enough for family."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie chuckles "Hey Ah am the one who was taught by her." He teases her back "Well I am ok with a big place, I might be able to help, I have a bit of money from the club and the farm now.
Alexis Carr     "You haven't been doing ballet since you were six!" Alexis laughs. "Nor was your father /the/ ballet master for the Boston Ballet, might I add. Ooh, why does that man give me such trouble." she bemoans leaning back against Sam as she closes her eyes.

"... is that something you would want, Sam? A big family?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Well you saw the size of my family hon, I am totally ok with a big family, think it would be more are you willing to do a big family is harder on you that it will be me.
Alexis Carr     "... well..." she frowns, and rubs the back of her head. "My papa is... six of seven? Nonna was first of four... my grandmother was the last of three... father was second of two. Mother was a single for most of her life, aaand I don't have any siblings or cousins. It's a very lonely world to be Allegra Caradenza." she smiles slightly, and reaches for Sam's hand.

"Someday, when we're ready, we can talk more about it."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "And I am the oldest of 10." He leans over and kisses her softly "Well if your wanting to bring Allegra back to the spotlight may want to wait a year or two before starting."
Alexis Carr     Alexis kisses back, her lips curling into a smile as she opens one eye. "Well. When the Good Lord said 'go forth and multiply', your parents certainly took it to heart." she jokes gently, stroking her fingertips over his cheek before she breathes out, and looks to the scores.

"Why wait so long? Now's the time to strike. ANti-Meta sentiment is high. Why shouldn't I return now, of all times, and say how wrong I was, to say how wrong they still are?"
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie chuckles and rubs her back softly and says "No hon I ment two years or so before we start having kids, so you have time to make the return your wanting to, figure it will keep you busy and maybe hard preforming with a baby bump." He teases back to her.
Alexis Carr     "... why? My grandmother and mother both did it. And certainly having Zio and my father didn't stop my Nonna from doing anything... they're very tough ladies. I at least have the tough skin." she states. "Ugh, though, can you imagine me all round like that?" she protests, and then swings her legs about. "Besides, that'll have to wait until you make an honest woman out of me." she gives a lilt back, gathering her papers.
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Well I am sure that can be arranged. So sounds like I should get a ring and make sure I can get down on one knee soon.
Alexis Carr     "Well. You've got two years. Why rush it?" Alexis gives a wry smile, and a soft 'boop' on Sam's nose as he stays sitting, and she folds her score into a folder, very neatly.

"Well, if that does cross your mind -- I do like rubies and fire opal."

The the singer gives a smile, "But I've got a lesson in about fifteen minutes. ONe of the new students has always wanted to pick up guitar, so we're going through a few chords and lessons tonight."
Samuel Guthrie Samuel Guthrie nods, and offers her the bag, and says "Well it is not a fire opal, but something I thought you would like." He has tracked down some recordings of Grandma, mom, and Allegra al preforming and put them together onto a dvd, the front shows all three of them and the concerts inside.
Alexis Carr     "... oh my God... Sam.. where did you -- how did you--?" she questions, looking at some of the performance listings. "... I was ten. And here! This was my performance in Vienna. My mother singing from Die Fieldermaus... my grandmother in The Magic Flute -- goodness, Sam... you must have dug for ages for these!"
