Jay Guthrie Things were much slower back home. No rush and bustle of the city. No press of people on the sidewalk all rushing to some destination that they were in a hurry to reach. No snarled traffic filled with yellow cabs filled with more people rushing to the next point in their daily itinerary.

This town was more mellow. The only time there was a rush on main street was Friday night when the kids went cruising in their pickup trucks. The ones that could do such things. Some of them had lied about their ages to be able to work the mines, as their family did before them and likely their children would after.

Those who left here rarely came back, except to visit. The Guthries were one of the oddities. Of course, they had always been odd. Some people found them frightening, for the unknown always scared folks. They didn't understand mutancy and certainly not how so many were in the same family. Yet, most people here didn't mind. Or even care much anymore. Mutants were a thing! Read the news! And they had their very own set!

The main bar in town was a mix. Not just rock, not just country. There were a few others more specialized but this is the one where most of the local bands would be used, if they could carry a tune. Thus, this is where they would find a certain band that had a part in the story of at least one Guthrie. It was a wooden structure, looking more like a honky tonk and a pretty worn down one from the outside. Though inside would find a decent setup and more modern interior though not by a lot.

Jay drove them there in the old pickup that had been his Pa's. It was from the 1960s, could use a paint job, and was manual but it still worked just fine despite it's battered appearance. He parked out front and hopped out, automatically moving to open the door for Andrea more out of habit than anything. Not like she needed him opening doors for her. "I talked to Jordan. He said they were playing here and to come on by. They saved us a table close to the stage."
Andrea As she steps out of the truck once Jay opens the door for her, Andrea hops to her feet and gives a long stretch of her body. She has tried to tell herself to not be on edge while here in Kentucky. This was the place that tried to kill him, and his family, more than once. Even though the Cabots may be gone, one never knows if the stigma remains. Tonight though? She's dressed to not take a lick of shit from anyone, bumpkin or not. Wearing a pair of skinny jeans that is practically ironed upon her, as well as a haltertop that is bright silver that carries a shimmer, she will easily stand out amongst cowboy boots and flannels. She even has that streak of blue and green in her hair that she wears for her concerts, just to make her dark brown hair pop a bit.

Sliding her hand into his, the popstar gives him a wide grin and nods as she starts for the doors along with him. "I can't wait to meet them. Are they going to pull you up on stage for old time sake and have you blow the walls out of this place?" With her raised chin and confident strut, she steps through into the bar to take a look around and soak in the ambiance.

"Because if you do, I am tempted to jump up there with you. Make sure none of your old girlfriend's start throwing bras at you." She teases him.
Jay Guthrie "They never threw their bras before. Don't see them starting now," Jay returns with a grin as he squeezes her hand. At the door, he also opens it for her to let her step in first. "And knowing Jordan, he certainly will want me to get up there. He's taken over as lead singer since I left. Was bass player when I was with them."

Inside, the lighting is lower as befits a club like this. Not too much so. It's easy enough to see. It also had become a no-smoking establishment about ten years ago. Which had not gone over well at first but eventually the people adjusted. There was an alley to the side which was the 'smoker's lounge' as they called it. Thus, there was no haze of smoke hanging over the interior though it still had that sort of scent which had soaked into the wood of the structure after decades. Tables were wood, with matching chairs. Mostly. A few odd chairs had replaced ones damaged through time, so there were a few mismatches.

The crowd was still pretty strong despite it being a work night. There was a mix of ages and attires. From leather jackets and mini skirts to the more expected cowboy boots with flannel. The adults had a stamp on their hand to mark them as adults so they could purchase alcohol. Those under had no such stamp and were pretty known already, being it was a small town, so no worries about them getting anything elicit. At least not here. They had their own sources, being typical teens.

Jay led her through the crowd to the table marked reserved, with five chairs around it. He pulled out her chair for her and glanced at the band on stage.

At the front was Jordan, a brunette who wore his hair longer, which he wore well. His eyes were brown and he was built more on the slim side. He had a bass guitar slung low which he played easily while singing.

Lead Guitar was Kenny. Blonde and good looking. Quite talented with his instrument though he would never be one of the greats. He had a good voice for backup vocals as well so it made him a very powerful and needed part of the band.

Last was Trevor, their drummer. The heartbeat of any band, keeping the tempo and drawing in people with the percussion. He was also a brunette, though his hair was lighter than Jordan's. He was more strongly built, lean muscle, arms toned from many years sitting behind the skins. He was also normally the shy one of the bunch. Until he was on stage. Then he just came alive, out of his skin. He smiled, flirted, was completely outrageous and often drew the eye of many an admirer only to shock them later when he could barely speak off stage due to his discomfort.

As they sat, Jay threw a wave and got a big smile from each of his old friends. There was even a momentary wave from Trevor, accompanied by a spinning of a drumstick as though it was part of the show.
Andrea "You all were underage before. Now you'd probably have cougars here wanting to lob their size double D's at you."

Andrea takes the seat once offered, folding one leg over the other before placing her hands over her knees. She gives a jerk of her head upwards towards the band, then blows them a kiss playfully. Once Jay takes his seat next to her, she leans in against him all cozy like to establish girlfriend dominance. You may look ladies, but not touch. "They look pretty cool up there. Can't wait to hear them blow the ceiling off the place."

When a waitress swings by, she puts in an order for a diet coke and a round of wings for the table. "Your drummer is really cute though." She teases him with a side glance, giggling. "So, tomorrow, you're showing me all around the hot spots? I wanna see this smooching pond of yours that all of you guys used to go to that Sam told me about."
Jay Guthrie "This _is_ all the hot spots," Jay says with a laugh as he puts an arm around her shoulders, holding her in that comfortable embrace that comes with a well established relationship. "This isn't New York. Most places are closed by ten. At the latest. A lot are done by nine."

The band continued to play, finishing up that song then getting ready to swing into the next. Which is when they start the theme from Rawhide. Which led to a few hoots and hollers from the audience. It was old and not really much of a song yet they gave it their all, seeming very happy to be performing it.
Andrea Laughing as everyone starts to 'really' get into Rawhide, Andrea glances around the bar for a moment, brows raising. "I'm really am I in the South." She drawls out to him playfully as she leans in against him as his arm sweeps about her shoulders. Leaning in, she brushes her lips against his jaw for a kiss.

"It's also nice to either not be recognized, or not cared about. I'm used to going to clubs in New York and people trying to hug me. Is this what being normal feels like?" She winks at him as her foot taps along with the beat of the music.

"Tomorrow we can at least tour the town, then maybe hit up Lexington later if you want to spend the day. There's some places I want to check out there."
Jay Guthrie "Pretty sure they did this on purpose because of your visit. To give you the impression it's normal. Kenny is a huge Blues Brothers fan. We never ever played this before, though we did do some actual country songs from time to time," Jay says as he gives her a quick kiss on the forehead.

"You are indeed in the South. Which you will notice more once everyone comes to talk. We all sound like Sam." He shrugs a little with the shoulder she isn't against, not wanting to bounce her around with the movement. "Even me, if I don't think about sounding this way." He glanced down at her. "And yes, this is what normal feels like. But don't expect it to last long. I've already seen a few looks your way and of course the guys know who you are. But down here, we are a little slower to get our fangirling on. It's impolite but eventually, I figure you'll have some fans coming up."
Andrea "Well, I'm dressed to smash hearts tonight. I'm sure they're looking at the fact my jeans are superglued to my ass and I'm /rocking/ them tonight." Andrea grins at the kiss to her forehead. "I also love your accent. It's one of the many things that got my attention when you showed up at Xavier's that first week. A younger, red headed, sexier Sam." She says with a teasing tone in her voice as she winks at him.

"That and wings. You had me at hello. I was hooked." As she rocks back and forth along with the music, she hums along with the tune even if she isn't familiar with the song. She just likes that it's fast and rocking.

"So what are you gonna sing up there? One of your originals you wrote with them?"
Jay Guthrie "Ah mean, Ah can let the accent out completely if ya want but..." And Jay smoothly switches back to the less obvious drawl. It's there but just a hint. "I prefer to just have a little instead of that level. People seem to take you less seriously with the heavy drawl. I opted to lose it for the sake of simplicity. Don't have to work so hard to convince them I'm not a yokel."

As the band wrapped up, Jordan called out saying they were going to take a break. The usual DJ took over, cranking up the music to let the boys get something to drink and a few minutes. The trio came over to their table immediately, the server going to get their usual after dropping off Jay and Andrea's wings and drinks.

"Jordan, Kenny, Trevor, meet Andrea."
Andrea "You're back home, you can let it out tonight. I like it. Gonna start calling you cornfed." Andrea teases him as she reaches for the wings that arrive, followed by her coke. After taking a sip, she plops a few wings down on to a paperplate along with some ranch in a cup.

When the band heads over, she straightens up, giving a quick lick of her fingers before wiping them off on a napkin. "Hey guys! It's nice to finally meet you all. I've heard all of your stuff on the music that Jay brought to New York with him. You guys rock." As her eyes track each of them, she studies them for a moment, catching their scents with a subtle 'sniff'.

"How long is your break for?"
Jay Guthrie Jay did get up quickly enough to give a quick hug to each of his old bandmates. Then he was back in his seat, arm going back around Andrea.

It was Kenny who spoke first. "It's great to meetcha! And you're just bein' nice. We ain't anything compared to what you do! You're amazin'!" He has a grin on his face. He does snatch one of the wings from the platter in the middle of the table, munching down.

"About thirty minutes," Jordan answers, giving the answer to the proposed question. "Time to get some food and something to whet the whistle, so to speak."

For his part, Trevor says nothing, seeming more interested in the top of the table as he keeps his head leaned forward, gaze down.
Andrea "I don't know, I think anyone can pretty much shake their ass in glittery pants and sing love songs to high energy music. I just practice a lot. You should totally see Jay when he grooves to some of my first album's stuff. He ven knows all the dance moves." Andrea teases her beau with a grin on her face as she gives a few bobs back and forth her shoulders.

"I admit, I'm dying to get up there with you guys and sing also. There is nothing better than being in front of an audience with a 'real' band behind you instead of the speakers or a beat machine. You guys seriously sound great. I'm just a professional and trying my best to not fangirl out and throw a bra up there."

"Jay told me that you guys really like it when girls do that." There is a sly grin passed to Jay before she looks back to the others. Noticing Trevor acting shy, she reaches out to tap his hand with her finger. "You're kicking ass up there on the drums T-Rizzle."
Jay Guthrie Trevor almost jumps out of his seat. He peeks at her through his hair, which is helping obscure a bit of his face. The bonuses of having longer hair. "Thanks." And that's about it as he goes back to looking at the table.

Kenny smirks a bit over at Jay, getting a glare from the redhead and a quick jerk of the hand. Jay is trying to keep him from saying it. "Did he pretend he didn't know the choreography when you two met and got together?"

The glare from Jay gets darker.

"Cause he completely knew all your songs and all your routines from the videos. Before he left here."

To say Kenny was likely a dead man would be correct from that look Jay gives him. The rest of the group, even quiet Trevor, laughed a bit at his secret being revealed to Andrea.

"We'd love to have you up there. I have no problem giving you the mic." Jordan nods over at Jay. "We might even let him, if you get tired."
Andrea The eyes of Andrea widen as Kenny calls Jay out. That is something she did /not/ know. "Jaaay. Love of my life. You are in trouble. You made me 'teach' you all those dance moves one day because you told me you wanted to help me practice when I was on tour. You even faked pretending to be bad at it. But, I 'knew' it. There was a few songs that you picked up way too quickly for you to be a novice."

There is a wide grin on her face. "You seriously liked all of my stuff before we even met? Come on. Seriously? You being serious Kenny?" She asks with a laugh. "Jay, you sneak! Whatever. I'm flattered. My music is banging."

She has a case of the giggles as she reaches for another wing, taking a bite from it after dipping it in the ranch. "He's talked so much about you guys. He really missed all of you. So, here's a deal for you all. Since you're being cool enough to share your stage with me, how 'bout I fly all of you guys out .. first class .. to New York City and we can put on a show at his brother's club? Sammy has a rock and roll night and they have local bands. I'd love to have you guys tear up the stage."
Jay Guthrie The red of his cheeks doesn't quite match his hair but there is definitely a blush there. "I told you I had all your music in my playlist. You just thought I was being nice," he says gruffly, as though it's her fault she didn't believe him. "And I liked having you teach me. It helped me do better at it than I used to." He leans over to nuzzle against her cheek, giving her a kiss. "Forgive me?"

At the offer to the band, the trio perk up. Thefirst one to answer is, suprisingly, Trevor. "Hell yeah!"

The others chuckle. "What he said. We've been hearing about Sam's club. Heard it is amazing. Jay says the sound and lighting is top notch. Not like this place," Kenny says.

Jordan shakes his head. "This place is the best in town but yeah, not like can be setup in a fancy place in the city. It'd be great to see New York. You have to give us a tour." He's looking at Jay cause obviously Andrea would be too busy to do such a thing, right?
Andrea "Obviously we'll give you a tour. I'll book a few resturants so that you all can feel like celebrities and then freak out when you see the bill. I'll totally make a thing about it and show off. It drives Jay nuts because he'd rather just eat cornbeef hash and potpies or something instead of going to Monterey Bay and having the best fish on the East Coast at a height that overlooks half the state of New York."

Andrea is grinning after the kiss, giving her man another teasing look. "Yeah .. well .. I didn't know you were 'dancing' to them to the point your friends knew about it. And now we're living together because of how sweet your moves have been back at school."

"So, just let me know when you guys are able to make it and I'll get everything booked. There is a beautiful hotel down the street from our Penthouse that I can put you up in. Don't worry about any expenses. Will be our treat."
Jay Guthrie "Sounds amazing! We're all in. Just have to get time off from work." They all had jobs outside the gigs here. Jordan is grinning ear-to-ear as are the others. "But that'll be the trip of a lifetime. One to remember."

"I can't wait!" Kenny whined slightly. "Can't we go noooow?"

Jay shook his head again at the lot of them but then focused on Andrea. There was a wicked sparkle in his eye and she knew him well enough to know he was about to get even with his bandmates.

"Well yeah, of course my friends knew about it. Someone had to be the backup dancers back in Jordan's garage..."

Busted.

"Oh, I think the DJ is calling us back to the stage!" Kenny suddenly was leaping to his feet. The DJ had not motioned but the others followed suit, quick to try to escape the revelation that Jay was not alone in knowing her choreography from her first album.
Andrea "What? Were you guys like the Andrea Jackson fanclub or something? Or maybe just trying to be a Boy Band before you guys became a Rock Band? What was your boyband name!? Was it Boys Trying To Be Men?" She has all the jokes tonight.

"Tonight after you all get off, we're going back to that garage and we're going to dance to Backstabber! You guys better hit 'every' move." She gives a glance to Jay as they head for the stage. "You going up there or what, Timberlake?" She teases him, ruffling his hair with both of her hands as she fluffs it up.

"I'm going to scream your name so loud and pretend to break down and cry like a total fangirl. Help me unsnap my bra so I can get it ready for a good throwing."
Jay Guthrie "You are not throwing your bra--or any piece of your clothing--on that stage. These idiots will try to keep it or sell it on craigslist." Jay says even as he climbs to his feet. He pulls off his hoodie, letting his wings spread a bit as he flicks off the image inducer. Then he heads for the stage with the other guys. "We never wanted to be a boy band. And we were called the Blue Pirates." Then he is gone, jogging up on the stage and taking the center spot at the mic. Jordan moved over to the side to play the bass and just do backup vocals instead of lead.

"Hey ya'll. Been a long time but made it back so wanted to join mah friends for a song or two, if you don't mind."

And with that, the band breaks into a song with a heavy beat, the lights coming up and filling the stage. They are in their element. The music loud, the vocals on point. It's a song about being young and embracing the moment.
Andrea "Go Butt Pirates!" Andrea cheers from the table, grinning wildly to herself. Maybe she will throw a sock or two at the stage instead. If she wads one up, she can chuck it pretty far. As she eats, she leans back into the chair. When the lights come up and they start to play, she is quickly alert and attentative.

Placing a pair of fingers in her mouth, she gives a shrill whistle of excitement. She has always been his number one fan. She knows their music by way of files they played together on the computer, but it's nothing in comparison to watching it live.

Shivering, she claps her hands along with the beat, stomping a foot as well heavily beneath the wooded floor.
Jay Guthrie After the first song, the crowd joins Andrea in her adoration. There is alot of cheering and clapping. The group moves smoothly to the next beat. It's one that the crowd knows going by the reactions. It is not one Jay had shared with Andrea before. After all, not all their songs had been recorded for him to share. This was one of their go-tos.

The music was country, as was the tempo. Jay's twang was evident a bit as he embraced the lyrics. The others joined in as necessary to support. Then about a minute in, the tone started getting angrier. Edgier. By a minute and a half, it exploded into a protest against all the things, loud, demanding to be heard as the beat went pure rock.
Andrea A new song! Andrea is all ears as she listens. When the song switches up gears, she explodes from her seat, throwing her arms upwards in clenched fists as she gives a loud shout over the crowd. She almost howls out of her throat as she is bouncing on her feet. Excitement is ripping through her veins like gasoline that just caught fire. She's never heard him sing like this before with such intensity. The lyrics were insane, recordable, made to revel to.

She looks over to the others in the bar, as if to ask them if they were hearing the same song as she was. She can feel the emotion just rushing through her. She gives a quick shake of her fist up and down as if she was holding a drum sticks, sucking in a deep, emotional breath.

Plucking one of her shoes off, she lobs it on to the stage with a hard throw. In Hollywood, that is one of the highest awards one can receive from a fellow artist.
Jay Guthrie It's also a southern thing. It started there. Throwing in the shoe that was was the ultimate compliment in some places. It is recognized for it is though even if Jordan has to sidestep since he was about to walk where it landed. He grins her way then continues to backup the strong angry lyric.

Then for the end, it slows, going back to more the beginning, getting that final point across after getting their attention with the few verses before.

As it ends, the crowd goes absolutely crazy, just as Andrea was doing. They definitely felt tha tone. It fed a lot of their feelings, their stress given voice in a miner's life.
Andrea When the song ends, Andrea is jumping up and down on one shoed foot, screaming her guts out as if she was just a normal fan girl at her first big concert. She reaches up to wipe the tears from her eyes. She feels sick with giddy emotions in the pit of her stomach. This is surely how Beiber fans must have felt when he first hit the scene. She is just awestruck by how incredible they sounded, how deep those lyrics were.

".. I want my shoe back!" She hollers out towards them before she sinks back down into her chair once the crowd stops clapping. She is all grins, wild and excited as she tries to come down from her high. She is even trembling.
Jay Guthrie "My shoe now!" Kevin yells as he picks it up. He ven takes a whiff of it then waves his hand under his nose, causing a few laughs. Obviously, she does not actually have stinky feet but it is a fun joke. He tosses it to Jay who gives a final wave to the crowd. Two songs is enough for a visitor. At least, for now. Unless.

"We have another special guest here tonight. And if she wants her shoe back, Ah'm gonna suggest she hop her pretty little self right up here to sing a song to pay for it. I know just how expensive this thing was." He shows off the shoe to the crowd, getting laughs and cheers.

Now her fans are on their feet, starting to chant. " 'drea... 'drea...."
Andrea As she listens to the crowd cheer her name, Andrea lets out a soft laugh as she rubs the back of her neck. Pushing herself up to her feet, she lifts a hand upwards for a quick wave before she makes her way to the stage. Once she does, she reaches out to take the shoe from Kevin with a smirk, then tugs it on. No stinky feet for her! Not after that pedicure she got right before the flight. Her toes are on point.

"I really wasn't expecting to sing tonight to be honest. I just came here to watch The Blue Pirates because they're my favorite band." She ponders for a moment as she takes a look around at the crowd who are waiting in anticipation. Reaching up, she takes the microphone from the stand, winding the cable around one of her arms so that she won't trip over it.

Turning to the band, she leans in to whisper to them, sneaking a glance to Jay as she does. When she makes her way to the center of the stage, she shifts from girl next door to performer, her movements becoming confident and poised. From there, the bass guitar kicks in first in a familiar tune that is ripped out of the 80's, followed by the snare of the drums.

Fleetwood Mac - Edge of Seventeen.

As she throws her free fist upwards, her raspy voice comes out in that powerful tone that she is used to ripping out for a larger stadium.

"Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song
Sounds like she's singing!
Ooh ooh ooh!
Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song
Sounds like she's singing!
Oh baby oh said oh!"

"And the days go by
Like a strand in the wind
In the web that is my own
I begin again
Said to my friend, baby
Nothin' else mattered!"

"He was no more than a baby then
Well he seemed broken hearted
Something within him
But the moment that I first laid
Eyes on him all alone
On the edge of seventeen!"

As she roams the stage like a wolf, her body is bobbing up and down along with the lyrics as the instruments grow louder and more wild. She rocks her hips and twists her knees as she goes, pounding her fist up against the air. This is a far cry from her popstarlet moments with flashing lights and backup dancers. She is showcasing the rawness of her voice, belting out the tones and diving deep into the lyrics of a song that was written for her and Jay decades ago.
Jay Guthrie Hearing her choice, Jay has to smile. It's a great song. And fitting for her to choose. Now he gets the look she had sent his way. He moved toward backstage but only for a moment. There were extra instruments there and he snagged a guitar of his own, coming back out and joining in with the rest of the band.

Now she was the star and, as was their purpose, the band was there to frame her, show her off. They played to perfection, enjoying getting the play backup for one of their favorite singers. They were all secretly fangirling, they just weren't going to show it. Didn't matter. Andrea had to know now that their 'boy band' days were revealed.
Andrea As she sings, Andrea soaks it all in. She's never sang before in an old, small town bar before, where she can cut loose without a schedule, without a manager, without stage lights. She can just be an artist here, singing with an incredible band behind her. No pop music. No gimmicks. No dance moves.

As the song ends, she starts to stomp her foot hard upon the stage to create a new beat. THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. THUMP.

The band will have to guess what she is about to sing, but she waits for the crowd to start clapping along with her beat.

THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. THUMP.

"No one knows how I feel!
What I say unless you read between my lines!
One man walked away from me!
First, he took my hand, take me home!"

"STAND BACK! STAND BACK!
In the middle of my room!
I did not hear from you!
It's all right, it's all right!
To be standing in a line!
Shetanding in a line!
I would /cry!/"

As the bass guitar once more kicks in behind her, the drum hammers away as the band picks up what she is putting down. Stevie Nicks. Stand Back. She's in the zone right now for this particular genre. She gives a few hops along the stage, followed by a stage before she heads into the next lyrics.

"Do not turn away, my friend
Like a willow I can bend
No man calls my name
No man came!"

So I walked on down away from you
Maybe your attention was more
Than you could do!
One man did not call -
He asked me for my love
And that was all

"Stand back, stand back!
In the middle of my room
I did not hear from you
It's all right, it's all right
To be standing in a line
Standing in a line!
Standing in a line!"

As she finds herself next to Jay, she pushes her back up against his as he hits that beautiful guitar solo, she gives the microphone a spin along the cable a few times before she snatches it out of thin air to roar out the last of the lyrics along with the band to back her up.
Jay Guthrie Jay had been about to give the solo to Jordan but his buddy gave a short negative jerk of his head and nodded to him. Thus the torch was passed to Jay.

As Andrea joined him, he picked out the notes expertly. Honestly, it was one he knew though not perfectly so there may have been a few off yet fake it til ya make it was a saying for a reason. No one cared if they did notice by the cheers they were getting.

Those cheering for her. Those cheering for him. Those who loved the band even when they weren't there. It was a perfect mix and the crowd was loving every second.
Andrea With the song ending as intense as it began, Andrea is all grins as she throws her hands upwards, spreading them out to accept the roar of the crowd. Breathing heavily, she glances over to her winged beau, then grabs him by the front of the shirt to tug him closer. She lays a passionate kiss into him, hearing the whistles and Ooooooohs! It's a kiss that is captured on camera phones and most likely will be trending for a few hours before the media moves on to something else. At least one lucky customer will have a chance to go viral.

After leaning back, she licks her lips with a grin, sliding a hand along her cheek. "Damn, you are so hot." She growls out to him in a husky tone before she eases back with a grin. "Thank you everyone! I'll give the stage back to these incredible guys. I really appreciate the chance to sing tonight for all of you." She gives a motion of her hands to the rest of the band before she goes to hop off the stage.
Jay Guthrie The kiss is returned with equal fervor. Jay's alive. Vibrant. This is his world and she got to see him in his element. Certainly he is like this on the stage at Club Evo yet now with his friends, his brothers from another mother, it is more magical perhaps.

He gives a few hugs and a fist bump to Trevor before heading back to the table with Andrea. Now those fans are more daring, a few coming up to get selfies and autographs. Thankfully it is over in about five minutes, leaving them to their drinks and bar food. Wings, chili cheese fries, even some nachos.
Andrea Once the fans sneak away from the table, Andrea is practically bouncing in her seat as she crams a nacho into her mouth. After a quick chew and swallow, she gives a lick of her lips happily. Giving him another grin, she practically giggles in a girlish manner. "That was insane. We should .. just .. record an album. Blue Pirates! Just a full album of kicking ass with wailing guitars and loud drums and insane lyrics. I want to do something like this so bad. I haven't felt more alive on stage in awhile."

Curling her arms around his, she props her chin on his shoulder, nibbling along his neck a few times before she reaches for another nacho. She can at least eat these. "Think the guys would go for it? I don't even want my name on it. I just want to sing with you guys and just .. go crazy."
Jay Guthrie Her happiness is infectious. Jay pulls her close, giving a laugh and he can't seem to stop smiling. "I mean, I'm sure they would consider it. But we never had any illusions that we would be something big. Big here was enough for us. We didn't aspire to much. Just to have our music heard."

He glances up at the guys who have moved into another they used to perform together, one she has heard from their old tapes. It is a bit slower, easing the crowd back in to build it back up with their next numbers in the set. It's all very strategic.

"You had those big heads behind you kind of forcing you into their niche a lot. Here you could be free. And it would get the music heard, right? So, we'll talk to them tonight, after. See if they would like to go jam with you in a studio."
Andrea "To be honest, I've been thinking of .. uh .. doing something.. Starlight Studios. A small grassroots studio and production team that is designed to showcase up and coming mutant talent. You 'technically' count as up and coming mutant talent, thus, I'd totally justify having The Blue Pirates signed to the label. As much as I love my relationship with Sony, I want to do something for our people, even if it's on a small scale. Just something so that people have experience and learning the babysteps of recording, contract building, getting on the streaming sites."

Andrea shrugs her shoulders upwards as she slides her hand into his, fingers curling about tightly. "But, otherwise, I am just happy to fly out here and jam once in awhile also and just have fun. The world is filled with too much generic pop music now these days. We need to bring music like this back to the ears of the people."
Jay Guthrie "I had wondered," Jay admitted. "I knew you had sort of said a thing here or there. Made me wonder if you were thinking of your own studio. Didn't realize you were thinking mutant talent exclusively but it makes sense."

He glances up at his friends jamming, knowing they deserved the chance to try for more. If they wanted it. No pressure but a possibility. "Contracts, all that is foreign to us. Always was. If anyone ever came out here to no where, we would've been the ones to get taken for a ride by a big studio and never see a dime. It would be great to be able to educate and help people like us. Them."
Andrea "That's why finding a good lawyer is important. Someone not related to you. Someone who knows the industry. Someone that has a proven track record. Always maximize for the long game, not the short gain. That's another thing I had to learn fast. Don't just take easy money up front. Go for royalties and subsidies. Percentages of tour sales such as tickets and merch. Most managers want to swallow up a majority of it and then you don't see more than crumbs. You have to always know what your value is."

Andrea nods her head a few times, giving him a nudge. "I want Starlight to be the epicenter of mutant ownership at some point. I don't know how I will do it .. maybe with a blank check from Warren Worthington and Roberto DaCosta, but I want to build something that is for mutants, by mutants. No strings attached. It's just my big, big, big dream."

"I just have to do babysteps until I get there. But, I will get there. It's destiny."
Jay Guthrie That gets a grin from Jay. "If there is one thing I've learned about you, it's that you will achieve what you want when you put your mind to it. I have no doubt of that."
