Owner Pose
Lex Luthor The trip had been quick and uneventful. The helicopter was a civilian covert security model with a decent passenger cabin, with Lex and his bodyguards on one side, Catwoman and Spike on the other. The trip into Metropolis from above has Lex texting something back and forth on a LexOS tablet most of the ride over.

There's already a set of doctors and a mobile medical lab setup to take Spike when they land on top of LexCorp Tower itself. "I want a full biological scan. No one is to know he's here." Lex turns his head to bore his eyes into each one of them. "Am I clear?" One of the doctors nods to the order as heads to the elevator, which shuts as Lex and Catwoman head for it casually.

His hands come up behind his back as he inquires, "what's your interest in this? You've always struck me as a bit of a loner."
Selina Kyle Catwoman wasn't a big fan of copters but it couldn't be helped. hey, she's a cat, she prefers to stay on the ground or the shadows, hidden from sight. Sigh..

She doesn't say much on the trip really, just stares quietly out the window. Why's it have to be so loud anyway? And all that stuff. She's only partly listening to Lex's orders and talking to the doctors and by the time they get to the Medical lab, Catwoman is only too happy to get out.

Still, labs are not much better. Too bright, too sterile, nowhere to hide. People poking at you. She blinks as Lex addresses her, snapping back to reality. "Me? Well.." She shrugs, "Guess allies are useful, especially when they can actually fight back..I suppose we share..Similar interests, he and I." the way she looks at spike though suggests there's more to it than 'useful allies'.
Lex Luthor "It's hardly a secret that alliances are beneficial when you are considering doing what we are doing." Lex almost scoffs at Catwoman. Almost. It's edged with a hint of casualness. "That you're in the organization shows you have the sense of knowing that going solo in this sort of world is only going to get you so far." Lex presses the button for his personal express elevator, and moves in front of it. He continues to face towards the door as he speaks. "I've always had you pegged as a freelancer loner who gets results. Are you saying you want to start coming up into the global leagues, Catwoman?"
Selina Kyle Catwoman shrugs, "Well there you go, it's no longer safe, going it alone. Not with so many bigger, badder competitors out there." she smirks at the thought, and really it makes sense. Even if she's not all that fond of people.

"Well..Just because I'm allied with one particular individual doesn't mean I'm about to start a little fanclub or anything. If I must work with others, I'd rather keep it small, do my own thing, knowing that they're not a potential threat, you know what I'm saying?"

She peers up at the elevator, following Lex once it arrives. "Anymore questions?"
Lex Luthor The elevator stops, and the 'ding' sounds. Lex steps inside and turns around, looking to Catwoman as an index finger moves to a button... but doesn't press it yet. "Plenty."

As the elevator begins to go down, Lex side glances to Catwoman, "Doing your own thing doesn't get you the big payouts." Lex notes. "Are you just in it for the thrill?"
Selina Kyle Catwoman arches a slow brow at that, nodding slowly. "Oh, you're right of course. Guess I just prefer a low profile. Of course, it seems that allying myself with the Light was a wise move in that case. We all do our own thing, unless you call us in for a special job. Sounds perfect for me."

As for the thrill, well that causes her to chuckle just a bit. "Mm, the thrill is always a big factor in my life too of course. Isn't life just a big game afterall? And I'd rather live life to the fullest, go out in a bang than a whisper, if I can help it. But no, even aside from that, it pays the bills. It's not like I have a regular job, afterall. And of course, I'm one of the most talented Catburglars out there, otherwise, I wouldn't even be here now, would I?"
Lex Luthor "Motivation is important in our organization." Lex offhandedly mentions, "but loyalty is more. Luckily for all involved, there are failsafes against double agents and the like."

A the elevator continues down, Lex glance to the side, at Selina, "Unless something has changed on your end, you have been a freelancer for us, not formally allied. Are you looking to revise your position in our heirarchy?"
Selina Kyle Selina Kyle studies Lex thoughtfully and shrugs, "Of course. I can understand a need for loyalty and dedication of course.." she smiles smoothly, "Although I can't help but feel curious about these..Fail save mechanisms.." and that does set off some red flags of course.

As for her current position, Catwoman just smiles, "I do rather enjoy my freedom in my current position, although I am curious what a...Promotion might require? You know I value a bit of freedom above all else."
Lex Luthor "Freelancers only get a bare minimum of access to the portal network, and don't get free access to our better equipment. You also don't get any information you don't need to know." He looks to the doors then, and folds his hands behind his back as the elevator gets to a halfway point. "When you're a freelancer, you're an asset we call upon at arms length. You know this, it's why you choose that position."

There's a pause, before he continues, "joining us formally means you never have to worry about finances again, and you are formally committed to our plans and goals. It also means that you consent to a memory wipe of anything related to the Light if you ever decide to leave us." He glances back to Selina, "as you may imagine, our organization wouldn't work without a way to trust our information control. The council and all our agents are under this protocol."
Selina Kyle Catwoman smiles and nods, "Of course. That is why I chose to be a freelancer. Like I said, I enjoy my freedom.."however, the promise of a secure income, more power and information is...Well, tempting. But.." Yeah..Not too keen on a memory wipe, not sure I'd be fully committed either. Think I'm good where I am. I'm sure Spike would feel the same way. He'd be happy to help but he too, enjoys his freedom." and that too, has her second guessing her request for him to help them in removing his chip. Cats sure seems a bit troubled for a moment before quickly hiding her expression with a cool smile.
Lex Luthor "We are an organization that prides itself on being at the top of the food chain in many areas, but that makes for jealous rivals. If someone with full knowledge of our interests defected, you can imagine the damage that would do to our plans. It's the only safe method of keeping operational security. I don't imagine you to be interested in that level of commitment, though, yes. There are plenty of other benefits, but I've never pegged you as one willing to submit to any authority."
Selina Kyle Catwoman is of course tempted. It's nice not to have to look over your shoulder constantly, and goodness knows she has many enemies in her line of work. But can she afford the risk or commitment? "Hmm, that is a tantalizing offer, one worth giving more thought to. Which I will certainly do.." she smirks a bit at the submitting part, shaking her head slowly, "You are correct in that regard. But I think we have a decent working relationship as it is. Don't you?"
Lex Luthor "We do, to a point." Lex notes, "However, I would ne negligent in my time if I didn't try to tempt you into commiting to us fully. You are a talented and resourceful woman, even with your limitations. Think of what a Light sponsored gear set and enhancements could provide you. Not to mention safehouses across the world, and a transportation network that makes aircraft obsolete." Lex glances to the elevator doors as they open to a white hallway, and he starts to step out, Mercy and Hope keeping up behind. "You make due with what you have splendidly... but there's always room for improvement, and you have the security of knowing your gear can be replaced, or ideas you have taken and prototyped by the best in the world at engineering."
Selina Kyle Catwoman smiles, nodding to Hope and Mercy as they pass them by. "Mmm, that does sound very promising..I'm sure Spike would be tempted too..Although I wouldn't have the freedom to turn down a job that I do now. Still.." she shrugs, "I promise you that I will give it some deep thought." she smiles, "Kinda makes me wonder how you became so massively successful yourself, although I suspect you were one of those incredible child geniuses." she smiles, clearly more curious about his own history.
