Selina Kyle Mutant Town has always been a crime ridden place, moreso these days with fear over the latest Mutant Cure that was released a day ago. And while mutants seemed divided on the matter, that just made tensions all the worse, pitting mutant against mutant.

Sooo why did she come here again? Oh right, because she was looking for someone..Someone whose unique skills might help her track down a certain copycat thief..And ultimately lead her to a big treasure in the long run.

Now, if only she could get some useful information on him..It doesn't help that she has acquired a tail, in the form of five mutant thugs who follow her into the dark alleyway, blocking off her exit from both sides.

Of course, many people have heard of the infamous Catwoman, enough to know she's not a mutant. "Get outta here, human! Or we'll cut ya up!" one of the mutants, a big burly guy warns, but looks like they won't give her a chance to flee either way as they approach her, carrying various weapons, and energy balls, and natural spikes.
Riana Mackenzie      Despite the recent unrest in Bushwick, Riana was not about to give up on her dreams of opening a martial arts studio. In point of fact, she had found a fairly decent location within an easy walk from her home. Like so many dreamers before her, especially during the holiday season, she had gone to the small storefront building to look it over and make plans.

But since when did plans ever go smoothly?

What should have been a quiet walk back to her apartment was disturbed by the rather ugly sounds that, even over the hustle and bustle of local nightlife, were easy enough for her to pick out. "Mo Dhia, it doesn't rain, it pours." Whereas her gait had been punctuated with the light tap-tap-tapping of one end of a wooden bo staff on the pavement, she now grips it in a more battle-ready manner, making straight for the alleyway. Whoever was there, was in for a world of hurt, and she wouldn't just turn a blind eye.

With a sharp swish as her staff cut through the air, the length of wood is aimed right at the kidneys of one of Catwoman's attackers, borne by a titian-haired fury. "Bugger off!"
Selina Kyle Catwoman narrows her eyes, turning around to face some of her attacker and crouches with whip in hand, ready for anything. And while she's a decent martial artist in her own right, Catwoman is more built for quick strikes, in and out and stealth - less so for taking on multiple heavy hitters, With super powers to boot.

Not that she's about to back down now, of course. "Settle down boys, I'm not here to cause trouble, just looking for a..Mutant acquaintance of mine.." she purrs but her explanation is ignored, in fact, only adding more fuel to the fire as the big burly guy rushes at her with a roar.

Too bad he's not as agile as he is muscular. Catwoman whips out her whip, entangling his legs and jerks on them, pulling him off his feet and sending his bulk crashing into a second thug.

Riana's well-placed strike hits on mark, knocking the wind out of her target, and he stumbles back, momentarily stunned. Two more punks turn on her, one hurling an energy ball at her, the other rushing at her, bouncing off the walls with some sort of bouncing ability as he hurls himself at her like a giant rubber ball. "Back off missy!"
Riana Mackenzie      Rubber ball, meet immovable target. Riana takes up a strong fighting stance, reaching out to grip Mr. Rubber Ball Man by whatever passes for clothing as he hurls himself at her. If successful, she twists and turns, adjusting his trajectory so it is he, and not her, that hopefully meets the incoming energy ball, hitting the decks herself in the process. Energy might not electrocute rubber, but it probably didn't feel all that great, either!

As she rolls to the side and gets to her feet, coming up roughly back-to-back with Catwoman, she holds her staff slantwise across her body, in a bid to shield her erstwhile ally from behind. "What the hell did you do to stir up this hornet's nest?" she asks, keeping an eye on the attackers that remain.
Selina Kyle Rubberman yelps as he gets thrown into energy guy's trajectory, knocking him over at the same time that both of them get blasted. Which leaves Big Burly, who managed to disentangle himself from his ally, a wiry guy who seems quite quick on his feet.

They both roar as they rush in at the two women, going for a pincher attack from opposite ends. Catwoman smirks as she tackles fast guy this time, darting back as wiry guy lashes out at her with an eye blurring array of powerful kicks, darting and ducking and somersaulting out of the way of some kicks, though some of them strike home and she gasps, staggering back.

"Phew, I wasn't exactly expecting this kinda welcome, I was just looking for a certain mutant, an acquaintance in all honesty.." she gasps between exchanges with wiry guy.

At the same time, Burly guy yells and charges head first at Riana, attempting to head butt and ram her into the nearby wall.
Riana Mackenzie      Well, crap. This was not going to be a good day, was it....

     ...for Burly Guy.

Taking aim with a front kick straight to Burly Guy's abdomen, Riana lets fly with a sharp ki-yah. This time, it was with more of her strength brought to bear, enough to send her attacker flying across the street from the alleyway, if it connects.

"Really? I'd be surprised if anyone's willing to talk these days, it's been getting pretty messy around here lately." She gives her staff a bit of a twirl for good measure, in a move that seemed more traditional in its general restraint--but with just enough flair to suggest perhaps a different influence altogether.

     "And STAY OUT!"
Selina Kyle Burly guy, it seems, is not quite as strong as Riana, or at least she got one up on him as he goes flying in a pile to join the others. Catwoman meanwhile, ducks low, snagging wiry guy around the legs and trips him up like the other guy earlier, tugging him to fly towards the pile of unconscious thugs.

"Phew, talk about a welcome wagon.." she blood from her mouth, glancing to check on her surprise ally and arches a brow, "Wow, not even a scratch for you huh.." she smiles and nods, "Well done, thanks for the assist. Nice to know not all mutants are as hostile as this lot.."
Riana Mackenzie      "Probably just got lucky," Riana says, pulling a small pack of tissues from the front pocket of her hoodie. She reaches out with these towards Catwoman, dipping her head. "Looks like you need these more than I do." She's leaning on her staff more like a walking stick now, taking a moment to catch her breath from the short--but rather nasty--fight. "Name's Riana, by the way. Who are you looking for?"
Selina Kyle Catwoman smiles and nods, gratefully accepting the tissue and busies herself wiping blood from her lip cut. "Thanks, guess we showed them, hmmm?" she practically purrs, taking this all in stride. Probably does this on a regular basis. Probably enjoys it.

"Lucky, heh. I could do with some of that luck, haven't had any luck tracking down this guy..Oh, his name is Remy Lebeau. Have you heard of him? Figured being a mutant, this might be a good place to start looking for him."
Riana Mackenzie      One finely arched titian red brow lofts, and for several long moments, Riana goes dead silent. There is a tell-tale flush to her cheeks, a twinkle to her sage green eyes, and her lips quirk upwards in a wry grin. "Guess that depends on why you're looking for him, miss." Indeed--what would the infamous Catwoman be doing, looking for Gambit?
Selina Kyle Catwoman smirks, a twinkle in her own, emerald eyes, narrowed and cunning as a true cat's. "Fair enough question. Actually, he assisted me in busting a burglary back in Gotham, run by a copycat burglar to be honest.." she does look rather annoyed at that.

Catwoman is also hesitant to say too much to this stranger, but likely won't get far otherwise. "Well, to make a long story short, she was also involved in some kidnapping of mutants, but she git away..Except Mr. Lebeau I believe, out a tracker on her. Since I've been having trouble trying to find her lately, I was hoping Remy might have some leads, but I've had no luck in finding him lately, either.."

She peers thoughtfully at Riana as if sizing her up, wondering if she said too much, but she did help her out just now, and that has earned her a bit of trust at least.
Riana Mackenzie      That news of kidnapping mutants earns a black scowl from Riana, her grip on her staff tightening. For a moment the wood seems to creak in her grasp, until she realizes what she's doing. Taking a deep breath, she closes her eyes, allowing herself to breathe through the rage and calm down. "It wouldn't be difficult for me to find him," she replies. "And in fact, if kidnapping of mutants is involved, I'll make a point of it."

Her eyes open, and she seems to be sizing up Catwoman herself. That much information from her was a considerable mark of trust. Perhaps a little was due in return. "You see, he's my boyfriend."
Selina Kyle Catwoman nods, mirroring a grim expression. "Indeed, and if I'm correct, she has something..Special planned for them. Seems this..CatLady runs around with a demonic Panther which she uses to infect people and make them do her bidding, much like she did myself. I know when I'm in over my head."

She arches a curious brow as Riana reveals her connection to him and smiles, "Is that so? How nice..So does he live around these parts then? Or will I need to make an appointment?"
Riana Mackenzie      "Won't say where he lives, but I'm here in town." Some measure of trust there might be, but even that only went so far. Riana leans a bit more heavily on her staff, pressing her lips together in a thin line. "I'm very close to finally getting a dojo up and running, but in light of these kidnappings, I'll probably hold off a little while longer. I'm not happy with the idea of putting potential students at risk trying to get to lessons."

Thinking for a moment longer, she lifts her shoulders in a shrug, fishing a pen and a scrap of paper from her hoodie pocket. Scribbling something down, she offers it to Catwoman. "My number. Don't know about you, but if someone's hurting kids, I want to see them go down."
Selina Kyle Catwoman nods slowly, thoughtfully. But of course she just met her, and she doesn't know her well enough to trust her with that information, or so Catwoman suspects. "I see, well, since this matter is relatively urgent, I hope you are able to relay my message as soon as possible."

Still, Catwoman accepts the number with a nod and offers one of her own, a stylized business card of sorts with nothing more than her name and a possibly untraceable number to reach her at.

"Do be a dear and give me a call should you find him, hmm? But I should really head back to Gotham soon.." she tilts her head at Riana, giving her a smooth smile, "It was nice to meet you, Riana, I'm sure we'll cross paths again.."
