Owner Pose
Kian     Kian needs open spaces. That's probably not surprising, being the creature of the air that he is. And he's getting braver about where he flies, not least since always going to the same place gets boring, fast.
He hasn't been here before, that's for certain, because he would remember seeing that large and oddly shaped structure below. And being a naturally curious sort, he can't help but dive down and investigate further.
The layout makes no sense to him from above. From down at its level, however, it makes far, far too much sense -- when he realizes he's looking at a giant roaring cat, he lets out a startled "/KI-AI/!" and backs away sharply.
And trips, aerially speaking, over the patio railing and tumbles downward. He manages to right himself and land, a little harder than usual. He remains in a low crouch, surrounded by a building of a giant feline.
    What madness *is* this?
WilyKat It's Cat's Lair, the place Kian was told of in some form. Or was he?

The structure dominates the area, looming large over anything else nearby, including the woods in the vicinity. To someone unaware of what it is or who lives there, it might be imposing, intimidating, even frightening.

The other Thundercats are either inside or off doing other things, but WilyKat is outside doing...chores of some kind? He's around the garden area, toting a few things around while looking somewhat dejected. Maybe Tygra roped him into it. Maybe he said 'Whiskers' one too many times and is being punished.

Whatever the case, the sound of someone above draws his attention once he's left the garden en route to another part of the lair, leaving him to openly stare at the winged intruder. What's going on? Is it an attack? Are they in danger? Why aren't the alarms sounding?

...wait. He looks familiar. "Kian?" Did he get the name right?
Kian     The birdman looks up very slightly. "Khat?" Well, not bad, really -- and let's be generous, Kian looks very pale and rattled. Slowly, he stands up, turning towards the voice, and nods once in mute greeting when he sees Kat. A familiar, if still slightly unnerving, face. After a moment of staring blankly, he breaks into rapid, twittering speech, evidently assuming that WilyKat still has the translator he used before. <<What is this place? Where am I? What are you doing here? There was a giant roaring...>> He trails off, and looks up, and goes pale again. <<...that!>>
Also, it doesn't take a degree in ornithology to see that he's holding his left wing a little lower than the right, and a little more tightly folded to his back.
WilyKat "Yes..Kat," he answers, wavering between staying where he is and offering a hand toward Kian to help him up. He ends up just watching, looking around to make sure nobody else is going to come rushing out to attack or otherwise overreact. Then, WilyKat explains.

"This is our home. Cat's Lair. It's meant to look the way it does, and it's a lot like the one back home." He's studying Kian more closely, alert enough to take note of the wing that's being favored. "You're hurt," he says, the translator taking care of things right now.
Kian     <<I... struck something. That-->> Kian points at the giant roaring effigy above, and shudders. <<--startled me. I couldn't tell what it was from above, and when I got in front of it and saw, I, I panicked.>> He stretches and re-folds the wing, wincing a little. <<Nothing permanent. I need to rest it a little while, and then I can fly on it again.>>
He takes in the giant paws of the building on either side of him, and shudders again, but only a little. <<My people would *never* believe this.>>
WilyKat WilyKat takes on a mildly amused look as he can't help but say, "Next time you should be a little more careful of what you're flying so close to, so you don't hit something." Isn't that advice just so useful right now? He's still peering at the wing in question, possibly trying to gauge how damaged it really is. "What wouldn't they believe? That a place like this is here?"
Kian     <<I think it's fair to say,>> Kian says primly, <<that I scarcely expected to face a roaring, building-sized demo... er, sorry.>> He swallows hard. <<I guess there's a difference between knowing intellectually that you and your people aren't our demons, and knowing it emotionally as well.>>
He takes a deep breath. <<What most of them wouldn't believe is that I'm standing here talking to you, and not trying to fly away, even on a bruised wing.>> Kian grins a little. <<I hardly believe it myself and I'm the one standing here doing it.>>
WilyKat WilyKat's mouth thins out slightly when the demon thing is brought up again, but he shows a hint of tact in answering, "You've been..used to things being a certain way. Now they're not, and it's confusing." Easy for him to say this, for there are reasons to think like that. "And it's not like I'm going to try to eat you, so I don't know why you'd have to try to fly away," he adds, gesturing with his hands out.
Kian     <<I know, and I know you're not, and I'm trying very hard,>> Kian says, a little wearily. <<On the plus side, you're one thing that's not like home that I'm /glad/ is not like home. So far the only thing that really makes sense on this mad little world are the forests. I can come out here and breathe normally for a while.>> He glances up at the building again, but this time he doesn't seem to shrink away from it. Instead, his wings spread a little and hang more relaxedly. At least the right one does. He's still holding the left one close.
WilyKat "I know it's not easy," WilyKat admits, going on to say, "Because..I've had to deal with some of it too. Both of us are from different planets, and it's hard to figure everything out so fast when nothing makes sense. I just wish I could go back home and have a mama and papa that are okay and everyone's safe, but I can't."

He paces a few feet away, side to side, and the angle of his tail droops slightly as a way of showing his mood. "The trees are nice, at least," he agrees, a brief smile included. "I think things will get better. You just have to have hope."
Kian     Kian nods, thinking about his friends and family back home, and his wings sag a little. He shakes his head clear -- dwelling on the past, however recent, isn't going to help matters any. <<They will, I think. I am going to have to try to make things get better, at least. I trust my Gods, but I also know They expect me to be responsible for myself first.>>
He straightens up, and spreads his wings, and, <<Ow! Nnh, that was not very smart...>> he complains, reaching back to rub a spot just past the big joint on his left wing. <<Wasn't ready to extend that yet, I guess.>>
WilyKat It would be easy for either of them to get down and depressed about things they can't go back and change. Just thinking about it and discussing it doesn't help WilyKat very much, so it's important to focus on things he can do something about. "If you say so," he answers as far as Kian's gods go, knowing absolutely nothing about them. It's not even certain whether or not the Thundercats actually worship specific gods.

"Is that going to be all right?" he asks, gesturing toward the wing while stopping short of reaching out to try touching it. So far, the translator is still working the way it ought to, in spite of a word or two possibly lost along the way.
Kian     <<I think so,>> Kian says without too much strain in his voice. <<What I really need is to get a cold pack on it.>> He looks doubtfully back towards the city. <<I hate to impose, but is there a chance you have one? Or some ice in a plastic bag?>>
WilyKat "Maybe you just bruised it," WilyKat supposes, rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't know anything about how to make it better." As he, too, eyes the way back toward Huntsinger and beyond, he turns back at the question of cold packs and ice, brows scrunched together. "I've heard 'Ice, Ice, Baby,'" he offers, which is probably of little to no help right now.
Kian     Kian nods, once. <<I think that's all. Nothing feels broken. It would hurt a LOT more if it was broken. I just hit that railing pretty good when I panicked.>> No use sugar-coating it, panicking is exactly what he did.
He shakes his head, chuckling softly. <<I can just /hear/ my coach letting me have it for sloppy flight and not paying attention... and she'd be right, too.>>
Kian looks up at the building again. <<Is there no freezer oir ice chest in there? Or cold water source?>>
WilyKat WilyKat shakes his head, but he stops shy of making one of those clucking, tsking sounds. "I may have crashed my hoverboard once or twice. That's kind of similar, right?" More than once or twice, if anyone's actually counting. "Your coach?" he wonders, then he motions for Kian to follow. "We have water, yes. I don't know how any of this stuff is designed, but I think we have something."
Kian     Kian follows uncertainly, and as soon as his eyes adjust to the dimmer indoor light, he stares -- but not in panic. <<This is a sensibly designed room!>> he says appreciatively, looking up into the vaulted ceiling, around at all the open space. <<I could fly in here!>> Predictably, the thought causes him to instinctively spread his wings again, which just as predictably leads to <<Ow! Well, not right this instant.>>
WilyKat WilyKat grimaces at the reaction to the room, or more the reaction to the desire to fly in it. This, after he's led the way into the gigantic main area inside. "It isn't cramped, at least," he nods, another little smile following as he goes on further. "Why don't you just look around for a little bit while I go see what I can find? I'll let the others know you're here, unless you don't want me to. They might want to see you."
Kian     <<Others--?>> Kian says absently, then blinks as his eyes widen. <<Oh. Yes. You can't have built all this by yourself, could you? I... don't know. How many others? I can't promise my nerve will hold if there are too many. I'm still learning,>> he adds with a small, shy smile.
WilyKat "Yes, the other Thundercats," WilyKat explains. "There's Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, and WilyKit is my sister." If there are any others, he's deliberately leaving them out. "Lion-O is our leader," he adds. "And Tygra and Panthro worked on the designs and all the building, but the Berbils helped. They're these..robot bears. They're small. You'll see them around."
Kian     <<I don't know what b-bers are,>> Kian says, stumbling over the unfamiliar word, <<but robots I understand. We have them. They tended my land and home. They probably still are, unless it's been reassigned since my disappearance. That was my last order anyway, maintain the home until my return.>>
<<Five others,>> he muses. <<I was afraid you meant hundreds. I think I could handle five. As long as they don't get too close. I could not prevent making mental contact and I am not mentally calm enough yet for that to be a good idea.>>
WilyKat WilyKat frowns, trying to work out how to best describe them when one happens to come rolling through right on cue. It looks sort of like a fuzzy metallic ball before it stops and the proper appendages and head pop out of openings in the main, round body.

"Greetings, friend WilyKat," it waves, the expression locked in without fluctuating. "Greetings, bird-man visitor," it adds to Kian, facing him momentarily. "Ro-Bear-Bob busy in garden," is the last thing it says before rolling out again.

"That..is one of the Ro-Bears," Kat follows up with. "And we had to escape from home when we were overrun. We didn't get away with very much, just enough to start over here."
Kian     Kian watches, with something of a look of bafflement on his face. He doesn't even think to greet it in return until it has left. <<Your robots have fur,>> he finally says. Kian t'Kaeh, master of the obvious. <<Unless there is a purpose for them not to be, ours are simply coated metal. Yours also appear to be more autonomous. And what a unique method of travel!>>
WilyKat WilyKat tries to explain further. "They came from a planet of their own. They're sort of their own race, I guess. They know a lot about building things. They made the hoverboard you saw, and they helped make just about everything you can see here." So, they're good at what they do, no question about it.

"But, I'll be back. If you're sure you still need anything for that?" He points to the wounded wing, whether it's a minor scrape or more than that.
Kian     Kian nods. <<Just a cold pack or an ice pack or something to cool the area with, that should do it, thank you.>> He looks around for a bench or couch or something, spies the seating between the pillars, and makes his way over. <<And I should take the weight off it and let it just rest on my back a little,>> he adds, making his way over and stretching out on his front. <<If I had just kept my wits about me, I wouldn't be interrupting your day like this. I really am sorry about the intrusion.>>
WilyKat Before WilyKat goes off to find what he can, he looks back to Kian and wonders, "Would you like a guest room so you don't have to stay out here? You don't have to worry about anyone trying to, uh, eat you, really. Is there anyone expecting you back somewhere, so you could let them know where you are?" He's on his way up a few of the steps, but he waits to hear the answer.
Kian     <<If I haven't been eaten yet, I don't think anyone's going to try now,>> Kian answers with a laugh, a genuine one, not a nervous one. <<I think I will be okay here. I don't want to cause more trouble than I already have. Dani -- you remember him, he was with us when we first met? -- will be expecting me eventually, but not at any fixed time.>>
WilyKat "See? Or maybe we just want to make sure you're well-fed first," WilyKat says, watching closely to see how Kian reacts to that. Will he see it as a joke, or take it seriously? Maybe the laughter is a good indicator. "And you'd have to do a lot more than run into something to be trouble." A pause, then he asks, "The..green one? Are you staying with him?"
Kian     <<He has a place that I can stay, that doesn't trigger my claustrophobia,>> Kian explains. <<That day we met, I had an... incident. I woke up and saw the ceiling and it looked so close I thought it was coming down. That's what we were doing outside. I needed to get out of the building. *Needed* to.>> He sighs. <<You must think I'm some kind of neurotic mess.>>
WilyKat WilyKat grows quiet as he listens to this. Maybe it's a good thing he's not being super-chatty today. It gives him the chance to just hear what someone else has to say without interrupting or talking over them. "I don't really know what that would feel like, I don't think," he confesses, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet, then his heels. "I don't think I'd like feeling that way, though." Then he goes off to finally look for whatever might help with that wing.
