Barry Allen It is a normal day in chinatown, and while there is a whole mix of people out today there is one that sticks out. In the hustle and bustle standing out inbetween the shops all aligned outside is one man wearing black today though he doesn't seem to be too worried about it, a cap, and shirt that says CSI on it. He is talking to multiple people some as they pass asking them questions though it doesn't seem he is having luck. Sometimes he even busts out the Mandarin though it is a bit choppy it is good enough to get the point across though usually he just talks in english. He goes back and forth though he looks to be alone today in the crowd he looks around with a smile looking at all the people still to ask.

It was a long shot on finding any information here, and he much rather be in the suit right now, but if there was a Meta out here he should try to find them. They could need help, or at least understanding of whats going on if nothing else. So even after the person he was talking to rudly just walks on by without saying anything to him he doesn't get frustrated, or defeated just earnest to look again. The shops are all open, and nothing really else is out of the ordinary. Just a normal day in Chinatown.
Yaozu A normal day in Chinatown. Such things are to be savoured to the fullest. And so it is that Yaozu happens to find himself out and in the streets of Chinatown. Given the garb of the typical residents, his -- and thus he -- might stand out, somewhat. He wears a set of silk robes of dark burgundy that have some black vertical streaks to it, the sleeves of it wide and a black long-sleeved undershirt able to be glimpsed. His right hand is tucked away within his sleeve, and his left hand lightly rests at the small of his back. His long black hair is mostly unbound, falling down to the small of his back. A small silver clasp in the shape of a phoenix holds the sides of his hair pinned at the back of his head.

His steps are soft and smooth, graceful, and he makes his way easily amongst the crowds of people. There are occassional nods to people that he passes, for he comes to Chinatown fairly regularly. A steamed bun vendor lures his attention with a fresh batch just being brought out of the steamer, and there's actually a ghost of a smile that touches his features briefly as he crosses towards the cart. He stops at the cart, exchanging a greeting with the vendor in flawless Mandarin, then ordering a trio of pork steamed buns. And he waits patiently, seeming to be not in a hurry at all.
Barry Allen Barry is getting shut down again, and again. it was not his day today though he decided to give it a break for a little bit. he was getting hot now, and didn't want to be all sweaty asking questions as that would not of helped him any. So he decides he too will get something to eat, as he already had some bottled water with him moving over looking around a bit then he sees someone different maybe some kind of reenactor or something as he looked around and it wasn't common even in china town.

He shoke his head, and asks for one steam bun in his broken way listening to the man when he is corrected repeating it properly to the point he gets a nod though he does add a "thank you" in english as the man gets to work on Yao's order. Barry stands behind him for a moment then decides heck with hi. "Hi, Barry Allen.. Nice to meet you those are some fancy clothing is that a..." he thinks for a moment then adds.. "cheongsam? Am I saying that right?" and smiles a bit just curious though he seems in good nature. Why not start with an easy one he figures not scare off one of the few people who may talk to him here.
Yaozu The garb he wears is uncommon, even here. It is reminiscent of an older China, a China that many years have left behind. And yet, uncommon though it is, thus is how he's dressed. There is a certain calmness to him, a watchfulness to his surroundings that speaks of someone with training of some kind. What kind, however, might well remain to be seen. His hazel gaze flicks lightly over the others who walk the streets, and then return after a moment to the vendor as he gives a small nod to the offer of something to drink to go along with the steamed buns. He requests a bottle of water, still speaking in Mandarin.

One of Yaozu's eyebrows faintly quirks up as his gaze turns towards the man who introduced himself. Smoothly, he shifts his position, turning to face the man, and his right hand slips into his left with the back of his right hand against the palm of his left, the tips of his thumbs touching, and he bows as he extends his arms. The movement is smooth, graceful and respectful. It also causes his dark hair to fall forward over one of his shoulders. He straightens, offering his name as he does. "Lin Yaozu," he says softly, his tone mellow and in a low tenor note. He tilts his head a touch to one side. "A cheongsam is a dress that a woman would wear. These are robes," he says, replying in English that has some lingering accent to it. "It is good to meet you," he adds, inclining his head towards the fellow.
Barry Allen Barry shakes his hand, but takes in a deep breath.. "Right... female garb." looking like he realises he already made a mistake, but moves to rub the back of his head. "Look I am sorry about that Mr. Yaouzu. I didn't mean anything by it thank you for the warm greeting despite my misunderstanding." and chuckles a bit waving to an open bench. "Please come sit with me. I often visit china, and I hardly see such robes." it wasn't a complete lie, as he often ran through China. He kind of had to sometimes, and despite them not really liking it they most of the time didn't even realize so when he had to run around he world he would cut through sometimes.

Barry gets his meal, and sits down either following Yaozu or leading the way depending on if he accepted his invitation. Barry continues, "Wheew... Warm day good to have some water right. I always bring my own they buy them at bulk back home so saves a bit of money." he grins and takes a drink tentivly touching the steam bun, but deciding to let it cool a bit first. "So are you visiting? Local? I mean no offince but it looks like ya walked right out of that Three Kingdom tale so there has to be a story behind that right?" he chuckles a bit falling quiet to listen to the man.
Yaozu "Mm," Yaozu affirms, giving a single small nod. He tilts his head faintly to one side, and one of his eyebrows nudges upwards just a touch. There is a ghost of a smile that touches at the corners of his lips, and his right hand slips back into his sleeve as he moves it to rest at the small of his back once more. "Yaozu. Not Mister Yaozu. It is fine, I am not offended and all is forgiven," he says softly, inclining his head towards the man. "Misunderstandings are things that happen. They are for learning from," he adds, a thoughtful tone creeping to his words. He lifts his left hand to accept the paper bag with the trio of steamed buns in it, hooking the bottle between two of his fingers. There's a nod and a bow to the vendor, and then his attention turns back to Barry.

"I will sit with you. Such robes as the ones I wear are not considered normal garb," he says. He makes a slight gesture, for Barry to head towards the bench first. He follows after, then settles to the bench as well, sitting the bottle of water next to him on the bench before he retrieves one of the buns from the paper bag. "It is a fair day. The silk is very breathable, and so it is cooler. Sometimes water is good, most days I prefer tea," Yaozu says. He's quiet a moment, using the time to take a bite of the steamed bun, his eyes half closing briefly whilst he savours it. "Mm. I visit Chinatown frequently. It reminds me of home. I live not far," he answers. "Many are wary of speaking to those who are from beyond Chinatown itself," he comments, glancing towards Barry before he takes another bite of the steamed bun.
Barry Allen Barry nods, listening. "I don't blame you look at the place it is just.. well awesome isn't it." when he says it he is looking out at all the people all doing their thing, just a hustling area full of trade, talk, and who knows even music at times. He shakes his head, "I wish I lived closer, but I am from Central City myself i just ran over to look for some information.. Well not ran." he laughs a bit, "That would be rediculas I took the bus of course." he grins at him with a nod. "Honestly I am afraid the trip was a wild goose chase. See I am looking around for something we call a meta." he explains "It is someone whose body is changed by some Biological, technical, or even mystical means to become something else.. Something more then what they were." he shakes his head looking at the air. "From what I have heard there is one around this area, but everyone I ask is all hush hush, about it since I am not really as you said trusted around here." he shakes his head at that.

To him the well intentioned the thought that someone might be doing this for illintentions just didn't come to him. Why else would someone want to find them, but to help them though there was worse things. He looks over at Yaozu, "If you have a minute I would like to ask you some questions about it.. Who knows maybe you have seen them and didn't realize as you are a visitor around here," he shrugs, "I mean if not its just a shot in the dark anyway right? What could it hurt?"
Yaozu There is a moment where Yaozu simply looks beyond where the pair of them sit. Out over the people, out over the buildings, taking the time to simply see Chinatown for what it is. "Mm. It is," Yaozu agrees, giving a small nod. He lifts the steamed bun, taking another bite of it. "Central City is a fair distance, if I am recalling correctly," he says, tilting his head faintly to one side. One of his eyebrows quirks in that faint way of his, his hazel gaze turning to the man and studying him for a long and quiet moment. Yaozu sits quite still after not just the mention but explanation of what a 'meta' is. "And why do you seek this 'meta'?" Yaozu asks, his tone soft spoken, his hazel gaze turning to the fellow.

"You are asking people to give information about their friends, their family, so that you can find the one who is changed. Do you tell them why you seek the changed one? What will happen to that one? Perhaps they simply fear what might become of that one, when you find them. The people here are a community, and they protect one another," he says. He tilts his head a touch to one side, and then he gives a small nod. "You are welcome to ask what questions you wish. Perhaps I will have answers. Perhaps not," he says, inclining his head slightly towards the man.
Barry Allen Barry nods, "Well yes it is, but I travel a lot ya see so a trip like this is a short jaunt for me anymore." he smiles a bit, "I get to see the world like no-one else, no-one realizes how small it is ya know. I mean lots of area of course, but just one small planet once ya been all over it." and he chuckles looking back. "Oh right sorry." he holds out a card, on it says Flash foundation. "See I am a volunteer at the foundation, and well see we travel around trying to find meta's and help them. It can be really tough learning to adjust to new powers like that, and we try to show them they can live normal lives." he smiles a bit rubbing the back of his neck embarassed. "I know it is silly, but well most of them are just kids, or adults who have lost their way, and if we can get to them before they turn to a life of crime we can save lives ya know?"

The whole time if Yaozu can tell if someone is lieing Barry is not, not even a single word. Since he has started talking till now it has all been the truth, well maybe not the bus part, but everything else. He does sound ethusiastic in his goal like he believes it is right and good thing to do. "And I do try, I give out the cards sometimes, but usually they have already blown me off by them, or they don't believe me. At least they aren't calling me the devil anymore.. That wasn't very nice." and he grins at the man.

"I get it I really do they want to protect their own family, and I don't want to hurt anyone, but it is hard to express to them how without help it can sometimes be dangerous, and not always on purpose. Accidents happen with new powers also, but I am just the evil man wanting to take them away ya know?" he shrugs a bit, "Alright.. let me get to my questions!" he says happy to change the subject, and finally have someone to ask his questions to. "Alright.. Have you seen anyone not in a costume flying around in the sky recently?"
Yaozu "Mm," Yaozu says softly, giving a faint and single nod. He tilts his head faintly to one side, studying the man who sits near to him. And he blinks, absorbing the information that's given. "Many are not so well travelled. Many of those who are here have found their way from China to try to make a better life for themselves. Or to be nearer to family who have come here first," he says, a thoughtful tone to his voice. As the card is offered, he slips his right hand free of the wide sleeve of his robe in order to accept it, and there are two rings that can be noticed there -- one on his middle finger which is made of wilver, and one on his thumb which might or might not be recognized as a pulse oximeter ring of the wireless variety. He looks to the card, reading what it says, and then he gives a small nod. "I see. I have not heard of the foundation, I fear. And how do you help them, the metas?" Yaozu asks, a flicker of curiosity touching his voice.

"Change is... difficult, regardless of the nature of it," Yaozu says softly, a flicker of a smile touching his lips. "Do you find it common for metas to turn to crime?" he asks, tilting his head faintly to one side. "What if your meta is involved in something that is not crime?" he wonders. The tone that Barry speaks in sounds sincere, but Yaozu is no lie detector, alas. The card vanishes into his sleeve along with his hand, and Yaozu takes another bite of the steamed bun. "There are some who can be cruel. I am sorry that you have experienced such. Your Mandarin could use some small amount of practice. It might help to win their trust," he offers, a hint of a smile touching at the corners of his lips.

"Hai, accidents happen," Yaozu affirms, giving a small nod. An oddity, that is, since 'hai' is Japanese and not Mandarin. "Flying...?" he asks, tilting his head to one side. Then he gives a small shake of his head. "I have not seen anyone flying, with or without a costume. Does your meta fly?"
Barry Allen Barry nods, "We are rather new in a larger scale such as this, but in Central City we have helped a few metas, and of course we have the Flash though I really don't like talking about him." he smiles but doesn't explain further. In truth he didn't like bragging about himself, he just did what he did for the best of his city, and well the world he liked being thanked, but he was in it because it was right. He does notice the rings, but decides it might not be best to ask about it, he did like it though must of cost the guy a fortune.

Then Barry nods, "It is.. it is, but that is a good question. What if I find them, and they are just fine!" he smiles happy you asked that, "Well thats the best thing.. Nothing. Technically we don't need to keep records since it isn't tied to any law organization. Only where, and when we go places outside of the city... So Nothing." he grins a bit. "It is a little bit of a loop hole, but no records are kept, nothing is done. We just go back home, and case closed"

He smiles a bit, "I know it is wierd, but usually when someone gets their... powers. They tend to just use them. It is a common bigginer mistake that you would not believe how easy it is to get caught." he chuckles a bit more, "Just because they can they do ya know. It is a good sign that we need to find them quickly." he moves on to the next question.

"Have you seen any power outages in places they shouldm't be. Blulbs maybe blowing out violently.. Static in the air kind of things?" he nods to him explaining this time. "Most the time with Technical meta transferations.. There is a pulse simmular to an emp so add in electronics to that and spark!"
Yaozu "Mm," Yaozu says, giving a small nod. It's likely a sound of acknowledgement or perhaps acceptance or agreement. It can be hard to tell sometimes. "I have heard little in regards to the Flash, I fear. The news from beyond does not easily reach past China's boundaries," he says, a hint of a smile touching at the corners of his lips before it vanishes once again. He finishes the first of the steamed buns, and then he retrieves the next one from out of the bag.

"Nothing?" Yaozu asks, tilting his head faintly to one side. "It one were... stable... you would leave him or her where they are, to live as they are, and do nothing. It is... an interesting idea," he says softly, a thoughtful tone to his voice. "Sometimes, perhaps, powers do not simply come and be there. What if they take time to be fully present?" he asks, looking aside for a moment before he turns his gaze back to Barry, studying the fellow. "So you would record when you came across the meta, and where, and that is all. It is... different," he says, inclining his head slightly.

"Power outages? No. I have not seen any. No lightbulbs bursting or unexpected static. Nothing that is unusual," Yaozu says, his tone thoughtful. "Do you know what type of meta it is that you seek?"
Barry Allen "Oh I bet not.. Well he is a meta that protects Central City. His power is speed, and well a lot of it." he admits then changes the topic a bit "Yes nothing.. Really." he laughs a bit when saying it. "Why would we want to interupt something good like that?" he shakes his head at the idea. "We just are trying to help the people ya know. How do I explain it... We just want them to be happy, normal people.. If that means leaving them alone then so be it."

He thinks a bit "If they need help we will either provide it or find someone that can. If they are a danger, and they refuse.. Well we are not a physical force.. We let the heros handle that."

There is sirens in the background, and Barry's smile as he is talking gets a bit drained.. "LOok you have my card call me whenever you like day or night.. If you see them we will help okay." he stands up tossing his cool bun to him. "Thanks for the info free lunch." and chuckles. "Remember Name is Barry.." he says already moving a bit away now.
Yaozu There's a slight tilt of his head at that, and he gives a small nod. "Interesting," Yaozu says softly, a thoughtful tone claiming the words. And he does find it to be so, the notion of speed as a power. "Mm," he affirms, giving a small nod. "It makes sense. If it is a good thing, then why disrupt it?" he offers. He's quiet a moment, looking down to the steamed bun that he holds in his left hand. "Lin Yaozu has known those who would offer help with one hand and give betrayal with the other. Forgive this one for his wariness, he is trying to learn differently," Yaozu says softly. It's... a strangeness, to hear someone speak of themselves in the third person, and yet it's a cultural thing. It happens, sometimes.

His hazel gaze turns to Barry, and he gives a small nod. "It is a good goal, to wish to help people. I will seek to keep that in mind, and I will be aware of the signs that you have mentioned," he says, giving a small nod. "Hai, I have your card, and I will call if I have a need. Xiexie ni," he adds, inclining his head towards Barry. He catches the bun easily, almost as though it's an afterthought, the movement seeming to be entirely instinct. He is not without training, this one. "You are welcome. I will remember. Travel safely," Yaozu offers, giving a small nod. He's been given a few things to think about.
